I'm back with a new chapter! I just want to let you guys know that this story is AU so it doesn't follow the thing about Earth time being hundreds of years behind Asgard or whatever. I've been thinking about how this chapter might go down for a while and I'm still not sure how I'm gonna do it but I have to update. If it sounds really bad, then that is the reason.
Chapter Seven
"Loki? Talk to me. Are you ok?" Thor asked his little brother as his body began to go limp in his arms. He shook Loki's shoulders but he didn't respond. He tore his eyes away from his brother when he heard a slap echoing through walls.
Odin held his cheek where Frigga had slapped him. "What is the matter with you, Odin. That is no way to treat our son."
"He is not our son." Odin replied through gritted teeth.
"I told you. He may not be your son but he is mine. If you hurt him you will pay the price." Frigga glared.
"You can't hurt me, woman." He sneered, grabbing her wrist before she could strike him. Thor lay Loki down behind him before running towards Odin. He punched him so hard that his golden eye patch fell to the floor along with his body. He picked up Gungnir and pointed at Odin's chest.
"Thor, stop. He's not worth it." Frigga said softly with a hint of anger in her voice as she took Gungnir from her son's hands. She swore she felt the ground underneath Asgard shook as a storm formed in the sky.
"Guards! Arrest them." Odin ordered. They clamped shackles onto the princes' wrists but they came to a stop before Frigga.
"Will you really arrest me, Odin, seeing as I saved your life just now?" Frigga asked. She watched as her sons were escorted away. She had a plan but it didn't involve her being arrested too.
Odin stood up and fixed his eye patch back onto his face and looked between Frigga and the guards. "Escort her to her room. Make sure she doesn't get out. Arrest anyone in league with Loki." He decided before storming out of the room.
Loki shut his eyes tightly before opening them. His whole body was aching so much that it hurt to breathe. After realizing that he couldn't move his arms, his eyes snapped open and he finally looked around at his surroundings. His arms were held above his head and his wrists were chained to the wall. He was in the dungeons. It wasn't as if he wasn't expecting to be locked up. Loki smirked when he looked up at the small window in the corner of the cell. The sky was grey and lightning flashed as rain pelted to the ground. He tried reciting a spell to get him out of the chains but none of them worked, all they did was leave him weak. Suppression chains. You're not taking any chances are you, Odin? Loki thought as he shook his head.
"Loki? Are you awake?"
The younger prince turned to find the source of the familiar voice. In the cell next to him, sat Thor. He wasn't chained like his brother was but Loki had a feeling there was a reason why Thor's lightning couldn't blast the doors open. Not like that was a reason why Thor was in prison. "What are you doing here?" Loki asked.
"Father's locking up anyone who's in league with you. Including family." Thor replied, motioning to himself. "I also punched him in the face."
Loki couldn't help but laugh, "But he won't keep you here for long. You're the heir. A kingdom without an heir is no kingdom at all…" Loki voice got quieter as he trailed off.
Thor noticed and lowered his gaze. "You're thinking about Jotunheim, right?" He asked even though he knew the answer. He'd heard about how badly the kingdom was destroyed after the war and how Laufey withered as a leader after his family had been killed. Asgardians celebrated it every year as it was their greatest victory in history. Loki didn't answer him but his distant stare was enough for him.
Suddenly, there was a loud shout from above them.
"You can't just arrest me without a proper reason!" The angry voice of a woman could be heard along with various grunts of frustration from the guards.
"Who's that?" Thor asked, confused.
"It's Sigyn. What in Asgard is Odin's problem?" Loki asked to no one in particular. He silently struggled in his chains to get free but it only made him weaker. He didn't care though. Odin had gone mad, not only did he arrest Sigyn for being a friend, but he also arrested his own son. Frigga might be next. No! He wouldn't do that. She wouldn't let him.
"Just shut up!" A guard told Sigyn before he shoved her into her cell. She pretended her finger was a zip and zipped her mouth closed before spitting in the guard's face. He raised a hand to hit her.
"Don't you dare hurt her." Thor warned, glaring at the guard. He lowered his gaze and put down his hand as he knew that Thor was still the prince and had authority over him, whether he was in prison or not. The guard quickly locked Sigyn in the cell before leaving the dungeon.
"Thanks." She said to Thor. She looked past him to see Loki, who was silently seething. "Is he ok?" She asked. Thor shook his head, not really knowing what to say.
"Wait, why did they arrest you?" He asked her as curiosity came over him.
"They burst into the healing room saying that I was under arrest for leaving Asgard without permission-" She started.
"But that was over two weeks ago." Thor interrupted.
"Exactly, that's what I said. Then they gave up with that story and started mumbling about the king's orders." Sigyn explained with an exasperated sigh.
Frigga waited patiently in her room until the night took over Asgard. The storm hadn't let up since the morning. She couldn't imagine what was going through Thor's head to be able to keep up a storm that ferocious. The moon had now managed to escape the clouds. Frigga saw it as a sign to begin her plan.
She recited a spell in her head and a ball of fire formed in her palm. She silently kneeled to the ground and pushed the fire into it. Smoke rose beneath the feet of the guards on the other side of the door. They began to cough and splutter.
Frigga quietly opened the door as soon as she heard them fall to the ground. She ran and hid behind the nearest wall before reciting another spell. The guards slowly stood up with an obvious headache. They then continued guarding the door. Frigga smirked before quickly making her way down to the dungeons. She spotted a group of guards having a drink outside the entrance to the dungeons. An illusion of a rock appeared in her hand and she threw it to the other of the corridor. They're heads snapped to that directions and they immediately pursued what they thought was an intruder.
Frigga took her opportunity to get into the dungeons. There were gasps of shock from the other prisoners. Some she knew and resented, and some she didn't know. She made her way to her sons' cells, assuming they'd be in the same place. Thor was sleeping but there was still an angry expression on his face. She looked up at the sky that was still full of clouds. Loki was sitting in the corner with his knees hugging his chest and Sigyn was lying asleep on the cold floor.
Seeing as Loki was awake, she started with him. As she got closer, she noticed the chains wrapped up his arms. They were suppression chains. She resented them after Odin put them on her after she disobeyed him for the first time. She was weaker then, new to the thought of marriage, especially to the king.
"Hey, Loki?" She asked after noticing that Loki hadn't even looked at her. "Stay still, I'm going to get you out." That made him look at his mother with a mixture of different emotions. He'd tried to get out of the chains but now he was too weak to even struggle against them. He looked at Frigga in awe as she blasted the door open and placed her hands on the chains. After a few moments, they evaporated into a cloud of dust. Loki's strength rushed back into him and his eyes flickered different colours of the rainbow before settling on bright green.
Frigga placed a hand over Thor's mouth after she blasted her way in his cell. He struggled against her grip but calmed down when he realized that it was his mother. He grinned at her, earning a smile back. He got up and saw Loki with his arm around a sleepy Sigyn.
"It's rock, someone tricked us!" A guard shouted from above them.
"Thor, take Loki and Sigyn and get out of here." Frigga said.
"But-" Loki started but Frigga cut him off.
"I can explain what happened to you guys." She looked at her youngest son and the healer. "They'll be looking for you two so you have to be careful. Thor-"
"I'll protect them, mum, I promise. Father can't hurt me, I'm the heir." Thor interrupted.
Frigga looked between the two boys and her mind wondered back to the time when they only reached her hip. "Just be careful, ok?" They nodded and ran away. The guards raced into the dungeons to see their Queen standing in front of them. "Is there a problem?"
Hey! I wanted Frigga to be really badass in this chapter because I didn't want her to be a helpless queen who always obeys the king. I hoped you liked this chapter. Please review! Bye!
