Endless Tears

I do not own Naruto and all rights belong to Masashi Kishimoto. =3

(A/N: I am so very sorry it took me so long to update. I made up my mind earlier this month I was going to return and be active with my fanfiction and fiction. So if any of my readers are still around I am back and ready to make ya'all proud! Love you guys!)

Chapter Seven:

She'd been running for what felt like months, but within reality it'd only been roughly three days. Sakura was tired of running. Her legs throbbed, her feet stung and her lungs threatened to collapse on her at any moment. With a sigh, she wiped the sweat from her brow and continued moving through the thick forest on the outskirts of the Fire Country.

Suddenly her head started to feel funny and her vision grew hazy. She could feel her skin tingle and she knew she was going to faint. The air rushed free of her lungs and she fell hard to the ground. She could feel the blood rushing to the surface of her knees and hands.

Her eyes grew heavy and she pitched forward. She was going to pass out soon, that was a certainty. She noticed something moving in front of her, the form was oddly human. It hunched down and she recognized a face looking at her face. She watched blood red fade to coal black.

Sakura smiled at the face and closed her eyes, losing all consciousness. The last thing she remembered was being heaved over someone's should and she felt the slight shift movement and knew she was being taken somewhere. A mellow familiar voice tickled her ears and it took her a moment to realize they'd said her name.

Sea foam eyes fluttered open to utter darkness. She couldn't see a thing, just never ending pitch that seemed to stretch out around her. A cold chill filled her body and she shivered, before she sat straight up. Fear ran icy cold down her spine.

"Where am I?" She cried out into the darkness.

Worried she touched the ground under her. Confused, she patted something that was both hard and slick. It was stone and it seemed to be what the ground under her was made of. She felt around, moving on her hands and knees along the ground until she found a wall that seemed to feel the same as the ground.

"A cave." She whispered in realization.

She slowly tried to stand, but realized it was a bad idea when her ankle started to throb heatedly. Sakura growled and eyes the darkness. She noticed there was a bleak light off in the distance in front of her, it was winking at her. Since she wouldn't be able to walk she decided to crawl, which was easier than she thought.

She hissed in pain, when a stray rock cut her knee.

"Where are you going, Sakura?"

The pink haired kunoichi gasped in surprise and fell forward her face hitting the ground. She groaned and rolled onto her back. Her face stung, but she forced her eyes to open and she looked up into the darkness above her. She noticed a shadowed form hovering over her. She could just make out the sharp planes of a pale face and large eyes shadowed by long messy hair.

"Who are you?" She growled, reaching for her kunai pack at her thigh.

"I wouldn't do that if I was you." The voice warned, stopping her with his words.

Sakura gazed up in disbelief and stared at the form above her. She knew that voice. It haunted her dreams and waking thoughts. Sure it was deeper know with age and far colder than she remembered, but she knew that voice.

"Sasuke."

Yay! I just love cliff hangers, but no worries I will update soon. Reviews are as welcome as chocolate and coffee.
