Sorry about the wait again. I think this is the second-to-last chapter.

It had been a long ride filled with rug burn and strange smells; her face had been pressed into the carpet the whole time. Lily hadn't even tried to straighten herself because she didn't care anymore. All she wanted was for this nightmare to be over. With each sharp turn her insides twisted into a tighter knot than they already were.

When the car stopped she breathed again. It was hard to focus on breathing when she was focusing on keeping her neck from snapping. Her legs were stuck under the back seat of the vehicle and her head was under the front one, so her neck strained whenever they turned. The scars on her face stabbed into her cheek when they rubbed on the floor of the car.

The door near her feet opened and the biting cold of the autumn wind stung at her exposed feet. The strongly muscled hands wrapped around her calves and pulled her out of the car. Her shirt caught on the carpet and her skin rubbed against the rough material, adding another burn to her collection. The pull also tugged at the scars on her stomach. When he stood her up on the cool pavement she felt a warm liquid trickle down her torso. The wounds must have opened up again slightly.

The man obviously didn't want to deal with her stumbling so he scooped her up in his arms again and carried her to their final destination. Lily felt the air get warmer and the light behind the cloth across her eyes get darker, so she assumed they were indoors. The man's shoes clicked across the hard floor, echoing off of the walls and ceiling of the wide space. The sound of a woman's voice mixed in with the footfalls. She was yelling something, but Lily couldn't make it out.

After what felt like forever she was set down in a chair. The yell of the woman were giving her a headache. Her tied hands were brought behind the backrest and the rest of her body was tied down with a thick rope. The woman with the familiar voice was now questioning the man who had been carrying her as he tied her ankles to the chair.

"Who is that?" It asked. "Who are you? Are you with him?" Lily couldn't pinpoint the voice but it was someone she knew. Just thinking about it gave her a headache through so she stopped concentrating. She felt the presence of the man move behind her. The woman gasped.

"No, you can't do this! No!" She was screaming again. Lily wished she would stop; her head hurt so much.

"Not Lily she doesn't deserve it!" So this woman knew who she was. The cloth around her eyes was pulled off and she blinked a few times, allowing her eyes to adjust to the dim light. There in front of her was Rachel Dawes, tied up in a way similar to her own situation. Rachel was screaming at the retreating man who had brought her in here. She was screaming for him to come back and take Lily, but he just kept receding toward the door. He stepped outside and shut the door with a slam. Rachel let out a last sob of protest.

There was a long silence as Rachel made herself stop crying. Lily had never seen the woman in such a state of child-like ill composure. At every gala or party Lily had been to Rachel had always been the professional she was in court. She began to pity Rachel. But her pity was short lived when she noticed the clock in the barrel in front of her. It read 3:43, and was counting down. She then saw the hundreds of barrels that occupied the warehouse room they were in, and she made the quick connection.

"Rachel what's going on?" A static filled voice asked, startling Lily. She hadn't seen anyone but Rachel in the room.

"Harvey, they just brought Lily here too" Rachel said to a phone receiver next to the clock. She sniffed and wiped her face on her shoulder.

"Lily Surrillo? The missing judges' daughter?" Harvey's disembodied voice asked.

"Yes."

"I can't believe he got her too." He paused for a moment. "It's okay Rachel; they're coming for you two."

"Don't say that," Rachel snapped gently back at him. "They are going to come for all of us." Lily figured he must have been in the same predicament as her and Rachel.

"He said that they would only be able to reach one of us. I want that to be you," Harvey said, and Lily began to tear up. They were so in love and it was a beautiful thing in all of the tragedy that filled her life right now. And then she remembered that this wasn't a movie and it was actually happening. She looked at the clock. It read 1:04. Two minutes had gone by pretty quickly.

Suddenly Harvey sounded frantic across the line. He was yelling, but not at them.

"No! No not me!" He was screaming. "Not me! You were supposed to get them! I don't deserve this, they do! No!" His voice faded away to nothing.

"It's okay," Rachel was saying. "It's okay; I wouldn't have been able to live without you anyway, Harvey." She looked at Lily. "I only wish that they could have saved you." The clock read 0:12.

Lily smiled softly. A tear ran down her face. She began mentally counting down. Rachel continued talking over the line to Harvey, who was probably not even in the building anymore.

Sorry it was short. I think there will only be one chapter left you guys. Thanks for sticking with me through these long hiatuses.
