CHAPTER SEVEN

- Sonic's POV -

Silver is right. I have to get my mind off of that girl, he is driving me insane with her rejection. Just look at me, I am Sonic the Hedgehog, the fastest thing in the universe and really damn handsome aswell. Who would say no to me? I've never met a girl that told me off and actually meant it. Few girls have tried playing hard to get, but that only lasted about three days. Amy was my neighbour, she had to see me everyday and still she seemed so cold.

Of course I know it was wrong what I said about her the other day, I talked about her as if she was some kind of object or device. I know she is hurt, but how long could it last? I mean, I've apologized. Something I barely do.

Tonight I've tried nearly everything to get her attention. I've dressed up nicely, I've been wanting to spend her a drink, to dance with her or just go somewhere and talk - and believe it or not, I actually meant it. I just wanted to talk, wanted to ask her why she doesn't like me.

The first minute she arrived I had nothing other in mind than to.. have a dirty lil' dance in my bed with her.

After the first two rejections that changed. I just wanted to know what I am doing wrong, why I am scaring her off.

I mean, I've been watching her the whole night. She was friendly to everyone who approached her, no matter the gender. I watched Rocco the Wolf spending her a few drinks and she happily accepted it. My blood was boiling. Something I couldn't explain, though.

Normally when one of my targets hangs out with other guys it doesn't even bother me, I don't care.

But watching her talk and laugh with him annoyed me to the core. I had no right to interfere, though. She wasn't my girlfriend or anything.

Ew, girlfriends. Never understood why guys would settle down with only one girl, doesn't that get boring after two days? I wasn't the type to start relationships and girls knew that.

Well, except Amy. I remember the talk I had with her when I drove her to school and she told me she isn't into relationships.. I had to laugh, really. I don't think I seem like the type of guy a girl could change, nobody could ever change me.

I just wanted to get intimate with Amy Rose, no matter the cost. If she wouldn't sleep with me, she'd be embarassing me infront of the whole school and she'd be treated like a heroine. I couldn't let that happen. On the other hand I couldn't spend days or weeks chasing after one girl, that wasn't something I usually do. If a girl rejects me once, I'll reject her a million times until she's begging me to sleep with her.

But something deep down told me that Amy would never come begging me.. she just wouldn't, I knew it. Her eyes gave it away. Right now I had to concentrate on something else, though.

Silver told me that Stacy had been staring at me the whole night and as I turned my head she was actually looking my way, grinning shyly. I licked my lips and approached her in my typical swagger, I couldn't help. Since this stupid Amy arrived at school on Monday, I didn't get down with any girl, because I was focusing on her and it was annoying me, my urges were overdriving me.

As I approached Stacy I felt a pair of dark green eyes following me. I peeked from the corner of my eye and spotted Amy standing on the dance floor, her figure remained motionless as her eyes were locked onto my body. Even though I felt a sharp sting of guilt, I crashed my lips against Stacy's and melted into her arms. I needed this, I had to get my mind off of Amy, it was enough running after her.

After deepening the kiss, I could feel my heart break into pieces. What was I even doing? Ain't I a pathetic excuse of a guy? Not getting my will and then hurting others on purpose? I could feel my father talk to me, he wasn't proud at all. But I had to do this, I had to let Amy know that I don't care and that I don't need her. Even though my eyes were closed, I could still feel her staring at me. It gave me sick waves of pleasure, but on the other hand it broke my heart.

'Let's go somewhere else.' I heard Stacy whisper hungrily into my ear. I opened my eyes and looked at her, then I turned my head to look at Amy once more, but as soon as my gaze hit hers, she looked away. I shrugged, turned back to Stacy and nodded.

'Let's go.'

- Author's POV -

Amy watched the whole scene with a slight hint of frustration. Sonic has tried to get into her pants the whole night long and it was annoying her, on the other night she was unsure whether she should've just given him a chance to get to know him better. Maybe he wasn't too bad after all..

But just as she finished thinking these things, she watched Sonic get up from his stool, walking towards Stacy, a confident smirk on his muzzle. She watched him approach this insanely gorgeous lilac raccoon and all she did was winking at him, gesturing him to come closer.

As Sonic started kissing this girl out of nowhere, Amy felt a sharp pain in her chest, it didn't feel right. It was odd, but it bothered her way too much. For god's sake, she didn't even know the guy, yet she felt a strong connection.

She watched him deepening the kiss, his hands eagerly tracing up and down Stacy's sides. On one hand this sight disgusted her, on the other hand it was hurtful. Amy watched his expression, at first it stayed calm and emotionless, but as he deepened the kiss even more, his expression looked like he was hurting or something. He furrowed his brows and his whole face looked like somebody just kicked his shinbone and he's trying to hide the immense pain. He didn't look satisfied at all, which made Amy wonder why he was doing this in the first place.

Then Stacy broke the kiss and whispered something in Sonic's ear, Amy raised an eyebrow in annoyance, were all girls so cheap? Oh, Stacy didn't seem cheap, she seemed free of charge already.

What was Sonic trying to prove? That he gets all the sluts? Oh well, congratulations, loverboy.

Amy hitched a breath as she noticed that Sonic was looking directly at her, as Stacy was giggling something in his neck. His gaze was stiff, unreadable. So Amy turned away immediately, she didn't want him to think that she cared. In fact, she didn't. Yes, she was bothered because some ravishing guy showed interest in her at first and now let her down, it was annoying.

But 'care' was such a strong word, almost like 'jealous'. And Amy did neither. She didn't care, nor was she feeling jealous.

From the corner of her eye she noticed Sonic's hurtful scowl as he turned around and faced Stacy again, gesturing her to leave the party with him. She took his hand in hers and both walked away.

Amy let out a deep breath.

There was only one word left for that feeling that was creeping up her stomach.

Disappointment.

Silver watched the whole scene aswell, feeling pleased, but also guilty. He looked at Sonic, who was clearly enjoying himself, then looked at Amy, who was standing motionless on the dance floor. Everyone around her was dancing and having fun, while she just stood there like her feet were glued to the surface, watching Sonic kiss this girl in agony. She looked so vulnerable, yet so furious.

Silver then glanced back over to Sonic, who was just leaving the party with this girl. Just great. -_-

The light gray hedgehog decided to get up from his stool and walk over to Amy. He tapped her shoulder and she turned around immediately, smiling sweetly, as if nothing's just happened.

'Hey Silver! Nice to see you.'

'Glad to see you too, wanna have a drink?'

'Sure. Can Blaze tag along? She looks bored.' Amy said, pointing at the lilac cat who was standing on the other side of the dancefloor, her arms crossed and her face was just screaming that she's annoyed as hell. Silver nodded.

'Gladly!'

'Great, lemme get her quickly.'

With that Amy ran towards Blaze, grabbed her hand and led her towards the bar. Blaze sighed and sat down on a stool, looking at Amy, who sat down beside her.

'What is this about?' Blaze asked mockingly.

'Chill, kitty cat. We're gonna cheer you up.' Amy chirped. Silver sat down beside Amy and grinned awkwardly. As she bartender tapped his shoulder he ordered six shots of Tequila. Blaze's eyes widened.

'Cheer me up with tequila shots? Seriously?'

'Calm down, it'll be fun.' Amy confirmed. Blaze rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, giving Amy a stern look.

'You're just trying to get your mind off of Sonic, who just left the party with someone that wasn't you.'

'Why would you bring that up now?' Amy hissed.

'I apologize, don't mind me, I am having a bad day.'

'Why, though? What happened?'

'Uh, nothing. I just don't like the way Rouge is forcing Tikal into being someone she really isn't. I mean, Rouge has a spark for this red echidna, which is fine, but then she leaves Tikal all on her own with this white wolf. We both know Tikal is too shy and caring to tell him off.' Blaze ranted, staring at Tikal, who was sitting in the sand with Rocco beside her. They both looked like they were having a great time, maybe Blaze was overreacting, she had motherly feelings towards Tikal.

'Blaze, you need to stop judging people's action without knowing their intentions. Maybe Rouge is just trying to help Tikal to meet someone new. You say Tikal is too shy, that's why Rouge's trying to set up a date for her and as you can clearly see - Tikal is enjoying it. Stop worrying.' Amy said calmly, Silver nodded.

'Maybe Amy is right! Though, I admire how much you care about your friends.' he spoke softly, blushing slightly, a nervous grin on his lips.

Blaze raised both eyebrows and looked at him.

'Thanks, I guess.'

'Well Blaze, this is Silver.' Amy said, smiling widely.

'You've introduced us before.' Blaze stated in a somewhat unfriendly tone.

'Uh, right.' Amy said nervously. 'Let's just get to the point where we gulp down that tequila and have a crazy night?'

Blaze sighed. 'Go ahead.'

'Yaay!' Amy cheered. They all clinked their shots and swallowed their tequila. Just then the DJ turned the music a little louder, it was nearly 12pm. Amy got up from her stool and grinned at Blaze, who furrowed her brows in return.

'Let's dance!' Amy cheered. Blaze couldn't help but laugh shortly.

'She's adorable, isn't she?' Silver whispered into her ear. Blaze turned to look at him, his ears drooped immediately, a shy grin on his muzzle. Blaze smiled heartily at the shy hedgehog.

'She is, let's hit the dancefloor.' she demanded. Silver's eyes lit up and they all headed towards the dancefloor.

Sonic slammed Stacy against the walls of his corridor carefully, their lips never parting. All he heard was Stacy's muffled moans and it took all his strength not to fall over her like a hungry predator right here, right now. He was fiddling his key in his gloved fingers, trying to find the lock to his door. Stacy was blocking his view, as she was flirtatiously nibbling his neck. Sonic opened one eye and looked down the empty corridor, he was afraid someone could see him, but no one was around. He then spotted the door bell of his adjacent door, it read 'Amy Rose & Rouge the Bat'. He dropped his key out of sudden and broke the kiss between him and Stacy. She looked at him and seemed confused.

'What's wrong?' she asked soothingly, in return she got a shrug from Sonic, who stared at the ground.

'You can sleep here.' he offered, tossing his key to her. She raised an eyebrow.

'In your bed?'

'Yeah.'

'Will you join me later?'

'I guess, I have to take care of something first.'

'Sure, I'll wait.'

With that Sonic gave her a quick peek on her cheek and dashed off. Stacy opened the door and looked around for a while, then she got comfortable in Sonic's bedroom, watching some TV.

After they danced for a while, Silver, Blaze and Amy sat down in the warm sand infront of a huge oak tree. They were all slightly tipsy and enjoyed their beautiful surroundings.

'I would've never guessed that Station Square is such a lovely place!' Blaze swooned as she looked around. Amy nodded and smiled.

'I know, but it wasn't as beautiful until you arrived.' Silver said, flashing her a mischievous smirk. Blaze blinked a few times before responding.

'Uh, how charming.'

'That's just the way I am, m'lady.'

Blaze and Amy looked at eachother for a brief moment and giggled. It was really cute how much effort Silver was putting into impressing Blaze. She played along most of the time, but sometimes she couldn't hold back her giggle.

'Ladies.' a stern voice spoke, making the two girls look up. It was Rouge, her lipstick was smudged from all the kissing with Knuckles and her cheeks were burning red - she was either really turned on or really drunk.

'I am leaving, see you in the morning.' she said sweetly and gave Knuckles a lustful wink, making the two girls infront of her cringe at the sight.

'Make it home safe.' Amy said, which made Rouge giggle.

'Doll, I am just next door.'

'Sure, enjoy yourself.'

'Oh, don't you worry, I will.'

And with that Rouge and Knuckles left the party. Blaze and Amy just stared at eachother, whilst Silver was laughing hysterically.

'Your faces are priceless!' he yelled between his laughter, making the girls turn their heads into his direction. Silver whiped away a tear of joy and concentrated on being serious again.

'It was just so funny, your faces were ... so shocked and yet so disgusted. Amazing.'

'Silence.' Blaze demanded, turning to Amy.

'Do you think she is making the right choice?'

'Blaze, she is old enough for god's sake. Like I said earlier, stop worrying.' Amy said softly.

'Haven't you been wondering where Sonic went?' Blaze asked, rubbing her chin. She hit a nerve there, Amy immediately faced the floor and started fiddling her thumbs nervously. She tried nearly everything to get her mind off of that moron.

'Sorry, I shouldn't have asked.' Blaze apologized soothingly. Without being able to answer someone sat down beside Amy, distracting her from what she was just thinking.

Tikal cupped her face into her hands and sighed loudly, Amy tilted her head and rested her hand on Tikal's shoulder.

'Don't cry, what happened?'

'Oh, nothing.' Tikal said, looking up again. She hasn't been crying, she was obviously just annoyed. 'Rocco's a dork, that's all.'

'Tell me something I didn't know.' Silver blurted out before gulping down another tequila. Blaze shot him a glare, which silenced him immediately.

'Why?' Amy asked confused.

'I thought he is really nice, but it turned out that he was just trying to get into my pants the whole night long, he had a bet with his friend.'

'Typical.' Amy muttered.

'Why are they all the same?' Blaze asked annoyed, Tikal just shrugged.

'Hey! I am different. Show some appreciation.' Silver said, crossing his arms and pouting. Blaze smiled mischievously at his comment.

'We appreciate and honor you, dear Silver.' she said sarcastically, making Amy and Tikal giggle.

'Yeah, yeah, how funny.' was his response.

'Maybe you need to give him a little kiss to cheer him up.' Amy joked with a grin. Silver's eyes shot open and a blush appeared on his muzzle, whilst Blaze remained completely calm, smirking tantalizingly.

'Hope that'll help.' she whispered before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. She backed away and chuckled. Silver rested his gloved hand on the spot where Blaze had just kissed him and stared at her. He was oblivious to the fact that the girls were just messing with him.

Just then Amy heard someone approach them. She looked up and spotted a certain blue hedgehog coming their way, his whole muzzle was covered with lipstick stamps, it was disturbing. She looked around further, trying to spot Stacy, but she was nowhere to be found. In fact, there was only a small amount of people left at the party.

Sonic stopped infront of the four friends and crossed his arms, his feet tapping impatiently.

'What's the big deal?' he asked annoyed.

'What are you talking about?' Silver asked, standing up, but struggled to stand on his own two feet since he was pretty drunk, so he leaned against the tree behind him.

'Man, you smell like a homeless.' Sonic complained. Amy furrowed her brows, her fists clenching.

'What's it to you? Don't you have something else to do?' Silver ranted back.

'Leave my business to me. Feel like Rambo with all those girls surrounding you, huh?'

'Dude, what's the issue?'

'You are my issue right now. Barely able to stand but telling me what to do.' Sonic hissed, his teeth showing as he was growling. Amy got up and walked infront of Silver, opening her arms in a defending way.

'He has done absolutely nothing wrong, he has been nice and caring and it's really none of your business whether he's drinking or not. You left the party early with your rotten slut and I don't understand why you came back in the first place. You left him alone, not the other way 'round.' she snapped at him, a scowl forming on her face. Sonic took a step backwards and placed his hands on his hips.

'Cute, our little Rosy is defending Silver. Spicy.' he teased.

Amy didn't want to aggravate the situation, so she said nothing in return, she bit her tongue harshly, trying to keep her mouth shut. She wanted to throw awful insults at Sonic, but that would lead nowhere.

'Aw, giving up the defense so easily?' Sonic taunted. Amy crossed her arms and had a stern look on her face. She glared at Sonic, growling.

'Just shut your trap and leave, nobody wants you around.'

Sonic chuckled at her comment.

'I sense a lil' jealousy.'

Just then Amy had enough.

'Bullshit. Why would I be jealous of someone like her? You barely even know eachother and she goes home with you, that's so low, something I'd never do and something I am certainly not jealous of. If I wanted you so badly, I could've had you the very first day I got here, don't forget that, hedgehog. You think because you're a guy you get all the girls, but it can be the other around too. I could throw you onto my bed in the blink of an eye, YOU are an easy target, Sonic. I am not someone who's interested in a so called fling, I want romantic feelings, I want devotion, passion and affection, something you've probably never experienced in your life. That's actually quite sad, you've had so many women - and guess what? You think you are a huge player because you play around with their feelings, but I'll tell you something - they don't have feelings, otherwise they wouldn't fall for your traps over and over again. None of these girls has ever loved you, they just wanted the same thing as you. Get laid with no attachments. You'll never experience love or the safety of a relationship as long as you'll stay this way. You're an awful person, that's why I am not even the slightest bit interested in getting to know you any further. I just wish you'd get out of my sight, you're ruining my mood.' she ranted loudly, staring directly into his eyes. He tried to act unimpressed, but her words cut like knives.

- Sonic's POV -

I stood there motionless, staring into her eyes. They were fuming. I looked down at her gloved hands, it looked like she was shaking. Was this really what she thought of me?

I don't even know why I wanted to have a go at Silver, it was annoying me that he was sitting so close to her and it was annoying me that something like that annoyed me. I couldn't think straight anymore. It was silence in the air, nobody said a word, all eyes were on me.

I didn't have a good comeback, so I decided not to say anything at all. My ears drooped and I glanced at her, her jade green eyes looked wet. I didn't expect her to blow up like that, I was just teasing her. Could she actually be right, though?

I never experienced those things she said - affection, devotion, safety, passion and most of all - love. I certainly didn't know those feelings, no one has shown me. Was that because they all weren't interested in me the way I thought? Could it be that all these girls were actually using me? While I was just searching for those emotions?

'AW, giving up the defense so easily, HUH, hedgehog?' she snapped harshly at me. My eyes trailed to the ground, I was unsure what to say.

'I got it.' was all I managed to say, before turning around and walking away. This was highly embarassing.

If my father was here I know exactly what he would say.

'In your face, Sonic.'

Yeah, dad. I know. Right in my face.

This girl said everything I didn't want to hear right in my face.
