I am sorry for taking so long to get back to this story. I did not mean for it to take so long to get back. I had some life issues to happen but I am back with a two parter to make up for it. Please enjoy.

Chapter 7: Countdown

Another year had passed. It had been three days since Kimberly and Tommy had last spoken. Little did they know both were in similar situations.

Angel Grove

"Come on!" The former ranger screamed as he faced off Darkonda's forces. He slammed one in the face with his heal before he back kicked one behind him. Adam flipped over him and swept another, which put it back first onto the ground.

Tommy with a sigh of relief said, "Thanks, Adam."

The green ranger nodded, "Any time, Tommy. Wanna call it?"

Tommy nodded, "It's Morphin' Time!"

The two former rangers activated their Zeonizors.

Adam called, "Zeo Ranger 4 Green!"

The red clad former leader called, "Zeo Ranger 5 Red!"

They appeared in their Zeo Ranger uniforms. Tommy said with an unseen smirk, "Back to action."

On Phaedos, Kimberly was jumping from tree to tree behind her mentor. She was clad in a loose Kunochi top in a deep pink, which ended at her upper thighs. On her wrists, she wore black leather bracers plated in a dull carbon steel along her forearms. Kim wore tabi boots similar to her mentor's, although in black and they came to her calves and the shins armored in the same carbon steel. Her body became much tighter and toned do to her training under Dulcea. The toned thighs worked with each leap as she traversed the tree tops.

Kim landed on a branch beside her mentor, "What's going on? We have been going on for three Terran days."

Dulcea looked to her protege, "The Kyonshi are too active." She visibly shuddered, "They are heading in the direction of the Great Monolith."

Kimberly looked over to her friend, "What happened there, Dulcea?"

Dulcea swallowed slowly, "It is where Ninjor lost everything."

Kim nodded then leaped to the next tree top. Soon they landed where the last test for the great power took place. In its center stood a reanimated green ninjetti ranger and behind him a woman. The woman stood dressed in black leather and carbon steel. Her coat was short enough to just be long sleeves and left the entirety of her torso bare, though she wore a steel bra. Along the sleeves at her forearms were guards made of the same dark metal. The woman's skin tight pants hugged low on her hips. On her shins she wore the same carbon steel. The center of her chest still had muscle and vain exposed.

Her skin was cracked and broken, the left side of her face covered in a mask, which held a red glowing eye. She had long hair, pulled back in a long braid and her bangs remained short over her forehead. At the end of the braid was woven in what appeared to be a scorpion stinger.

She stood swaying as she held a staff almost as tall as her end to the ground. The other end held a blue crystal heart of a seven headed serpent.

Kimberly asked in awe, "Who is that?"

Dulcea answered through clenched teeth, "Zina."

In Angel Grove, Tommy and Adam had taken down dozens of minions ranging from Putties to Cogs to Piranhatrons and Putra Pods. Yet they still continued to attack.

The two stood back to back, Adam looking around, "If TJ and the guys don't hurry we aren't gonna last much longer."

Tommy shook his head, "Keep your head up, Adam. They will beat this guy! Remember how many times it has looked bad before?"

The Green Ranger answered, "I know, but something feels different this time. Like, something really bad is going to happen."

A voice from their past responded, "That is because there is green ranger."

They turned to see Goldar and Scorpina standing at the ready.

Tommy stepped in front of his friend, "Goldar!"

Goldar growled, "Tommy."

Scorpina waved and cooed in a seductive voice, "Hello Adam."

Adam growled, "Scorpina."

She swayed her hips as she pouted, "Awe, Adam don't be that way. We were good once."

The green ranger attacked her with a jumping side kick, which was side stepped, "Then you tried to kill me."

Scorpina whipped her leg up toward Adam's head, which he countered with his own shin. She responded at the same moment, "It was what my Empress demanded."

The green brought his leg back up. This time he connected with her shoulder as she connected with his using the same type of kick. It knocked them both sideways. He screamed, "All the time I defended you to my friends! Especially Aisha!"

They thrust kicked each other in the chest. The power they'd generated pushed them away from each other. Adam almost sounded like he was crying when he admitted, "The worst part was I actually liked you!"

Scorpina couldn't find it in herself to call him a fool. She didn't even press her attack immediately. She took a glance at her fellow soldier.

Goldar swung his sword, though the red ranger rolled out of way. The golden ape-like monster growled, "Fight me, red ranger! Don't tell me the great Tommy Oliver is afraid."

"You wish, ape breath," Tommy responded as he pulled out his Zeo Saber. "I was just evening the playing field."

The two eternal rivals crossed swords. Tommy kicked the gold armored warrior away. Then he cut the winged ape across the chest twice.

On Phaedos Kimberly had leaped down and with her new weapons, two wakizashi's, cut down the undead creatures. Ash followed each of her arching swings.

On the other side of the platform Dulcea was also surrounded. Every motion of her blade cut down Kyonshi. Slowly as the legions of undead were cut down, the master and apprentice closed in on each other.

Kimberly, out of breath, spoke as she got back to back with her mentor, "Okay, maybe splitting up wasn't one of my better ideas."

Dulcea shook her head, "No, the concept was sound. We didn't know that Zina had enough power to summon every Kyonshi on the planet here."

Kim nodded, "We kill Zina again and they go back to aimless wandering, right?"

The eternal responded, "Yes. You start clearing a path. I will be right behind you."

Kimberly nodded grimly, "Right." She then shifted her grip and with a practiced ease she dodged the attacks of the undead hoard. Each dodge was followed by a slash of one of her blades.

Dulcea stood tall with her legs shoulder width apart. She then shifted so one arm was behind her and one was by her face. With a flick of wrist, a morpher appeared on her wrist.

The guardian of Phaedos grabbed the key in her morpher, "Order of Meridian!" She pulled out the key which glowed with a green light, "Ranger form!" She wrote with the light the word OWL in kanji, "Green!"

She slammed the key back into the morpher, her wrists became covered in green energy as her ranger form covered her body. The last part was her helmet, her visor which slammed closed over her eyes.

Her ranger suit looked like poured on latex. The back of her hands, her forearms, and shins were protected by cold steel. Below the waist to her tabi covered toes was glistening and her torso and gloves were deep forest green. She wore a golden leather vest, connected to her gold belt. The buckle engraved with the head of an owl. The vest at its shoulders was armored with a gold colored metal. Along the green top, a gold accent covered it in the shape of samurai layered vestments. The Helmet was fashioned after an owl. The visor its eyes, the mouth-guard its pointed beak and the bottom flanged out like neck feathers.

She got into her hero stance, which had her arms raised like wings, and called out, "Meridian Ranger Four, Green. The Ranger of Wisdom, Owl!"

Kim was half way to Zina. Suddenly her eyes glowed pink and dilated for but a second. However, the effect was instant. Time stopped to her.

The enemy Kimberly had just swept the feet from under was suspended in the air. She contemplated for but a moment what it meant before Kim drove one of her wakizashi's into it's chest. The dusting, as she thought of the effect in her head, was even in slow motion. To the untrained eye Kimberly was nothing more than a pink streak. She moved with the fluidity of a dancer, each movement having turned a Kyonshi to a pile of ashes.

She fought until suddenly, her blades were stopped with a jolt. Before Dulcea's student was an undead green ranger. Two kama's had hooked her wakizashis. With a flick of the wrists Kimberly was spinning in midair only to be ax kicked to the ground. The undead Sakura rested his foot on her chest.

On Earth Tommy hit the ground shoulder first. Goldar laughed as he stomped up to the fallen ranger. "Hurts doesn't it, Red Ranger?" the winged ape mocked.

As Tommy got to his knees, the foot of the armored fiend connected with his abs. He went airborne only to be caught by Rocky.

"You okay, Tommy?" Rocky asked, already morphed.

Tommy nodded, "Yeah, just winded." He then asked, "Are the others safe?"

Rocky nodded, "Told you I could handle it. Trini, Zack and Jase were pissed when I told them to stay put."

The red ranger nodded, "Better pissed off and alive, than dead at the hands of one of Lieutenants."

Goldar swung his sword between the two rangers. Rocky responded in offbeat fashion, "Whoa! That is one thing I don't miss about being a ranger."

He was suddenly kicked in the back, "Then you're gonna hate this."

The blue ranger responded as he flipped up to his feet, "I knew I smelled something funny."

Rito laughed, "Awe, thanks. I do try."

Rocky summoned his Power Axes. He swung one, as Rito dodged he tried to attack but Rocky blocked with his other weapon, "Nope, try again." He then slashed Rita's brother across the chest.

The camouflage colored skeleton whined as he stumbled, "No fair, you got two of 'em. It is two right?" Counting his fingers with the last question.

The blue ranger laughed, "You hate that? Then you're really going to hate this." He threw one into the air, Rito followed the thrown axe, "Wha'?!" He didn't even notice Rocky pull his sidearm until he got shot four times in the chest in quick succession.

As Rito fell Rocky holstered his blaster and caught his weapon, "Didn't you absolutely hate that trick?"

All Rito did in response was look at him and let his head fall back to the ground.

Tommy rolled to his sword. Once he got it back, he barely raised it in time to block Goldar's downward arch. The already kneeling Ranger felt the asphalt crumble under him. He shoved the monster's weapon away. Goldar in a rage lifted his sword. Golden electricity arched from it. Tommy leaped away as the ground exploded from under him.

As the other battles occurred, Adam and Scorpina were deadlocked. Every punch was met with a similar attack by the other combatant. Adam struck with a left hook only for it to be deflected by Scorpina, who countered with an open palm strike to his jaw. The green ranger raised his knee to the gold clad woman as he arched his body away. She thrust her foot to his midsection. They both slid away from each other.

Adam held his chest, "Scorpina, this is getting us nowhere. Why do you insist to keep fighting!"

"It's what my Empress demands!" the woman screamed. She then looked away, "And all I know." With a grim look she summoned her giant boomerang. She then threw it at the Zeo ranger.

Adam deflected it, but just barely. Adam screamed, "Don't do this, please! You're better than this!"

Scorpina screamed as she ran at the green clad warrior. In quick order with his Hatchets, Adam had her face first in the pavement.
