Two chapters in one day!? What is this madness! Anyway, on with the story.

"So I watched the feed on the cameras as I deleted the footage, and I have to say, we're probably going to be unstoppable now," Tech informed us. I guess now's a good time to go over who's who with Sapphire.

"OK Sapphire, that's your uncle Simon," I said pointing to Blade, "and your uncle Jake," I said pointing to Tech. "Call them Blade and Tech on missions only, Ok?" I explained to her. "We're thieves, who steal from rich people for money, but you mustn't tell anyone about it or daddy and your uncles are going to jail alright?" I hope she understood how dangerous it was for her to tell anyone outside the few true friends I had about my secret.

"OK daddy, I won't tell anyone about your job," she said happily. She was so innocent, yet had seen so much horror in her life judging by her condition when I had found her. Who could do that to a little girl and sleep at night? Well I guess if it didn't happen, we wouldn't have met so I can't complain too much.

"So, you mind telling me what this stuff is?" I asked Jake. "Found this stuff in the Atom's vault, figured you could pull up what it is on your computer." I pulled out the red and blue liquids from my bag and put them on Jake's scanner, and I put the armor on the examination table. "Also if you could explain what the hell happened to me and Simon, I'd be grateful for the help."

"Sure thing." Jake spun around and got to work find information on the liquids I collected on the job.

"Oh and here's your cut." I handed him $3500 I got from the vault. "And here's yours Simon," I said giving him the same amount. I kept $7000 dollars, but I told them the extra money I was keeping and they understood. I had a kid now after all. I'd need the extra dough to keep me, my mom, and now Sapphire under a roof and fed properly.

"Well thanks," Simon yawned and stretched, "but I'm going to bed, taking those guys down really wore me down. See ya later Shad."

"See ya!" I called to the fatigued brawn of the group.

"Alright I got something on it," Jake told me. I ran over to check what he found on the monitor. It was a news article that was published yesterday: "…Adam, a miracle drug that gives people fantastic powers to the people that use it, and Eve the fuel for it, has just been released," was the basic jist of it. It seemed to be removed from the internet from the government and this was a cached image. Probably to keep it under wraps so criminals couldn't get their hands on it. Too late now, the splicers apparently knew, along with my team.

"So it looks like one of us needs to steal a machine that turns Adam into powers then," I told my close friend. Jake had been with me since the group started. He was just a homeless guy hacking ATM's until I found him. Simon was a convicted killer, but that was insanity. He took pills to keep it under control, and even then he vented what wasn't fully taken care of on our missions.

"I could probably get one if I do enough digging," Jake suggested. I smiled, this was right up his alley. If anyone had to do it, it'd be him.

"Alright then, next time I'm here then. But for now I gotta bring Sapphire home. See ya man," I said to my friend leaving with Sapphire sleeping in my arms.

"Oh and I'll check out the armor you brought too!" Jake yelled to me.

"Thanks!" I yelled back. My friends were awesome.

I took the rooftops home, put my stuff back in my hiding spot, and went inside my window through the fire escape. I tucked Sapphire into bed and went for a cup of Sprite before putting on my PJ's and going to sleep for the true hell in the morning; school.
