This chapter is slightly rated M. Slightly. Just saying.

Chapter 7

Two weeks go by without any surprise visits from Walsh, and Emma can feel the tension leave her each day that passes. People keep asking her what happened because she seems happier, and she just laughs them off. She knows she can tell them she's in a, as Ruby calls it, "relationship-like thing", but she wants to keep it quiet for as long as possible.

And even though she brushes off all the gushy "you've changed so much" comments from her friends and coworkers, Emma can't deny that Killian hasn't changed her. She has been less grumpy (as Ruby and Regina pointed out several times) and overall happier with her life ever since he stood up for her at the wedding. She supposedly changed him for the better as well, according to Robin, whom she finally met at one of their and practices, and David. For the first time in the last two years, Emma is truly happy. Everyday, she wakes up next to man who cares for her, goes to work with her hilarious, though sometimes troublesome, students, and comes home to find her boyfriend usually playing the guitar quietly on the couch.

Sometimes, Emma doesn't understand why Killian is still with her. Besides the fact that he's been staying over every night now, nothing has happened between them, and he isn't pushing her. He looks at her and treats her like she's the world to him, from kissing her before they leave for work and right when she gets home to cooking for her when she feels like shit, and all it does is make her fall even for him even more. He's also been incredibly patient with her, and she's grateful for that, but Emma knows that they've both waited long enough.

.

For the first time in what seems like months, Emma has a whole afternoon free of grading, which is the perfect amount of time for her to go shopping. She's packing her purse when her door opens and slams closed, making her jump.

"Emma! Are you ready for our Disney movie medley?" Her friend walks into the kitchen with a confused look on her face. "Where are you going?"

Emma groans. "Crap. I'm so sorry, Ruby. I completely forgot about that."

"But where are you going?"

"Shopping."

Ruby's face instantly lights up like a kid's on Christmas morning. "Shopping? I'm totally coming with you."

"No, I'm getting personal stuff."

"Oh come on. I've gotten tampons for you before."

"Not that kind of stuff. It's different."

"What the hell are you buying, Ems?"

Emma lets out another groan, before averting her eyes to the floor and scratching the back of her neck. "Lingerie," she mumbles as quickly and quietly as possible.

(But Ruby, her hearing as sharp as a wolf's, easily picks it up.)

Ruby looks puzzled at first, but it's gone within seconds and her eyes widen and she starts to laugh. "Oh I'm definitely coming with you now."

"What? No!"

"Why not? I can help you choose out something hot and sexy."

"Ruby-"

"Come on." The brunette takes the blonde's arm and drags her out of the apartment. "This is going to be so much fun!" Ruby squeals.

Emma, despite herself, laughs. "Only you would think bra shopping is fun."

.

"Who're ya calling?"

"Killian."

"Ooh is it date night tonight? What are you guys going to do? Go to a fancy restaurant and watch an opera?"

The blonde narrows her eyes at Ruby. "No. And you know how much operas bore me. Now shut up so I can call him."

Her friend just smirks and turns her eyes back to the road. Emma puts her phone up to her ear and waits, absentmindedly drumming her fingers on the dashboard.

"Emma?"

"Hey. I just wanted to let you know I might not be there when you get home."

"Should I be worried?"

"No I'm just going shopping with Ruby, and who knows how long that'll take." Emma winces as the brunette punches her arm and sticks her tongue at her.

She hears Killian laugh on the other side of the call. "Well have fun, lass."

"How's it going at the music shop?"

"A bit hectic, per usual, but Mr. Gold is really starting to piss me off. I swear, I want to strangle that bloody croc-"

"Killian, behave."

He sighs. "As you wish."

Emma grins at that and laughs quietly. "I'll see you later."

"Goodbye, love."

She hangs up the phone and puts it back in her purse, not noticing that she's still grinning like an idiot from their conversation. She can see Ruby staring at her from the corner of her eye, so she turns her head and shoots her a look. "What?"

Ruby rolls her eyes and focuses back to the road again. "You guys are gross," she says, despite the grin on her face.

Despite herself, Emma smiles and brings her attention to the world outside her window, and she can feel her cheeks flushing. "Shut up."

.

When a pair of neon pink panties hits her head, she does her best to ignore it, but when another pair is slung at her, Emma swivels around and glares at her friend. "What?"

"What's the occasion?"

"That's none of your business."

Ruby nods and beings going through the next painfully bright pink colored drawer full of underwear. "Have you guys even had sex yet?" When the blonde just gives her a glare in response, she laughs. "So that's why you're going shopping."

"Shut up."

"What? I'm not judging. But this means you have to choose something super hot."

Emma rolls her eyes. "Can you not-"

"But don't worry. I am here to help. And you can trust me because I am one of your best friends, for starters, and because I have good taste in lingerie. At least according to Victor."

"Ew. Okay, I've heard enough. We're leaving."

"No no no," Ruby exclaims, grabbing Emma by the arm and yanking her back into the store, "at least try these on."

Emma scrunched her nose as her friend handed her a bra. "Pink? Pink is so... Not me."

"But look how pretty it is!"

"No pink. Let's just keep looking and get this over with."

They continue to search through drawers, occasionally pulling out a bra to show the other, only to be rejected. (Who knew that some people are willing to pay $100 for just one bra.) (It isn't even that pretty.) Emma's feet are beginning to hurt from her heels (why she wore heels, she doesn't know) and she's about ready to give up and head back to her apartment when she pulls open a drawer and gasps. She picks the bra up, still in trying to figure of how a bra could be so gorgeous. It's made of black lace with a gold lining and all Emma can think about is wearing it every single day for the rest of her life.

"Oh my god." The blonde looks over her shoulder to find Ruby staring at the bra, grinning like an idiot. "That just screams sexy. You have to get it."

"Let me just check the price to see-"

"Who cares about the price? Buy it! You know, it's okay to splurge every so often."

She looks from the bra, to the brunette, back to the bra, and finally back to her friend before sighing and smiling. "Oh alright."

Ruby squeals and they walk to the register with linked arms. "You have to text Killian and tell him you're coming home with a surprise."

Emma smirks. "I have a better idea."

.

Emma opens the door, sets her purse down, and throws her keys on the closest table she sees.

"Emma?" Killian calls from the distance, and a small grin breaks out on her face as she makes her way to the kitchen, the pink little bag from her purchase in hand. She finds him sitting at the kitchen island, staring at his laptop and occasionally typing a few words. Once he notices her presence, he smiles. "Successful shopping spree?"

"It wasn't a spree, but yes."

Killian rolls his eyes, letting out a light chuckle. "I never understand how you ladies can shop for hours. Shopping just seems so tiresome and boring."

"Well you're wrong about that." Emma drops the bag in front of him on the kitchen island and walks to the opposite side of the room. "Don't you want to see what I bought?"

He takes the bag and looks inside. "It's empty."

"It's not empty."

"Well there's a receipt but nothing else."

"Read it." She watches as his eyes scan the thin piece of paper and smirks as he slowly brings his eyes to meet hers.

"So..." Killian starts, clearing his throat, "where is it?"

Emma just shrugs in response, turning her back to him and opening the refrigerator. "Where it should be."

"Which is?"

"Under my clothes."

She hears the laptop slam closed and before she can turn around, his body is pressed against her back, his hot breathe grazing the top of her ear. "You're a bloody tease, you know that," Killian whispers, his voice low and gravely, making the heat in her stomach curl.

Emma turns around, keeping her gaze fixed on his, smirking when his eyes flash darker. "But if I just showed you, that would take the fun out of it."

"What's the occasion, love? Our first date was a month ago last Monday."

She tries not to melt at the fact that he remembers that, so she brings her hands up the buttons of her shirt, slowly beginning to undo them, one by one. "No occasion. Just wanted to give you a little surprise." She spreads the material so her whole torso (and new bra) is exposed, and judging by the way Killian sucks in a sharp breath through his teeth, he likes her new purchase.

"Well," he says, bringing his hands to her hips and pressing her up against the refrigerator, "the surprise is very much appreciated." He leans in and kisses her with the same amount of (or possibly more) passion of their first kiss, letting out a low groan from the back of his throat in approval as she plays with his hair at the nape of his neck.

Emma tries her best not to release a moan as she feels his bulge forming in his jeans and grabs his shirt to pulls him closer. She presses her forehead against his, already breathless. "I'm glad you like it, but I can easily get rid of it."

"Only if you want to."

At that, she lets her shirt fall off her shoulders and arms as she reaches back and undoes the clasps, her new bra joining her shirt on the floor. His lips claim hers again as soon as her arms come from behind her back, and she makes no effort to hold back any sign that she's enjoying this, smiling against his lips and tangling her fingers in his dark hair. Killian breaks away and begins to slowly plant wet kisses down her neck and chest until he stops between her breasts, gently nipping the tender skin of each before continuing down her bare stomach. Emma lets out a small moan once he reaches the top of her jeans, and she can feel the want settling between her legs. She grabs his shirt and pulls him back up and kisses him, toying with the hem and pressing her fingers against his toned abdomen. He suddenly breaks away, making her whimper in protest, but it immediately dies as soon as he pulls his shirt over his head and bringing their lips back together.

"Bedroom. Now," Emma manages to whisper and he happily complies.

Killian backs her up to her room, gently pushing her onto her bed and hovering over her and gazing up and down her body with hungry eyes. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to do this."

Emma lets out a breathy laugh and nips his bottom lip. "Well then, show me what you've got."

He grins at her and in a matter of seconds, their clothes are scattered across the floor, leaving both of them bare, and he does indeed show he what he can do.

(Multiple times.)
