I've always been fascinated with the idea of Sam and Dean having a sister, but no matter what scenario I thought of I realized it would just mess up their brotherly bond and that would just be terrible. Buuut, I still have to try my hand at it because it won't leave me alone until I do. Hope I put a twist on it that hasn't been done before, but we'll see what ya'll think of it. :)

They Had a Sister
They never told anyone about her. She was their secret, his and Sam's. No one knew she existed, not even Dad. They knew she shouldn't exist—Dad had drilled it into them over and over again: spirits are bad—but they didn't care. She was their secret and that was how it would stay. Dad was wrong, their sister wouldn't hurt a fly.
She had come to him after the fire, a six-year old miniature of his mom. He never had to ask, he somehow just knew she was his sister, a sister he had never met. She comforted him the first time Dad came home smelling of whiskey. She helped him look after Sam, praising him when Dad never did. When he was old enough, she told him how Mom had lost her after carrying her for only three months; she had never even been given a name so Dean kept it simple: Sis.
Sammy couldn't imagine a life without her. She was there when Dean wasn't, calming him down after a fight with Dad. He never broached the subject with Dad—Sis was their secret, his and Dean's and that's how it was going to stay. They knew they should salt and burn her, but they never even thought of it. She was a Winchester, a sibling, just as much as either of them.
Dad never saw her; they wouldn't let him. They knew that he would banish her without asking questions. She was their little secret, their sister, and that's how it was going to stay.
