Chapter-7
She's mine!
His glances ended upon her perfectly sound sleeping face every time. She was so beautiful that he couldn't take his eyes off. He let out a giggle as he thought about what she revealed about 'their' argument. Somehow, he thought it wasn't possible for them to stay away from each other but that is what the reality is now. How could they fight? He still remembered the very first time they met and how close their relationship was…. It was really hard to imagine them to fight and separate…

"Lucy Heartfilia….?" The black haired boy looked at her with a shocked look. He had never seen a girl more beautiful than her. Her blonde hair swaying with the wind, her brown eyes sparkling with joy, her smile that can heal a wounded heart and her hand that she offered to him to take it….. everything seemed perfect… She was so perfect.
He took her hand as he stood up, from his sitting position on the ground.
"Ash Blakes… Glad meeting you…." He said, returning a smile of his own.
Soon, her eyebrows furrowed as she looked in the other direction. The noise from all the fight has deceased. What was left was only ash and you know who it was.
"Are you hurt, Lucy?" the black head asked, seeing the slight scratches on her hand.
"Daijo obu! I'm all fine…" she replied nodding her head, but her eyes didn't seem to leave the direction of the valley.
"Are you alright, Ash?" she asked. He looked at her, his eyes went a little wide.
"I-I- I'm fine" he managed to say.
"She just called me by my name" he thought.
"After all, you guys took all the pain to save me… Thank you for saving me. I never thought anyone will ever come to this place," he said.
"It's no problem. You're just like a nakama, right?" she replied, smiling at him.
He smiled at her as a slight blush formed on his face. Did he fall for her already when he just met her for the first time in life? Is this what is called 'love in first sight'?
"Lucy, Watchout!" he shouted as he snapped out of his thoughts.
A giant spider like beast was fast approaching her. She quickly dodged it as she ran beside him, taking out herFleuve d'etoiles as she got ready for a fight.
"Gate of the Goat, I open thee! Capricorn!" She said as the spirit appeared before them.
The black head was quite shocked as her magic was revealed to him. Celestial spirit wizards were so rare nowadays. And she was one of them who possess this rare magic. Not losing his own ground and also to show off his power to her, he had the wind wound round his hand as a magic seal appeared.
"So, you're a wind magic user?" she said, smiling.
"Hai!" he replied, as the fight began.

They never thought the beast to overpower them. They never imagined it to be so powerful. He already fell to the ground, unable to move even his fingers. She could barely stand as she consumed a lot of power while summoning the spirits. Where is Natsu at a time like this?
She tried to stand up. She had to protect that man, lying on the ground. They had took up the job. They cannot back down. Natsu had took so much of pain in freeing him from the dark prison he was kept in. She cannot let his efforts go in vain.
She stood up, making her way to the beast. It growled as if it was annoyed. (Though it looked like a spider, it had a mouth). She spread her hands as if trying to protect something from it.
"I'm not going to hand over him to you" she said
Ash's eyes went wide. Why is she risking so much for someone like him? Someone who's been alone for so long…? This is the way it should be.. No, this isn't the way it should be!
"Then, I'll get my way cleared…" the beast said.
She closed her eyes, tears forming at the corners.
"Gomenasai…Natsu" she said, getting ready to take the blow.
Before the beast could even reach her shadow, It turned all to ash. And there stood the pink- haired man she was worried sick about.
She opened her eyes, wondering why she couldn't feel the impact till then, only to see the dragon slayer standing in front of her with his back facing her, his hand still lit in flames.
"Natsu?" she said, more tears forming in her chocolate brown orbs.
"No one dares make Lucy cry and survive even after," he said, turning back, only to be tackled by the blonde.
"Where were you idiot? I was worried sick," she said, burying her head into his chest.
A grin plastered on his face as he saw the blonde safe. He wrapped his arms around her waist as he returned back the hug.
"I'm sorry, Lucy…" he said, "But I'm glad I made it in time,"
The very sight of this gave the black head a weird feeling. Why does it have to happen when he has finally found someone? He saw the blonde lying calm in his arms, as if she had no fear of being harmed. An expression of "This-is-my-safest-place-in-the-world" took over her face as she smiled, more peacefully. He had never seen her smile like that before. Not in their small encounter…
Did she fall in love with that new guy he saw right now?...

"Lucy…" he called her name.
She looked at him; a serious expression crowded her face as she saw him. He was serious, unlike usual.
"What's the matter, Ash?" she asked in her sweet voice.
"I thought I never tell you this…. But then, I didn't want to be a coward to keep it hidden in my heart, to not face my fears. I don't know If I'd ever get that place in your heart but still I want you to know…." He said, without a pause that made her take a minute to digest what he has said so far.
"What is it?" she said, seeming to understand what he was going to say.
"I love you, Lucy… ever since I first met you… I've loved you ever since that very moment…." He said, looking away from her. "It's okay if you don't feel the same way about me…. I just wanted you to know,"
Lucy seemed troubled with this. Very very troubled. Sweat formed on her forehead as she placed a hand on her heart.
"What's the matter? Is it troubling you?" he asked worried.
"No, it's not like that. It's my first time hearing someone confess to me, so it feels a little weird. Sure, Now, I understand why Aquarius keeps nagging me about having a boyfriend…" she paused, seeming unsure of what she was about to say.
"It's not like rejecting you or anything. But still I've never seen you that way…" she said, not beating the bushes, "Sorry if you're hurt"
"No, it's no problem… Is it because you love someone else?" he asked.
"No, no, no, no! It's nothing like that! I hope Happy's not hearing this… I sure have a family to love back there…. I don't know why but I just can't love you back" she said, before leaving him.
He was sad. May be really sad. It's the first time he has confessed to someone, only to be rejected. He had known this beforehand and yet he still is sad.

She lay down on the grass, beside the pink head, looking at the stars, spacing out.
"Lucy, Lucy!" the dragon slayer was yelling her name out but it wouldn't work.
He looked at her, as she didn't even bother to respond to him. He placed his hand on her cheek turning her to face him.
"What's the matter, Lucy? You seem too spaced out…" he asked worried.
The blonde just snuggled close to him, resting her head on his chest. This made the dragon slayer's eyes go wide. She never snuggled close to him. Something must be seriously wrong he thought.
"Natsu, today I broke someone's heart…" she said, a tear rolled down her cheeks as she said this.
"What? Is that even possible?" he asked, innocently. He could never imagine breaking someone's heart.
"You idiot, I didn't mean that! Can't you even act as not being dumb?" she asked, shouting at the fire mage.
"How do you do that?" he asked her dumbly.
"Now what should I do with you?" she said, holding her head down as if annoyed.
"Just give yourself a break… You can always come to me if you've got any problem. I'll protect you from anything Lucy!" he said, lighting his hand on fire.
"Sure…" she said, as she fell asleep in his arms soon as she stopped crying.
"I wonder how you'll do, Lucy… You're such a good person, I've met" he said in a low voice, so as not to disturb her sleep.

"I never understood then, Lucy. But now when I think of it, may be you loved him right from the start but you seemed to be quite oblivious to the fact…. Anyway, I'm glad. Even though, it took you so much of time to realise it, I'm glad you figured it out atleast now. As said, better late than never… And I'm happy for you," the black haired guy thought as he saw her sleeping, thinking of his own past.

All was wrong with our dear dragon was stirring him from inside and he didn't know what. Was it something that had to do with Lucy? Why could he not forget her hugging him? Was it what is called jealous? Natsu Dragneel and jealous? When did that happen?
"I bet I'm going to hit him badly. But she did reject him then, right ? Why now? " he thought.
"I'm going to show myself to her tomorrow," he growled to himself, as he was still getting pissed off thinking of the sight he witnessed a moment before.
Me: I guess I'm making really short chapter. My coursework and exams are draining me out completely. So, that's it, I guess for now.

"Lucy!" he called her name.
"It just felt like Natsu calling me," she thought as she turned back to see who it is. But there was none.
"May be, I'm imagining things again. I'm so much obsessed with him," she said to herself in a low voice, somewhat sad.
"
Natsu: What! You don't have to do that!
Me: Time to go home! Bye for now!
Natsu: Hey! Wait!
Me: Arigatou, minna!
