"Get everything figured out?" Bekah asked looking at the grin I couldn't erase from my features.

"Am I that obvious?" I joked.

"Well, that infectious smile you are currently wearing was a sort of dead give away." I laughed, feeling grateful to have gotten Rebekah back as a friend. We had so many memories together and so many laughs. She was basically the sister that I never had and I couldn't even fathom life without her.

"We had plans to meet up tomorrow morning to talk because I knew that I wasn't over him. So, he tried to apologize and I just told him that I could forgive him, but it would take longer to forget. He figured out that I was agreeing to get back together with him and then he offered to heal my ankle." I gave her the details of what went down.

"You do know how whipped you have him, right? When we were growing up, Kol was the only one who never actually grew up. He had a new slut every night and may not even know their name in the morning. Kol has always been the most immature of my brothers until he met you. You changed him Dani, he's much more mature and settled down. My brother is his happiest when he's with you." I took a moment to process what she was saying. No matter if we fought or whatever, I knew that he never would cheat on me. Kol may be immature at times as well, but he always knew when enough was enough.

"I really am lucky to have him, Kol's a great guy." I smiled.

"Now, enough about my brother. Do you want to go out clubbing?" She smirked.

"Nah, it's not like I can dance anyway, how about a movie and take-out?" I suggested.

"Chinese food and Sharknado?" She asked smirking.

"Oh hell yeah! Who doesn't love Chinese take- out and horror movies!? I've never seen Sharknado before; is it good?" I asked getting excited.

"It's pretty good, on the extremely cheesy side of horror movies. It's about this weird tornado with sharks in it that this guy is trying to stop. Trust me, you'll like it." I was preparing myself for what sounded like an amazing movie.

"I'm in I'll order the food and you can pull up the movie on Netflix." I suggested.

After the movie:

The credits started rolling and I was dramatically clapping insanely slowly before jumping up. "Are you shitting me? That was best fucking shark movie I've ever seen!" I exclaimed.

"I shit you not! It is an awesome movie though." We both fell over from laughing so hard.

"What do we have here?" Klaus came walking in, raising an eyebrow at our rolling around on the floor.

"That was the best movie I have ever seen, you should watch Sharknado, Klaus!" I exclaimed.

"I don't think I will, love. That sounds completely and utterly ridiculous." He rolled his eyes.

"What if I got Kol to watch it with you?" I tried to tempt him.

"Not happening, I have no desire to watch your idiotic movie." I frowned and tried giving him puppy dog eyes.

"Dani, it's not going to work, he's a total buzzkill." Bekah spoke up.

"I'm not a buzzkill, don't you remember the twenties?" Klaus defended himself.

"Just bringing that up you're picking a fight, Nik, so you'd be better off going and painting or something." She was getting annoyed by him, so I decided to step in.

"We're having a girls night, so if you could please find something else to do, that would be great." I stood up pushing his shoulder.

"I don't respond well to other people giving me orders, I'll have you know." He stepped closer to me.

"And I'll have you know that I don't appreciate being threatened by jackasses." I didn't back down. He leaned forward a little bit, as if to kiss me, and I hit him in the crotch with my casted leg. He fell on the floor, giving me the chance to back up. "I'm with Kol, you ass!" I yelled at him.

"That's my girl!" I heard from the door. Kol was prancing in and helped me get up, kissing my cheek. "What the hell is going on?" Kol glared at Klaus.

"Your little bitch decided that it was okay to push me." Kol tried to push me behind him, but I wouldn't let him.

"You're such an idiot! Every guy knows not to invade on a girls night!" I yelled.

"She's quite right, Nik." Kol chimed in, somewhat helpfully. Klaus glared at him in response.

"We're surrounded by idiots, Dani!" Rebekah complained.

I moved right next to her and whispered, "want me to get them out of here?" I offered smirking. She nodded, so I limped in front of Kol, grabbed his face and started making out with him.

"What the hell? I didn't think that was what you meant!" Rebekah turned away and Kol started getting into it. We were heatedly making out when Rebekah cleared her throat. "He's gone, Dani. You can stop now." I pulled away from Kol blushing.

"Sorry about that, Beks, it is the fail safe way to get other people out of the room." I shrugged.

"That was... Uh..." Kol was at a loss for words.

"Now for the babbling idiot." Rebekah rolled her eyes.

"Glad you enjoyed my distraction." I smirked at him.

"Feel free to use me to get other people out of the room any time, love. I'm a more than willing participant, although, a little prior warning would be appreciated." I giggled.

"Sure thing, now could you please leave us to our girls night?" I asked him sweetly.

"Well, I'd prefer to have you in my bed instead of Rebekah's, but you know where to find me if you change your mind." He left, still stunned by my little attack.

"Now that they're gone, we can watch more movies!" I clapped. "How about Jersey Shore Shark Attack?" I asked glancing at the suggested movies.

"Sounds pretty cheesy, let's do it!" She exclaimed.

About two and a half hours later, it was about midnight and the movie was over. "That was good, but I feel as if I would enjoy it more if I was actually awake." I complained.

"Touche... Okay, I need sleep, so I'm going to hit the sack." She yawned and crawled into bed.

"Night, Bekah." I crawled in next to her and fell asleep within seconds of my head hitting the pillow.

I woke up to feeling a familiar pair of lips against mine. "Wake up, love." Kol whispered.

"Morning breath!" I quietly screeched, not wanting him to smell that.

"Don't worry, you're fine, but did someone forget that they promised me a date this morning?" He chuckled, picking me up and pulling me into the hall.

"I figured that we'd skip that because we talked yesterday and I'm here anyway." I explained as he smiled at me.

"You don't get off that easy, Dani. You can join me in bed," he raised his eyebrows suggestively. "Or we could go get breakfast. Which'll it be?" He smirked.

"Kol, put me down, I need more sleep!" I complained.

"I'll take that as the first option, so you're stuck with me!" He smirked, opening his door and dropping me gently on his bed. I rolled my eyes, but started dozing off again. Before I was completely asleep, I felt his muscular arm wrap around me torso, pulling me closer.

I woke up to the sound of chuckling. My eyelids slowly rose. "Bed hopping now, are we love?" Klaus was laughing sinisterly.

"Shut up, Nik." Kol grumbled.

"Was there something you needed?" I threw a pillow at him and he caught it easily.

"Yes, my little brother here actually was going to run an errand for me. I was seeing that he would follow through." Klaus explained, irritably.

"I don't want to go to Denver, Nik, make Elijah do it." Kol complained.

"It wouldn't work, you look the youngest out of all of us, so just go to Colorado." Kol looked at me.

"If I go, Dani has to come." I shot him a look of confusion.

"Why is he making you go in the first place?" I raised an eyebrow.

"He's being a distraction, if you must know, love." Klaus chimed in.

"Fine, I'll go, but remember that you owe me a favor, Klaus." I agreed.

"You'll never require my help in the way most others do, but fine, just get Kol to go." He groaned.

"Dani, why are you awake? It's not your usual weekend noon wake up." Rebekah asked.

"Ugh, I agree, Kol dragged me in here a while ago and then he woke me up again." I complained, glaring at Klaus.

"Whatever, now that you're up, I want breakfast and Elijah's not here to make it, so..." She looked at me expectantly.

"You want my famous stuffed French toast." I finished knowingly.

"If you plan to make it, I'd love some, too!" Kol smiled.

"Why are you asking your guest to make you breakfast?" Klaus asked, confused and I just laughed.

"As you know, neither of them are like anyone else and they don't agree with that kind of stuff. Plus, I've known them for a few years, so we're over pretending." I explained.

"Oh, then I guess you don't mind cooking, do you need any help?" He offered and Kol stuck his arm around me.

"I think I'm okay. This one doesn't like when other guys cook with me." I smirked at Kol.

"Okay then, I'm just going to..." He pointed away and walked out.

"Now that we're alone again, what's the secret to your French toast?" Kol held my hands behind my back and started tickling me.

"The world will never know!" I laughed and he straddled me, tickling me more to the point that I was short of breath from laughing so hard. "Okay! I give." I laughed, sitting up. "The secret is..." I paused, hoping for a dramatic effect, which was broken by my phone ringing.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Uh, hi Dani, we need to talk." I heard Caroline's voice coming through the speakers with a sad tone.

"Sure, what's the matter, Caroline?" I was getting worried.

"My mom was working and when she was trying to arrest a drug dealer, she got shot in the stomach." I could tell that Caroline was trying not to cry.

"Oh my god, is she okay? Do you need me to come down there?" I asked, trying to hold back my own shock.

"She won't let me give her blood and the doctors don't know if she'll make it." Caroline cried out and I started gathering my stuff.

"Listen to me, Care, your mother is a fighter. She wouldn't let something like this pull her down. I'll be there as soon as I can, but for now, try not to be alone. Stay with a friend or whoever, I'll be there by tonight." I tried to reassure her.

"Thank you, Dani, please hurry." She hung up and I looked to Kol apologetically.

"I really have to go to Virginia, I'm sorry, I'll see you soon." I could feel myself start to tear up.

"You can't drive in this condition, I'm coming with you. Give me two minutes to pack a bag, then we can stop at your place, pack your bag and go." Kol proclaimed and as I tried to object, he stopped me and I just whispered, "thank you."

I gave Kol directions to the hospital as we passed the sign. The car ride went by incredibly quickly and I was worrying the whole time about Aunt Liz. As soon as he stopped, I ran inside to the reception desk and asked for the room number, which they wouldn't give to me.

"Just tell me the damn room! I just want to see my aunt!" I yelled at the nurse and I felt Kol walk up behind me and compel the woman to tell me. When she said "219" I found the room as quickly as I could and went in to find a distraught Caroline who hugged me crying.

"Sweetie, it's okay, she'll be okay." I tried to console her.

"How do you know that? Look at her, she's a mess!" Caroline cried.

"I don't know, Care. That's the problem, every day, Aunt Liz goes out protecting the people in this town, she never deserved this." I began crying and we just stood there bawling our eyes out.

"Excuse-me, which one of you is Caroline Forbes?" The doctor, a woman wearing a white lab coat asked. Caroline stepped forward and the doctor continued. "I'm Dr. Meredith Fell and it appears that your mother is very lucky. The bullet did not penetrate any major appendages, so she should be okay. She can leave the hospital a day after she wakes up." The doctor explained and we let out a huge sigh of relief.

"Do you have any idea of when she'll wake up?" I asked.

"Well, it's mostly from shock, so I'd assume that she'll wake up in about five or six hours. You guys should go home and get something to eat and some rest so you can come back later." She suggested and I nodded.

"Thank you Dr. Fell, call if anything changes." I gave her both my and Caroline's cell phone numbers and we found Kol back in his car. "Thanks for waiting." I kissed his cheek.

"No problem, hun. How are you, Caroline?" He asked, trying to be friendly.

"Sucky, now can you please just take me home?" She asked and he agreed following her directions.

"Do you want me to stay here with you or do you want some time alone?" I asked.

"I think I need some time to reflect, so can you pick me up in an hour or two? My car is still at the hospital." She told me.

"No problem, Carebear. I'll see you after we go get some food." We watched her walk inside and then went to the Grill and headed straight for the bar.

"Two whiskeys please." I asked the boy behind the bar.

"Show me your ID." He told me and I rolled my eyes holding it up.

"Oh my god. You're Danielle Patterson!" I heard from behind me and a tall, tan teenage girl ran up next to me. "I'm Tiki and you are like my favorite model. You are so beautiful!" She exclaimed and I tried to smile.

"Thank you." I said and the bartender handed me the drinks. I handed him the money to cover it and carried the drinks over to Kol and the girl followed me.

"Is this your boyfriend?" She asked getting even more excited.

"Yeah, Tiki, this is Kol." I introduced, halfheartedly and drank half of my whiskey in one sip.

"Hi Kol, what's your favorite thing about Danielle?" She asked him.

"If I answer will you go away?" He asked.

"I guess so." She said dejectedly.

"She's great in bed." He smirked and my eyes widened and I slapped him.

"Okay, thank you for talking to me, Danielle! I love your accent, Kol!" Tiki thanked us and walked away.

"You are such an idiot! I hate you!" I smacked Kol.

"No you don't, you love me." He smirked.

"Yeah, but you didn't have to tell that girl that I'm great in bed!" I glared at him.

"What makes you so against sex anyway?" I groaned, the question would come sooner or later.

"All of the girls in my high school were walking around four months pregnant and I knew that I needed to learn responsibility before I could ever have a kid. Basically, I just vowed to never have sex unless I was able to take care of a baby." I explained blushing and looking at the ground to hide my embarrassment.

Kol grabbed my chin and tilted my head up. "You are so beyond responsible, but you realize that there is protection for a reason, right? Even if you did get pregnant, you would be an amazing mother, Dani. Your sense of love is one of the best things about you and one of the many reasons I love you." He smiled and kissed me gently.

"I love you too, Kol. You could be a great father someday. Wait, is that even possible? Can people like you reproduce?" I realized.

"Not technically, no, but I know a witch or two that owe me favors if you really wanted." He offered.

"You'd do that for me?" My shock and vulnerability shone through.

"Of course, I'd do anything to see you smile." I could no longer control my happiness, so I grabbed his face and kissed him passionately. "Oh yes, anytime you need me, Dani, I'm here for the taking." Kol smirked sexily and I hugged him.

Sorry guys! I thought that I had posted this a while back! I also seem to have switched between Dani having a cast on and not, so sorry for any confusion. As always, thank you for reading, reviewing, following and favoriting! Happy Memorial Day!
