Wolf Wars
Chapter Seven: Beast
Bubbles woke up to hear herself screaming with cuts and bruises on the hard concreate. She was weak and every muscle in her body hurt. A bit disoriented she tried to lift herself off of the ground to get a better look at her surroundings. "B-Blossom, Buttercup" She called weakly. She was crawling on the ground, unable to stand up. She looked around, her cobalt blue eyes dimming every second. Her eyes widen and with what little strength she had she crawled her way to Blossom.
Blossom was sprawled out on the ground her hair spread out around her, while her neck was bleeding. Her eyes puffy like she had been crying. It confused Bubbles. Blossom was strong… She wasn't as strong as Buttercup but she was strong. So why was she beaten so easily? Why was there no mark of fighting on her, it was as if she didn't even fight back at all. Bubbles wondered this as she finally sat up. Her body stretching in agony as she let out a low groan.
She slowly put Blossoms head on her lap and sighed. "This is gonna suck." She mumbled. She focused the last bit of her energy to her eyes and out came a light blue beam. Blossoms eyes shot open and she screamed in pure agony. Bubbles had to stop her from over bleeding so she had to close up the wound… with heat. "AHHHHHHHHH!" Blossoms scream could have smashed the sound barrier. Within minutes Bubbles was done, Blossom had fainted and she still did not find Buttercup.
"B-Buttercup!" She called weakly. She was unwilling to leave Blossom alone, after all being apart might have been the reason they were attacked. "You should have left her to bleed…" Bubbles eyes widen in surprise. Suddenly she was taken by the neck and lifted into the air. Crimson eyes, nail like claws… and pointy teeth. "Traitors like her don't deserve to live… and neither do you" Bubbles clawed with all her might at the hand that held her. She wiggled and kicked but the being that she was facing didn't even flinch. It bared its fangs and leaned closer to her neck. She closed her eyes. 'I-I'm so sorry guys, I-I couldn't-" She was cut off when she heard howls in the distance that were fast approaching.
Before she could even blink, she was tossed to the ground painfully and the being that held her was snaring at two other beings… Wolves' two huge wolves they were the size of a full grown man on all fours, she didn't want to think how tall they could be when they were on their hind legs. They were also beautiful. Both had unnatural colored eyes that seemed to change in the moon light. One had a grey coat with blue flames licking his paws. The other had a crimson coat with orange flames pooling out of its body.
"Reaper, stay behind me." Bane all but hissed. He was getting pretty tired of these pesky vampires. "I'm fine Bane you need to-" Reaper started but hushed when Bane whined at him. "You're not fine little brother… You're in no shape for a fight either. Let me handle this one ok?" Reaper sighed he hated it when his brother whined "Fine Bane. I will protect the girl." Reaper bared his teeth. "However. If you even get one drop of blood on the ground, I will kill them and hurt you." Bane nodded his head. If it weren't for the circumstances right now he would have laughed at his brothers over protectiveness but now was not the time.
Reaper slowly went up to the girl, his back turned to the enemy. He knew Bane wouldn't let him get hurt. He bared his teeth as he looked at her. She was a mess from head to toe covered in bruises. Her eyes widen as he took slow steps toward her. He snared again. This was her warning. "You try anything and I will snap you're neck." He growled. "I am here to protect you and myself from my brother." Bubbles eyes widen as she heard his words in her head. She could only nod as he sat in front of her. His ever changing eyes clashing with her cobalt blue ones. "Stay." He stated and turned around to watch the fight that was going on.
Bane snared lowly. "This is your last chance creature! Leave." He spat. "You fool do you honestly think you can beat me? I am the ultimate-" The vampire was cut off his rant when suddenly orange flames lashed out at him. He dodged quickly but was suddenly yanked by the stomach. The vampire crashed to the ground but got up very quickly. "It's always the stomach with you isn't it berserker?" The vampire stated smirking as Bane froze. "Oh don't think I haven't heard of the things you did… Killing your mother and father. Slaying your old pack… Just to name a few." Banes's ears went down and he snared. "That is in the past you blood sucker! I have atoned for my crimes!" Banes eyes were flashing and Bubbles didn't fail to notice when Reapers ears went down. Reaper knew what was coming.
"Oh? Blood sucker you say?" The vampire tsked and suddenly he was behind Bane. "You know that really hurt me doggy. I mean we are one and the same." Banes pupils began to shrink as the vampire shot a clawed hand through his stomach. Reaper's eyes dilated as he watched his brother get tossed like a bug. "BANE!" He yelled but his body didn't move. He felt it. He felt the bond holding him back. Although Bane was weak he was not dead… Not yet. Slowly Bane stood up. Blood was gushing all over his body. Bubbles was trembling she had heard the words of the creature and by the agonizing howl the grey wolf let out things were not looking good.
Bane charged at the vampire, his teeth bared and his throat let lose a low growl. The vampire smirked and seemed to dodge but cried out in pain. His left hand was gone. It was inside Bane's mouth. Reaper let out a rare whine, and blue flames surrounded Bubbles. "Don't move." He stated backing away into the flames. Bubbles watched with wide terrified eyes as she heard the crimson wolf clearly as if it was right next to her ear. The vampire hand was ground now and blood was coming from Bane's muzzles as he let out a hunting howl. "I am Bane… child of the wild spirits…Brother of the full moon and heir of the red one." He licked his chops. "I've tasted your blood and I like it." This was why Bane was not the alpha. Bane was deadly strong. He was the eldest and child of the red moon, he was also a killer. The wounds began to heal themselves as the moon took on a red glow. Bane entered Berserker mode.
The vampire trembled. "W-what is this?" He asked. "This- this power-" Bane lunged snaring and letting out an unholy howl. The flames within his body grew to a titan's size as they slowly burned the vampire. Bane snapped the vampire's head in a sick twisted way. The vampire screamed in pure agony. "P-please… Have mercy!" it begged. Bane bit harder as it screamed again. "You should've left when I gave you the chance. There is no mercy for the dead." Bubbles covered her eyes as she heard the sound of bones being broken. When she opened her eyes in the vampires place was a pile of red ashes.
Slowly Bane faced his brother. The unholy light in his eyes gone and the fire within his body out. "Bane!" Reaper dashed to his brothers' side. "I- I'm so sorry brother… So sorry." He whined. Gone was the killer, the murder, the true beast of the pack. "It's ok… It's ok." Reaper nuzzled him as he said this. Bane didn't like to fight, when he let his beast out it was hard to control. Even now Reaper could see his body trembling with an unseen force. "It's ok…" Reaper repeated softly still nuzzling Bane protectively. Reaper was his shield. Reaper would protect him from all the nasty things out in this godforsaken world. They could sense the girl leaving but they didn't seem to care. After all she wouldn't mess with them after what she saw.
Reaper continued to nuzzle his brother. "I-I didn't mean to kill them… I didn't want them dead." Bane whimpered. Reaper said nothing he only continued to nuzzle him. He listened to his brothers' silent cries. The cries of the beast, the cries of an emotionally damaged child. "It's ok… I'm here I won't leave you." Reaper confirmed the unasked question. As of right now, Bane had the mind of a pup. He was scared, hurt and felt very alone. "I-I didn't want them gone Reaper I didn't." He was pleading to Reaper, something he didn't have to do. Reaper nipped his ear softly. "I know Bane, I know. It's ok…" Bane just whined sadly. All in all Reaper would rather take pup Bane than the insane Bane. Last time Bane lost control… Reaper let out a tiny whine.
"Come Bane." Reaper called slowly. They would not be returning to the pack. Reaper did not look behind him to see if Bane was following. He heard the slow steps and low whines. It was a wonder to Reaper… How could someone be so strong, so unholy and yet be so weak? This perhaps was why Bane was not the alpha and he was. He was born of the full moon… Calm and fast. While Bane was of the red moon. Strong, dangerous, a killer a beast. Yet he was able to control that beast. The only one who could control the beast within his brother.
He stopped walking and found himself outside an old den. They would sleep here for tonight. "Rest Bane." He said softly as his brother walked into the somewhat large den. Bane flopped down and curled in a circle, Reaper right beside him. Thunder boomed through the sky and Bane yelped. "Hush now… Bane. I am here… I will always be here." Bane buried his head into Reaper's side whining. Reaper's eyes flashed as lighting shot across the sky. "I will always be here to protect you my beast." Yes Bane was his and only his, he growled lowly as he felt the power of an unnatural bond course through him. "You are mine…" His eyes flashed as he looked at Bane, who was so attached to his side. Oh yes Bane was his and he'd make sure of it.
