Chapter 7
Outing Part 2
"Baka-chan, carry these."
Fuuto threw the cans of drink over to me after picking them up from the vending machine. I had to scramble everywhere just to catch every single one of them.
People around us were looking at us. It was mainly due to Fuuto being famous but another reason is that they must be wondering who am I. If we want to play it this way, fine by me.
"Yes, Aho. But since you are a guy, SHOULDN'T YOU BE MORE GENTLEMANLY?"
I purposely say it out loud in order to get my revenge on him. As expected, people around us started to murmur.
"You..."
Fuuto cursed under his breath as I smiled innocently at him. Looking rather pissed, Fuuto took some of the cans in my hands and walked off without another word.
Walking behind, I come to realised that Fuuto's hands were much larger than mine. In fact, why do all guys have bigger hands? Well either way, at least they are useful in some ways.
"So, which school are you going to?"
Fuuto suddenly asked me, surprising me.
"Eh?"
"Well?"
Since Fuuto isn't home all the time, I guess it normal for him to not know what's going on. Telling him won't hurt anyway.
"Same as school that Natsume-san used to attend, Kugayama High. I got a recommendation letter after all."
"Ehh... I thought you will attend the same school at Onee-san since you're attached to her and all."
"You're making sound like I'm the one bothering her."
"Aren't you?"
"Argh..."
Talking to Fuuto was pointless. Then again, why did he suddenly ask this question. We usually don't have conversations like this. Probably I should ask him why before we start arguing again.
"What's with the question anyway?"
Fuuto stop in his tracks before turning back to look at me again.
"I'm going to attend the same school as Yusuke-nii and Onee-san."
"Eh? The same school as them?"
"Yeah. Got a problem?"
Fuuto watched my expression warp from a curious to a surprised one.
"I thought you would go some fancy or elite school since you are...well...infamous."
"It's famous. And I just want to go to a normal high school. Plus I don't see what wrong with spicing up the two's last year there."
Hearing Fuuto say that, it sort of unbelievable. Maybe he isn't so bad after all.
"Ehh... Aren't you a nice brat."
Fuuto turns around, rather displeased that I called him a brat. Nevertheless, he didn't say anything about it.
On our way back to the rest of the brothers, a feminine yet familiar voice called out to us.
"Fuuto, Chiaki!"
Turning around to see who it was, we found Hikaru-san walking up to us.
"Hikaru-nii?"
"Hikaru-san?"
"It's been a while hasn't it?"
Hikaru-san smiled as us before looking at the fishes behind us.
"Ah, so there it is."
Fuuto and I gave looks to each other before Fuuto decided to ask the very same question we had in mind.
"Hikaru-nii, why are you here?"
"I'm here for some reference research."
Hikaru-san answered, still watching the fishes swim by. After the fishes swam away, Hikaru-san turned his attention back to us again.
"What about you two? On a date?"
"What?! No way!"
The both of us answer at the same time, blushing.
"But Chiaki is dressed rather cutely today. Don't lie to me. Besides, the both of you said the exact same thing."
Hikaru-san chuckled while the both of us, still blushing, ended up glared at each other for saying the same thing.
"Okay, okay. It's a joke. Don't take it too seriously."
Taking a deep breath to calm myself down, I told Hikaru-san that I was visiting the aquarium with Wataru-kun, Azusa-san and Tsubaki-san. Fuuto was here because of work and we met up just to have lunch.
"I see. Glad to know that my family do have some bonding time."
Hikaru commented, smiling at my words.
"Hikaru-san, do you want to join us?"
Hikaru-san took at look at his watch before shaking his head at us.
"Sorry, I have something going on in a while. I need to leave soon. Do tell those three that I say hi."
With that, Hikaru-san gave a subtle wave to us and left.
"What took you guys so long?"
Tsubaki-san said that the moment he saw us. Fuuto and I passed the drinks to them before I explain the reason for our lateness.
"We met Hikaru-nii on the way back."
"Hikaru-nii is here?! Where?!"
Wataru-kun got up to look at his surroundings.
"Is that so?"
"Yeah. He has to go since he has something going on now, but he said hi."
"Aww... I wanted to meet Hikaru-nii..."
Looking at Wataru-kun's sad face, I pat his head in attempts to cheer him up.
"Don't worry, I'm sure that Hikaru-san will visit us soon."
"If Onee-chan says so."
Wataru-kun gave a small smile despite the unhappiness on his face.
"Okay, enough talking. Let's eat before my stomach starts growling again!"
Tsubaki-san announced as he dig in to the food.
After lunch, Fuuto went back to his filming while we continued on with our tour around the aquarium. Eventually the afternoon became evening and we were on our way back home.
"What a day!"
Tsubaki-san exclaimed as he stretched his arms up in the air. We were currently walking back to the apartment as we speak.
"Did you have fun, Wataru?"
Azusa-san asked Wataru-kun and in return, Wataru-kun smiled brightly at him with a nod.
"What about you?"
Azusa-san asked me.
"Yeah! It's fun right?"
Wataru-kun added on, looking at me.
"Yeah."
I gave them a smile. To tell the truth, it was much more fun than I anticipated it would be. And somehow, I never thought that I would end up finding out that Fuuto was not what he seem to be.
"And I think I sort of understand why Wataru-kun likes Fuuto now."
"Eh?"
"Nothing."
That night, I was in my room reading up on some sports manga that I bought earlier this week. It rather late and it was raining heavily outside. While I was getting to the most exciting part, the door bell rang.
"Who is it at this hour?"
I muttered as I walked to the door to see who was it.
"It's me."
Standing there at was Fuuto, completely drenched. My eyes widen before I hurried and shut the door. It must be be hallucinating.
" I don't have time for this."
Okay, it's the real deal.
Opening the door slightly, I peer at the gap to make sure my eyes aren't tricking me and yes they weren't.
"I need a towel."
"Go get from your room."
"I can't. I left my keys inside."
"Ask Ukyo-san to open for you."
"He isn't answering."
"Then ask someone else."
"They aren't answering either."
Sighing, I opened the door fully to let him in. Taking a towel from my closet, I handed it to him and he started to dry himself.
"Why are you drenched anyway?"
I asked him, taking a seat on the edge of my bed.
"My manager left me at the gates so I walked in from there. I didn't expect that the rain would be this bad."
"Serves you right."
I muttered soft enough for myself to hear before continuing on.
"Anyway, you need some spare clothes right?"
I got up as I said that and took out a box from the closet.
"Don't tell me that I'm going to wear your clothes."
I simply just looked at him as though he's an idiot.
"No. You won't fit. Don't tell me you like to cross-dress cause if you do, I do have some spare clothes that I don't wear."
I grinned at Fuuto as he paled from my words.
"Forget that I said that."
"Here."
I took out a shirt and short from the box and handed it to him.
"These are..."
"For guys. Those are the spare sports attire from my club. I'm in charge of keeping it since we don't have a clubroom."
Fuuto looks at me with suspicious eyes. Knowing what he was thinking about, I immediately spoke up.
"And no, I don't."
After Fuuto showered and changed his clothes at the common bathroom, he came down to the kitchen where I had just made hot chocolate to drink for the both of us.
"Here."
I passed the mug over to him.
"Thanks."
There was a moment of silence before I spoke up.
"Why do we always argue anyway?"
"I don't know. You're the one who started it."
"That's because you were rude to me."
And there was another moment of silence again.
"Hey, why do you act so spoilt in front of your sister anyway?"
It was Fuuto that was asking now. I simply looked at the mug in my hands and answer him.
"Because I don't want her to be lonely."
Fuuto watches my hand movements as I placed the mug down on the counter.
"Nee-chan has always been alone. I was only adopted to keep Nee-chan company."
"Adopted?"
Fuuto's eyes widen the moment I mention it. Come to think of it, no one in the Asahina family knew about it.
"Yeah."
My expression was a rather sheepish one as I turned to look at him.
"I was only acting so that she feels that she's needed. So when Dad remarried and the family suddenly grew bigger, Nee-chan became much happier now."
I look down at my mug again, sighing.
"But in return, I sort of feel lonely myself. I know I should let go of it, but I can't help it."
I grinned sheepishly at Fuuto now. Fuuto just watches me as I pick the mug and bring it to my lips to drink.
Later did I know, Fuuto came up to me and ruffled my hair to my annoyance. As I was about to retort back at him, Fuuto spoke up first.
"I don't know how does it feels like to be in your shoes, but you aren't so bad after all."
Hearing him say that, I chuckled, earning a look from him.
"I should be the one saying that but thanks."
I gave him brightest smile I have. Although I didn't expect Fuuto to be the one to comfort me, but I am glad that at least I told someone about it.
And before I knew it, Fuuto gave me a peck on my cheek.
It's been a long time since I wrote this. Sorry guys! I'll do my best to update this besides my other stories.
Anyway from the votes as you can see, Fuuto takes the first place! That means from now on, I'll write the story to lean towards Fuuto. Meanwhile, I'm going to further explore Chiaki character in the future chapters. I do hope you guys will stick with me till the end.
Till next time! XD
