Chapter 7: Where is my brother?
REWRITTEN SEPEMBER 13 2015
I DON'T OWN NARUTO
_fast forward two weeks_ (this is the 2nd Friday since she's been at the school)
Sakura and her mom have moved into a larger, nicer house, that just so happens to be about 5 minutes away from Gaara. Things have stayed the same at school. Sakura is always with one of the Sabaku boys between and during class. After Gaara and Sakura's 'friendship' has been confirmed with each other, they have been slowly starting to talk more. Kankuro has told Sakura a little bit about Gaara and the Shukaku. Informing her of the seal that had been placed to keep the demon at bay, but they weren't sure of how long the seal would hold. Sakura still keeps the reason behind their move a secret from everyone.
Sakura's schedule: Kankuro has 4th and 6th with her and Gaara is with her in the other 5 classes.
1. Ninjutsu w/ Sai
2. Reading w/ Kakashi
3. Mathematics and trajectory w/ Baki
4. History w/ Iruka
5. Science w/ Kabuto
6. Taijutsu w/ Tokuma Hyuga
7. Healing jutsu w/ Chiyo
I didn't bother making schedules for the others at this point, all that matters so far is in her classes, eventually I will add more schedules if needed.
Sakura walked out of Baki's class with Gaara close behind her, "Do you understand that?" she asked him, waiting for him to catch up. He nodded his head yes and pulled his notes out of his backpack. Sakura looked at them and scrunched up her face. "That doesn't make me understand it any better; I might have to see if Baki can help me after school." She mumbled annoyed at her lack of math skills as she handed Gaara back the papers.
"Come over." Gaara offered, putting the notes back into his bag. "I'll help you."
Sakura frowned unsure of why she was so uneasy about visiting his house, "I can't, now that mom knows more about you she's a bit worried about it." Gaara shrugged and led the way to their next class.
Kankuro put his arm around Sakura and smiled at her, she looked at him out of the corner of her eye, "What are you doing?"
"Just coping a feel?" he half asked, half joked. Gaara glanced over and pulled his brother away from the pinklette.
"Don't touch her; she's too good for you." Gaara mumbled, standing between his brother and the innocent looking girl.
Sakura smiled at him, "Thanks" She touched his arm as she walked away with Kankuro to her next class.
After class
Sakura walked through the hallways alone for the first time since she met Gaara and his brother. Normally Kankuro walked Sakura to meet with Gaara, but today the lazy teen had fallen asleep in class and was asked to stay late to talk to the teacher. Thankfully, Sakura had figured her way around the school, at least the parts that she has been to with the Sabaku brothers. The pinklette kept her head down as she walked through the waves of students, doing her best to go by undetected, she felt vulnerable without having a friend by her side. She could see the greenhouse door getting closer and closer with every step.
"Hey freak!" a voice called, Sakura tried to move faster but was stopped by a callus hand grabbing her arm.
"What?" Sakura spat, looking the boy dead in the eyes with the icy glare she had seen Gaara use so many times.
The boy laughed at her and pulled her towards his friends, "This is the freak that's been with the Sabaku's." he told the group. The five other boys all made sounds of disgust and disappointment. "It's a shame they fooled such a pretty girl like you into talking to them, when you could be with us. You're always with then, you never gave us a chance to check you out."
"Yeah, you could be hanging out with us, we've never had any complaints from the ladies." A second boy said winking at Sakura.
Sakura looked at the guy and laughed, "Why would I want to hang out with a bunch of meat heads that have nothing even remotely intellectual to say?"
The first boy pushed her against a locker and got in her face. Sakura's glare never faltered. "Watch your mouth bitch or I might have to shove something in there."
"Fuck you," she spat.
'Where are they?' he wondered, looking at the clock on his phone. He sighed in annoyance, his brother is always getting in trouble. Gaara could only assume he was being held back talking to a teacher. After a few more seconds sitting under his favorite cherry blossom tree, he decided to go get Sakura himself.
As Gaara walked out of the door he heard a girl's voice saying "Fuck you," and a loud slap ringing through the halls followed by two soft thumps. The students all stopped and gathered around pinklette who stood next to two figures on the ground holding onto their genitals, her lip dripping blood. "Come after me again and see what happens."
"Sakura," Gaara called, running to the crowd. The students immediately parted for the raging redhead to get through. His eyes widened in surprise at the scene before him. "Where is my brother?" his face was turning red and eyes full of fire.
Sakura walked toward an infuriated Gaara, "He got in trouble so I was coming to meet you alone." She explained to Gaara what happened as he pulled her into the boys' bathroom to clean the blood off of her lip. "I'm fine, really. They're worse off than I am."
Gaara shook his head as he wet a paper towel and began to dab her busted lip gently, frowning when she winced. "You should have waited with him, or called me to come get you." He scolded.
"I'm not a child, I can obviously handle myself around here." She pouted as he wet a second paper towel with cold water for her to hold on her lip.
"If you would have waited you wouldn't have a busted lip and I wouldn't have to go kill people tonight." He hissed in frustration.
Sakura shot a look at Gaara, "Don't go killing people, Gaara" she told him, earning herself a smirk full of bloodlust as he opened the door to let her out of the bathroom. The students had all scurried off to class by the time they got out, not wanting to see the wrath Gaara would inflict upon his friend's attackers.
"I'm getting hungry," Gaara told her, opening his bag. Before he could find whatever sweet snack he had packed for the day, Sakura handed him a box of pocky. "You brought me a snack tod-?"
She nodded and smiled as she popped one into his mouth. He couldn't help himself but to smile a bit, despite the pounding in his skull.
Gaara chewed up his treat and glanced over at Sakura, "You know we have a pool at my house. We're gonna have a little get together this weekend if you want to come."
Sakura gave him a skeptical look, "You're throwing a party?"
"Temari and Kankuro are, I was planning to spend the weekend in my room reading like I normally do, but if you came I wouldn't have a miserable time, I guess."
She laughed, "Sure when is it?"
"All weekend. Temari has some friends traveling to stay the weekend. Bring an overnight bag and a bathing suit." He informed her casually.
Sakura coughed on the pocky she had taken a bite of, "Wh-what? I don't think my mom will be alright with that. I don't know it I-"
"Your mom is gone until Tuesday. It'll be fine. We have spare rooms and you'll have your own bathroom. Think of it as a vacation." He said, obviously not taking no for an answer as they walked into the classroom.
