A/N: I'm back! Okay, I have to apologize to all my faithful readers, if I have any of course, because I'm afraid that after more than one year of not updating anything on this story, I lost a lot of them.

Like I said, I'm back and I have written a few chapters already. This is the first one... I've no schedule as to when to post, but I hope I can post every Sunday! :) I do not make promises, because I tend to break them!

I have to thank my bestie from Argentina, she encouraged me to start back writing again and of course I have to thank mkystich for her help betaing this story! She's a great help for all this.

I hope you you'll like the chapter!

Disclaimer: I don't own anything except maybe the plot and some new characters.

Previously in Losing Grip on Reality:

"Voicemail," I answer before I leave a message. "Isa, it's Jasper. I'm worried. You aren't home. Call me when you hear this."

"She will be fine," Charlotte tries to reassure me. "Go take a shower. Dinner will be ready soon."

I nod, leaving the kitchen, and go immediately to my room.

Wondering where Isabella is, I strip off my clothes and step into the hot, steaming shower.

Chapter seven

BPOV

Sitting at the park I find myself dazing off as the people pass by me. Even with the sun setting, casting colors of red and gold across the sky, I don't have the heart to acknowledge its beauty. I lift my fingers to my lips and remember the amazing kiss I had with Jasper. The nerves in my stomach fluttered like angry butterflies the more I thought about the intense feelings I couldn't deny any longer.

"You called?" Rose says, pulling me out of my thoughts and sitting next to me.

I look up to the sky as see that it's already dark. The only light shining around us is a soft street lamp nearby.

How long have I been sitting here?

"I know I'm taking a risk by talking to you," I whisper. "But I don't know what to do."

"I'm listening."

Looking at Rose I see she's wearing very dark, skinny jeans and a black sweater. I mentally laugh because it looks like she's dressed like a spy.

"I think I'm falling."

"What do you mean?"

I never look at her, so in case somebody out of Jasper's crew recognizes me they would see that we are complete strangers.

"I'm falling in love," I elaborate.

"With Jasper?" Her voice is understandably high as she looks at me with shock, but it only lasts for a second before she takes control and goes back into a relaxed state. I don't answer, hoping my silence is a clear answer. "How?"

"I don't know, Rose," I mutter, feeling tears forming in my eyes. "I really don't know."

"Maybe you should stop this cover?"

I sigh. "I'm thinking about it," I confess. "I just don't know how the higher-ups will react."

"Tell them you find it too difficult." I can feel her eyes on me, but I don't look at her. "Please just think about it, Bells."

"I have been, Rose. Trust me," I tell her, lowering my eyes and running my hands through my hair in frustration. "It's hard to make a good decision about it."

"Izzy!" I look around and see Felix standing a few feet away from.

"Hi Felix," I say with a smile, trying to hide the sound of shock in my voice. "What are you doing here?"

"Taking a walk in the park," he answers. "And meeting my ex."

When I take a better look at him, I can see he's dressed for a date. He's wearing black dress pants and a light blue shirt.

"Oh." I mentally cringe at my amazing reply of 'Oh'.

"But I can ask you the same, Izzy," he says.

"I had to be alone for a while," I reply quickly, maybe too quickly.

"Why?"

"The events of the last couple of days are getting to me."

"Yeah, I heard about your hospital visit," he says while sitting down next to me, and that was when I noticed that Rose was gone.

"Not my favorite moment of the last twenty-four hours."

"I understand."

I look back to the people walking around in the park. There's a couple kissing by a tree to my right, trying to hide in the shadows, and a few feet to my left is an old man walking his dog. For a second I imagine how nice it must be to not live with the burden I have to carry. To be relaxed and carefree like these strangers around me.

"Is there something wrong?" Felix eventually asks.

I shrug. "I really don't know."

"The blonde girl that was sitting next to you." I look at him. "Who was she?"

"Don't know," I lie. "I'm just trying to put my thoughts together."

"You were talking to her."

"She asked what time it was."

Felix's phone rings and he picks up without looking at the ID. "Hello."

I try not to focus on the conversation and wonder how the hell Rose got away.

"Yes, boss," Felix says, while looking at me. "She's sitting next to me."

I raise an eyebrow and Felix shows a finger to let me know he will tell me in a minute.

"I will tell her. Goodbye."

He hangs up and gives me small smile.

"What's going on?" I ask him.

"My boss is worried."

"About what?"

"Not about what, but about who?"

"Felix, can you please stop talking in riddles and just tell me what's wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong, but Jasper is just looking for you."

"Me?"

"Apparently, you should have been home before him, but that wasn't the case," he explains. "He tried to call you, but it went straight to voicemail."

I quickly look in my purse for my phone, and when I find it I can see that the battery has died.

"My phone is dead."

"I think you should head home." Felix stands up and looks down. "He's really worried about you."

I nod, watching him leave.

I close my eyes and groan in frustration.

"You know," Rose's voice calls out. I turn around to see her coming from the bushes. "You should think what you are going to do."

"I can't stop now, Rose," I tell her. "I'm getting close."

"But you're also getting feelings for the guy."

I nod my head while trying to hold back the need to cry. "I know."

"It's dangerous," she says.

"I know," I repeat.

"If something goes wrong…" Rose takes a deep breath. "The family will never forgive themselves."

"I really fucking know, Rose." I stand up and walk away, stopping after a few steps and turning around. "I'll be careful."

Before she can say another word, I walk away.

LGOR

I decided to take a cab to Jasper's house. Lost in my thoughts I was startled when the cabdriver called for my attention. "Miss," the man said. "We're here."

I looked out the window and saw the huge mansion.

"How much do I own you?"

"Twenty dollars, Miss."

I hand him a twenty-dollar bill, and a few ones for a tip, before opening my door. "It's all for you."

He smiles and I step out of the car.

Before I can reach the front door it swings open, and Jasper is there looking at me; relief covering his face.

"God, Isa." He runs to me and hugs me close to his chest. "Don't do that to me again."

"I was at the park and my battery must have been low, because it went dead," I explain.

"Why didn't you come immediately to the house?" he asks.

"I needed to clear my head," I answer. "Put some thoughts together."

He looks questioningly at me and all I can do is shrug.

"Thank God Felix ran into you."

"How did you know to call him?" I ask him, remembering the phone call.

"I didn't know," he answers honestly. "I just called him, because I was organizing a search party."

"What?" I gasp in shock.

"Isa, you weren't here, and I couldn't reach you," he explains. "Even Charlotte didn't know where you were."

"I wasn't gone for long."

"It's-"He looks at his watch. "Almost midnight."

I didn't know that it was that late. Wait a minute, who the hell meets with their ex at eleven at night? Right, people like Felix and me.

He takes my hand and pulls me to the house.

"Charlotte!" he calls. "Look who's home."

Charlotte walks into the big hall, smiling. "Isabella, you've had everyone worrying about you."

"I'm sorry," I mumble.

"Don't be sorry. I'm just happy to see you home and safe," Charlotte says happily, kissing me quickly on the cheek before disappearing back into the kitchen.

"Why is she still here?" I ask Jasper.

"She stayed because she wanted to know when you were back," he explains. "She lives in the guesthouse."

I'm surprised with this new information, but I assume that it's normal to have a housekeeper nearby.

He walks to the end of the hall, where a big door connects the garden with the house. I can see a building lit up in the distance and assume that has to be the guesthouse.

"Let's go to bed."

I follow Jasper up the stairs and we stop once we reach my bedroom door.

"Goodnight," I whisper.

"Goodnight, Isa."

That's the third time he's called me Isa. "Isa?"

"I like the sound of it, and it's shorter than Isabella."

"I like the sound of that." I smile, opening the door. "See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow."

I step into the room and close the door. I let myself fall on my bed and close my eyes.

I don't know what to think of the situation, but I know that the conflicting feelings are creating more butterflies in my stomach. This will make the situation more difficult than it already is.

Maybe Rose is right, maybe I should stop this undercover assignment. I stand up and strip before walking into the shower.

The hot water relaxes my muscles, but the thoughts are still swirling in my mind. When I'm done showering I put on my boy shorts and top, and slip into bed.

After a couple of minutes I fall into a dreamless sleep.

LGOR

The next morning I wake up wondering what the day will bring me. After getting ready for the day, I make my way down to the kitchen and sit down at the breakfast bar.

"Good morning, Isabella," Charlotte greets me. "Did you have a good night's sleep?"

"Yes, I did, thank you," I answer. "You know you don't have to trouble yourself with making me breakfast, Charlotte. I can do that."

"Oh, it's my job."

I smile and watch as she gets my plate ready.

"I'm sorry that I had everyone worried about me."

"Don't worry," she says. "I'm just happy you're home and safe."

She serves me my breakfast – scrambled eggs and bacon.

I thank her and start to eat.

"Good morning, Charlotte, Isa."

I look up to see Jasper standing in the doorway. I smile at him while taking a bite of my eggs. He has that just got out of bed look. His blonde hair was messy, and he's wearing only grey pants that are hanging on his hips.

He looks so damn sexy.

Shaking my head, I'm pulled myself out of my thoughts. I have to stay close, but not that close.

He takes a seat in front of me and thanks Charlotte when she puts a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon in front of him.

"What are your plans for today?" he asks me, picking up a piece of bacon and tossing it into his mouth.

I shrug. "I don't know."

"Do you want to look at your new work place?"

"You were serious?"

"Of course, I was serious," he smiles, taking another bite of his bacon.

"But what about Alice?"

"Well, she can still work there of course, but I want you to manage the place."

"I would accept the offer, sweetie." Charlotte interrupts us. "I've been to that restaurant and Alice isn't a good manager."

"It's still her job," I argue.

"And she will get over it," Charlotte replies back a firm voice. "It's not like she is busy with the restaurant."

"Charlotte." Jasper gives her a warning look. Charlotte slowly puts down the orange juice and quietly dismisses herself.

"What does she mean?" I ask when she's out of hearing range.

"That Alice tries to get in every rich man's pants," he answers truthfully. "I was not her only guy."

I shake my head. "I can't believe this."

"I also think she had some side business while running my place."

"What do you mean?"

He shrugs. "I've never had proof of it, but I think she steals from me."

"Look," I say while looking straight into his eyes. "I will look into the books, but I don't promise anything."

"What are you saying?" As if he is not entirely sure of what I mean.

"I will look into the books, and if there is anything wrong, I will take over the place," I explain. "But if everything is fine, I will look for another job."

"No, Isa," he replies, shaking his head. "If everything is okay with the books, you can work there as a waitress."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure."

"Okay, it's a deal."

After finishing our breakfast I go to my room to try and relax with a good book for a while. The idea of confronting Alice put me a little on edge, and I needed a little me time to try and prepare.

LGOR

A few hours later, I walk downstairs to have some lunch.

"Hello, dear," Charlotte greets. "I hope you like mac and cheese."

"That is fine, Charlotte," I answer.

Charlotte puts a bowl in front of me and I start eating.

"Hmm, this is good."

Charlotte smiles and takes a second bowl, before sitting down herself. "Is Jasper coming?"

"I don't know," I answer. "I haven't seen him."

Just in that moment Jasper walks in. He is wearing worn out jeans and a tight, black shirt. He looks so handsome I find myself having a hard time concentrating on my lunch.

"Smells good in here," he greets us, while kissing Charlotte's cheek. He then looks at me. "Are you ready to go?"

"After lunch, young man." Charlotte chides, while putting down another bowl on the table.

He sits down, and starts eating.

Afterwards, he takes our bowls and puts them in the dishwasher.

We freshen ourselves up, before taking Jasper's car to the restaurant.

After a fifteen-minute drive, Jasper parks the car in front of the restaurant's entrance. He looks at me and gives me a smile.

"Are you ready?" he asks.

"Why wouldn't I be ready?"

"Oh, didn't I tell you? Alice is working right now."

"Are you under the impression that I can't handle Alice?"

"No, I'm very certain you cannot handle her."

"Then you don't know me." I open the door and get out of the car. I hear him laugh, before I close the door.

"Maybe, I don't," he answers, while he is stepping around the car. "But Alice is a force to reckon with."

"You know, if I can handle Anthony," I tell him. "I can handle a small girl like Alice."

He shakes his head and walks to the door. "Don't say I didn't warn you."

He opens it and I walk in after him.

"Jazzy, I knew you would change your mind," a shrill female voice calls out. Her eyes go over Jasper's shoulders, and if looks could kill, I would be six feet under. "What are you doing here, bitch?"
