Choji Akimichi was the fattest person in their high school. He was teased, bullied, and pitied by everyone except Sakura of course, but he didn't care because anyone that truly knew the boy knew that the only thing he cared about was food and that was ok with him. He never dated and never had any real friends. He was just one of those people that kept to himself and that's what bothered Sakura the most. She had watched him get bossed around by Ino ALL day and he didn't, not even once, take up for himself. All he did was nod and followed her every beck and call. She didn't like that not one bit.

"Choji. Hi!" Sakura exclaimed waving and the young man. He was currently sitting outside of Hinata's diner eating his lunch. She assumed this was his only true break away from Ino for the day which was the perfect time for her to have a polite conversation with him.

He looked up from his meatball sub and looked at her. "Sakura Haruno?" he said in more of a why-are-you-bothering-me tone. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm the new medic for the town. Surely, you've heard."

"No, I mean why are you here…talking to me?" He asked taking a huge bite into his sandwich. Sakura sat down in the chair in front of him cautiously before smiling.

"How are things going?"

He chewed a bit before swallowing his food down. "They're great. I can't complain."

She nodded before looking off in the awkward silence and drumming her fingers across the table. Well, this wasn't going exactly how she planned. "How's the….I'm sorry I don't think I know where you work."

"I work at the butcher's shop." He said between chewing. She decided that fit him well. "And business is booming."

"That's great. So maybe you could riddle me this? Why is a kind guy like you taking orders from Ino? I understand helping out for the ball and all but there has to be a line drawn with the way she's treating you." She said slamming her hand on the table.

"I understand what you're trying to do Sakura but it really doesn't bother me." Choji said placing his sandwich down. "I'm used to it."

Sakura gave him a sad smile and shook her head. "But you shouldn't be used to it. I've seen Ino treat you like crap since high school and now you're a grown man still being treated like shit. You'll never find a good woman if you keep letting other people treat you like crap."

"Who says I don't have a woman?" he asked raising a brow.

Sakura opened her mouth and then closed it. Choji had a woman? It didn't surprise her because he was a good guy but after the way everyone in town treated him, what woman would date him openly? Really, Choji that got teased can get in a relationship but I can't? Freaking unbelievable.

"Now if you excuse me. I have to get back to work." The man said discarding the remains of his lunch and walking back to the square. Who was Choji dating?

She stood up from her seat and watched the man go. She did promise Shikamaru that she wouldn't be nosy and poke her nose in people's business anymore but she couldn't help herself. She had to know.

"Choji has a girlfriend?" Naruto asked serving drinks to his customers. "What kind of girl with bad taste settles for Choji?"

Sakura glared at the blonde unbeknownst to him and through a bowl of salted nuts at him. "Hey, Choji is a sweet guy. Any woman would be lucky to have him!" she defended.

Naruto slid the last drink ordered to a man at the end of the bar and leaned on the counter to give his undivided attention to her. "Ok, riddle me this. You're any woman. If Choji is truly a good guy, tell me why you sought out me rather than having a relationship with Choji?"

Sakura opened her mouth and for once she didn't have a response.

"I mean with Choji I'm sure you'd have a perfect relationship him as a butcher you as a medic. He'd be loyal, we both know that, and you two would live a perfect and comfortable life yet you choose to have sex with someone who mutually isn't that much of a fan of you and can have any woman he wants." Naruto finished.

"Ha! You had me until that last part." Sakura said. "Choji is perfect for someone just not me."

"So who do you think is perfect for you?" Naruto asked looking at her as he popped a peanut in his mouth.

"Trust me my perfect man doesn't exist." She said shaking her head and sighing. "I don't even want to think about a relationship. Just work."

"And sex. It is still your day." He reminded her pouring himself a drink. "How are you going to spend it?"

She hadn't really thought of anything but she knew it had to be some type of revenge for what he put her through. "I'll keep you posted." She said patting his face.

"I'd like to try and find the humor of always finding you two together but I don't have time for it." Ino said standing in the doorway. "You," she said pointing at Naruto, "you promised me you'd help with construction and I need you to keep your promise!"

"Now? I kind of have work to do here." He said gesturing towards the customers. "I mean are you coming in to work today?"

Ino let out a chuckle and then stared back at him with fixed eyes. "You're kidding. No, I have business to attend to. And as far as customers goes, if you think talking to Sakura is a part of your work ethic think again. Now, get out there and help with the construction." She demanded.

"Gee, Ino you can't bare speaking to anyone with kindness can you?" Sakura said. "You treat poor Choji like crap when puts things aside just to help you. Is that anyway to treat him?"

"Please. Choji is fine. And you should be the last person to talk about not treating people wrong." Ino spat.

"Guys please. This is a place to business. Take it outside." Naruto pointed towards the door. Sakura got up from her stool and followed the blonde woman outside. She could no longer hold her anger.

"How long do you plan on throw the past card Ino? It's getting old. People are gradually forgiving me. Shikamaru forgave me, Naruto can bare being in a room with me let alone conversing with me, and even Hinata lets me eat at her restaurant now. You're the only one holding a grudge. Why!" the pinkette yelled.

"Because I was the person who was hurt the most!" Ino yelled back. "Not Naruto, not Hinata, not Shikamaru but me! You hurt me! And you didn't even care! You were being so selfish and looking out for yourself!"

Sakura sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose. "I came back here and tried to apologize. I tried to get past it. I just want to forgive and forget!"

"That will never happen." Ino spat. "You want to apologize? Fine. But, I will never forgive you or forget what you did. You want to apologize? You really want to? Then bring him back. Bring Sasuke back."

Sakura let out a small breath and stared at the fuming blonde. Ino turned on her heel and stormed off. She would bring him back. She would find Sasuke and make him come back into their lives. All of their lives.

"Shikamaru you know everyone in town, correct?" Sakura asked walking alongside the man.

"Ya, why?" he asked looking at her with interest.

"Well, I was just wondering if you knew anything about Choji dating someone in town?" she asked.

Shikamaru raised his brow. "Choji is dating someone? That's new news to me."

"Me too. We were talking and it kind of just slipped out of him and then he stormed off back to help with the ball." She sighed.

"Hmm?" Shikamaru hummed. "Choji hasn't been back to work. Both he and Ino are done for the day. Both of them felt kind of sick."

Sakura's mouth opened. And that's when it all made sense.
