Chapter 7
Jen's POV
I just got the shock of my life. Joey called to ask me to help her get ready for a date with Pacey. Did I just enter the Twilight Zone? Maybe this is the start of me and Joey becoming real friends. I've grabbed my make-up bag and a few outfits for Joey to try on and Grams is taking me to Joey's. She was just as surprised as I was when Joey called when I asked her to give me a ride.
"Thanks for the ride Grams. I'll call you when we're done."
"Your very welcome, Jennifer. You girls have fun."
I wave as she drives away, then head toward the house. Joey meets me on the porch.
"Hey Jen. Thanks for coming."
"No problem. Now I have to know how you and Pace ended up deciding to go out on a date."
Joey laughs. "Come on inside and I'll tell you the whole story."
I follow Joey to her bedroom.
"I brought my make-up bag and a few outfits for you to try on, " I tell Joey and lay the clothes on her bed.
"So now you have to tell me about how all this came about."
"Well it just sort of happened. We had a project to do for science class, Pacey needed some extra credit. It was a horrible day up until he kissed me on the dock."
"What? He kissed you? Just like that?"
"Yea..."
"And you didn't punch him?" I laugh.
"No. I guess I always liked Pacey more than I let myself believe."
"Wow! You and Pacey. How does Dawson feel about that?"
"He's actually cool with it. Pacey went and talked to him. It just so happens that Dawson has a thing for the new girl, Andie. Do you know her? Her brother, Jack, works at the Ice House."
"Oh yeah. I've seen them around school. Jack is cute."
"He's really sweet, but so clumsy. Poor guy. I thought Bessie was gonna fire him a few times for breaking dishes. So do you have a thing for him?"
"I don't know. Maybe. Like I said he is cute."
We both laugh.
