A/N:…..I have no excuses….i am sooooooo sorry!
Chapter Six
It's been about a week since Harry successfully brewed the sleeping potion. After Snape revived me I praised Harry's skill. Even Snape congratulated him in his own snarky way. I left them alone to talk about whatever Snape had come there for in the first place and went to go find Mary.
Today Mary and I were going to Diagon Alley to visit the apothecary and get some lunch in the Leaky Cauldron.
"Maddie, do you mind if we join you? We need to finish our shopping for our return to Hogwarts," Harry asked as I prepared to floo to the Leaky Cauldron.
I paused and turned. Harry was standing there with Hermione, Ron, and Ginny.
I smiled, "Sure, the more the merrier."
They grinned at each other and waited as I took hold of Mary's hand.
I took a handful of floo powder and tossed it into the fire.
"Diagon Alley!"
Mary and I quickly stepped into the emerald green flames.
1 hour later
"Mary and I are going to head back to the Leaky Cauldron and have lunch, come join us when you're done," I called to Hermione as I scooped Mary into my arms.
She nodded and turned to search for Harry.
I let out a sigh of relief when I finally left the busy book store. It was packed to the brim with gaggles of children and their harried parents.
"Momma are we gonna go eat now?" Mary asked softly.
"Yep we're gonna go and get some pea soup."
"Careful to eat it before it eats you."
I snapped my head up to stare at the man before me.
With short blonde hair, smiling blue eyes, and a jaw that was chiseled from marble he was handsome to say the least, ruggedly beautiful to say the most.
And he was sending a beautifully white smile my way.
I just gaped at him.
"Momma will the soup really try and eat me?" Mary asked looking at me with big doe eyes.
I shook my head and glanced at her.
"Of course not Sweetie, it's a joke."
I glanced back up at the man, now frowning.
"Can I help you sir?"
He smiled somewhat sheepishly and brought his hand to the back of his head.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare her, just a little joke we have around here."
He held out his hand, "my name's Max, how'd' ya do?"
I continued frowning at him and didn't take his hand, holding Mary closer to me.
"Maddie," I said stiffly. Though he was gorgeous something about him put me on guard.
He grinned at me and lowered his eyes to Mary.
"Hullo beautiful. What's your name?"
She buried her face in my neck.
"Mommy I don't like him," she whispered softly.
Max must have heard her because his smile froze on his face and he stiffened.
I opened my mouth, whether it was to apologize or not I never found out.
"Maddie!"
Authors note: Cliffhanger! Sorry again for the long gap in between chapter. And sorry for such a short chapter! I don't know what's wrong with me... I'm having such writers block. My stories have no preset storyline (and usually I can make due) but for this one I'm having a hard time getting my thoughts out into words. Anyway, I don't know who is calling Maddie… if you guys and gals have any suggestions and the reasoning behind it I might use it for the next chapter and of course give you credit for it! I'm desperate for ideas here! You have no idea! I sat here and pondered about this for hours… days even! Thank you again to those who stuck with me and to those of you who are new to my story I say welcome and I warn you that I don't update regularly. I've had this typed up for months and I wanted to add more to it. But I'm stuck! And I figured I might as well just upload what I already have. Anyways, I love you all and I hope you enjoyed it, what little there was.
