I'm not dead. I am immortal (definitely mad).

Change of perspective!

"Infantile love follows the principle: "I love because I am loved."
Mature love follows the principle: "I am loved because I love."
Immature love says: "I love you because I need you."
Mature love says: "I need you because I love you."
― Erich Fromm, The Art of Loving

In her very long life span, Aphrodite has learnt several things about the neighboring planet's most common responds regarding a 'fall-in-love' situation.

First, there are Mercurians and their endless scientific research and enormous collection of literature about the 'situation which has brought individual/people into certain kinds of stimulation which usually lead to performing an intercourse(s)'. Or so the Mercurian said. There are at least 4 latest update about the definition in last 5 years.

How geniuses cannot make up their mind is beyond Aphrodite's comprehension. She scoffs.

Then the Jovians and their ridiculous attempt to joke and pun when 'fall-in-love' situation arises. They attempt to cover their weak of heart with multiple inappropriate jokes to make up their inability to be romantic. Seriously, only Jovians that would get a turn-on with dirty jokes and roungh brawny muscles.

What a bunch of Vikings. Aphrodite is not one to criticize though. Jovian's bravery is bordering to reckless and their devotion is ridiculously off the chart.

There are the Uranians. Those who will flirt in any occasion to anything breathing. They are the inventors of chivalry and romantic concept. Trust it to Uranians to make a fart sounds like an incredible love poem.

Aphrodite curls up a small smile, recalling a fond memory with an Uranian in her colorful past. Their downside is that Uranians are allergic to commit and settling down - although that aspect for Aphrodite- is an upside one.

The Neptunians. People in planet of vast ocean who enjoys the game of love. They treat love as a game. Teasing by pushing and pulling, being hot and cold in next second, putting a facade, and playing the heartstrings of even the strongest people in galaxy. However, once one survives the teasing and the game, one will find the most doting and skillful lover in entire galaxy.

The game is always totally worth it in the end.

Saturn. Aphrodite will never understand them since they always see love as a tragedy. People in Saturn are always unsurprisingly mellow all the time. It is her least favorite planet, her visitation often ends up depressing.

Plutonians - they always have all the time in the world. Literally. They always like going slow in every activities. Aphrodite recalls a terrible culture shock and nightmare of jet lags after a visit to Pluto. Their slow habit first is relaxing but not when it is about queque to the loo.

Then the three sisters planet, Venus, Earth, and Mars or so Serenity likes to claim due to their distance and similiarity with each other.

Earthians are people who stuck in old ways. They are the most adept race in galaxy. Their love is adapting with the need and circumstances of their situation. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it ends with disaster, more often - a betrayal. There are more betrayals that true love despite the amount of stories the Earthians like to create until today.

Venus - the planet of love. Aphrodite rubs her temple, feeling a headache kicks in. 'Love is in the air' has been taken literally since forever. Love is like the air, it is everywhere, the Venusians embrace it, basking in it, showering with it, rolling around in it... anyway, love is abundant that makes mostly Venusian cannot distinguish between love and lust. Yes, for Venusians, love is lust, it is a drive to want and need.

How the might has fallen, even the Goddess of love - herself is helpless about the situation.

And finally, the last planet, Mars. Their common reaction to 'fall-in-love' situation is the funniest, she thinks. The Martian will runaway and hide in the deepest hole they can find. It is funny, once Aphrodite delivered her analysis about Martian and love with Ares.

"We do not hide, we thread carefully." Ares replied which Aphrodite retorted with rolling eyes. Then Ares continued to speak without giving a hint of being offended, "It is the most treasured thing in our race. Love is. We protect and treasure it."

A minute of silence in contemplation when Aphrodite finally could muster a reply,

"Love is not that fragile," Aphrodite spoke her opinion softly, a gleam of understanding reached her eyes.

"We know."

With that their argument had ended.

That day Aphrodite had learnt the deepest secret of Martians. The key into their heart.

.

Snapping back from her thought to present, Aphrodite now is observing the ballroom with hundred of guests from neighboring planets. Tonight is a celebration, a banquet for 20 years of galaxy peace.

The party should have been wonderful with love dancing in the air but the scene which is playing before her almost driving her to madness.

This is bad for her heart. Worse, bad for her hair. Her perfect, lovely hair will not be a casualty of what she would call as 'the dumb and dumbest' or 'stubborn and idiot' play of the night.

A.k.a her daughter and Ares's.

It doesn't need a full-fledged Goddess like herself to figure out that both women are obviously into each other.

A.k.a being in love.

The fault mostly, sadly rests on her own daughter. The Goddess of love's daughter. Aphrodite's direct descendant, the most oblivious and fool of a daughter.

At the beginning, it was interesting to watch how her daughter's charm seem neutralized by Ares's daughter. Aphrodite was almost dancing that day upon the revelation from her daughter. It is as clear as Serenity's moon crystal that the raven-haired martian beauty is the one for her Venus.

However, alas, her daughter, despite her mesmerizing look and charm, being not very bright in this department. She has misinterpreted the phenomena as a 'hate' on the Martian. Aphrodite has been wanting to smack her daughter's pretty head lately for being so oblivious.

Aphrodite is pulling her golden locks in frustration.

Now, before her, she sees Ares's daughter standing with her back leans stiffly onto the wall while her amethyst eyes are scanning around the ballroom cautiously.

That girl absolutely needs help to relax. All Martians do.

The interesting thing is, Aphrodite notices that no matter how far those eyes are traveling the room, they always settle back on to the most dazzling blond girl in the room.

Her daughter.

More interesting note is how the Martian girl will shift her position when her daughter is being swallowed by sea of people. The Martian will stop fidgeting after the scene clears and her eyes find her daughter again.

She is a keeper. Aphrodite's thought makes a remark.

The most amusing of all is that how the Martian's girl is not the only one who doing it. Her daughter also keeps the Martian on the edge of her vision no matter how far she walks around the room. When one shifts her glance, the other will seek it, that has been playing in repeat during the entire night.

Emptying her third glass of Venusian wine, Aphrodite decides to take the matter into her own hands. If her child needs a Goddess of love herself to take action, so be it. No matter how sad the irony is.

Aphrodite glides over the room elegantly. A lady always glides. Approaching Ares's daughter, Aphrodite notices how every pair of eyes in the room have now settled on her figure in wonder and adoration. Except a certain pair of amethyst eyes. Which still glued on another Goddess of Love in the room.

Aphrodite should be offended but Ares has been her friends for century now.

The Martian woman never notices her approaching until Aphrodite speaks up behind her. A push, just a little push of encouragement. Aphrodite's eyes are twinkling.

"Daughter of Ares."

The girl looks a bit surprised but she hides it well. The young Martian turns around and bows politely to her. Her amethyst eyes look up with intense stare and bit of curiosity.

What do the Earthians say about courting again? Aphrodite always has difficulty in grasping the Earth's slang and culture.

Oh. She remembers.

"You may screw my daughter."

Aphrodite loves how the gorgeous young face turns into the same color of her cloak while her mouth opens and closes like Earthians's fish. The girl is truly her father's daughter.

Aphrodite swears she would go bald if nothing happens between the two tonight.
