Because Of My Love For You - Coral

Chapter 7

It was late afternoon when Yata had gotten a call. He was out with Rikio mainly on patrol, but they couldn't help it when they passed by the yummy smell of takoyaki. One cannot just endure the temptation to try it- one must indulge in it. So sitting on a bench and watching people walk by, they happily ate it. By the time they were on their second round, halfway through the last one, they received a message.

Please hurry. Anna has been taken.

It didn't take more than a second for the two males to jump and run back to the bar. No one can really say that they had any sane mind to pay attention the the traffic lights, but they were good enough to parkcour their way back...

When they got back, slightly panting and scared, Izumo walked up to them. He handed each a bottle of water. The look they saw on him, made themselves deathly afraid. The two males looked around for the only female of their clan. The only female wasn't presence beside their king.

"It's my fault, I shouldn't have left her to watch the bar with Eric..." Izumo started, "When I came back she was gone and Eric was passed out."

The unconscious boy was lying on the couch, still yet to awake. Another look told the two males that she was taken without struggle- nothing was out of place.

"It's too clean. There's no sign of struggle. And we don't know who is responsible," The barman had crumpled the cigarette in his hand and it was burnt to nothing.

If Anna had looked at her beloved king, she would be able to see the growing and hungry red of the king. Of course, it wouldn't be in such state if she was there, but needless to say, he was hiding his anger. Though, hiding was kinda an understatement. Even if some couldn't tell- they know that he was in a very bad mood.

"I'll... I'm going to look for her!" Yata shot out of the bar on his skateboard.

Before anyone could say anything, they realized that as long as Eric was unconscious, they were on their own. Izumo then turned to Masaomi and Yo.

"You two should ask around, we've stay behind and see if we can pull anything," the barman was definitely pissed, like all of the other members, but he had to be the example. Playing with his lighter, Izumo watched the two said men walk out followed by the rest. He sighed and turned to the king, who was getting up to leave too. Which left Kousuke and himself to watch the unconscious Eric.

Yata knew that it was stupid of him to run out and hope he would find anything useful to help them find Anna. But he is a man of recklessness, and acting on his impulses always seem right at the moment. He realized maybe no one really knows what had happened. There has to be someone who knows about something... or at least be able to help.

With desperate times, comes desperate measures... But it wasn't that hopeless yet.

The redhead stared at his red phone. The grip on it doesn't change, but Yata felt a little better knowing that he would probably help. Breathing in, he dialled Kuroh's number.

"Hello, this is Yatogami Kuroh. Ho-"

"Kuroh! This is Yata, and we need your help," Yata shouted into the speaker.

"Oh, Yata-san, what's-"

"I got no time to explain! Anna is missing, and we don't know who took her..."

"Isn't the Blu-"

The red clansman cut the silver clansman off, not quite listening to the other side and sped off. Yata refused to rely on the Blue Clan. Aimlessly running briefly reminded the man about his ambitions during his high school years. Would this have been their future? Running in fright, searching for something with no clue? But Yata was forced to stop thinking when Yuka and Saina had jumped in front of the rolling man.

If it wasn't their casual clothing that sent an off vibe to the Red clansman, it would definitely by the purple glow in their veins. It wasn't like a King's aura, it was solely in their veins, pulsing with their rushed heartbeats.

"Yata!" Okay maybe they weren't intending on looking for the Red clansman, but they sure as hell were in his way of his skateboard, "Whuh- why- what are you doing here?" Yuka felt tired.

"Yuka? Wh-what's with the purple... It's not a fashion thi-" Yata started.

"Oh god. Yuka... I think, we should be there..." Saina interrupted and pointed to an off distant.

The thing that she pointed to was a red aura. It was huge and unstable, something like a king they all know, however there was no sword. Which could only mean one thing. Someone from the clan found something. Yuka pulled Saina into a sprint towards the chaos. Yata followed closely behind, ignoring the vibrations of his phone.

If only Yata had looked high above the two girls' head, then maybe he could have saved his beloved girl.

Something within the two girls kept their legs running without tiring. They didn't noticed it, but close to their destination, Yata running now- because of the wooded area they navigated through, realized that they have been running the entire time. Could it be something related with the purple glow?

The trio stopped in front of a light metal door, slightly panting but otherwise in swell conditions. They noted of the remote area they were in, that the building didn't have a window- well at least from the looks of it.

Every Red clansmen felt the surge of red aura. They all paused in surprise before running towards that location. It has to be their comrade in trouble. Without hesitating they tore through the city into the forest.

...

The moment his clansmen picked up the weird spike of HOMRA's aura, Reisi was instantly alerted. It was a shame for that member because he was only two seconds too slow for a promotion. The Blue King was already facing out the window. Not only did he picked up a strong aura, he felt two others. However, he couldn't put a name to them. They weren't red, gold, or silver.

"Seri, get the team ready," the man instructed before taking one last look at his current puzzle. He was only five pieces away from completion.

"Yes captain!" Seri saluted before hurrying out.

The vice-captain had each of the members stand before her in a line. She realized that the troublesome kid was missing, but with the severity of the circumstances she was forced to move without the monkey. Goddamn brats. They marched towards the vans.

The first one into the warehouse was Saina. Something that she was glad about, because the scene would have disturbed the two's minds. Before her in the dark- illuminated by the opened door, was Anna, unconscious and wired up to many pipes.

"I didn't think you would be here so fast," A man stepped out of the shadows. In his hand, an empty syringe, "But you brought some fun though?"

Saina knew that voice. She only her it once, him saying, "Continue on". It only took that one time for her to know that he was the cause of everything.

"You!" She growled, but was pushed aside by the Red clansman.

"Anna! Bastard! You'll pay!" Yata leaped forward.

Good grief, let the man enter the fight to leave the woman shell shocked from memory. Saina turned around to face her friend. The moment the man spoke, it sent a force through her head, Yuka is in her nightmare. She's in the same room with the man who started everything.

"Yuka... you can't freak out here. Don't please!" Saina begged.

Yata didn't pay much attention to what was behind him, and only focused on the image burned into his head of Anna. The red aura pouring out of her in violent waves, as if it was being rejected from her body. His hand was blazing two steps into his launch towards the man, but then he stopped. Something was off, he can feel his hand warm, but he couldn't hear the beautiful sizzling of the aura. He looked down- bad mistake. The man was two centimetre away and half a second away from being punched.

The hit man can feel the fist colliding with his cheek. He could almost imagine the sound of bone on bone, but it wasn't present. Yata quickly recovered to find his sight becoming narrow. Yata seized up, what was going on?

"Hi, I can see that you're quite eager to fight. But really, that's kind of boring. Maybe the girls will be a better opponent. Though I have to say, they look quite familiar," the man noted with a laugh.

"Stay away from us!" Saina called out.

"Well then, the mice better run!"

"God dammit, fight me like a man!" Yata shouted, he still saw black and deaf.

"Fuck. You're so annoying for the disabled," the man turned back to the Red clansman, "You should stay down!"

The man narrowed his eyes, focusing intently on the younger male. Yata could feel something wrong, and ten seconds into the wait, his hands were getting too warm. He was burning himself. That had instantly made himself stop his aura. He couldn't on anything.

"Leave him alone!" Saina had left her shocked friend behind towards the man. She had nothing in her hand, and no combat experience, but she had to do something- to end Yuka's nightmare.

She roared as she launched closer. Saina landed a good tackle on the man, but she was enough to make him falter. The girl gasped when he had picked her up by the top of her braided pigtails.

"Now that I take a good look. You are familiar."

Saina thrashed and screamed, her pale purple glowing stronger.

"Oh, the purple blood. That's reminds me... a decade ago I had brats who ran away from the experiment. Could it be?" He mocked.

"Karma's here to bite you back!" Saina screeched, her head didn't hurt that much into a minute ago.

"Well, let's see what I'm supposedly afraid of? A little girl?"

"Wait till you see what you made," the said little girl managed to let out.

Her hands moved slowly in front of the man's face. A quick focus of purple and it burst into a light irritation for him. He growled, and it had slightly scared her.

"Oh, you're scared now. But wouldn't it be more interesting to be faced with what you really fear?" He chuckled, and Saina's sight went from blurry to black.

A/N: If I had to describe what kind AU this is... it would be one where Yata (who wanted independence) lived upstairs of the bar along with Anna, Izumo, and Mikoto, where Mikoto isn't quite dead and Anna would not become King just because Mikoto isn't dead yet. Also located in the near future. Shiro is still kinda... uh gone? Not entirely sure yet. And JUNGLE is still an underlying force.

Okay, it's been a while, and truthfully, I've forgotten how each character interacted with one another... another note, I'm pretty close to the end.

Thanks for reading.
