Elena's p.o.v:
Quite frankly this is the only thing that makes the workday more bearable. Besides imagining strangling Reno with my necktie. But Reno is not nearby, so coffee is a substitute that'll have to do until lunch. Which reminds me, where the fuck did I put my coffee anyway? I hope it wasn't next to my paper work I just finished. I think I need more coffee to remember where I put my coffee.
"Oh for fuck's sake!"
Shit. That sounded a lot like Cloud.
I briefly looked up and saw Cloud with a towel over his hand. And my coffee spilled on the floor.
Yep. Great day to be a Turk.
Cloud merely blinked before he spoke. "Hello Elena. I take it that was your coffee that just spilled on me?"
I looked over my desk and saw the remnants of my coffee dripping off the bottom portion of Cloud's shirt. "Yeah..."
Cloud pulled out a thermos from behind his back. "Want this? I was told to deliver it to you, courtesy of Reno."
I eyed him a little suspiciously. "Its not poisoned?"
Cloud shook his head.
"No salt instead of sugar?"
"No?"
"Plaster of Paris instead of sugar?"
Cloud blinked. "What? No."
"No arsenic?"
Cloud stared blankly. "No. Wait, why arsenic?"
I shrugged, taking the thermos and pouring some into another cup I had on my desk. "Don't know, but this is awesome."
Cloud laughed(rare sight people.) "He said he thought you'd like it. Its the coffee he's been getting every morning."
I blinked and stared into the thermos as if it held the secret to solving world problems. "No wonder he's been so calm."
Cloud shrugged. "Regardless, I hope you have a good day."
I arched my eyebrow again. "What the hell got into you?"
Cloud laughed again(the hells going on?) "The thermos he gave me was spiked with rum."
"Good reason then. Have a good day as well."
Cloud nodded. "Will do."
I placed the thermos in a safer spot on my desk while I continued with my paperwork. I saw the coffee was already cleaned off the floor near my desk. Great for me, I get to keep doing my work. Normally fun, but even I have to agree paperwork sucks sometimes. I felt someone plop next time so I didn't even look that way while I spoke.
"Reno, what do you want?"
Reno made a taken aback noise in his throat. "How'd ya guess?"
I paused my paperwork for the moment and turned my chair. "Just took a guess. I got your coffee."
Reno smiled, bouncing in his seat a little. "Awesome, you like it? I'm giving it ta everyone ta see if we should go there for coffee runs."
I blinked and wondered for a minute if this was the same Reno we all knew. "Its amazing. Where have you been going?"
Reno screwed the lid back on his thermos. "Its called Nitro. They jus' opened anothah location bout a month ago, and its closah to where I live, so I've been stahppin' by there to get my coffee instead."
I nodded, taking a large sip out of my thermos. "Well you've most certainly got my vote."
Reno smiled again (creepy but still cool.) "Aye, Tseng alreadeh gave meh his vote, Rude's gone out twice to get more, and Rufus hasn't stopped sending his secretary to get it for him."
I chuckled quietly while Rude sat back down at his desk. "So were definitely going there to get coffee."
Reno smirked and checked his phone. "Betteh news, they have a few more locations close to Shin-Ra."
Tseng popped his head in the door. "Mr. Sinclair, as much as I appreciate the coffee, I need you to get back to work in your own office thank you."
"Sure thing bossman!" Reno chuckled, giving a sloppy salute to Tseng while he walked away. I heard his chair creak while he rose. "Think I've bothered you enough. Enjoy the coffee, I'll be takin' orders tahmarraw."
I nodded, chuckling while Reno sauntered out the door. Annoying as fuck, good judge of coffee though. I looked at Rude's desk and saw a small collection of empty cups in his trash can. Coffee addict much? But considering the slightly smaller collection in my own trash can, I would not be the one to judge him for having so much.
No, I'll let Reno do that.
