Wow! In the same week.. or so! YAY! Did you miss me?! Lies! Anyway, I have updated!
I don't own anything apart from my pride... well what's left of it :D Oh and the plot!
"Noll my boy!" Martin sounded happy, but slightly... off. "I'm pushing up the wedding, you will be married in three days" Naru froze. He felt shock, anger, frustration, betrayal, hatred and acceptance. He knew he couldn't go against his father, however much he hated what was happening, or what he was being told to do.
"Yes Father" Naru replied. It was forced. He was lying through his teeth "But why so soon?" He needed to know why his father wanted to rush this, to make his life so much worse and not even prolong it.
"I just thought, why wait. All the preparations are done, we managed to find a cake, flowers and rings, and Charlotte's father has agreed. You just need to tell the guests" And with that, Martin hung up, leaving an emotionally pained Oliver...
With Martin
After he hung up, he called for his wife, who was upstairs getting out her day clothes. As she walked in, she saw her husband pacing the room.
"Yes?" Luella asked coldly. Martin took a deep breath, and looked straight into Luella's eyes.
"I moved up the wedding" Martin informed, quickly.
"WHAT!" Luella's face, was the face of betrayal.
"It's not a big deal, they were getting married anyway" Martin defended.
"IT IS A BIG DEAL! YOU ARE PUSHING OUR SON AWAY!" Luella cried, her shoulders shackling violently.
"He will learn to love her, please listen to me, this is for the best" Martin tried to reason.
"If you think so little of marriage... so little of the values of marriage, then why did you marry me!"
With Charlotte
"Yasu! I just got a call from my father! There moving up the wedding!" Charlotte cried, running up to Yasu and weeping on his shoulder.
"You didn't tell your father you didn't want to marry Oliver?" Yaru asked softly, rubbing her back with one hand, and holding her close with the other.
"No... Nothing I try is working! He keeps looking at me with those eyes that say 'you have finally done something right'! How can I say no to him?! Without breaking his heart?!" Charlotte cried louder. Her father had always fussed over her sisters, saying how they all married and increased the family wealth. She was the youngest and had yet to marry. They had never expected anything from her. Never thought it worth it. But now, after she got engaged, for the first time her father looked at her, proud. He had hugged her and said 'that's my girl'. It had been the first time he had even noticed her achievements. When she got her doctorate, when she was promoted to the head of her field, when she had made a world breaking discovery... he just looked to what her older sisters had done, and forgot about her.
They stayed there a little while longer, Charlotte telling Yasu about how her father always looked down on her untill now, Yasu hugging her tight and telling her it would all work out in the end...
With Mai
Mai had decided to get up early this morning, that way she could get a coffee on the way to work. It was half six on a friday. She had just got ready and was about to head out, that's when her phone rang.
"Hello?" Mai asked the person on the other side of the phone.
"Hello Mai" Greeted Naru is his best 'I don't care' voice.
"Oh, morning Naru! I'm not late right? I'm on my way now! My clock must have broken or something!" Mai yelling, panic in her voice.
"Calm down. Your not late, I'm giving you the day off" Naru replied loudly, he would struggle to be heard over Mai's panicking otherwise.
"HUH! I just finished getting ready! Why are you suddenly giving me time off?" Mai asked.
"Mai the wedding has been moved up... I need time to get the venue ready. The wedding is the day after tomorrow" Naru explained. He would have called yesterday, but he had to call everyone else and it was late after that. Also, he wasn't sure how to word it.
"...Oh... well ok, thanks for the update" Mai replied sadly after a minutes hesitation. She was about to hang up when...
"Would you like to help?" Naru heard himself say before he could stop himself.
"Um... I don't know, Charlotte doesn't like me very much" Mai wasn't sure if she could handle Charlotte.
"She wont be there, I was left a list of what to get but everyone else is busy" Naru didn't know why he was saying all this. If she agreed, it would just be him and Mai.
"Oh... ok sure! Where should we meet?" Mai was kinda happy he asked, but she was also blushing like crazy.
"I still have to go to SPR to pick up some paper work, meet me there at seven, any earlier and no shops will be open" Naru instructed.
"Ok! See you soon! Bye Naru!" Mai yelled hanging up. She had to run and get a jacket and change her bag. She didn't need all her work to go town.
Mai felt happy, exited even. She was going to spend the day with Naru, and he wasn't going to keep asking for tea!
She rushed out the door, only stopping once to grab a tea, and a coffee for Naru, and herself at the café. When she reached SPR, Naru was standing outside, ready to leave. Mai silently handed him his tea, and he nodded in thanks.
"So, where first boss!" Mai cheered, smiling brightly.
"I need to get ribbons and place cards" Naru answered, looking at the list he was given "Where can I get those?" He asked. Mai seemed the creative type, she should know this.
"Oh! I know were they are, there is a shop down the road here" Mai pointed in the direction of a bunch of shops.
"Ok, we should go there first" Naru announced as they started to walk in the direction Mai pointed.
When they reached the shop, they located the ribbons.
"Well, there are loads of colours here, what's the colour scheme?" Mai asked, looking at the reds and whites.
"Purple and white" Naru answered reading the sheet still "I need enough to wrap around chairs, balloons and flowers" Naru explained.
"What kind of purple? Light or dark?" Mai asked, looking at the different shades of purple.
"I don't know, or care really. The lighter one?" Naru asked.
"Good enough! What's next?" Mai asked, picking up a LOT of ribbon.
"Place cards, they need to be hand written apparently, so we need about fifty" Sighing, Naru picked up the cards, and a pack of pens.
"Anything else we can get from here?" Mai asked, looking around.
"Balloons, and helium" Naru replied simply, picking up ten packs of ten balloons.
"You can get them to do that for you, you know" Mai reminded.
"I know, but I can't be sure if they can do them all in such short notice" Naru wondered.
"It can't hurt to ask" Mai said, walking to the till.
"Hello miss, how can I help you" The boy at the till asked.
"Well I was wondering, if I could get a hundred balloons with helium for Sunday?" Mai asked sweetly. The boy looked up at her, finally noticing her.
"Well, since you asked" the boy said, winking "I'm sure I can sort something out" The boy then wrote down a slip with the time to pick up "Colours? And what name should they be under?" He asked.
"Naru! What colour balloons do you want?" Mai yelled to Naru, who was walking over with the ribbon and place cards. The mans face fell as he saw Naru approach. He couldn't beat that.
"Red, white and blue" Naru answered, placing the ribbons and cards on the table. He had picked up an extra pack of cards, just in case there are any mistakes (That Mai makes).
"Very traditional" Mai commented.
"What's the occasion?" The boy asked, only slightly hopeful.
"Wedding" Naru answered simply, trying not to sound discussed at the word.
"Your wedding sir?" The boy asked, slightly more hopeful, if it was his wedding, and not with the girl, then they would just be friends.
"Yes" Naru sneered.
"You don't sound very happy... who's the bride?" The boy pressed, really hoping it wasn't the burnet.
"A Charlotte, you wont know her" Mai answered for him.
"Oh, well cheer up mate" The boy smiled, playing the good guy "And you miss, got a date to the wedding yet?" The boy asked, smugly, only looking at the Mai.
"Well I don't know if I can just add more people this late in, the wedding is the day after tomorrow, and I already invited Shiro to keep you company" Naru told Mai, just in case she was considering. He didn't know why he cared, he just did.
"Sorry, maybe another time" Mai apologized. The boy nodded.
"What name do you want the balloons to be under, Naru maybe?" The boy asked.
"Under Oliver" Naru corrected. The boy then wrote everything down.
"Pick them up anytime after 5am on Sunday" The boy then gave them a slip with the time of pick up, then handed Mai a paper with his number on it "If you get bored, give me a call" Mai nodded and walked out. As soon as she was out of view, she ripped up the paper and through it in a near by bin.
"I hate guys like that, he didn't even know my name!" Mai seethed, walking along beside Naru. Naru raised a brow at her, but shrugged and kept walking "Where next?" Mai asked.
"Have you eaten?" Naru asked.
"No"
"There is a café near here, let's get something to eat" Naru suggested, Mai nodded. And they headed to the said café.
With Charlotte and Yasu
Yasu and Charlotte had planned to meet at the fountain in town. Yasu was sitting on the wall of the fountain waiting for Charlotte... she wasn't late or anything, he was just early. Charlotte strolled up to him and smiled sweetly.
"Good morning Yasu! What do we have planned for today?!" Charlotte asked, hugging him and joining him on the wall.
"Well I was thinking, we could go to a spa and relax" Yasu suggested, pushing up his glasses.
"Really?!" Charlotte asked, the when Yasu nodded, she jumped up and down with excitement.
"But first, we should go get something to eat, I'm starving!" Yasu announced, linking arms with Charlotte and strolling to the nearest café...
With Naru and Mai
They had reached a little café, that looked more like a diner. It served milk-shakes and ice-cream even in the morning. They picked a table and took their seats.
"Since you are helping me, order whatever you like" Naru offered. Mai smiled brightly as she scanned the menu. Her attention was drawn away as a familiar couple walked in. Her eyes wide and bewildered. Naru followed her line of sight and saw...
