Chapter 7: Your Honor, Guilty!
"Okay, bye, mom. Love you, too," Jaden said with a smile and hung up.
"What did she say?" Alexis asked.
"She said she was on her way here."
"Then we should get you ready," the blonde said and stood up. "Here, take my hand." She reached out to Jaden and he grabbed her hand.
She lightly pushed him towards her and helped, somehow, to get into his wheelchair. "Ow," Jaden let out a small cry of pain.
"Are you okay?" Alexis asked, worried that she might have hurt her friend.
"No, it's okay," he reassured her. "You get used to it."
"If I ever find out who did this to you… I swear, I'll break their neck."
"Eh, forget about it. We've got better things to do. Like, get me something to eat! I've had nothing to eat except that trashy hospital food!" Jaden whined.
"Poor baby" Alexis teased her friend.
Kayla just came home, stepping through the entrance door, when she saw 2 people in her living room that she never saw before. "Oh my God! Who are you people and why are you in my house?! Get out!" the blonde started screaming at the man and woman, who were currently sitting in the comfortable couch.
The man, who had tanned skin, black eyes, short spiky hair and some facial hair, looked at the girl with a raised eyebrow. "Hello, Kayla, is it?" he asked. His voice was low and husky, which sent shivers down Kayla's spine. And she wasn't sure why; was she attracted to that, or scared?
"Yes! Can you get off of my property now?!"
Then the woman next to the man stood up. She had dirty blonde hair, tied up in a bun, glasses, green eyes, and she was wearing a black mini skirt, white shirt and black jacket, with some matching stiletto shoes. "My name is Alexandra Fitzgerald. This is my partner Eric McKinley. We just have some questions for you."
"What? Questions?" Kayla asked, a hint of fear and confusion in her voice. "What kind of questions?"
"Where were you at the time Jaden Yuki was hit by the car?" the woman, Alexandra asked.
"What?" said Kayla.
"Is it true that you and Jaden don't get along very well, and that you have tried to humiliate him on multiple occasions?"
"Okay, 'Lex, chill" Eric said. "We got an anonymous letter, saying that we should keep an eye on you, Kayla."
"So, what? Now you're going to follow me into the bathroom, too?"
"No," Alexandra said in a serious tone. "We just have some questions for you. God, how many times will I have to repeat myself?"
Kayla gave her a suspicious look and stepped back, crossing her arms over her chest; Bitch-Mode Activated. "I'm sorry, but there will be no questions asked today."
"Excuse me?" the other blonde woman asked.
"I will not answer anything without the presence of a lawyer," Kayla said. "I wonder, though, what your superior would say, if he or she found out that you two were questioning me without a lawyer next to me," she added with a smirk.
Alexis and Eric looked at each other and the blonde woman sighed. "Fine, we'll continue this later. With a lawyer" Eric said and the two of them walked over to the door. "It was nice meeting you, Kayla," the man added and exited the blonde's house.
"Stupid cops...," Kayla said under her breath.
Jaden was trying his best to get a soda from the fridge, but due to him being in a wheelchair he had some problems, when he heard a knock on the front door. "Ugh," he grunted and closed the door of the fridge. "Coming!" he shouted and started rolling to the main entrance. He opened the door and saw two people standing in front of him; a man, probably in his late 20's or early 30's, and a woman, who didn't look too kind. "Can I help you?" the boy asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Jaden Yuki?" the man asked.
The brunette nodded.
"Eric McKinley and this is my partner Alexandra Fitzgerald," he said, first pointing to himself, then to Alexandra.
"Okay... Are you going to talk about Jesus now, because if you are, let me know so that I can close the door in front of you," the brunette said in a bored voice.
"No," Eric chuckled. "We're detectives. She's my work partner. We're here because of your accident."
"Oh! Well, what's up?"
"Mind if we talk about this inside?" Alexandra asked.
"Sure, no problem," the brunette boy said and wheeled himself into the house, plus inviting the two authority figures in. They went into the living room, where Eric and Alexandra sat down on the couch.
"So...?"
"We received a letter, Jaden," the blonde woman said
"A letter?"
"An anonymous one. Whoever wrote it said that we should keep an eye out for Kayla Morningstar. She goes to your school, right?"
"Kayla...? Um... Yeah... She goes to my school... But why her?" Jaden said.
"Well," started Eric, "the letter also explained that she has bullied and humiliated you on numerous occasions. Is that true?"
"Um... Er... Well, sort of... I mean, they were just harmless jokes. I don't take it personally. Kayla's... she's just this wild force of nature..."
"I see," Alexandra said. Suddenly Alexandra's mobile phone went off. "Oh!" she quickly grabebd it out of her pocket and answered it. "Hello? ... I gotta take this," she said and walked outside.
"How's your leg?" Eric asked Jaden.
At first Jaden was hesitant to answer the man, but he decided some human interaction wouldn't hurt. He's been lying in bed for what felt like forever. "It's healing," he replied.
"Good," Eric said with a smile. "Not quite the Homecoming dance you imagined, huh?"
"Not really...," Jaden said with a quiet chuckle.
"Was your girlfriend disappointed that she couldn't dance with you?"
What? thought the brunette. "Um... No... I don't have a girlfriend... And I don't really want one... if you know what I mean...," he said, while trying to avoid direct eye contact with the man; the whole situation went from mysterious to awkward in a second.
"Oh...," Eric started and was about to say something else, when Alexandra came through the door.
"Eric, we have to go."
"Yes, ma'am," he said in a mocking tone. The woman just rolled her eyes and walked to their car. "We'll keep in touch, Jaden" Eric said and went towards the door. "Oh, and, Jaden,"
"Yes?" Jaden asked.
"I do know what you mean," the older man said with a wink and small smile.
Not even a minute laster, Jesse came walking through Jaden's front door. "Why were there cops at your house?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, and closed the door behind him.
"I don't know, why am I in a wheelchair?" the brunette said in a sarcastic tone.
"Good point," the bluenette said. "So… what did they say?"
"Eh, just that they got an anonymous letter in which Kayla is being blamed for my accident."
"Well she is a cold hearted bitch, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually her," Jesse said.
"Ugh, whatever, I'm tired," Jaden grunted. Then he blushed slightly, while looking down. "Um… Jesse?"
"Yes, Jaden?" Jesse asked.
"Would you… Um… Mind carrying me up… to my bedroom?" the brunette asked, looking away. This was his current way of getting from point A to point B; he had to ask someone to carry him. And he didn't really care if his "pride" was being demolished, as many people don't ask for people because of their "pride", he just felt like a constant burden to his friends and family, and he didn't like that feeling at all.
"Oh, sure! No problem!" the bluenette said with a smile. "Come here." He walked over to Jaden and kneeled down slightly. He then extended his arms out and Jaden put his own arms around Jesse's neck, while pushing his body towards the bluenette's. Jesse wrapped his arms around Jaden's slightly skinnier body and turned him, so that he was now carrying him bridal style.
Jaden was by now blushing extremely hard. He burried his face into the crook of Jesse's neck, hoping that his carrier wouldn't notice his reddened face. It didn't work.
"What's the matter, Jay'?" Jesse asked with a chuckle.
"Nothing…" the other teen answered, still trying to hide his red face. Wow… Jesse sure smells nice… Is that a cologne? Or just shampoo? God, I don't even know, but it smells heavenly!
"Jaden, are you blushing?" the bluenette asked with another chuckle. He sure enjoyed embarassing his friend.
"No!" the brunette quickly said, trying to bury his face even deeper into Jesse's neck. Any further and he'd be looking out of the bluenette's back.
"Awww, Jaden's blushing! How cute," Jesse laughed.
"I hate you! Don't touch me! Put me down, right now!" the other teen yelled, embarassed for life. Jesse just continued to laugh and carry his friend.
The bell ending the 3rd period rang, and Jesse, Alexis and Syrus were currently making their way to their next class. "So, when is Jaden coming back to school?" Syrus asked.
"I don't know. Depends on how fast his injuries heal," Jesse answered.
"He'll get better in no time," said Alexis with a smile. "I mean, this is Jaden we're talking about."
"True" laughed Syrus.
"Hey, losers!" said Kayla, appearing out of nowhere.
"What do you want, Morningstar?" Alexis asked with narrow eyes.
The other blonde looked around and grabbed Alexis' arm, dragging her into the girls bathroom. "Listen, I know who hit Jaden."
"Yeah, you!" Alexis said.
"No, you idiot!" Kayla shouted. She then looked around again, making sure nobody is there listening to them. "It was Isis."
"What?! Is-" Alexis' sentence was cut shot when Kayla quickly put her hand over her mouth.
"Be quiet!" she said under her breath. "You don't have to go announce it to the whole world now!"
"Why would Isis hit Jaden with a car?!" the other blonde whispered.
"Ugh" Kayla growled. "She does this weird thing where she does crazy stuff so that I think she's cool."
"Why?"
"I don't know! She's weird like that! I mean, I do not think hitting people with cars is cool!"
"Who does?! Ugh… What are we going to do? Should we tell the police?"
"No!" Kayla quickly said. "I mean, yes it was wrong what she did, but… I'm pretty sure she'd go to jail if they found out."
"So?! She deserves it!"
"Hey! She might be a wacko but she's still my friend!"
"Your friend that hit my friend!"
"Ugh! Look, I'll try to talk to her and make her confess. Happy?" Kayla said.
"Very" Alexis said with a smirk.
"Later," the other girl said and walked away.
"Coming!" Jaden said as he was rolling himself to the front door. He was watching TV when a knock interrupted him. Who could it be?
The brunette opened the door and was surprised to see the officer guy from yesterday. Eric, was it?
"Um… Hi," Jaden said slightly confused. "Can I help you?"
"Hi, Jaden" Eric said with a smile. "I'm actually here to help you."
"You are?"
"May I come in?"
"Sure," the younger brunette said and wheeled to the side, letting the older male enter.
"Jaden, am I right about you being gay?"
"What?" Jaden asked, slightly shocked that the man could tell so easily. "Well… Um… Yeah."
"Why?" he added.
"Well, because I'm too," Eric said with a smile.
"You are?" Jaden's eyes widened. He would have never thought that the man was gay. Although, he should know better not to judge people by their appearance.
"Yes. And this might totally backfire at me and cost me my job, but…"
"But wha-" Jaden was about to finish his question when the older male pressed his lips against his. The younger male's eyes widened in shock. Was this really just hapenning?!
After some seconds, Jaden opened his mouth and let the older male enter with his tongue. Eric's tongue didn't hesitate to explore every corner of the brunette's mouth. Their tongues were twisting and twirling against each other, giving the two male's great pleasure.
The older brunette then slowly removed his lips from Jaden's, kneeled down and looked him in the eyes with a smile.
"Why did you just kiss me?" Jaden asked, blushing.
"I like you, Jaden. A lot," Eric said with a dreamy look that could mealt the coldest of hearts.
"I… I…" Jaden wasn't really sure what to say, to be honest. 20 seconds ago he was kissed by a gorgeus piece of man that's interested in him.
"I'm sorry, if you thought it was weird, though. I swear, I'm not some creep," Eric added. "I can take 'no' for an answer."
Jaden looked the man in the eyes and saw his own reflection. He also something else. Loneliness. Yes, he admited it to himself; he was lonely. He wanted a boyfriend. Someone who would put his arms around him tightly and keep him safe from the world's harms. He was hoping that Jesse would be that one, but he was getting tired of waiting. Especially because Jesse was straight.
"Who ever mentioned no?" Jaden asked with a smirk. He somehow managed to throw himself at Eric, wrapping his arms around him, pressing his lips against his.
"Jaden?" Eric said in confusion, looking at the brunette.
"Just be quiet," Jaden said in a quiet voice and unbuckled Eric's belt.
"Oh" Eric said, realizing what was about to happen.
A while later Alexis arrived at Jaden's home. She knocked on the front door. She then rang the doorbell. Still no answer. "Jaden?!" she shouted and tried the doorknob, to see if maybe the door was unlocked; and it was. She entered the house and looked around. It looked like nobody was home.
"Ugh!"
Alexis turned around. The moan she heared came from upstairs. What was going on here?
She walked up the stars and heard a familiar voice; Jaden's. She continued walking to his bedroom. She was now standing in front of the door, holding the doorknob. At first she started twisting it slowly, but then twisted it and opened the door in one quick move. "JADEN!" Alexis shouted.
"Alexis!" Jaden shouted, turning his head towards her.
Alexis stood there motionless. Right there on the bed was her best friend, half naked, and a much older man, who she never saw before, on top of him. His head… hovering… over… Jaden's… private parts…
"Oh my God!" Alexis shouted, covering her eyes with her hand. She closed the door and rested against it, her eyes still wide in shock. "Um… Jaden? Can we talk? Preferably clothed."
"Just a minute!" she heard Jaden say inside the room. Then there was some stumbling and the door opened. "Hi," Jaden said. "What's up?"
"Who is that?" Alexis asked first.
"Um…," Jaden closed the door and smiled awkwardly. "Eric."
"Eric?"
"He's… A detective… Trying to find out who hit me…," Jaden explained, his eyes meeting everything around him, except Alexis' eyes.
"You're sleeping with a detective?!" the blonde practically shouted.
"No!" Jaden protested. "This is our first time doing anything… And… It sorta just happened."
"Anyway," Alexis said shaking her head, "I've got some news!"
"What sort of news?"
"Isis confessed to hitting you with the car!"
