Richard

I looked at Gar as he laid down on the bench and passed out. I wondered what happened to him. I started to walk towards him but stopped when my younger brother, Jason, asked, "Do you know him, brother?"

I finally found my voice and answered, "It's a friend of mine but I don't know what he's doing here."

Jason jumped of the swing, running past me and sank down next to Gar. "He looks hurt. Should we wake him up?"

"No, we'll take him home and have Alfred look him over." Jason nodded at me as I picked up Gar with my left arm under his neck and my right arm under his knees. As we walked away from the park I told Jason to hold onto my jacket even if he's an annoying little brother I don't like him being far away from me when we're outside.

We reached the house in no time. Once we got there Alfred was there to greet us. "Hello, Young Masters." He stopped and looked at Gar. "Who may this be?"

"He's a friend of mine. He looks hurt but we don't know what's wrong with him. Could you look him over?" I asked our butler who was more like an uncle to us than a butler.

"Yes, I can. Go lay him down in the guest bedroom and I'll be there in a minute." I nodded and walked towards the room with Jason trailing behind me.

I laid Gar on the bed and waited until Alfred came back with a first aid kit and a separate bag that I had never seen before.

"Young Masters I must ask you to leave the room until I am done checking over your friend." He said pushing us out the door.

"Okay, fine. We get it, Alfred! Quit pushing us out the door." I swatted his hand away and grabbed Jason's hand pulling him out of the room to Alfred to his things.

I kept dragging the complaining Jason until I reached the gaming center and as soon as he was in there he forgot what he was whining about. We waited there for about an hour then Alfred came and got us. When we got to the room we saw Gar on the bed the way we had left him.

"Master Grayson, may I speak with you?" He signaled for me to follow him out of the room.

"Is everything okay, Alfred?" He nodded.

"I could not find any fatal injuries but something in this boy is different. When he wakes up ask him if he ingested anything abnormal or got a cut that might have gotten infected." I nodded and he bowed and left. I went back to the room and found Jason standing next to Gar watching him.

"Jason, what are you doing?"

"Something feels different." He tilted his head to the side.

I raised an eyebrow at him. "What are you talking about?"

"There's something off about him."

I looked at him and he just stared at Gar. Then he just left like he had never said anything.

I just stood there. "Am I missing something?"

"Maybe." I heard a voice and turned towards Gar to see him trying to get up.

"Hey, be careful. You passed out a couple of hours ago. No need to rush."

"What happened? Where am I?" He asked and I looked at him with a look that said 'really?'

"I was about to ask you the same thing and as to where you are you are at my house. I brought you here after you passed out in the park." I told him while I took a seat next to him on the bed.

"How did you know I was in the park?" He looked shocked as if I had known he would be there all along.

"We were there before you even got there but I guess you were so out of it you didn't notice us."

"We? Who else was there?" He asked a bit concerned.

"My younger brother, Jason." I said

"Oh, okay." He looked relieved. I wonder who he thought was there.

"But yeah, that's what happened. Now, you wanna tell me how you ended up passing out in the park?"

He sighed. "Had a fight with Ma- my dad. It didn't go too well but yeah…"

"I getcha. Father problems. It's okay, no need to say more." I laid a hand on his shoulder and he smiled at me.

I squeezed his shoulder and said, "Anyways, you should rest. I'll be back later to wake you up."

He nodded at me and laid back down. I strut towards the door and as I was leaving he called me.

"Yeah?" I turned around and face the sleepy face.

"Thanks, man." He snuggled closer to the pillow and fell asleep again.

"No problem." I whispered and turned off the light as I left the room. I sighed. I would have to interrogate him tomorrow.
