Three Years Ago

Clark even in his red K induced had never thought that he would be in a situation like this. Not that he's complaining, hell he doesn't think anyone would complain about having a girl like Giselle on your lap kissing you even when you are driving.

Giselle got out as Clark went into his apartment. She looked down at the phone and saw another death threat from Black Mask. She's not doing the job and the worlds full of assassins. He can get someone else to do it.

She comes inside and sees Kal as he likes to be called staring at the mirror with his shirt ripped open and drained and tired. She sees the red ring and calmly collects it. Now that she thinks about it she's never actually seen him without it.

Giselle watched as he grabbed the ring and his eyes flashed red for a moment before she took it off him. "What is this?"

"A small piece of my past." Clark answered.

Giselle looked at it. It's nothing but a high school ring from the looks of it. "What was it doing to you?"

"It used to make me feel better." Clark replied. "It's not working anymore."

"What changed?" Giselle asked.

"I met you." Clark answered easy enough. Giselle is sharing her past and it was far from clean but it's also making Clark want to share. But how do you open up about the fact that you accidentally murdered your own brother or sister.

Giselle smiled hearing and pushed herself against him kissing him until she was breathless.

In the present Giselle sat and calmly loaded her gun seeing Campos pace the floor nervously Fenix is long overdue which likely means something happened during the run. Giselle looked down and her phone was ringing with an unfamiliar number. "Hello"

"What kind of made up name is Yashar?"

Giselle let out a little smile she figured he would survive she didn't think he'd be dumb enough to come back for more though. "What kind of idiot calls back for more? You know when I saw you again I was hoping you'd call, but not under these circumstances."

"Yeah, every time you kiss me I tend to get shot at." Clark replied. "Now put Campos on the line would you."

Gisele handed the phone to Campos as the man sat down and listened.

"Was that how Braga inspires loyalty… by killing his own drivers."

"Told you when we met drivers are a dime a dozen." Campos replied. "It's just good business."

Clark took a moment to calm down. "And speaking of business I want to make a trade."

Campos started pacing again. "Braga doesn't negotiate."

Clark had a smile on him. "Fine then you can explain how $60 million dollars worth of drugs disappear. I think that was the only shipment he had all month wasn't it? That can't be good for business losing not only time but product as well."

"What do you want?" Campos asked.

Clark leaned back hoping this would work. "Six million cash, delivered by Braga himself." He listens to Campos laugh at the other end. "I don't like being shot at. Ask her if you want… point is I'm not going to put my neck out again unless he's got something to lose too."

"He'll never go for it." Campos warned.

Clark listened to the other end. "Fine but either I deal with Braga or you will."

"When and where?" Campos asked.

Campos listened as Clark gave him the address and the meeting time for tonight. Not even enough time to plan.

Clark hung up the phone not believing he agreed to this he should have just found Campos with Superhearing and hold him over the statue of liberty until the little gnomo told him where to find Braga. He walked past Brian who was checking under the hood of his car. "Still trying to figure out how I beat you?"

Brian shook his head. "Not anymore. Used one of these in Miami but under the engine is a whole different story. Not to mention whatever this is." Brian pointed out the kryptonite as Clark backed away.

Clark leaned back and just tried to figure out a way to stay calm until sundown.

Brian looked at him and there was something he had to know. "So did Chloe ever mention anyone from her mom's side?"

Clark shakes his head no. "Her mom wasn't exactly her favorite subject. She walked out on her when she was still a little kid."

Brian nodded. "It seems to be a family standard among O Conners. I don't understand how Braga got her I treated her as an anonymous source how did he even get on her track. And who did he send to deal with her."

Clark looked at him. "Braga didn't send anyone to deal with her. He did it himself. And he didn't find her by chance. Chloe was ratted out by Lex Luthor."

Brian simply closed his fist in frustration. He and his family have never been close and he spent a fair share of his youth in trouble for it. It wasn't until he let Dom go and then reunited and buried the hatchet with Roman that he gave family another chance trying to be a better man. "What do you mean Lex Luthor sold her out?"

Clark rolled his eyes why do people have such a hard time not realizing he's evil… though to be fair he himself didn't see it until Lex flat out told him on Dark Thursday. "Lex sold Chloe out because he was trying to get leverage on me. I think he was hoping Chloe would call me for help."

"Did she?" Brian asked.

Clark shook his head and grabbed a wrench going for the car now that the kryptonite was sealed back up in lead. "No she didn't tell me… I didn't even think anything was wrong until the night I met Letty."

"What happened?" Brian asked he was curious about it.

"Saved Letty, I took her to my apartment so she can get cleaned up next thing I know I got a phone call from Lois telling me… well, telling me my best friend was dead." Clark replied clenching a wrench so hard it snapped in two. "I went back to Smallville… couldn't even go to Chloe's funeral because it would have made it a circus. Took her phone and got all the proof I needed."

Clark threw Brian Chloe's phone as the federal agent looked through and saw Lex's threats.

Brian closed the phone well that's… "I'm going to Kansas and arrest a billionaire."

Clark thought about it sounds tempting. "Already tracked the phone number it comes to a dead end. And even if it didn't I'm sure Lex would have some grade A defense ready about how it somehow wasn't his fault. Besides right now I want Braga's head more then Lex's."

Brian looked at Clark. "You're going to kill him aren't you?"

Clark thought for a moment before honestly answering. "I don't know. But I'm not letting him get away with this."

Letty and Dom came in enjoying just a day out for the two of them.

Dom looked at Brian's face and saw concern on it. "What's that look about O Conner I thought busting Braga was your idea?"

Brian innocently shrugged Clark is going to do what he has to do. "Just talking about what to do with Lex Luthor?"

Letty looked at Clark. "You burned his house down and ruined anything he could have had with his fiancé. How else can you hurt him if you won't kill him farmboy?"

Clark looked at her as a fun idea entered his head but no… he won't terrorize innocent people to get back at Lex. He'll find another way. "Nothing at the moment, I'm more focused on tonight."

Letty lets it go seeing no reason for Clark to do something to Lex at the moment given the three of them are planning on taking down Braga tonight. Though a good part of her wonders how his girlfriend is going to react when he double crosses her and where things fell apart for them last time.

Metropolis Three Years Ago

Clark stood on top of the Daily Planet. He doesn't know why Giselle wants to meet here but she said it would be a special occasion. However it can't be that special if she's twenty minutes late and he had to send her a text to remind her.

He watched as Giselle came into the Planet roof and looked at him.

Giselle took a moment and was curious. "Why did you want to meet me up here?"

Clark looked at her confusion clearly written on his face. "I didn't arrange this you did."

Giselle looked at him as a moment of panic strikes her. "You didn't tell me to meet you here at midnight."

Clark looked at her and realized it. "So if you didn't text me then who did."

The Planet's roof door was blasted off its hinges showing the fearsome hand of four followed by the Black Mask.

Clark watched as the female member held one of her katanas at Giselle's throat and Black Mask held his gun aimed at her head. "Easy kid you're not fast enough to stop both."

"What the hell are you doing?" Giselle asked.

Black Mask looked at her. "You were slower then I'd like. Had to improvise."

"How did you use let alone get our phone numbers?" Clark asked.

Black Mask had a smile on his face this was well worth it. "For a couple dollars you can make any number show up on a text. I just had to send our little sword mistress here to take a look at Ms. Harabo's phone so we can have your number."

Clark watched as the other three got behind him. He smiled at them almost like reminding them of the last time the fought him as they all took a step back. "And what exactly are you trying to accomplish here?"

Black Mask looked at Giselle. Isn't that precious she fell for the mark. "Just trying to get what I paid for." He takes another gun and throws it at Giselle's feet. "Pick it up and do your job."

"Your job?" Clark asked.

Black Mask looked at him oh this was definitely worth it. "Didn't anyone tell you boy, we sent the lovely Ms. Harabo here in to assassinate you. Why else would a girl like her spend time with a freak like you?"

Clark took a step but Giselle whimpered as the female hand of four held the katana closer to her throat. Clark turned to Giselle and when she looked away he knew it was true. Well it's not like gun wasn't a big clue but she said she wasn't... not anymore.

The female hand of four released Giselle and the ex Mossad agent picked up the gun. But knew they'd be slaughtered if she aims it anywhere but at Clark for the moment.

Black Mask smiled his gun aimed at her. "Good, now pull the trigger or we'll kill you both."

Clark stood against his charger with Brian and Dom against the humvee. Right now he's just waiting for Giselle and Braga.

Brian stood by the box and turned to Dom. "Well, the good news is when we get this guy; you walk out of here a free man."

Dom looked at him maybe Brian is still the same buster he was then if he actually believes that. "Is that what they told you?"

"Yeah, that's the deal." Brian replied.

"You still put milk and cookies out for Santa Claus?" Dom asked.

"Yes" Brian muttered.

Clark looked at them as Campos' car pulled up. "Don't get me started on that red cynical drunk."

Campos looked at Clark as Giselle got out of the car behind him with other poeple and a whole lot of guns staring at Clark not sure what's about to happen.

Campos had a wide smile looking at Clark. "You got balls kid, so where's our stuff?"

Brian opened one of the empty cases. "You mean the stuff that used to be in here, right? Well, you'll see it when we see Braga. That was the deal."

"No worries, Braga keeps his word." Campos assured them.

Clark watched as an elderly man came out of the car. Clark looked to Giselle but saw her eyes unmoving and just heard a rapid sound like a song. Clark looked and realized it was coming from Braga. It's his heartbeat.

Braga dropped a suitcase at Clark's feet. "Two million, you get the rest when I get my money."

Clark sighed in exasperation. "Not to quote Pinky and the Brain but you guys are pondering what I'm pondering right?"

Brain nodded and Dom replied. "He ain't Braga."

Before anything else could continue what the FBI stormed in guns blazing as Clark tackled the old man to the ground while Dom and Brian ducked for cover. Clark watched as everyone scattered about to save one person in particular except for Giselle as she took aim ready to take down anyone who tried to shoot her. Clark watched as Campos was escorted to his car and gave one last smile to the three. Clark got to his feet livid having finally found the actual Braga as he goes for the truck only for one of the men in FBI getup to shoot him in the shoulder with a handgun.

To Clark's own surprise the bullet went through his arm and made a clean hit as an all too familiar feeling of weakness hit him with the bullet stuck in his shoulder. Clark realized while most of them are feds the two using handguns aren't seeing the lead clips. He grabbed one with his only good arm and threw him at the other knocking them both down as the effects of kryptonite take hold but that won't stop him, not now, not when he's this close.

Campos the genuine Arturo Braga looked at Clark still coming for him. "Are you kidding me?" Unbelievable even with a bullet in him Clark's still coming his way. "Run him down!"

Giselle saw Clark approaching Braga as his car picked up speed. What's he doing? Giselle didn't even wait and simply pulled him out of the way letting Braga go unchased. "What are you trying to get yourself killed?"

Clark saw the two 'feds' aiming behind her and quickly pulled Giselle into him and turned around shielding her with his own body as he took two more shots in the back and fell on top of her knocking both down.

"Come on Luthor wants him alive." The first fed ordered.

The second one shook his head. "After what he did to us at his parents' graveyard I'm not taking any chances perforate him."

They kick Clark off Giselle and once they do she turns around with a gun in each hand and she empties each one into one of the people that shot Clark. "Good advice"

She quickly up gets Clark up over her shoulder not again. "Can you walk?"

"Not for long. I gotta get these bullets out." Clark answered.

Giselle nodded and helped him to her car. Clark saw the FBI closing in and Dom was running out of time. Grunting through pain he reached into his pockets and threw his keys at Dom's feet.

Brian looked at his feet. "Get out of here Dom. Go!"

Dom got into the Challenger and quickly left without a moment's hesitation just behind Giselle and Clark. Brian looked at it he was seconds away from getting Braga, getting justice for Chloe and all the drivers he had murdered. He wants to know what fed got sloppy and jumped the gun because he's going to nail him right to the wall.

Author's Notes

Thanks for the reviews

I was going to have it be longer but this seemed like a good place to stop it but next chapter should be much longer.
