Lately it had seemed that Liesel's days were getting increasingly longer and she knew that it didn't bode well. There were things on Liesel's mind which were troubling her but with everything currently going on in Mystic Falls, it didn't mean that everything would just come to abrupt stop. Regardless what was going on, it still meant that Liesel had continue on with her every day life like nothing had happened and for the most part she had to pretend like nothing was wrong. Grabbing a couple of textbooks from her locker Liesel stuffed them into her bag before slamming her locker door shut and making her way down the hallway towards the car park. The school day was finally over and she just wanted to get out of the building and go home, the entire school was still in shock over the death of Mr. Tanner but Liesel knew that her former jackass of a history teacher wasn't killed by a mountain lion like everyone else believed. She was one of the few people that knew the truth; that Damon Salvatore killed William Tanner. With each passing day Liesel was somewhat accepting the truth that vampires existed, she thought they were legends and the stuff of make believe that appeared in bad films and even worse books but vampire's were works of fictions they were actually real. Like Stefan had pointed out to here if she was a 'psychic' then why couldn't other things be possible such as the existence of vampires? Speaking of Stefan, he had been kind of good about the entire thing with the whole giving Liesel space and promising not to tell anyone about her. Just because Liesel knew the truth about Stefan and knew that he wasn't behind any of the recent animal attacks, it didn't exactly mean that she could trust him. Sure Stefan knew her secret and promised not to tell anyone not to mention he used to be friends with one of her ancestors but he was still a vampire Liesel wasn't sure whether or not she could trust him. But deep down she knew that she was going to have to. Stefan had essentially saved her life, he had promised to protect her secret which meant that Liesel was going to have to reluctantly trust the vampire.

"Hey…"

Speak of the devil, Liesel thought as she ran into Stefan who gave her a small smile, for some reason Stefan was going out of his way to speak to her, sit next to Liesel in the few classes that they shared and try to become her friend which Liesel wasn't sure bothered her or amused her given the fact that he never gave up trying to be her friend. Liesel refused to give into him, she never had friends and that's the way things were going to stay.

"Hey right back…"

"Anything changed?" Stefan asked referring to Liesel's card reading, which still hadn't changed despite her knowing the truth about Stefan and Damon, which meant that she was missing something that was right in front of her. The question is what it was. It was irritating Liesel to no end and it would continue to irriate her until she finally solved the problem. But Liesel knew she was going to have to figure it out sooner or later as Damon being here in Mystic Falls wasn't good for anyone. The guy was a vampire which was bad enough but according to Stefan, his brother had pretty much zero humanity left and would kill anyone he liked which was shown to be true when Damon killed Tanner in front of Stefan and Liesel, simply because he could. That meant pretty much everyone here in Mystic Falls was at risk of falling prey to Damon and according to Stefan, Damon was pretty good at covering his tracks and making all his victims look like they had been attacked by animals.

"Not since this morning, that might mean that nothing is going to charge or any changes aren't concrete yet. Like I said things change, the future is petty unpredictable like that if you mind the joke and I only see glimpse of what could be. I'm never really shown the whole picture, but rather snippets of it. But I'm going to check again later on this evening and hopefully I'll have something for you." Liesel replied with a small frown as she awkwardly stuck one of her hands in the back pockets of her jeans. "So how's the indifferent brother? I've seen him around town and I think he's noticed me but as far as I know, he still believes I don't remember anything from that night."

"I'm not exactly sure, as with Damon I don't know anymore but he's decided to stick around town for a while so that can't be good. The question is, what is he up to?" Stefan noted as him and Liesel slowly walked out the school building, Damon being here in Mystic Falls meant that Liesel's life was getting all the more harder. She was actively going out of her way to avoid running into Damon at all costs and it was a lot harder than Liesel first thought it was going to be. Mystic Falls was after all a small town. Plus they both came from the founding families which meant sooner or later their paths were going to run into each other. Normally Liesel never had to worry about avoiding someone as generally everyone avoided her but she was soon learning life wasn't that simple when vampires got involved.

"I can try and find out." Liesel wearily began.

"Liesel…"

"Relax. I'm not going to go up to Damon and ask about his evil plans, firstly as that would be a one way ticket to my death which I'd rather avoid and secondly it's just stupid and asking for trouble which I really don't need as I have enough to deal with. Not to mention it would just blown the whole thing about Damon believing that I don't remember what he did to Tanner. There are ways around these kind of thing; if you can get something of Damon's I can try and read it, see if I can get something off it. Maybe that can help figure out what Damon wants and is planning to do." Liesel offered with a causal shrug of her shoulders.

"His future? I thought you said that you don't have much control over it." Stefan questioned.

"I don't. I'm better with seeing the future of an object then having a premonition about the actual future. But there's nothing else I can think off at the moment so I figure I'd give it a try and see if I get anything. The worst thing that could happen is that nothing happens or I see something that's barely a minute into the future or ten years into the future. I don't know what could happen but it's worth a try, people are getting hurt and killed because of Damon and we can't exactly sit around and wait for Damon to go after his next victim, we have to do something." Liesel wearily said with a small frown.

"What do you need?" Stefan asked.

"Preferably Damon but I can use something that belongs to him, something that he's had for a while. The more an item has a history with Damon, then the better chance I have of actually getting something, it serves as a better connection. It's complicated to explain but his past will help me see his future if that makes any sense to you." Liesel rattled off, saying all of this out loud made her sound like she was actually crazy. But she understood what she was talking about.

"I'll try and find something, I'll have to make sure that–." Stefan begun before being interrupted by Elena making her way over and trying to see what was going on. A big thing Liesel hated about this town and practically everyone who lived here; everyone was too damn nosy for their own good, always wanting to know what was going on. It was insuffering to no ends.

"Stefan there you are…" Elena said interrupting before she stopped and realized that Stefan was talking to Liesel; undesirable number one in Mystic Falls. "Um, what's going on here? What are you doing–"

"Relax Gilbert, before you start getting ahead of yourself, you really don't need to worry that empty and rather little vampid head of yours as I'm not trying to steal your boyfriend, we're just going over some work as he's just my lab partner. Trust me, he's not my type. Too bright, shiny and desperately needing a kick in the teeth to get my interest." Liesel retorted with a roll of her eyes, like she said people in this town couldn't keep their nose out of other people's business and tended to jump to the wrong conclusion. Things like that made Liesel all the more desperate to get out of this town before it killed her.

"Actually we're friends." Stefan corrected and Liesel felt herself stiffen up as she couldn't believe that Stefan had told such a bold and outrageous lie. It was unbelievable, Liesel was pretty certain that she was going to pinch herself to make sure that she wasn't imagining this and it seemed like Elena was pretty much on the same wave length as Liesel could have sworn that she had seen Elena's jaw drop.

"Your friends? The two of you are friends? Since when?" Elena asked in disbelief, clearly not believing that for a second and Liesel actually found herself being rather offended. Was the idea of her having an actual friend that absurd or insane? Not that she wanted Stefan to be her friend but she was talking about the principle of the matter. Liesel could have friends if she really wanted to, it was just that she preferred not to as she found everyone here to be boring and not worth her time. Liesel enjoyed her own company and she saw nothing wrong with it and she wouldn't conform and go make friends because everyone thought she was weird for having no friends. Liesel was perfectly fine being by herself and she had no reason to change that. But if Liesel did decide to reverse her rule on the whole having friends thing, she was certain that she could probably make a friend. Well maybe only 15% certain but that was beside the point. Liesel was about to open her mouth and make a rude not to mention sarcastic comment in response before proceeding to insult the doe eyed naïve good two shoes annoying moron that was Elena Gilbert but Stefan saw this coming and spoke before Liesel had a chance to get a word in edgeways.

"Yeah we are, is that a problem?"

"No?" Elena replied but it sounded more like a question than anything.

"As much as I hate to interrupt this riveting conversation but Stefan and I are actually in the middle of something right now and since you are irrelevant to what is going on here, you can take my not so subtle sign for you to leave and perhaps go far away. I'm sure that you and Stefan can survive without being by each others side for five minutes and once we're done here, Stefan will call you and then you two can go back to aimlessly staring into each other's eyes like fools in love. So goodbye Gilbert, try not to over think the situation." Liesel said, glaring at Elena until she eventually left which took longer than it should have been and once she had gone Liesel motioned for Stefan to follow her.

"You didn't have to be like that Liesel." Stefan said and Liesel rolled her eyes as another thing she didn't need was some man telling her what to do or how to behave. She already had a father and didn't need another one. George Caffrey was the only father she would ever need. If Liesel wanted to be lectured, she would go to her father and tell him that she been sent to the principals' office twice today.

"I'm always like that. It's part of my automatic defense system and whilst we're speaking about things we should be doing, I have no idea why you told Elena Gilbert of all people that colossal lie about the two of us being friends, thanks for that by the way as my life isn't hard enough already without you telling people such nonsense. The rumour mill is going to start flying off the handle with that one. I can already see it, Caffrey girl uses voodoo magic to cast a spell on the new hot shot superstar of the football team! Oh the people with be hysterical! I can already see them gathering up their pitchforks and marching to my doorstep to have me burned alive for practicing the dark arts…" Liesel said in an irritated tone of voice as she started to head in the direction of her car.

"What is so wrong with the two of us being friends?" Stefan asked.

"Do I really have to answer that? You're the new star of the football team, you are dating Elena Gilbert and you hang out with her and the rest of her vapid, self centered and shallow friends who pretty much all share the same sized pea brain between the lost of them. Despite your best efforts to ignore it all; I am still the black sheep of this town. I am person no grata, I don't have any friends and now you've gone ahead and told one of the most popular people in school that I have a friend, that you are my friend. Do you have any idea what you've just done Stefan? You've pretty much committed social suicide as being associated with me is like receiving the scarlet letter. It makes you an outcast and a piece of trash. That pretty cheerleader girlfriend of your might actually dump you for telling her that you're my friend. If I hadn't made this clear already, I am public enemy number one here in Mystic Falls. You do not want to be associated with me."

"Why won't you let me be your friend?" Stefan demanded and Liesel stopped in her step and turned to face Stefan, she couldn't believe that he refused to budge on this whole thing. No matter how nasty Liesel was, Stefan refused to let this whole friend thing go. Everything Liesel threw at Stefan, he just seemed to take it in his stride. It was downright frustrating to Liesel as she couldn't get rid of Stefan although she would begrudgingly admit that she was impressed with the amount of backbone he displayed.

"What makes you think that I need friends? I sure as hell don't need any friends or anyone, I've been by myself for the last sixteen years and I've managed just fine and I don't see any reason to change that. I'm fine being by myself as you know that saying? About how your born alone and you sure as hell die alone. That is me in a nutshell and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks because I don't need anybody. I don't need friends to validate myself, I don't need the approval of other people to dictate my life. I am not craving acceptance from my peers, I don't judge my worth by how many friends I have or don't have. I am perfectly okay by myself and I don't have to prove that anyone, not even you." Liesel spat in a venomous tone of voice.

"Aren't you lonely being by yourself constantly and have to always keep secrets?"

"Aren't you?" Liesel retorted.

"Yeah I am, which is why I want to be your friend Liesel. I know what it's like being on the outside and being different from everyone else and having to keep secrets and I like you Liesel. Your interesting to say the least and that's not including your abilities, neither of us is normal Liesel. I'm a hundred and sixty one year old vampire and you're a sixteen year old psychic who hates being called a psychic. I want to be your friend Liesel…"

Liesel sighed, she knew she was going to end up regretting this later but Stefan was kind of growing off on her especially since he had no problem with telling people he was her friend. "You know my life was far less complicated before you arrived..."
