I awoke in a small room lit only by a small window at the top corner. I was chained to a wooden chair like an animal. Before me was a large iron door with a small bared window. I jolted in my chair and quickly learned that there was no way I was getting out of here on my own.
I looked up at the door and saw eyes peering in on me. Shortly after the large door opened and I saw the face of an orc lit by a torch he was carrying.
He grunted and said to me with a think orcish accent, "You aren't going anywhere pig."
The orc looked me up and down and exited, slamming the door hard behind him. I started sweating prefusely and began to panic. No one knew where I was going or that I had been taken.
Out of no where I hear a small disturbance behind my chair. I strain my neck trying to see what the noise was. A small dainty foot was sticking out of the darkness. It quickly withdrew upon noticing I had looked back.
"Who's back there?" I mumbled with my strained voice.
"Who.. Who are you? I'm scared," replied the shadowy figure in a women's voice.
"My name is Fayran, nephew of King Terenes of Lordaeron... Who are you milady?
"Oh.. Oh my. They've captured a member of the royal family?" The girl muttered as she raised up to show her face. Although slightly covered from dirt, her beauty was breath-taking. "My.. My name is Isabell, daughter of Nobleman Aethas Telrador."
It was at that moment she turned her head and I saw her ears. Isabell is an elf. I was thrown back for I had seen few elves in my life.
"Teldrador.. I think I know him. I've passed him before while walking through the throne room, he was discussing elf and human relations with my uncle."
"Yes, that is probably correct... ...Fayran... I'm scared. I was just outside the city walls picking apples to bake a pie when I was snatched. They told me they are going to hold me here for ransom," said Isabell. I could tell she was even more frightened than I.
"They told me the same thing Isabell. But don't worry, I'm going to find a way out of here, I promise," I said trying to impress her. I however had no idea what to do.
"Thank you Fayran, thank you," Isabell said as she began to quietly cry. I felt terrible for her. Such a beautiful, delicate girl, in such a scary situation.
I sat in my chair and looked around for something that I could use to free myself. There was nothing. I was so frustrated. For some reason I was no longer concered with my own safety. For now, I was only concered with saving Isabell. I became angered, and impatient. I started jolting back and forth in my chair and yelling. Suddenly I felt a strong rush of energy radiate from my body. I began to glow and the chains turned red. Shortly after they melted right off of my wrists. I lost my breath in disbelief and stared at the still molten chains. I turned and looked at an awe stricken Isabell.
"What.. Are you?" asked Isabell.
"I.. I think.. I think I'm now of age that I've gotten my holy strength. Bless the light!"
I never would have guessed that I would be anything special. I watched Arthas train with other paladins and saw such physical stength emerge as he matured. But I was something much more. The light looked down and blessed me with it's gift. I am a priest, and my powers are finally here. This is my chance to escape.
