Chapter 7: New Powers, Concerns, and...Love?

{Ulbert and Touch}

Ulbert was impressed with the power the humans now showed.

'Something to do with their so called 'gods' perhaps'-Ulbert thought to himself, dodging another half-dozen ax-blades that also created (SMITE) during the swings.

'That's annoying'-Ulbert thought once more.

[BANE OF HOLY]-Ulbert said, casting a spell that should weaken the holy-type element they seemed to be using.

A few swings later by the ax-wielding humans, that were oddly quiet, proved that his spell had worked as no more (SMITE)s came forth.

The humans that were still holding to their phalanx formation, upon seeing this recent development, broke the formation.

A group of: spear-wielders with shields and sword-wielders with shields; rushed toward him like a gushing hose, momentarily surprising him with their sudden movement as well as their speed.

'If i were still a level One-hundred player, i might be a little nervous right now'-Ulbert thought to himself before a smile appeared on his face.

He and the others were not sure why, but the new powers and spells they had acquired after level one-hundred were as surprising as they were expected. As they had progressed past that threshold their new-found abilities seemed to be determined by their job-classes and their desires.

And what had Ulbert desired for so long? A World-class item that could summon endless numbers of strong demons.

Ulbert's new ability was soo much better than that though, he could choose the level of the demons summoned.

"Woe to thee poor souls, for thou know not what thy am. For yee hath dared to attack the Ultimate Evil! Pray thee now for a quick release from this oncoming hell, for thou's gods have brought you to this doom!"

"[Amageddon Evil Legionous: Level Two]!"-Ulbert swept his arms wide, in a theatrical way, as a 'doorway' appeared before him, from which demons began pouring out of it.

"Mindless demons vs mindless humans, hahaha, fitting"-Ulbert snidely remarked as this endless host poured forth.

Upon learning this ability, he and his friends had had a truly endless number of demons to 'grind' for experience and reach even further heights of power in the 'New World'.

They had even tried cloning themselves during one experiment to send them through this 'doorway', but nothing had come back out from it. That was...oh...around two centuries ago now.

'Such a shame, what things could i learn if i could freely enter and leave that realm of endless demons?'-Ulbert thought as demons continued pouring forth from the 'doorway'.

'Perhaps it's because it's a different reality, and there's some kind of unknown law or something that keeps us away? Then what is this place if not another reality?'-Ulbert pondered as he watched what he considered 'Mid-level' demons tear their way into the humans without mercy.

Ulbert sighed as he closed the 'doorway' or 'portal' since what was already released would be more than enough to finish what remained of the enemy. He couldn't tell because there were too many hulking demons within sight to be able to see the smaller humans.

{Pantheon of Gods}

"Elange!? Where does that Gate lead to?!" -Hardy yelled as they continued watching the scene happening below them on the mortal's realm.

Unlike his twin sister who could learn basically anything quickly, Elange had opted to have a...keen insight into whatever he saw or heard. This coupled with his sister's ability meant that knowledge, no matter what it was about, could be learned in short order.

Currently, Elange was experiencing something like a...sensory overload.

"Elange!"

"Wha...oh no...no,no,no,no, NO!"-Elange began as he grabbed his head and shook his head in denial of something.

"What is it, what's wrong Elange?'-Emroy asked, becoming...alarmed at the younger god's reaction.

"It's, it's, it's a Gate to the true Hell, the Hell of all worlds, all realities, a hell for all, even for, for Gods!"-Elange finally said, yelling out the last word, shocking the others.

"And this...Ulbert-being, can just open it?!"-Hardy exclaimed.

"Preposterous, you must be mistaken."-Zufmuut said, in clear-dismissal.

"I may not know HOW it works...but i do know WHAT IT IS!"-Elange said, getting defensive about his ability.

"Well, i hope your not still bored, Emroy, for things have seemed to become...dangerously interesting."-Duncan said with a grimace.

"Elange, would you please make another Gate for Emroy's half-dead Apostle and get her away from those beings who have her hopelessly out-matched?" Zufmuut asked, worried that Rory Mercury could somehow give them information that could come back to harm them in some way.

"Fine, but this is that last time i'm going to warp reality just to transport an Apostle! This isn't like riding a horse from point A to B!"-Elange said, getting irritated for being used like a transport service to an Apostle.

{Nishikienrai and Herohero}

Rory swung her weapon down at the woman that had thrown, actually thrown her into the air, as she came back down. Not even looking towards her, this 'Nabe' simply side-stepped, grabbed the haft of the ax and one of her leg's, did a one-eighty turn and sent Rory suddenly flying in another direction.

The sudden change in direction made Rory sick to her stomach.

'She's so fast and strong!'-Rory thought, her hands tightening around her weapon just before she impacted the wall that surrounded Italica.

Boom!

The bandits nearby backed away in fear as the Apostle of Emroy pulled herself out of the hole.

"That bitch!"-Rory said, casting a dismissive glance toward the bandits around her. With a contemptuous swing, she halved the nearest one, getting the ecstasy-like feeling of having his soul pass through her.

"That's better"-Rory said, calming somewhat before a blur appeared before her.

Through instinct and practice from fighting other Apostle's, Rory was barely able to bring the ax up in time to block the hit, but it still forced her back and into the hole she'd just come out of.

"You should stay in that hole where you belong, you filthy human"-Nabe said, saying 'human' filled with venom and malice.

"I am not a human! I am a demi-god! Apostle to the god Emroy! I am Rory Mercury and i will NOT BE MADE A FOOL OF!"-Rory screamed, launching herself out of the hole, making it even bigger.

Nabe was surprised enough at the girl's ferocity that she let her land a blow...sort of.

Rory's eyebrow was twitching with numerous veins popping out, and one likely exploded causing the red coloring of her left eye.

Nabe had caught the ax-blade between her hands, the force of the attack pushing her across the ground, ending.

"You are a fool if you think you can take me down with only this level of power."-Nabe said with contempt.

With her blade caught in Nabe's hands, Rory opted for kicking the vile woman away.

But Nabe simply stretched her arms out farther, the petite girl being too short to reach her now, getting a groan of irritation from her in response.

Doing a rather impressive series of acrobatic maneuvers, Rory moved along the length of the haft to get Nabe's hands away from her blessed weapon...but then Nabe just let go, causing Rory and her weapon to fall to the ground.

Not expecting that, Rory hit the ground with an 'oof' followed by 'ow' as her weapon's blade drew her own blood, making her embarrassed and even more angry.

Before she could do anything, Nabe spun around behind her, performing a 'low kick' to Rory's back, sending her flying and causing a gash to open on her right leg where it scrapped along the ax-blade.

The humans around her kept looking at her with their filthy eyes!

"Begone from here or i'll rip out your filthy eyes you insects!"-Nabe yelled, causing a good many of them to flee in terror.

Upon hearing a litany of curses, Nabe turned to regard a fast-approaching Rory Mercury, noting the complete lack of interest the girl had for the wound that was constantly pouring blood out as she ran towards her.

"Die you Bi-"-Rory began to say but Nabe didn't want to hear it.

Giving Rory a back-handed fist with her full might, mid-stride, she cursed herself for the slip as she wasn't supposed to use her full power or equipment.

Rory's world suddenly white with pain to her left side of her face, with a momentary sense of weightlessness before a new pain blossomed in her left leg and the feeling of something falling on her..."-tch"

'Why...why am i losing so soundly in a fight?'-Rory asked herself in a brief state of clarity.

"My dear Emroy, hear me, your Apostle Rory Mercury..."

Nabe started to wonder if that blow to the face had incapacitated or out-right killed the girl till she heard her scream.

Emroy had heard her, and unknown to all there, was watching along with the rest of the Pantheon.

In a burst of energy and renewed vigor, Rory launched herself from the now-collapsing building in a show of speed and strength, startling Nabe long enough that she was finally able to land a solid hit on the woman's face, causing her to flip side and backwards from the force of it.

Trying to keep the momentum going, she tried adding a kick to make it a combo-attack.

Nabe grabbed the offending leg, mid-flip, and pulled on it and getting a satisfying snap from it and a scream of pain by the owner.

A part of her wondered why her leg wasn't bleeding anymore, but it didn't really matter in the end, the outcome would always be the same.

Rory screamed as she felt her leg pop out of it's socket by her hips and her ankle break.

The sheer force of her kick would likely have broken her ankle anyways, however...

Nabe swung the leg to the side, letting go of it and righting herself to land on her feet, actually somewhat thankful for the 'counter-weight' else her clothing might have gotten dirty from the mud and other likely filth on the ground.

Rory went flying across the ground in a suddenly new direction before barrel-rolling across the ground until she landed against something with her back, finally stopping her roll.

A hand wrapped around her throat as her eyes opened, only to get hit by a fist.

"You dare touch Lord Nishikienrai-sama with your filth!"- an irate Nabe said, beginning her pummeling of the petite girl.

...

"Nabe! I think that's enough, it doesn't look like she'll last much longer!"-Nishiki told his daughter who was holding a weaponless Rory by the throat, about to deliver another series of punches to a very bruised and bleeding face.

"Very well"-Nabe said, dropping the petite girl on the ground like a sack of potatoes.

While the girl was strong, she had not been able to keep up with her in terms of speed. In the end, she was what she was...weak human filth.

Granted, human filth strong enough to survive a full-powered hit and not die, but still...

"Should i the-"-Nabe began when she saw her Lords' surprised reactions.

Turning around, she was just able to see a 'portal' of some kind cease it's existence, and the disappearance of the girl she'd just given a severe beating to.

"It would seem the girl, Rory Mercury, has escaped my Lords', please forgive me!"-Nabe said, bowing to them.

"That is quite alright, Nabe-chan."-Nishiki said walking up to her and patting her head.

"Nishiki-san...that looked like the same portal that connects our world with this one."-Herohero said, thinking deeply on the matter.

"Yes, yes it did..."-Nishiki said looking back to where it had been...and noticing the enemy troops that were still there fleeing for their lives after witnessing an Apostle get the crap beaten out of her.

Looking back to Herohero-"I guess i'll do cleanup duty for a little while, Nabe, stay with Herohero please."-Nishiki said, (Void-stepping) away.

(Message)

"Momonga-san, are you there?"-Herohero mentally said.

"Herohero-san! It's been a while! Oh! Tabula and i may have figured out a way to incorporate this world's magic into our Yggdrasil system!"-An ecstatic Momonga said.

Herohero could practically see the 'pile-o-bones' jumping up and down in joy.

"That's great Momonga-san, because, we could be stuck here at any time."-Herohero said seriously, grabbing the guild-masters attention.

"Huh? How so?"-Momonga said, no longer excited.

"Well, this is just a guess, but after what i just saw not long ago...i think the 'Gate' connecting our world to this one is simply there because a 'god' of this world desire's it to be so. If this 'god' no longer desires us to be here..."-Herohero let it hang in the 'air' for a moment.

"Hmmmm, that is a bit alarming...do you think we should return to Nazarick for the time being then?"-Momonga said, dreading a possibility that would mean that they couldn't return to their home.

"Momonga...my concern is that we may not even be able to make that choice. What if, what if we go through that 'Gate' and end up somewhere completely new because the entity that created it might get a laugh out of it? You see what i'm trying to say?"-Herohero was genuinely worried, more so now that he'd said it.

"...Herohero-san, what did you see a little while ago?"-Momonga said, growing concerned.

"Another 'Gate' opened up before me, and took a so called 'Apostle', and her weapon, away. Momonga, these 'Gate's', or 'Portals', whatever they are, are created and sustained at will. Not unlike our [Portal] spell." -Herohero said.

"Mmmm...this is troubling indeed. However, we did consider that possibility before coming here, did we not?"-Momonga said.

"Well, yes, but-"-Herohero began saying.

"Sorry, somethings come up, i'll talk to you again, when i can"

(end Message)

'but the eventuality of our being stuck in this world and our plan for countering that, wasn't even a finished plan because everyone was too excited about exploring a new world and getting vengeance for our citizens.'-Herohero finished the thought.

'Momonga, you and Nazarick are the glue that has kept us together for all these centuries...without Nazarick as our home...'-Herohero looked up at the sky as a fear gripped him that he did not know was there.

"My lord, are you okay?"-Nabe asked, growing concerned over Herohero's apparent silence for so long.

"I-I am fine Nabe...a little hungry perhaps, come let us find something edible."-Herohero said, starting to walk away.

Though he said and did this, Nabe couldn't help but notice how he would look back to where the 'portal' had appeared every now and then until the spot was out of sight, hidden by buildings. Nor could she shake the sense of worry from Herohero...she would have to tell her 'sisters' when they returned to the inn.

{Peroron and Takemika:}

The two Supreme Beings sitting upon their floating thrones were worried about two different and yet similar things.

For the Lord Peroroncino it was the lack of the petite Rory Mercury.

For the Lord Warrior Takemikazuchi it was the how of the petite girl's disappearance.

"My lords"-Shalltear said, appearing in front of them and bowing; -"We have discovered another village not far from our current location. What are your orders?"

"Really? What's the size?"-Takemika asked, finally having something else to think about.

"It seems to be smaller than that hovel known as Coda village, however-"-here Shalltear looked towards her creator before continuing in a quieter voice-"-however, it seems to be populated by some kind of Rabbit people."

"I see"-Takemika said, getting the sense that these people must likely be rather...attractive to Peroroncino if even Shalltear didn't want him to know about them.

"Peroron-san, i'm going to stretch my legs a bit and see if there's anything worth halting the legion for...alright? Peroroncino?"-Takemikazuchi asked his brooding friend.

"Huh, what? Ya, ya, fine, whatever."-Peroroncino said, still brooding over the disappearance of Rory Mercury.

Takemika looked at Shalltear, who in turn looked at him, both wondering if they should mention the Bunny-people to Peroroncino anyways to take his mind off the petite goth girl.

Takemikazuchi could almost see the battle in Shalltear's mind play out: He's upset and i have news that would make him happy...but doing so would mean that...

'Poor Shalltear'-thought Takemika.

'Peroroncino had gotten used to 'playing' with her over the centuries, turning it into a game of whether or not Bukubukuchagama would find out.

'Now that we're in a new world, Peroroncino is interested, mostly, in new and exotic...'playthings'-Takemika was thinking as he and Shalltear crested the rise of the hill.

Below the hill, a dense cluster of trees surrounded by tall grass as far as he could see gave the view an almost serene, picturesque look.

Grass moved and there was no wind...in an instant, Warrior Takemikazuchi was there, grabbing a large pair of bunny-ears and getting a feminine shout that quickly turned to a squeak.

"Hey Shalltear, i think i just caught some dinner!"-Takemika said, joking, and getting a small smile from Shalltear.

"No, no, no! Please! I taste horrible!"-the bunny-woman cried, trying to punch and kick her way free.

It had no effect on the Supreme Being, and realizing this, she became even more frantic to get away.

"Peroroncino like them feisty too"-Takemika muttered, causing a frown for Shalltear.

"Would you stop that? I was joking, jeez."-Takemika said to the frantic, humanoid-bunny-woman.

With tears in her eyes and a trembling lip, she settled down.

'Wow, without her moving about so much, i can actually see why Shalltear didn't want Peroro-san to know...she's amazingly gorgeous! Damn!'-Takemikazuchi thought as he checked her out.

"You make your clothes out of woven grass?"-Takemikazuchi said aloud to cover up his noticeable act of 'checking her out'.

"Ye-yes"

"Interesting...how do you make them last? Or clean them for that matter? Would they not simply fall apart when wet?"-Takemika said in genuine interest.

At that moment, a hail of arrows streaked at him from the grass.

"My lord!"-Shalltear shouted, rushing in front of him to use her body as a shield.

'The sentiment was nice'-Takemika thought as the arrows simply bounced off her skin.

Upon seeing this however, the bunny-woman began freaking out with new vigor.

Warrior Takemikazuchi sighed.

{Punitto and Chagama}

"Punitto Moe-sama? Do you have a minute?"-Lakyus hesitantly said from the other side of the door.

[Create greater tree house] had been such a useful spell since they'd began there journey in this world.

"Y-yes, come on in Lakyus"-Punitto Moe stuttered, mentally bashing himself for it.

Walking in, Lakyus was still amazed at how Punitto Moe-sama seemed to meld with his surroundings...

'She-she's half naked!'-Punitto exclaimed in his head as she walked in, wearing a night-gown that was sheer enough to make out what was underneath...and the lack of any other kind of garment.

"~Moe-sama~"-Lakyus said as sensually as she could, delicately grabbing one of Punitto's many vines that made up his body.

Trying his best not to shriek 'Hai!', Punitto responded -"Yes, what is it Lakyus?"

"I...I...I think i love you, Punitto Moe-sama!"-Lakyus said with apparent difficulty.

If there were bells, gongs, and alarms in his head they'd all be sounding-off at that very moment.

'Um, um, um, um, what do i do?!'-Punitto started freaking out in his mind.

"Punitto Moe-sama?"-Lakyus asked looking up towards his 'face' with concern that she'd said something she shouldn't have.

Unknown to her, Punitto Moe was mentally comatose at the moment.

-Elsewhere in the tree-house-

"Mare! Look! I have another new uniform for you!"-Bukubukuchagama said excitedly to a not so excited Mare. Though Mare was happy his creator liked him enough to make clothes for him...he didn't like being dressed-up like this every night.

Aura walks in seeing the expression on her brother's face, then to her creator...

"Umm, m-mom, i think Mare is a little tired tonight..."-Aura said to politely defend her brother from being a 'dress-up doll' again tonight.

"~Agh...my little Mare is tired~ Well, time for bed then!" -Chagama said.

"Yes, Bukubukuchagama-sama..."-Mare said, slowly walking away.

"It's mom now, remember?! And it's bed-time for both of you!"-Chagama said suddenly raising her voice.

"But i'm not tired!"-Aura said in her defense.

"Nonsense, off to bed! Both of you!"-Chagama said, not arguing with her 'kids'.

'With them in bed, i can talk to Punitto-san without being a 'Supreme Being'...or a mom'-Chagama thought as she watched them get ready for bed.

'Hmmm, i wonder what Lakyus is doing tonight?'-she added as an after-thought, as Mare and Aura climbed into their beds...

"Punitto Moe-sama?"-Lakyus asked again, her concern growing.

"I'm sorry, i seemed to have spaced out there for a moment, did you need something?"-Punitto asked.

"Mmm-mmm, no, ~just you~"-Lakyus whispered, gathering her courage before rising up and kissing him.

Punitto went into a state of shock-'she's actually kissing me!'

When she stopped kissing his 'face', Punitto realized that she had straddled him at some point...and she was rubbing her hands up and down on his body, her face was red from blushing.

"~Punitto-sama~"-Lakyus said as she buried her face in his chest.

"Yes, Lakyus?"

"I-"-Lakyus began as Chagama came into the room...

"Punitto-san, i was-"-Chagama began to say as she began to take in the scene unfolding before her...

"Wha-? WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING!?"-Chagama yelled, starting to 'flip out'.

"Bukubukuchagama-sama, please, i'm admitting my love to Punitto Moe-sama"-Lakyus said, her face still in hidden in Punitto's vines.

Whatever Chagama said after that was unintelligible to either Lakyus or Punitto for some time...

A/N:

I kinda rushed this chapter out because i'm going to have very little time to write during the week and ended up deciding to just post this instead of waiting a few days, i hope you enjoyed it!

In regards to the time-skip issue i mentioned in the previous chapter...can we just pretend that everything is happening relatively close in relation to the different groups' timelines?

-Some of the pacing is wonky because it was written on different days...

-I feel the 'battles' are kinda short but didn't know what to do about it.

-I think Rory vs Nabe was fitting, considering how much more powerful the Overlord characters are in comparison to Gate's...especially if they've had 800 frackin years to improve their already overpowered stats!

-Did i do ok with the Chagama-part? If so, i'd like to continue the 'mommy' persona towards the twins because i actually find it funny.

Also, would someone please kick Chagama for being a 'cockblock'?

-As always, feel free to PM or leave a review with suggestions to better the story!

"This is OverWarlord with another chapter in a story about over-powered beings, signing off!"
