Hullo! Been a while huh (like 3 years). Wow, I bet some of you are cursing me for not updating faster and I am going to be honest here: I do not have a good excuse for not updating. I got bored, I got stuck, and I forgot about this story and never got back to it until now. Even now I don't know how much I will be continuing this story (random updates is what you will probably get). I still have not finished revising the other chapters but for some reason I suddenly got inspiration for this chapter so yeah.
I will be going to college in August (we grow up so fast * sob *) and I really don't know what else to say… awkward moment.
I do not own anything (well besides Ellie) – it belongs to their respective owners. (By the way, can anyone see the phrase that I paraphrased from Queen Victoria?!)
He still had his beautiful orange/red curls, shining even though there was not an ounce of sunlight. The shadows under his eyes were illuminated by the pale, chalkiness of his skin. It was easy to tell that the Mad Hatter had not been sleeping well, if at all. He sat at the head of 3 tables lined up and pushed together, with teacups, plates, and cakes everywhere.
A brown rabbit, which my mind faintly spoke the words March Hare to me, was sitting on one side of the table with a white, female dormouse on the other. Mallymkun was quietly getting out of a white and blue teapot; her prized eye of the Bandersnatch was in a bag around her waist along with her needle-sword.
The now non-existent ruckus that was going on before suddenly jolted me out of my thoughts as the three stared at us. I looked away, trying not to burst out laughing because of the expressions on their faces. I could tell my laughter wouldn't have been appreciated anyway from the look Alice was shooting my way. I sighed, Alice had a talent, a sixth-eye, as you will, for knowing when I was going to "stick my foot in my mouth or do something worse".
"It's you." I glance back over to see the Mad Hatter get up on the table and instantly cause trouble for the other two who were protecting their tea from spilling and their cake from getting stepped on.
"No, it's not. McTwisp brought us the wrong sisters!"
"It's the wrong ones?!" Apparently we have been expected by everyone and have disappointed them all immensely if they are still going on about this.
The Hatter is fully smiling now – his teeth shinning bright and very white and I was so stuck in my thoughts about how he got them so white that I missed what he had said and was now being dragged across the table to sit on a bunch of books next to Alice, who did not look amused.
"Time can be funny in dreams" Oh not this again. I open my mouth to say something about Alice's memory or lack thereof, when the Hatter speaks of Frabjous day. Remembering the scroll, I go to ask him about it, but am quickly interrupted by the letter m. Humph.
"Have you any idea why a raven is like a writing desk?" He whispers, then shouts something that I am not able to catch.
"Sorry down with what?"
"Down with the bloody big head, the bloody big head being the Red Queen." Chessur states. I had almost forgotten about him and resolved to not forget any more people lest they be offended.
"It's tick...TICKING!" I glanced from Chess to the watch as it dripped tea onto the table, the Hatter and Chessur still in a discussion that was getting quite heated. Hatter stood up and started shouting at Chessur, the circles under his eyes getting darker and his eyes changing while Chessur looked on like an innocent kitten in trouble.
"HATTER" Mallymkun said while tapping a spoon in her hands, like she would hit him with it. Despite her size she looked every inch (literally) like a mother hen.
I continued staring on until Chessur got my eye and gave me a kind smile. I smiled back and decided that he reminded me of an old friend, someone trustworthy, but mischievous at the same time, like Dad when he played pirates with me. Unfortunately, the good couldn't last forever and the March Hare's eyes bulged out and he gasped. We all turned and looked upon some red cards that were dressed like knights in the distance. Hatter quickly pulled out a small vial and forced Alice to drink it. He then stuffed her into a teapot and quickly motioned for me to drink some of the liquid too. It had a putrid smell to it and an even worse taste. He then put me into the teapot as well. I motioned for Alice to be quite as we heard a new person talking. His voice was deep and cruel sounding. I quickly rushed over to the spout of the pot and looked up into a pale face. His one eye was covered with a black heart and had many scars. He had an arm around the Hatter's neck and was currently threatening to have their heads. He looked away from the Hatter, his gaze meeting mine.
I am so mean for ending it there… (Chess looks at me with big, round eyes) I just can't do it, here is a little bit more thanks to Chessur.
I quickly ducted out of sight but he had seen me. I heard him converse with some more threats and then heard him smash a teacup on the ground.
"Follow the bloodhound." His voice chilling as he walked away. My mind was racing. He had seen me, why didn't he say something or take me away. It is obvious that he was looking for us so why? I feel some of my dress being taken away and I wait with Alice, who has a blush on her face… oh Alice, sweet, innocent Alice. Two dresses drop from nimble fingers and we change into them. Knocking on the top of the teapot, Hatter pulls us out and sets us down along with the teapot. He grimaces at his work, not realizing that it is amazing, even though it isn't a great style dress on us.
"Best take her to the White Queen, they'll be safe there... Spoon." The March Hare gives a hysterical laugh as the Hatter puts his hat in front of us.
"Your carriage my ladies." I quickly got on, adrenaline pumping through me. Alice takes some convincing and we leave quickly. I glance back and smile at Mallymkun, hoping she isn't too sad that she doesn't get to come with us.
And that is all she wrote. Hope you enjoyed it. I have a very hard time with tenses so I apologize if I switched tense at any point in time (I swear I don't mean it). I don't know when I will update next. If anyone is reading this, thank you for everything (including being patient, waiting, not insulting me or my writing, for reviewing, and much more!)
