~A Meeting~

Sabo stared at the town deep in thought, as Ann readied the boat for docking. As they reached the dock Ann jumped out and tied the ship to the post as Sabo had shown her during their trip. Ann looked around as Sabo climbed onto the dock, looking around as well. She glanced back at the blonde, noting the serious expression he had on his face since they first caught sight of the island.

"Why did we come here?"

Sabo looked at Ann. "Years ago, a man and his crew saved my life from an attack on a ship I was traveling on."

"Was the man from here?"

Sabo shook his head. "No. He stopped here to get supplies. These people helped him and they helped save my life by providing the needed medicine."

"I see. So we're stopping here why?"

"I wish to speak with the head of the dojo here." Sabo frowned. "I have something I wish to ask of him."

Ann looked at him in confusion and interest. "What is that?"

"Something to help us in our journey."

Ann blinked even more confused. "What?"

Sabo shook his head before smiling at her in reassurance. "Watch the boat. I'll return soon."

He began walking away soon after, not waiting for a reply from the girl. He headed through the dirt roads of the town, his eyes on the dojo at the top of the hill. As he began to draw closer to the gate, he paused, looking at the surroundings of the dojo. Near the cliff he saw a young boy lifting a rock quite easily. Sabo watched the boy in interest. He remembered seeing a kid doing that when he was a child.

Sabo turned from the boy, heading for the door of the dojo. He opened the door and moved up the stone path to the entrance of the dojo. As he stepped up to the entrance the door slid open, revealing a silver haired youth standing there. The man stared at him before bowing his head in greeting. Sabo returned the gesture.

"What is it we can do for you?" the boy asked.

"I am here to see Master Koshiro."

The man raised an eyebrow. "Is the master expecting you?"

"No he is not."

"Is there a name I can give him?" the man asked.

"My name is Sabo. The master will most likely not know it, though."

The man stared the blonde down. "Then what shall I tell him?"

"Tell him that seven years ago I arrived here on a boat fashioned like a dragon."

The man seemed slightly confused but nodded. "Wait here."

Sabo watched him leave and waited patiently for the man to return. He could only hope that the man remembered at least Dragon's presence on the island. Sabo stared around the building, finding it quiet beautiful to look at. It wasn't long till footsteps were heard coming back towards the entrance. Sabo turned to greet the silver-haired man once again.

"The master will see you now."

Sabo nodded as the man turned to lead him. "Thank you."

The man paused before looking at Sabo again. "Out of respect, remove your shoes and hat."

Sabo paused but eventually set his hat on the stand nearby, untying his boots and stepping onto the wood floor carefully. The man nodded in approval before leading him through the halls of the dojo. He was eventually led into a room and sitting at the table inside was an man, he looked up with a kind and knowing smile as Sabo entered.

"It has been a while."

Sabo blinked. "Do you remember me?"

"Only vaguely, I'm afraid," Koshiro replied.

Sabo knelt in front of the man as the silver-haired student moved forward. "Is there anything else you will be needing?"

Koshiro shook his head. "That is all Saga, go join Zoro in his training if you'd like."

The student bowed his head, smiling at the suggestion. "I think I will go and do that."

Sabo waited till the footsteps faded down the hall, before looking the master in the eye. The master smiled before he set his hands on the table, prepared to listen to Sabo. The blonde took a deep breath as he steeled his nerves.

"Seven years ago you helped a group of revolutionaries."

Koshiro nodded. "I did."

"Why?"

"Why not? They have not harmed me or my family or even this village. They were simply people in need passing through." Koshiro watched Sabo.

Sabo nodded. "What do you think of the revolution?"

"I think their leader is a fine man with good intentions."

Sabo watched the master carefully. "I believe so as well."

"Why is it you have come to me?"

Sabo sighed. "I received an invitation of sorts to join the revolutionary army. I was hoping you could ease my worries."

"I can do no such thing. That is something you need to decide for yourself."

"But you aided them, surely you know something about them." Sabo stared at the man.

"I know only what I saw from them. I saw people who went out of their way to save countless lives from certain death when it benefited them little." Koshiro watched Sabo. "Tell me, what did you see in them?"

Sabo stared at the man before looking down. "I saw a way to change things for the better. I was given the chance to better myself and make use of the life I built."

Koshiro nodded. "Then you have your answer."

"I don't feel like I do," Sabo admitted.

Koshiro nodded. "Maybe not now. In the future all will be clear."

Sabo nodded in slight understanding before bowing his head to the master. He stood before heading for the door and closing it behind him as he left. He headed down the hallways for the exit, sitting on the wood floor as he pulled his boots on. He reached for his hat once he had them on and paused as he grabbed it, looking it over. He furrowed his brows as he stared at the top hat, noticing that his goggles seemed to be missing.

"That's strange. I swore I had them on when I left the boat," he mumbled as he moved out of the dojo and to the exit.

As he exited the area, he turned to see the silver-haired man from earlier and the boy talking. Sabo walked over to them, and waited for Saga to notice his appearance. The man turned to him, an eyebrow raising in interest as he waited for Sabo to speak.

"I wanted to let you know my business is over."

Saga nodded. "I thank you for that."

Sabo nodded and turned to leave before pausing. "Did anyone else enter the mansion?"

Saga blinked as he glanced at the green-haired boy next to him. "Don't think so."

"I haven't seen anyone," the green-haired boy replied.

Saga looked at Sabo. "Is something wrong?"

Sabo shook his head. "No, just my imagination. Sorry for bothering you."

Sabo moved back down the dirt roads winding through the town and towards the dock. He was happy to see Ann waiting patiently by the boat, Balloon sitting in front of her quite protectively. He walked up to her, head still swarming with thoughts, but a smile on his face.

Ann looked up. "All finished?"

"Yeah. Did you want to pick up supplies?"

Ann nodded. "Yeah. I'll go do that now."

"You don't want me to go?"

Ann shook her head. "I got this. Besides, you just got back so you should rest."

Sabo chuckled. "Thanks then."

He got into the boat, and turned to watch Ann and Balloon begin heading into town. Sabo shook his head before heading below deck to the small room below. He went straight to his stuff and began searching through them, rather confused about where his goggles could be. The goggles weren't special or anything, he had just had them for a long time.

As he searched his belongings, he paused as he took stock of his personal effects. He noted that the emblem from his original family was gone, not that he truly cared. It was good when he needed to use the status of a noble for something. Still the fact that two things were missing from his personal effects worried him. He was glad to see his journal and the transponder snail were still there.

Ann returned an hour or so later and was confused at the look on Sabo's face. She stored the stuff before turning to Sabo with a questioning look. Sabo sighed.

"Did anyone come to the boat today?"

Ann thought about it. "Not that I remember. Why?"

"A few of my belongings seem to be missing."

Ann frowned. "Maybe they're just hiding somewhere?"

"Right."

Sabo moved to untie the boat and push them off the dock and back out into the open sea. Ann took the wheel and began steering the boat over the waves. Sabo glanced back at the town before turning his gaze on getting the boat moving.

~End ch. 7~

So this chapter coincides with Ace's chapter, I had fun with that. I really wanted Sabo to stop and talk with Zoro's master about Dragon so hence this chapter!

I want to thank my beta, Lady Spritzy, who has also put a new story up for Valentine's day involving Tashigi and Zoro called, Cross My Heart.
