"To tell you the truth, Kise-kun... I wasn't like this all the time..."
Ryouta gulped, feeling the tension rise. Or maybe it was his imagination playing tricks?
Tetsuya clenched his hands. He started to sweat a little.
"I don't even... know … where to begin..."
Ryouta clenched his hands too.
"How about… from the very beginning?"
Tetsuya took a deep breath.
His mother always disappeared at night. When he was small, he didn't understand why, for what purpose his mother left him all alone in an empty room, night after night. When he asked her why, she only ever smiled sadly. A little twitch of the corners of her lips, the small dimples on her pale cheeks. She would always put him on her lap and brush his hair, telling that he would know in the near future. When was the future? Tomorrow? The day after tomorrow? Oh, how he wanted to know right then.
He was worried whenever she went home tired, empty, and lifeless, with red cheeks, her eyesight blurry with exhaustion. Tetsuya knew she always went to bathroom, washed her body and then laid down on the futon, snuggled in next to him and fell asleep quietly sobbing.
Why did his mother cry? He didn't know. And it was terrible, like live in a nightmare.
He just couldn't...
"...take it anymore," the bluenette took a deep breath "You know that feeling, when you see your most beloved person cry?" Ryouta nodded at him.
Yes, he knew. He was feeling like that right now. So he only nodded.
"So... one day... a year after or maybe two... I just walked after her..."
Music was surrounding him like water. He couldn't breathe, everything was multiplied. His ears rang, and his eyes couldn't see properly. Too many colors, too many people; the smell of alcohol, of sweating bodies, perfumes, aphrodisiacs. He felt dizzy, and his legs moved by reflex.
Where was he? He had lost her, he had lost his mother.
Someone caught his arm harshly and asked him something. He didn't understand a word. He felt scared, he wanted to go home and bury himself in his warm blankets. When the grip on his arm tightened, he broke free and ran.
Where he ran, he didn't know. Just somewhere, somewhere...
It was darker, quieter.
He finally stopped and put his hand on wall to catch his breath and calm his heart.
He was in some kind of hall. Dark with many, many doors.
The bluenette looked around. Where was he? Where? He got lost... Oh no...
Just don't panic, don't panic.
He slumped down onto the floor and put his legs close to his chest and hid his face.
Whatever happens, don't cry. Crying won't help. He must pull himself together.
His ears heard a voice. Maybe more like a moan than a whisper.
He heard it because it was so quiet. Not the words, but the voice.
And he knew.
It was his mother.
Tetsuya stood up and walked slowly to the source of the voice, towards slightly opened doors.
He glanced inside and gasped at what he saw.
"I got scared..." Tetsuya mumbled "I was a kid; I didn't know what she was doing..." Another deep breath. "I didn't know what sex was..."
Ryouta bit his lip. But he said nothing. He only waited for Tetsuya to continue.
"And then..."
Someone grabbed him harshly by the arm and pulled him back. He hit something, maybe someone or just a wall, but the impact was so hard that dark dots appeared in front of his eyes.
This someone dragged him or maybe pulled. Tetsuya wasn't sure. Only that the person put him on the floor. And then there were only voices. It was dark inside this room, there was only a faint light. He wasn't sure where it came from.
How long he sat there alone, with no one even checking on him, he didn't know.
He felt scared, in unknown place.
He hugged his legs in self-defense in buried his face in them once again.
What he should do from now on...
"Tetsuya..."
His heart skipped a beat at the sudden, familiar voice.
It was his mother, wearing only a dressing-gown. She had tears in her eyes. Her long blue curly hair was in a total mess, cascading down to her arms, back and covering her face.
She hugged him tightly. Tetsuya could almost feel as her rapid heartbeat, as she shivered under the thin fabric.
"What are you doing here?" she asked frantically, taking his face in her very pale palms. "You shouldn't be here..."
"I want to know too..."
Tetsuya heard this voice for the first time. It certainly belonged to a man.
There was a shadow in the corner. How long had he been there? A minute, an hour? Howe long had Tetsuya been here anyway?
"He did nothing wrong! He just was worried about me! I never told him about this place!"
His mother was shouting, her hands clenching tighter on him with every word. Who was this person that she was so afraid of?
"Is she right?"
The voice was very low, strongly protracted at the ends of the words, like in a hiss.
"Yes..." Tetsuya was surprised by his calm voice. He felt his hand become colder… he was nervous, but it wasn't affecting his mind. He didn't know how he could talk, when he literally felt his leg shaking . "I followed her on my own... my mother had nothing to do with it..."
The man snorted with amusement. He took one step closer and his deep green eyes shone in the darkness.
"Ah, mother? Ah yes, you've never showed me your son, Michiru..."
The woman trembled under his gaze and it made Tetsuya angry. Who was this man to make his mother look like that?
"Ah..." His mother hesitated. "This is my son, Kuroko Tetsuya..."
The man walked few more steps and Tetsuya could finally get a good look at him.
Ha was tall, almost unnaturally tall for a Japanese man. But he had the typical Japanese face with a small but long nose, thin pale lips and dangerous green eyes. He wore a black suit.
"Tetsuya, this is my boss... Master..." The last word was almost said with hostility and fear.
The man smirked and held out his hand.
"Nice to meet you, Tetsuya..."
Tetsuya didn't like how he said his name. Like some kind of cat, purring it evilly. Only after few seconds did Tetsuya lift his hand and shake the man's hand.
It was cold.
The man then straightened his body and turned to face his mother.
"You can go back home now. I'll send the bill to you later." She nodded, biting her lips. "And don't let this happen again..."
She took Tetsuya's hand, bowed, and headed to the door.
"And tell Emerald that she should explain everything to her own child."
His mother nodded again. They were finally free. But she loosened her grip on his hand only after they got to their home. She turned...
"She was really mad at me... And I can't blame her for that..." he coughed suddenly. Ryouta helped him to sit down, patting him on the back.
"When we got back home she yelled for me for a very long time... Then she hugged me tightly and explained all of this... What she was doing, why..." Tetsuya closed his eyes. "But I only understood it much, much later..."
For a long time, there was silence. It looked like Tetsuya was collecting his thoughts or maybe fighting with them or even both.
"I was the first kid in our 'association'." He emphasised the last word. "When my mother got pregnant with me she was exempted for a few months, so she had some free time. But after giving birth, work must to be doubled to cover the cost of this small holiday. But she didn't mind. Her friends said that she looked even happier than before. After her some women had children too... And our small family got bigger..."
"And one day..."
"Tetsuya!"
He got up from the futon he had been sitting on and walked out of their makeshift bedroom.
In the hall stood his mother, smiling. But she wasn't alone. Behind her hid a small girl, younger than him.
"Say hello to your new sister..."
He was surprised. Very. He bowed hesitantly.
The small girl peeked at him from behind the woman, parted her red lips and whispered something. Probably greetings.
"I need to go work early, so I'll leave her with you..."
Tetsuya nodded.
The girl stood still in the same position in the same place, staring at the floor.
The woman kissed Tetsuya on his forehead, and did the same to girl. Then she left the house.
The two children stood there not knowing what to do.
The girl had long blonde hair, a little dirty. Her dress was ripped in a few places.
Oh he knew his mother too well and she know what he would do.
"Come, we need to get you clean!" he said, taking the girl's small, thin hand and directing her to the bathroom.
She walked after him, still not looking up.
He poured some hot water in the bathtub, mixed with some of the cold water, and showed her where the gel, shampoo, and soap were. She nodded slowly.
The bluenette walked to his room and found some pants and a shirt that was too small for him. He nodded to himself and returned to the bathroom. He knocked on the door.
The answer was barely audible so he slowly pushed open the door.
The blonde girl was in bathtub, the water almost reaching to her chin. Her legs were bent and close to her chest.
"I brought you some clothes to change into..."
She nodded after a while, finally noticing him. She didn't looked embarrassed at his presence.
Tetsuya put the clothes down. The girl took the sponge and tried to wash her back with it. But she couldn't stretch her arms around to reach some parts.
Tetsuya walked to her and smiled.
"I'll help you..." He said as slowly and as nicely as he could.
She stared at him, her eyes changed a little, small spark appeared in them. Tetsuya only didn't know if it was a good or a bad sign.
She passed him a sponge and turned so he could only see her back.
Slowly Tetsuya put some soap on it and started rubbing her back kindly, calm and steady. But it looked weird. Her back had long red lines on it, and the skin was broken in some places. It looked like it itched.
He really tried to do it delicately, so he wouldn't irritate her skin.
After cleaning it looked better, but he still had to find some ointment to put on it.
"Done!"
She didn't move so Tetsuya stood up and walked out.
He went to the kitchen, took a chair and climbed on it to reach the shelf. He started to rummage through old containers, packets of aspirin, and other medicine. At the end of the shelf he found small jar with a yellow substance in it and he nodded to himself.
Tetsuya returned to their small bedroom and laid on the futon and read a book until girl finished her shower.
She returned few minutes later with a towel wrapped around her wet hair. She looked around, clearly not knowing what to do.
Tetsuya patted the place next to him.
"Lie down and show me your back..."
She opened her eyes wide.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt you..." Tetsuya smiled.
She felt probably more confident because she did as he asked.
Tetsuya took some of the yellow substance and started to massage it onto her back. She yelped in surprise.
"What is that...?" Those were the first words that slipped past her lips.
She had a nice voice, maybe a little higher than normal.
"Medicine for your back. It must itch. It's probably some kind of allergy, but don't worry! With this it'll heal in no time..."
The muscles on her back relaxed. He could felt them under skin.
That reminded him...
"Hey, what's your name? My name is Tetsuya, but you already know that..."
There was silence for a long time. Tetsuya thought that maybe the girl had simply ignored his question, but then she whispered...
"Ruriko..."
"That a cute name. Ruri!" He screwed the jar shut and pulled down her shirt.
Ruriko got up from the sofa and sat on the futon. She turned to him and slowly, shaking a little, held out her hand.
"Nice to meet you..."
Tetsuya shook hands with her.
The first step to gaining trust.
"Nice to meet you, little sister..."
A small, barely visible smile played on her lips.
"This is how I met my little sister..." he ended with a loud sigh.
How much time had passed from the beginning? Ryouta didn't count. The moon was behind some dark clouds, making this room only slightly darker than before.
Ryouta moved a little.
Tetsuya loosen his grip on his hand, but the blonde didn't allow him. He felt as if he lost contact everything would end right here.
Tetsuya looked at him with thanks painted in his dazed orbs.
His hand was cold, but he was sweating a lot. Why? Ryouta could only pray that it wasn't something very serious.
"I need to say, that many prostitutes out there in the world live and work in conditions that are much worse than us... We have separate buildings where we live, and a decent wage. Mother always dreamt about a new life, away from here. She always told us, that when we grew up, we needed to get away from here..."
But they didn't. They were still here.
"The money from working like this is enough for one person, maybe even enoughfor one person with a child to live on. But Mother had me and Ruri... It wasn't so bad; we managed somehow... But then she got pregnant for the second time... She didn't tell us, but somehow we knew about that... Keeping three kids was impossible here... Some days she cried into her pillow thinking that we wouldn't hear her...One day she didn't come back..."
Ruri laid down on futon, trembling slightly. From cold, from fear, she didn't know...
Tetsuya hugged her to show that he was still with her.
Where was mother? She had never left them alone for longer than one night and now... she had been absent for almost a full day...
He was scared. Scared about what might have happened to her. What if she never came back ever again? No, don't think like that... She'll definitely return... She must...
The day passed with them both staying in their futon. What they were suppose to do...?
At night they could only fall asleep for short moments.
The clock mercilessly counted time. A minute, an hour, two hours.
They weren't sleeping when someone finally opened the doors.
They jumped to their feet and ran to the kitchen.
She was there, with a giant paper bag filled with food. She lit a small lamp in the kitchen.
"Mother..." they both shouted in unison and ran to her.
She turned, kneeled, and hugged their small bodies.
The smell of her perfume, the gently touch of her long, silky, curly hair on their noses. It was all so familiar.
"I'm so sorry..." she whispered, hugging them tightly, like she was scared they would all disappear.
"Go to the bedroom, I'll tell you everything..."
"Apparently... yes indeed she was pregnant... She knew we didn't have the money, so she took the day off to go to the 'doctor'." Here he glanced knowingly. Ryouta understood. "She wanted an abortion, but first 'he' needed to take a photo of it. Surprisingly they were... twins..."
"When I saw the screen... And saw the both of them... I just couldn't do it..." she hid her face in both of her small, pale hands. Her arm shook as quiet sobs escaped her lips. "I know, we don't have the money, but I just couldn't..."
They didn't understand what she was talking about. Only that she had done nothing wrong.
Tetsuya looked at Ruri. She nodded, knowing what he meant.
Tetsuya stood up and walked to the wardrobe, reaching behind it to take out small metal jar.
Mother lifted her red, puffy eyes as he showed her the container.
"It's money we saved. We know it's not much, but we want to help..."
Her eyes widened.
She took the jar and put it away. The blue-haired woman once again took them inside her arms, patting both on the head. Something warm and wet fell on his forehead, but he didn't mind.
"I love you both so much..."
"She never talked about this topic ever again..."
A small drop of sweat fell on his gray pillow. Ryouta leaned over and brushed Tetsuya's forehead. He was burning. He had to do something before the fever turned serious.
"Kurokocchi..." he whispered softly.
He shook his head.
"I'm fine..." Tetsuya mumbled, but both knew it was lie. "I'm fine..."
He closed his eyes, like he had drifted off to sleep. But to Ryouta it seemed like...
Suddenly he started to speak again.
"She got a second vacation... And the time before childbirth was the best time in my life... We spent with more time together as she worked a little in the shop and earned money for the future... Yuzue helped with manual labor... My small sister-Miri and her brother- Maru were adorable... We had a small party for all children and workers in our house two days later..." Tetsuya smiled a little, but stopped almost immediately. "My mother started working even harder than before. When she got back home she looked after the twins, but the rest of the time Ruri or I did it... That why we were so close... In that time she often came back with bruises on her body and red eyes. She lost weight, didn't want to eat much, because we simply didn't have money for that... Our family helped us, but they couldn't do much. I went to Teikou and found a small job in shop she used to work at when she was pregnant with Maru and Miri... I thought that this way we could live until I turned eighteen and could find a proper job. I wanted to rescue them from this place. But it wasn't our destiny..."
"She's not breathing!"
For the first time in his life Tetsuya heard Ruri shouting in fear. He ran to where Miri laid on the floor. He checked her pulse with shaking hands and then put his face near her mouth. No, it wasn't true... It couldn't...
Tetsuya picked the small body up and ran out of the house. Ruriko took Maru who was crying loudly and ran after him.
Miri's face was pale. She suddenly opened her giant blue eyes and tried to take a breath. But she couldn't.
Tetsuya wanted to cry, but he couldn't. Every second was important; every minute could save her life. He needed to run faster. Faster, faster, FASTER!
His lungs ached; it hurt like someone had stuck needles in them. No, he can't run any faster.
"Nii-sa..n..."
Tetsuya glanced down at the small figure in his arms.
No he couldn't he had to save her. Faster, faster, faster. He almost couldn't see the road, black dots almost devoured his vision, his ears rang. Only few meters, just a few more few steps. His legs stumbled, but he had to run.
Tetsuya didn't remember how he got inside, but suddenly pure white surrounded them. Someone ran over to them. She was wearing something blue. The woman asked them what had happened. Tetsuya didn't remember if he said anything at all, he only showed them the girl in his arms.
They took her gently and put her on a giant bed, too big for her. Someone shouted for someone, someone ran, someone brought insulin, someone ran to the opened doors of the operation room.
He slumped down on the chairs for visitors and closed his eyes. He didn't know if he had slept or just passed out, but the first thing he saw was Ruri leaning above him with worried eyes.
"What happened..." Tetsuya murmured and sat properly.
"I don't know. The doctor told me that she's still having an operation..."
He looked around. Next to him sat Maru, curled up and asleep.
"What about mother...?"
"I phoned her at work... She should be here..."
Someone burst through the door so hard that it hit the wall with loud 'bang'.
"Any second now..." Ruri turned to the figure quickly walking to them.
She only had her jacket on over her small red dress. Her legs were shaking in the coldness outside the hospital.
"W-where is she?" she asked with trembling purple lips. With a pale hand she brushed away blue wisps of hair that had fallen into her eyes.
"She's still having an operation..."
She sat down heavily on the chair next to Maru, who put his head on her lap. She softly stroked his hair.
They didn't talk. It was pretty late, probably in the middle of the night.
The doors of the operating theatre opened and they all lift their heads in unison as an old man with a tuft of grey hair walked over with some kind of papers in his hands. He looked at them.
"Are you the family members of this girl..."
"Miri, yes!" Tetsuya's mother said very quickly, rising from her seat.
The doctor looked disgusted by her, but she didn't mind now. No one did.
"Please come after me..."
They all walked behind the man along some white corridor. There was no one around at this hour.
He invited them into his office where only his desk could be seen. He walked behind it and sat, still searching through the papers.
"Excuse me sir..." their mother started. The doctor lifted his head at them. He intertwined his fingers together.
"You daughter..." he started.
"Kuroko Miri..." She nodded hesitantly, her legs trembled waiting as she for the words to come out.
The doctor's eyebrows moved closer together and wrinkles appeared on his forehead.
"We ran some test as she was still unconscious. It looks like Miri-san has..."
"Cystic fibrosis..."
Ryouta stroked the small pale palm in his hand with his other hand slowly. It twitched suddenly, his muscles tensed for an instant, but as quickly as it had tensed it relaxed.
Tetsuya turned his head away from Ryouta. His eyelids were fluttering quickly.
"It was still in the early stages… The doctor said that if we bought the necessary medicines and signed up for some health treatments at the hospital it wouldn't disturb her future life... But it's almost impossible when someone leads a life like us... My mother started working harder and more than ever... but still it wasn't enough to pay for all of it... The debt rose, we had nothing to eat sometimes..."
Tetsuya laid on his bed looking like the kid that he wasn't anymore. Because of his life he would never get a normal childhood, nor friends. He lived in a world where a child could simply die if they not grow up quickly enough. And so that was exactly what he had done.
"I suppose you don't know what is a death ticket?"
Ryouta shook his head automatically, only then did he realize that Tetsuya wasn't looking at him, so he spoke.
"No..."
"If you compare our filia with others where women are forced to sell their bodies to unknown buyers, tonnes of them in one day or night, our place seems almost nice..." The last word chafed, like it shouldn't be there. "We get money, a place to live, reasonably safe customers... we aren't the lowest level of this pyramid... An average man isn't able to buy us..." His lips suddenly trembled and the bluenette bit it hard "What I want to say is... When a woman from our filia gets a death ticket, she gets a lot of money … for what purposes, Master never asked. But in exchange she is degraded and moved to that kind of place..." His voice broke at the end. "Thirty or more customers in one day, almost no sleep. She is pushed to her limits. No friends, no future, no hope, no contact with families. Many of them start using drugs, but it's just another step to death. Addicted, emaciated, sometimes with destroyed internal organs … they... simply... die..."
Now it was all audible. Sobs, tears, gasps...
"Maybe if I worked harder… If I do something more Miri might..."
Ryouta quickly climbed onto the bed and pulled Tetsuya into his arms. Tetsuya didn't oppose. He was too tired or maybe he was trained to do that? No... it wasn't true. Ryouta knew it subconsciously.
"She..." Tetsuya gasped.
She did it without informing them. When they agreed, when she went to him... No one knew. Not even her co-workers.
But Tetsuya knew it was that day, tonight, the last night they had spent together. He knew that, despite no one saying a word.
She didn't go to work that day, deciding to stay at home instead. She made a delicious dinner, full of their favourite dishes and then she played, talked, smiled with them till late at night.
She didn't cry. They all went to bed, hugging to each other. The last night together.
He didn't sleep that night, he couldn't. The burning feeling inside of him was killing his tiredness.
The woman next to him tossed on bed too. It looked like she couldn't sleep either.
Tetsuya snuggled to her neck, inhaling the scent he was probably smelingl for the last time in his life.
Her warm breath blew right at his ear and hair and made his heart tingle.
What were they going to do from now on? Somewhere in his mind and heart was the thought that this wasn't real.
"Tetsuya, you need to be brave..."
Her words were like a death verdict. So it was true.
He felt asleep somehow, but almost immediately woke up to check if she was still here.
The sun had started to rise when she woke up. She did everything quietly, almost like she wasn't there - packing clothes, covering their bodies with the blankets, cleaning the toilet.
Ah, it seems so natural, yet so different.
The knock on the door sounded ominously.
He heard as his mother opened the door and exchanged a few words.
His heart almost stopped beating as coldness replaced the warmth that had been inside it until now.
She returned to their bedroom and leaned above them all. With a slight movement of her wrists she brushed away his bangs.
"I'm so sorry..."
Their foreheads were blessed with a small magical kiss. Just that.
"I love you..."
No goodbyes, no more words. They weren't needed.
She stood up and turned away, not looking back. She spoke with someone in the hall. Then the doors closed.
Tetsuya stood up quickly, still in his pyjamas, and ran out of house.
She was still there, just about to turn at the corner.
"Mother!" He gasped.
He needed to hear her voice for the last time. Just this once.
She stood there, in place where she stopped. Almost like her body had frozen.
"I'm sorry Tetsuya, that I couldn't be a better mother for you all..." Her whispers almost hurt his ear in this silence where time stopped.
"Look after them..."
He wanted to stop her, but there was nothing he could do. His body wouldn't move. He wanted to yell after her, shout, beg her to come back; just so that she wouldn't leave them alone.
"I'm sorry..."
Her hair waved when she moved a little.
The last thing he remembered was cheeks red with track of tears, still fresh and shining.
"We never saw her again..." Tetsuya opened his mouth and stayed like that for few seconds. "And we'll never see her again..." He added, quieter than before.
Ryouta didn't know what to say... He was stunned... stunned in a bad way.
He could see as Tetsuya's eyes suddenly brightened up only to darken in the next second. As his lips trembled in happines and then turned upside down in sadness. The tight grip on his hand, the moving fingers, his expressive face...
It was beautiful and sad at the same time. He had always wanted to see it. But in another time, on another ocassion. Not now.
What he felt now... was weird. He couldn't put his thoughts together. This story was too much for him. For Ryouta's heart. If he had heard it somewhere else, at another time in another place he wouldn't have believed it.
But now he did. He was sure that it was all true.
And because it was all true, it was so painful and frightening.
"The money from it lasted for some time...But not enough. After some time… the earnings from my work at the convenient store wasn't enough... It was now my time, my own time. We can't escape from destiny, from fate... How much I didn't want to do what I needed to... The worst is seeing your family in pain, the ones you loved the most, the ones that were for you until the very end... I thought about it for a long time, about finally going there..."
Tetsuya sat, stiff and formal.
The room was as he remembered a few years ago. Nothing changed, nothing was out, and nothing new was visible. Darkness, coldness... He didn't like it.
He had been waiting for quite some time, but he didn't mind. He was prepared. He had prepared his mind for this, imagining this moment in his head again and again. Someone had ordered him to wait here, and that what he did.
He thought about wearing some formal clothes. But that was ridiculous.
"Welcome..."
The voice came so unexpectedly that even he was surprised.
Someone was standing at the door.
Tetsuya nodded politely and it almost made him laugh.
"Good evening, my name is..." He spoke but was instantly interrupted.
"Kuroko Tetsuya, I know..." The man smiled, showing a line of white teeth.
Like he had known from the very beginning.
"So what does the son of Kuroko Michiru want from me? Ask where she is?" he asked. Tetsuya was almost sure he was smirking.
"No, she won't come back..."
"Good approach. It's true..." He moved towards Tetsuya.
He hadn't changed at all. The scariest part was his eyes that penetrated every aspect of your body and mind. It like he could see all through you.
He sat on a comfy chair in front of Tetsuya and crossed his legs. His elegant black shoes reflected the only light coming from lamp somewhere on the wall.
"So why did you come here? I suppose you have some kind of business with me..."
Tetsuya heard his voice become softer, but he didn't trust it. He had this feeling it was only a trap. For small beautiful butterflies. How many women had he caught with that nice voice?
"I think you know what I need..." Tetsuya said lifting the corner of his lips in playful smile. It was painful to him, but he had to move with the flow of conversation.
"Money! They all want money. For their family, for themselves, for new jewelry, because they were sold and need to pay their debts... There are so many types of prostitutes in world..." he moved his hands almost majestically as if he were talking about art. It crept Tetsuya out. "But they are sometimes disappointed about what they get..." He chuckled "Maybe even most of the time..."
He knew that. Most of the bosses in this business lied to woman.
"So why do you think I won't deceive you?"
No base. Nothing.
"If I wanted to lie I would say that because of the relatively good treatment my mother received here. But I won't. I just need to believe..."
He really wanted to laugh at what he said. He was miserable, he had no future. But he had someone he needed to take care of.
The man started to laugh maniacally, like he had heard some kind of joke, a very funny one.
"I like you..." He said and stood up. He turned on his heels. "I'll phone you later with instructions..."
He was about to walk away, but he stopped and glanced one more time at Tetsuya.
"And from now on you can call me your Master..."
It was predicted from the very beginning that he would end here.
"He knew that sooner or later I would come to him... Now that our mother was gone it was my time to look after them..." Tetsuya put his free hand near his body and tried to sit. Ryouta leaned over quickly and helped him to lean on the wall behind the bed.
"I don't think you want to hear about my first time or any other customers I served. Some of them were very nice, some not..." Here he massaged his side. "Maybe it's a bad excuse but I had no choice, if not me, who would buy more medicine or food, not to mention clothes, paying bills... No..." Tetsuya lifted his face a little. The fringe that fell over his eyes now showed one of them. "I choose the path on my own. It was the only path. I can't imagine a world without my siblings... So for them... I..."
He couldn't talk. His voice broke. His arm shook frantically.
"Now that you know the truth... What will you do...?" Tetsuya looked at Ryouta with his watery eyes.
The blonde gulped. He couldn't take it. It was too much. Too much...
Ryouta slowly loosened his grip on Tetsuya's small hand.
