Should I still even apologize my inability to update regularly? Yes, sorry. You guys are going to hate me to the very end of the chapter. lolol

"David." Olivia said with an eye roll.

Cragen could already feel the tension between the two, and knew this was going to be a difficult next couple of days. "If you kids can't get along, both of you will be pulled from this case. Do you understand me?"

"We're all adults here. I'm sure we can get along just fine." David said while looking at Olivia with a smirk on his face.

"Sure, Don. Is that all you wanted? I have other things to do." She said as she was already walking out the room, not waiting on his answer. She already knew what the three stooges were thinking when she sat down at her desk. "Yes, I can work with him, doesn't mean I still don't want to ring his neck." She said as she glared back at Cragen's office.

"You know we have your back, Liv." Fin said.

They all knew how David and Olivia's relationship ended, and they all knew it wasn't on good terms. Not only had he chosen the job over her, she later found out he had a hand in Cragen's setup. She didn't let anyone know, but she doesn't trust him as far as she can throw him. "I can take him myself, but thanks."

David and Cragen walked out the office.

"Kids, David will be the lead prosecutor on our case. I expect you guys to hand over the evidence and act like mature adults."

"Capt., you do realize you just called us kids and told us to act mature all in one breath?"

He nodded his head. "That's because you guys can go from acting like an adult to a kid and vice versa in one breath too." He slightly smirked. "Now get to work so we can finally close this case."

"Yes, sir."

Olivia knew she could stay professional, but David on the other hand would be another story. She got up from her desk and walked to the cribs. She needed to wrap her mind around what was happening, and she also wanted to talk to Trevor.

David watched her walk away and smirked. "Guess she doesn't like my cologne." He said once she was out of earshot.

No one laughed or even cracked a smile. They all rolled their eyes and went back to work. They all knew they needed to close this case as soon as possible, before something bad happens.

In the cribs, Olivia was waiting for Trevor to pick up the phone.

"Hey, I was just about to call you."

"So you're not busy right now?"

"Never too busy for you." He smiled.

"Ha. David Hadden is working a case with us." She said getting straight to the point. She never told Trevor about her and David, but she figured word got around about their relationship.

"Glad I'm not working SVU cases anymore. He always gave me a run for my money in the courtroom." Trevor said oblivious to the point she was trying to make.

She bit her bottom lip and sighed. "So you don't know." She took a deep breath. "You're not the first lawyer I've dated."

Trevor was quiet as her replayed Olivia's words in his head. There was something about the situation that made him upset, and he didn't know why.

"You're upset." Olivia said when the silence became unbearable.

"I honestly don't how I feel right now. We all have a past, I just didn't think you were the type of person to use the workplace as a dating service."

Olivia's eyes quickly filled with tears of anger at his words. She couldn't believe that he thought what he just said was okay. "Are you kidding me right now?"

"I'm not having this conversation right now."

She stood up from the bed and started pacing the room. "No, let's, since you thought it was okay to bring it up. What are you trying to say about me, Trevor? That I'm always mixing business with pleasure? Explain yourself." She said bitterly. She tried to keep her voice low so they rest of the building wouldn't hear her, but she couldn't contain the anger that was currently brewing inside of her.

He sighed and realized his mistake. "Forget it. I shouldn't have said that."

"Well, it was obviously on your mind. You really think that about me."

Trevor sat down at his desk. "No, I don't. I..I don't know what came over me. There was no reason for me to say that. I guess I'm just jealous because you spend most of your time at work, which means you're going to be spending more time with your ex for the next week than me, and since you're always at work, and that's where you meet people to date, I guess I'm just scared to lose you."

Olivia finally stopped pacing the room and sighed. "That's how you decided to show your insecurity?"

"Yes, because I'm an idiot. I know you're not that type of woman, Olivia. I'm sorry." He said with sincerity in his voice.

"I want nothing to do with David. We didn't end on the best of terms. There's no need for you to be insecure."

"You're right. I'm sorry. I trust you."

"I have to go. I just called to tell you we were working together. I don't know when I'll be home. Give Trent a kiss for me." She hung up not letting him get a word in. His words left an uneasy feeling in her stomach. Last night she was telling him how she had loved him more than anyone else, and he was still feeling insecure.

"Was all the evidence obtained legally?" David asked while looking through statements.

"Yes." Olivia said dryly. "Everything was done by the book."

"How long have you've been holding the current suspects in lockup?"

She crossed her arms. "Why does that matter?"

David sighed and finally looked up at her. "Their lawyers may try to argue that keeping them in there for a long period of time is a police tactic."

She rolled her eyes. "About six hours or so."

"Right. You four need to go talk to them now." He also looked at the other detectives who had stayed silent during the whole conversation.

"We will when we come up with a plan. Remember, you're just an attorney on this case, not the Captain." Olivia said sternly.

"Good cops don't need a plan." He fired back.

"David, we'll call you if we need anything." Amanda stepped in before Olivia could verbally rip his head off.

Olivia literally bit her tongue and walked away. It was taking everything out of her to stay professional with David, and it didn't help that she had her and Trevor's last conversation on her mind. "I'm going to kill him." She muttered to herself.

"If she shoots you, I didn't hear or see anything." Fin said to David before he walked away to follow Olivia.

Nick and Amanda just rolled their eyes at him before they walked back to their desks.

"You okay?" Fin asked as he sat next to Olivia.

She looked up from her phone and sighed. "No. I would say I need to go home so I won't kill David, but then I just may end up shooting Trevor."

Fin's face became very serious at the thought of Trevor hurting Olivia. "What did he do?" He said in a stern voice.

"Just relationship problems. Nothing I can't handle, but I'll know who to call." She smirked.

"I'm here if you want to talk. Cry? Probably not the best person. You can call Melinda for that one." He chuckled.

Olivia smiled. "Love you too."

"So, we have no new information? Do you guys want them to walk?" David said in an annoyed voice. "I expected more from New York's elite squad." He stated in a mocking tone.

That was it. Olivia had enough. "What the hell is your problem? You've had a stick up your ass since you walked in the building. What ever issue you have with me or the squad, you need to drop it now. None of us want to be around you any longer than we have to."

David looked up from his paperwork and squinted his eyes. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Perfect. Aren't you and your anger issues the reason one of the suspects lawyered up before we got any information out of him? Didn't your last partner tend to make that idiotic mistake also?"

Everyone in earshot knew what was coming next. Even after four years, Elliot was still a sensitive topic for Olivia, especially when someone talked about him in a negative way. Yes, he had his problems, but he was a good guy. Olivia was disgusted that she even disclosed any of her personal life to David. "You son of a bitch!" She said as she tried to stormed towards him, but Fin grabbed her arm.

"He's not worth it." He whispered.

"I suggest you leave, right now." Nick stood in David's face with a stern look on his face.

Cragen, who had witnessed the whole thing sighed. He knew from the beginning that this was going to happen. "Olivia, go home. You're off the case. David, I will be calling your boss." He said before he walked back into his office.

Olivia glared over at David who had a smug look on his face. "I hope you rot in hell." She said before she grabbed her things and stormed out the precinct.

"That was a low blow and you know it. You have no reason to act like a dick. You're the one that broke her heart, and you're acting like the victim. Get over it or I'll help you." Fin said with anger dripping from every word. Olivia was like his little sister, and anyone that messed with her has to deal with him.

"Count your blessings, Mr. Haden." Amanda said with a shake of a head.

Olivia was livid. She couldn't believe her day had ended like this. Everything went from great to hell in less than twenty four hours. She didn't even care about getting sent home. This is where she wanted to be as soon as she saw David walk into Captain's office. She was so upset that she didn't notice Trevor standing in the middle of the living room with flowers in his hand.

"Amanda called me after you left, and I wanted to beat you home. I'm sorry."

Olivia rolled her eyes. She was too upset to talk. She knew if she said anything, it would caused a fight, and she didn't have the energy for that. She walked past him, and straight into her bedroom. She slammed the door behind her and locked it.

Trevor sighed. He had a lot of making up to do. He walked over to the door and knocked. "Liv, can we please talk? I know I'm an insensitive idiot for even thinking that about you. Please let me make it up to you."

"Go to hell, Trevor." She said articulating every word.

"I deserve that." He said with a sigh. "I am truly sorry for hurting you."

"Yeah, like I haven't heard that before." She sat on her bed and let out a frustrated sigh. "Can you just go? I had the worst day, and I really don't want to have this conversation."

"What happened with David?" He almost said annoyed.

Olivia noticed his change of tone. "Nothing."

"Doesn't sound like nothing. Did he hurt you?"

She scoffed. "What are you going to do, kick his ass for doing the same thing that you did?"

Trevor was silent for a moment as he chose his words carefully. "Yes, because no one should hurt you, not even me." It was quiet for a few seconds until Trevor heard Olivia unlock and open the door. He closed his eyes and sighed gratefully.

Olivia was tired of fighting, and if she was being honest, she just wanted Trevor to hold her right now. She swallowed her pride. "I accept your apology." She said with no emotion in her voice.

Trevor didn't know if he believed her or not, but he was going to take what he could get. "I love you."

"I know." She whispered quietly. "Just be straightforward with me instead of beating around the bush. I'm a big girl. I can handle it."

"I will. I'm sorry." He reached out and softly grazed her knuckles. "Can I do anything to make you feel any better?"

"Kick David's ass." She said with a slight chuckle before she fell into Trevor's chest. "Today was a day from hell, and I just want to be held." She with a slightly whiny voice. Usually, she wouldn't be comfortable with being whiny, but it was Trevor, and she trusted him.

"I can do both. How about you go get ready for bed while I make you some wine. I'm guessing you're off the case, which means no work for you."

She nodded. "I rather be home with you anyways." She pulled away from him and kissed his chin softly, before she went to go change.

Trevor walked away and dropped the flowers on her dining room table before he walked into the kitchen and grabbed the wine off the top shelf. He got two wine glasses and begun to walk back to the bedroom. He used his foot to close the door behind him. "So, tell me what happened." He said as he placed the bottle and glasses on her dresser.

"He had a stick up his ass the moment he walked into the building. I knew he was going to be a jerk to me, but he was acting like that towards everyone. I mean, I don't know why he's upset with me anymore. He broke up with me. He chose the job over me. He helped set Cragen up. If anything, I should be pissed at him."

"Whoa." Trevor tried to digest all of what he just heard. He walked to the bed with the two full glasses and set down. "He helped with that setup?"

Olivia grabbed her glass and took a sip before she spoke. "Well, not really helped, but he didn't help stop it either. And no, besides you and me, no one knows about his involvement."

"Wow. I knew I didn't like him for a reason. Is it that hard for him to be mature?"

She sighed. "Apparently. Then, he had the nerve to bring up Elliot. That's when I had enough."

Trevor, just like everyone else, knew how much Elliot meant to Olivia, so the fact the David even brought him up was a sign of blatant disrespect. "I'm guessing that's the exact moment you got kicked off the case."

She nodded.

"I'm sorry you had to deal with that, babe. No one like that deserves to be in your presence."

She nonchalantly shrugged. "I can handle it, eventually. I'm just hoping that I won't have to work with him again, and if I do, that he's grown up a little."

"I hope so too, for his sake."

Olivia leaned on his shoulder. "Thank you for listening to me and being here after I told you to go to hell." She smiled softly. "It means a lot to me."

Trevor chuckled. "You can tell me to go to hell as many times as you want, but I'm always going to here for you."

"I love you."

"I love you, too." Trevor said back before he leaned down and kissed her softly on the lips.

Alright, before all the David lovers come at my head, I know this was OOC, but it's going to make more sense later on, and he'll apologize eventually.
