Previously:
She gasped in a breath and blinked some more times to clear her vision only to notice Alec was standing there, glaring down at her. His eyes were pitch black and his grip on her arm tightened, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer. "What do you think you are doing?"
"B-being polite..." She gasped in some, shaking slightly as the cheerful feeling she had began collecting suddenly left her system. She was worried about what he could do to her, but also confused about why he was acting this way.
An almost sick laugh left his mouth even though there was no look of amusement on his face as he continued glaring down at her. "You call that being polite?" He asked her, sounding like that was the most ridiculous thing he had ever heard.
"Yes...I do.." She said, trying and managing to keep her voice even as he gripped her wrist harder as it began to hurt.
"Alec..." She breathed in but a simple growl left from him, he started staring at her now like he had before, he was looking at her but he wasn't seeing her. "Alec!" She tried to get his attention as she pulled gently at her wrist, hoping he'd snap out of it and let her free.
But he didn't, a snapping sound caused Lizzie to jump and let out a quick noise before Alec came back to his senses. He dropped her wrist like it was fire, looking down at her shocked.
Now:
Chapter Seven- Nightmare
Tears began falling down Lizzie's face as she backed up to get away from Alec. She held her wrist in her hand, holding it against her chest as her breathing began faster with how badly the pain was feeling. She briefly thought she saw Alec looked guilty or sorry, but shook her own head when she realized she must have been seeing things, even though his previous shocked expression had disappeared.
"Wh-what did I...did I ever do t-to you?" She asked him in between shaky breaths, noticing that she was still backing away from him. Her back hit the edge of the doorway to the garden, without waiting for any answer she turned and ran away from him. She had to catch her balance after a moment, buts he continued running.
Lizzie briefly glanced over her shoulder to see if anyone was following her but felt herself hit against something. She hadn't watched where she was going as she turned a corner and ran straight into Afton Volturi.
The action caused her to fall backwards, she would have landed against her back if Afton had not picked her up mid fall. "Whoa there...where's the-" He cut himself off as he saw her face, a frown replaced his expression as he saw that she was crying and then he noticed that she had her wrist close against her chest.
"What happened?" He asked her in a concerned voice. She blinked a bit, her vision being blurry from her crying.
"...Alec..." She whispered in between small gasps as sniffles broke through the silence that followed her saying his name. Hurt was all she could feel, hurt for her wrist and hurt for her fragile feelings. Lizzie was a soft hearted person, anything could upset her even if other people were being bothered, it was how she was.
For Alec to be this cruel to her in this way, hurt her feelings almost as much as her wrist breaking had hurt her, and the look Afton gave her began to make her feel worse. What if this made Alec get into trouble? What if it just became worse on her because of it? Or, what if Alec stayed away from her from then on?
A lot more 'what if's' echoed through her mind, shouldn't she want him to stay away from her by now? She didn't know for sure.
Afton gently picked her up fully in his arms and carried her down the hallway. He listened to her trying to control her breathing and emotions, this made him frown. He felt sorry for the girl but her being there and how young she was, brought up his own emotions of how him and his mate, Chelsea, would never be able to have any other family aside from The Volturi.
This made his frown deepen, he knew Chelsea secretly wanted a child, even if he or she was adopted, but he had never been allowed to give her that option. On account of The Volturi Law's that they would have to follow.
He turned into a room and walked inside it, setting Lizzie ever so gently down on the edge of the bed. He called for Chelsea quietly, and within a few seconds she was there. Chelsea was a 5 foot 3, curly brunette vampire whom had originally gone by the name Charmion, but had changed it to Chelsea over the years. She had also, changed her hair to blonde but the ringlets remained, her powder like skin was flawless and her bright red eyes stood out against her face.
Aro had been her creator, she was and probably will always be an important member to The Volturi because of her gift of relationship manipulation. She can change the loyalty of covens, certain vampires, anyone her hearts desire. Except of strong bonds of love such as Edward and Bella and so forth.
She rushed to her mates side, her hair pinned back as she slid off the coat she was wearing. "Yes my darling?" Her voice left her lips in a smooth, yet bell like fashion. Lizzie blinked a few times at this, she began to feel insecure of herself with how Chelsea was.
"We need to help Lizzie's wrist, my love. Alec's temper seems to have flared up again." Afton spoke as if it was a normal accurence, and the idea that it was or could be made Lizzie flinch visibly and mentally. Lizzie clunched her wrist to her chest and watched as Chelsea was out of the room, then had returned in a flash with what looked to be a small doctor's bag.
Afton took it from Chelsea, gently laying a kiss on her cheek and kneeled down in front of Lizzie, he set the bag down next to him opening it within the same movement and held out his hand for her wrist. "May I?" He asked softly.
Lizzie hesitated briefly, before moving her wrist to his hand. Afton was gentle as he examined it, he had never been around humans whom he'd have to take care of, but he knew enough to be able to help her. He wrapped a bandage around her wrist and then hand, then a cast was added gently.
Lizzie breathed out in relief, watched Afton's serious expression as he had been wrapping her wrist and she suddenly felt a wave of guilt rack her small frame. The thought that Alec may get into trouble from this came across her again and she frowned to herself because of it. Though, Afton saw this and raised his eyebrows.
Chelsea noticed this as well and spoke up before her mate could, "Why are you frowning more now than before, Dear? Surely you will feel better soon." Her tone sounded very soothing to Lizzie and she found herself relaxing as she listened to the woman.
"No... no... I.. I'm worried what will happen if Alec gets into trouble over me.." There was silence until little laughs left the two vampires.
"He broke your wrist, Child, and you are worried if he will be into trouble?" They simply smiled at her as Afton spoke.
"I.. I suppose.." Lizzie looked down to avoid their gaze, she didn't understand it but there was something that Alec had an issue with when it came to her. "Dear, you should go back to your room and get some rest, we will call a Doctor for you soon." Remarked Chelsea. There was something oddly motherly about the woman that Lizzie found nice, she wasn't a cruel vampire or person it would seem.
Lizzie nodded gently and stood, she had calmed down a great deal as she was having her wrist checked by Afton and found that she had cried all she needed to. She softly thanked them and was quickly then on her way, the idea of sleeping or even just laying down more appealing than anything else since she'd arrived.
Once in her room and in her bed, Lizzie had changed into a gown she found on her bed, It was long and white, floating down around her legs. She almost could feel as though she was a princess at that moment, if her bandaged and casted wrist wasn't there to remind her that she wasn't of course.
She climbed into the bed and got into a comfortable position so that her wrist was elevated. She stifled a yawn and closed her eyes, relaxing against the soft bed. As Lizzie began to sleep, a sudden loud noise made her jolt awake.
She looked around and began to feel a frantic feeling as if something bad was about to happen around her. Her bedroom door opened and there stood Aro, looking at her in displeasure but also had a smile on his lips, he waved his hand at her to follow him and she sat there, frightened.
"Come along, Lizzie." He said in a delighted yet twisted sort of tone, the smile turning into a twisted grin that caused her to shiver all over. For fearing what would happen if she disobeyed him, she quickly stood and followed him. Unlike Alec had before, Aro walked slowly so that she would not lose sight of him. She was confused on what was happening, her arms shaking as she was afraid of the possibility that perhaps she was to be killed after all.
But then at that moment, she saw Aro disappear into a room. Her heart began to pound as she could hear voices from inside the room, she stood back from it but one voice in particular stood out.
It was Alec's.
She heard Aro say something that sounded like her name, but she couldn't have been sure. Lizzie ran into the room, her heart pounding and her seeming out of breath as she began to become frightened for more than herself, she could see Alec on his knees, his arms held by two volturi guards. The sight made her throat tighten in shock and in emotions, too many for her to handle.
"You can't do this.." She spoke out softly, meaning to yell but unable to. A simple laugh left them all, she shook as she stepped forward towards Alec. "Alec-" She began, but screamed in horror as she saw one of the men tear off his head.
A scream erupted from Lizzie's throat as she snapped awake, sitting up quickly only to find herself still in the soft bed that rested in her bedroom. A cover of sweat covered her body, her heart pounding and her breathing faster from the fear of her nightmare.
"A... a dream... it was only a dream..." She whispered to herself. She looked to the nearby clock, still trembling from the after effects of her nightmare. She saw that a few hours had passed since she first arrived into her bedroom and was surprised, it had only felt like minutes.
Her stomach rumbled in protest of its hunger and she slowly climbed out of the bed and decided to search for food in the kitchen. But in all honesty, she wanted to find Alec and see that he was okay, but what job was it for her? It was obvious that there was some issues that he had with her, and she highly doubted that he'd tell her any of them especially after the events that had occued before.
He had become angry when she was being polite to the guard whom had kissed her cheek, but she meant no harm in returning it with a kiss of her own. But Alec made it seem as though she was doing such a thing to hurt him, but he had no claim to her, they barely knew each other. So, what was it to him if she did kiss others around her?
Alec confused her, made her head spin, and kept her on her toes. He never left her thoughts and she was constantly wondering about him, even now she could not hold anger for him about her wrist, she even admitted to herself that it must not be easy to contain your strength or anger if you have not had to. And her being new there, constantly around the area's that Alec visited, she couldn't imagine that was easy for him either.
But then again, she may just be making excuses so she would not have to think of Alec in ill light, perhaps she was hopeful that she would eventually understand why he seemed to dislike her. But putting those thoughts aside, she left her room and ventured out towards the kitchen, food was her main priority after her long day, she couldn't focus on Alec right now. No matter how much she felt she should.
