Thank you so much for reading this story, I can't believe I'm already on the 7th chapter. I'm pretty lazy and always lose my motivation pretty quickly. That's why music is the best medicine for me, well, until my ears hurt that is. (which is a bad thing!)
I decided to update this first rather than my other fics because you guys seem to want to read this one more.
I don't know how many chapter this story will have, but my mind always wanders off to the future so, it will probably be a bit long since I want to add things like when they're in High school and stuff like that.
I really don't know much about dramas. (I don't really watch them and mangas don't help that much since dramas can be pretty cliche and I want to make it interesting-ish)
Also, I've drew up a sketch of some characters from my other fan fic (Rin and Yui from my KNB fics) as chibi. I might post up Tsubami's and Misa's too! Anyway, the link will be on my profile soon so please enjoy them! I wanted you guys to know how they might look like since in Fanfiction Net. you can't post any pictures.
Anyway, in the last chapter, Misa was interacting mostly with Akaya (I got a soft spot for him), so in this chapter, I'll try to make her interact with everyone else, but it'll be slow. I don't want her to be Mary Sue or anything.
School also starts pretty soon for me, so I guess you guys would have to expect even slower updates. The problem with this year, is that I choose some harder classes (You know, honors and AP) so I expect more homework, but I'll try to update every now and then but it will definitely be only on the weekends. This is just a small notice for you guys since i don't know when chapter 8 is going to come out. Thank you so much for the favorites and follows :)

Chapter 7: Just an Average Day
The next day, Misa was to attend school in the early morning for practice with the tennis team. She wasn't so sure what she was to the team as she wasn't a member of the club and it wouldn't even be possible to be a member because it was a boys tennis club. She huffed as she took her ribbon and tied it around her collar. The ribbon was tilted, and she kept trying to fix it, but no luck.
There was a knock on the door and then it gently swung open. "Good morning, Misa-sama!" Umi chirped happily as she bowed one-hundred eighty degrees. "Breakfast is ready already, so please come down." Misa nodded with a smile and was just about to leave through the door when Umi stopped her. "Misa-sama, please, let me help you with your ribbon."
Misa sat by a long table and kept glancing at her ribbon. She needed to keep in mind to ask Umi to teach her how to make perfect ribbons.
The table was made of dark, rich wood. It was polished to its finest, being able to reflect a anything like a mirror. It always made the dinning area feel smaller because it took most of the space, but if one were to sit there by themselves, they could feel how overwhelming it was. Misa on the other hand, didn't have any feeling of fright. She had always sat down on the same table, in the exact chair and ate with her two parents.
Annabelle walked down the stairs in a white sun dress, a diamond necklace and white pumps. There was a pair of sunglasses that settled on her hair. "Good morning, Misa-chan." The older woman said to her daughter as she took a seat that was right next to the girl. "Hm, what's for breakfast today?"
"French toast with some scrambled eggs and Italian sausage." Misa answered as she received her plate of food from a chef and chowed down in hunger. Annabelle just smiled and waited for her food to arrive. "Where is father?" Misa looked at the time and realized that it was unusual for her father to arrive late for breakfast. Usually, the man would be the first one to wake up early in the morning.
"Ara, Papa is at work. He's going to go on a bushiness trip for a two weeks so you might get lonely by yourself here Misa." Anabelle waited for her daughter's reply, but she never answered.
Misa froze a bit when she heard her mother use the word 'Papa'. It was a very affectionate way of saying mother and father, and it wasn't that formal. She knew that her mother has been trying to make her say Mama and Papa for a few years now. Annabelle would always say those words a few times, thinking Misa might get curious about the words and test it herself. But of course, the young girl was too wise for her own and when she heard those words, the first thing she did was go find a dictionary where she defined those words. She thought that they were too childish and stuck with father and mother, the way some of the older servants taught her how to say.
"But don't worry Misa-chan." Anabelle said reassuringly, "I will try to be at home as much as I can. I'll even cancel some of my interviews."
"It's fine, you don't need to cancel your work. If you want to do something, we can always do it another time." Misa used the napkin to dab her mouth with perfect etiquette. "I'm going to school now, see you mother."
The young girl left before her mother could say anything back. Annabelle shook her head as she heaved a sigh. Misa was still too stiff for her own good. "Ah, Umi-san! Can you please get me some more sausage, they're just so delicious."
"Hai."
Misa stared blankly at the limousine in front of her. She was thinking whether or not she get in. For some reason, she was thinking she should start using the train or something like that. She wanted to act more commonly. In the end, she decided to use the limo anyway. She stopped her driver just a few blocks from the school and thanked him. She walked out, looking left and right for anyone but saw none. She followed a crowd of students and acted like one with them. No one would find out she came out from a limo and to others, it would look like she was just walking to school.
She looked around, glad that she did not have to attend tennis practice that morning. She spoke with Yukimura yesterday, and the older boy said that she shouldn't try to attend if there was a lot of students already. And he would try to call her when he wanted her to go to the practice anyway. Picking her phone from her bag, she scrolled through her contacts and saw that there was now another person in her list, Yukimura Seiichi. The only people that were on her list was just her parents, Umi, and her driver. Besides those four, she had no friends who she could call or hang out.
As Misa passed the tennis courts, she could have sworn she saw Akaya. For a few seconds, she stared deep into his sea green eyes. She never realized how pretty it was until now. Then he wore a childish grin before trying to catch up to the others who was already in front of him. She felt warm again and hurried off to class, pushing her last thoughts in the back of her mind.
When the lunch bell rang, she was going to start eating in the classroom when she heard someone call her.
"Kanzaki-san!" A girl said as she waved her hand towards Misa. The said girl stood up from her seat and strolled towards her classmate who was now wearing a bright smile. "Senri-sensei is calling for you in the teachers lounge so you should finish your food quickly." The girl paused before sticking out her hand, "I'm Mari. Ushigi, Mari. Nice to meet you Kanzaki-san. I hope we get along this year."
Misa nodded, "Me too."
Instead of finishing the rest of her lunch, Misa went to the teacher's lounge first. She turned the door knob and stepped in. It was a completely different atmosphere then the classroom, no the adults weren't acting extremely childish or mature. They were just mostly minding their own bushiness, talking about jokes and idling around. It was actually rather boring.
She saw a familiar brown haired man and walked up to her teacher. "Excuse me, Senri-sensei. I heard form, Ushigi-san that you asked me to come. Is there something you need?"
The man turned and nodded, "Alright Misa-san. Why don't you take a seat?" He ushered the young girl to a strolling chair and she sat herself down comfortably. Misa didn't want to question why her teacher called her out by her first name, but she didn't mind. "How is school coming along?" He asked in a gentle tone.
Seeing as there was nothing strange going on, Misa simple said, "It's fine. Rikkaidai Fuzoku Chu is a very good school." Misa wasn't one who was proud for lying, heck she barely lied, this was probably her very first time. But she learned her manners, and she really didn't have any personal opinion about the school. To her, a school was a school. The people was nice and the teachers taught what was needed. It was rather normal. Before she could stand up and leave, Senri-sensei stopped the girl. He asked her for a favor; if she could take a stack of paper to the student council room. "Thank you Misa-san. I think you'll recognize Yagyuu-san since he's also in the tennis club." He stated.
Misa nodded and bid goodbye to her teacher. In her hands were a stack of towering paper. She took a few steps every few seconds so she wouldn't trip, and it didn't help that she couldn't see anything pass the papers. It was quite heavy and her hands started to dangle even lower. Her muscles ache and she bit her lips, 'Perhaps I should actually do some more exercise.' She thought to herself. Sure she used her brain a lot but physically, she was weak. Suddenly, the heavy weight disappeared and it was lighter. Instead of seeing a stack of white paper in front of her, the view cleared and she could see the hallway. Turning to her left, she saw Marui grin at her with his bubbly beam. His tousled red hair swept to the side of his face, which reminded the girl of an apple, well she wasn't going to say it. He blew a bubble and tilted his head to urge the girl to follow him.
"You looked like you needed help." he said, looking down at Misa, "I saw you walking down the hallway looking a bit lost." A bit was an understatement. He saw the girl walking randomly in twists and turns, he was surprised she never got knocked down. He stifled a chuckle and walked along side with her.
"Well, thank you very much for your help." Misa said whole heartily. She knew that during the short duration of her walking, there wasn't a single person who turned to her and helped. That was why she felt very grateful towards Marui at the moment.
The red head boy was nice company as he talked about various flavor of sweets. From cakes to golden pastries, she could see the sparkles in his eyes when he talked. Misa didn't mind his length description of cakes as her father was the same, being a owner of a company that sold scrumptious sweets. So, she joined in the conversation. It was enjoyable, she thought, for two people talking about a topic together like they were friends.
"One day we can go to my favorite bakery." Marui said with a large smile, "They have the best cream puffs."
She nodded in agreement, and that was how she got another person on her contact list.
Misa was told to stay in the student council room and was excused from classes for the rest of the day. It happened simply because Yagyuu was looking over papers and reports and seemed troubled about it. There were other members of the student council dragging around, but they were no help. The young girl was a bit curious so she went over to a stack of papers next to Yagyuu and gave it a quick glance. To her, it was surprisingly simple. Just some money calculations for upcoming events and things like school damages. She quickly wrote down numbers and checked a few boxes. The large vocabulary didn't strain her one bit and by the time she snapped out of her thinking, the room was empty except for Yagyuu who was watching her with a small stack of his own papers. She wanted to ask where everyone left to, but with one look at the clock, she knew that lunch had just ended.
"You're not going to be late." Yagyuu said when he saw her stand up abruptly, "I excused you since you were helping us out with the papers."
Misa took a glance and her quick writings on the paper, "I'm sorry." She apologized, "It was a really easy thing to do, and I thought how I could help a little." She felt a bit nosy for going into the student council's business, but Yagyuu seems to ignore her apology and instead thanked her for her help. She wasn't so sure what to say and just said a 'You're welcome' and went back to work.
The two worked in complete silence. Only the scribbling of the pencil and ticking of the clock resonated in the room. There was a few stacks left when the bell rang, signaling the end of a school day.
Misa stopped her pencil when Yagyuu stood up. He wore a polite smile, "Thank you very much for your help. But it's time for tennis practice." He left the papers where it was on the table and gazed at her for a few seconds, "I hope I can impose on you again." He stated, knowing that she would be tagging along with him to practice to help out around with whatever she could.
"It's fine." Misa simply said and the two walked out. Well, not before Yagyuu opened the door for her and said "Ladies first."
They separated when the older boy walked towards the boy's changing room.
When she started to walk alone towards the tennis courts, she could see groups of girls together. They were in giggling fits, but seemed to have fun nevertheless. Something then tugged on her heart, a small pained feeling. She slightly flinched, her face scrunched when the feeling seemed to thump harder. As soon as it eased away, her face turned back to her blank expression. She trudged towards the courts as soon as it was in view. To her surprise, there was not one speck of crazy fan girls in view.
"Puri."
Someone blew warm air near her ear and said the word 'Puri'. She wasn't sure if it was some dialect, but she knew only one person who would say that strange word and that was her senior Niou. She turned around to look at the boy who just grinned slyly. "Did I scare you there?" He asked as he moved closer to her.
She made no move to step aside and rubbed her ears furiously with her small hands. The feeling of Niou's breath was still there and it felt strange. She didn't reply to Niou's question and he just huffed as he pretended to sulk with Yagyuu. The boy in the spectacles just stated how un-gentlemen like Niou was when he blew air in the girl's ear. The trickster shrugged his shoulders before winking at Misa. Oh how devious he was.
Jackal was in view and gave Misa a simple wave when he finally caught her gaze. Then he went back to talking to Marui about their strategy for being a doubles team.
Misa walked towards Yukimura and Yanagi to discuss about whatever she was going to do that day. When she stood in front of the two, she wasn't sure if they saw her not. So she waited patiently until they would turn their attention to her. She heard parts of their conversations like. "What happened to Sanada?", "He screamed a lot at everyone.", "So he scared them off."
Somewhere she had the feeling the strict fuku-buchou was the reason for the empty-like courts.
"Ah, Kanzaki-san. Good Afternoon." Yukimura greeted the young girl with a bright smile. "Do you want to watch practice first? I was thinking you can help the first years later to pick up the tennis balls."
Yanagi who noticed the girl when he looked down gave her a nod of recognition, well that was before he started flipping through a stack of notebooks containing new data. She wondered how he got the information from everyone, she didn't think that he asked them about everything since he was as quiet as her and unusally calm like most of the regulars.
Shaking her thoughts away, Misa simply nodded which was a sign that she agreed the captain's decision. She took a seat at the benches with a box of drinks sitting by her legs. Every time she saw someone looking tired with a drained expression, she gave them a water bottle to refresh themselves. Practice was hard for both the regulars and the non-regulars. They ran laps, did swings with their rackets, push ups, sit ups and everything to help them gain muscles. The regulars seemed on another level compared to everyone else, but they seemed tired too nonetheless.
Then Akaya came sitting right next to her. He was covered in sweat but again, she didn't mind at all. They were at practice after all. So she handed him a bottle of water and he gulped it down quickly. The water level drained down as he drank. When he finished, there was only a bit of water swirling at the bottom. A sigh escape through his lips as he leaned back against the bench. "Thanks Kanzaki-san." He said.
"Your welcome."
Then there came the shout of Sanada, "AKAYA! Come back and run laps! NO resting yet!"
The said boy with black curly hair resembling a seaweed flinched. Before he stood up to run his laps, he smiled at Misa and said, "Watch me as I run laps like an ace!" She wasn't sure what he meant, but she watched him as he ran. She noticed that there were times where he would glance back to her figure at the bench as if wondering whether she was watching or not. And when their eyes connected, he would run even faster.
Misa just stared, she made a conclusion that Akaya was just simply weird. She remembered just yesterday about the warm feeling she felt when she closed her eyes and how her lips felt as light as a cloud. Maybe whatever happened during that time was the reason why he was weird. She took back her words when she saw Niou chasing people during the laps with a scary mask. 'Everyone is weird." She thought to herself finally, "Including me of course.'
Hey guys, thanks so much for your favorites/follows/reviews! This chapter is a bit short, but I thought when she said 'everyone is weird' that it was a good ending for the chapter. I already have an idea for chapter 8 so I'll try to make up for this one.
Please let me know what you think about this chapter. I also hope that you can leave some comments about the new character, Ushigi Mari. Do you guys want her to be nice/mean?
I think Yagyuu is ooc with most characters. But I'll try to keep them in character. I'll try to make the future chapters include Sanada, Yukimura, Jackal and Yanagi more.
I wasn't sure on what to write, so I wanted to make it a normal day for Misa so she could develop some bonds with the tennis members. Since I did say it was going to be a bit Oc-centric. I don't want her to be a Mary Sue though, and foreshadowing seemed pretty cool. Hope you guys are looking for the next chapter :)
Also, if you guys have any questions or anything, you can leave a review or PM me, I'll answer as soon as I see it.
