I wanted to update quickly because I felt so bad about how long of a wait it was from Chapter Five to Chapter Six. Anyways, I hope everyone is enjoying the story. Please let me know what you think. I will most likely be sticking with Clarke's point of view for the rest of the story, I usually choose one character's point of view to write in once I get to a certain point of the story. That way you don't always know what Bellamy is thinking, what is going on in his beautiful head. Here is Chapter Seven, enjoy!
Chapter Seven
CLARKE'S POV
We finished talking to the rest of our people, as we promised. They shared similar reactions that the others did. Overall everyone is weary on whether or not these people can truly be trusted.
The two guards that had been escorting Bellamy and I around all day left us in Doctor Hale's office and told us to wait.
"Everyone seemed happy to see you." I said, turning to Bellamy, trying to make some sort of conversation while we waited.
"They were happy to see a familiar face. I would too if I had been locked up in an unfamiliar place for two days without a clue as to what the hell was going on." Bellamy pointed out.
"It was more than just that. They have you to thank for the fact that they are still breathing, they were relieved to see that you were alright." I added.
"You are just as responsible for that as I am, - " He started but got cut off by the entrance of Doctor Hale.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." He apologized. "How did the day go?"
"It went fine. We want to know when everyone will be released from their rooms. You can't keep us locked up forever." Bellamy said with a hint of anger in his voice.
"Like I have told you before, we would allow you all to roam freely and begin to start your life here once every one of your people was talked to. Now that that task has been complete we will keep our promise. Tomorrow morning all the doors will be unlocked and we can have a group meeting in the common room." Doctor Hale explained.
"How is Raven Reyes?" Bellamy asked, I told him yesterday that they were treating to her injuries here. I couldn't help feel a bit of jealously, remembering Raven's story of her one night stand with Bellamy, but it was pushed aside by my shared concern for her.
"Miss Reyes is actually doing much better than we had expected. She is responding well to our treatments and should be better if everything else proceeds on such a good note. She is a fighter, that's for sure." I listened and smiled to hear the good news about my friend.
"When can we see her?" I asked eagerly.
"It would be too late to go now but I can see to arrange it after the meeting in the common room tomorrow morning." He replied. Then continued, "I am sure you are both tired after another long day. Bellamy your room-"
"Actually I am going to be staying in Clarke's room." Bellamy told him, he didn't ask him, he told him. As if it wasn't under discussion.
My eyes widened since this was news to me as well; a complete surprise. He surely didn't ask me if it was alright either. Well of course it is okay with me but I was still shocked and confused with his decision.
"Very well. Have a good night." Was all Doctor Hale said, looking a bit surprised as well. Probably due to the fact that we told him there was nothing going on between us and this surely did not imply that.
The guards walked us back to my- errrr um I mean - our room and neither of us said a word.
Once we got to the room Bellamy was the first to say something as we both went to sit on the couch, "I didn't mean to spring that on you like that but I knew if you had a problem with it that you would say something right there in then. It is okay with you, right?" He looked nervous now, rubbing the back of his neck as he talked.
"Yeah, I'm actually kind of glad." I said, without thinking.
"Really?" The nervousness vanished and he smirks.
"Uhh- I don't know. You're the one who wanted to share the room in the first place. What's your reason, huh?" I panicked, bring the attention back to him.
"I figured that if they don't live up to their promise and end up keeping us all locked up longer then they said then I would not want to be alone." He said. I guess I hoped he would have a difference answer but it made sense and he had a point.
"You know, I think they might not be the enemy after all. They helped Raven, they have been good to us so far, I may all be too good to be true like we thought but I'm starting to think maybe not." I admitted. I knew I was being too optimistic and that it wasn't exactly true, I was still very skeptical, but maybe if I say it enough times I will believe that I really do have faith in these people.
"I'll believe it when I see it." Bellamy shrugged, clearly sharing my hidden feelings of skepticism.
I yawned. Bellamy smiled and said, "You can take the bed tonight."
"I already told you, you're too tall to sleep on this couch." I reminded him.
"Well unless you want me sleeping up there with you again I am sleeping on the couch." Bellamy said, still smiling.
Neither of us had mentioned the fact that we fell asleep together last night, until now. Hoping I wasn't blushing, I laughed and rolled my eyes before saying, "You wish."
I was too tired to argue any further with him and moved to the bed.
At first I didn't fall asleep right away. I wondered what it would have been like if I accepted his offer for him to join me at first.
"Okay. Doctor Hale is going to be here soon to talk to all of us and elaborate on what Bellamy and I have already told you about our futures here." I explained to our people in the common room as we waited for the meeting to start, with Bellamy at my side.
"Once it's over everything will change. Our lives here will start." Bellamy added.
Doctor Hale came in just as we finished our talk with the group. He gave his explanation and answered a few questions before running off again.
The meeting was over and everyone was looking at each other or at Bellamy and I, lost, not knowing what to do next. We were told that we could use anything in here or whatever we wish but everyone was still confused. It was clear by the looks on everyone's faces that they still had a million questions but that was going to have to wait. My focus was on seeing Raven and by the look on Bellamy's face I assume he was thinking the same thing.
"Let's go." Bellamy turned to me.
Luckily we left without being stopped by anyone, even though I thought I saw Jasper and Monty making their way over to us. We met up with a nurse in the hall that took us to Raven, explaining that Doctor Hale informed her we would be coming to see her.
"Hey, look who it is. When they told me you two were still alive and kicking I almost didn't believe it." Raven said groggily, it seemed like she had just woken up or was feeling the affects of whatever medication they were giving her.
"I'm so glad to see you're alright." I said basically running to her bedside. I would have hugged her if I weren't too scared to hurt her.
"Good to see you Raven." Bellamy added.
"Someone want to explain what the hell is going on here? What happened to us? Where are we? Is Finn here too? Nobody has told me anything. All they told me when I woke up this morning was that my people are all here and that you two were coming to see me." Raven said, becoming more herself.
"We have a lot to catch you up on." I told her.
Bellamy left the room as soon as we got up the next morning saying he wanted to check in with Miller for something. Seconds later Jasper and Monty burst into the room.
"What's up you guys?" I asked, still a bit sleepy, getting off the couch meeting them in the middle of the room.
"What's with Bellamy leaving your room at wee hours of the morning?" Jasper asked, ignoring my question. Uh oh. I knew this was coming.
"Don't get the wrong idea. There is nothing going on between Bellamy and I." I laughed.
"So he didn't stay in here last night?" Monty questioned.
"Well…" I started, trying to think of how to further explain the situation so they would believe it's nothing unusual. "He just sleeps here. I don't know. We don't do anything. It's not like that."
"So, one of you sleeps on the couch and the other on the bed?" Monty asked, finally noticing the extra pillow and blanket lying on the couch.
"For the most part, yeah." Oh no, why did I say that. Man it's just too hard to lie to these two knuckle-heads.
"For the most part?" Monty raised his eyebrows at me and him and Jasper gave me an older brother over protective questioning stare.
"Yeah-" Before I even had a chance to think about what to say next Bellamy reentered the room. Saved by the Bell.
"Oh—um- Hey guys. What are you guys doing in here?" He asked awkwardly, realizing they must have figured out about our sleeping arrangements.
"Just catching up with our old friend, Clarke. We were just leaving." Jasper told him while Monty whispered to me: "You're telling us everything later.
The two of them rushed out of the room with smiles on their faces and Jasper winked at me before shutting the door and before I could tell them there was nothing to talk about.
Chapter Seven! I hope you liked it! Keep reading and reviewing (the reviews are my favourite part, I love knowing what you are all thinking about this story).
