Jason looked at the camera footage near the warehouse and smirked at the sight of Batman searching the area. His amusement turned to sadness when he saw Batgirl. He may have been bloodthirsty and out for revenge but that didn't change the fact that he missed his old friend. Barbara had been there for him when no one else was. He looked up when Jessica walked in with one of her devious smirks upon her lips.
"What do you want, Jess?" He asked, impatiently. Jessica just winked at him as she walked over to her laptop in the corner of the room. She was obviously up to no good.
"I sedated the kid." She said, typing away. "He's not going to wake up for another two hours."
"Okay, what's going on?" He demanded. Jessica just looked up at him with her cocky expression and started typing again.
"I just want to have a little fun with the pimps in Warehouse 55." She said, simply. Jason sighed.
"Fine but try to stay focused." He said. "We still have a job to do."
"Relax Jay." Jessica scoffed. "It's not like I'm going to turn these idiots into bat food."
Jason watched the footage while he listened to Jessica bark orders to the drug dealers who were patrolling in Warehouse 55.
"I want 55 protected well. Do not let anyone in or out! You understand?!"
Jason knew he would have a headache by the time Batman finally reaches the warehouse. Jessica was a great partner and all but she was so damn annoying! While she gave orders to the henchmen he knew Batman would eventually get them all and take the next step of the plan.
Meanwhile, Batman and Batgirl were watching the patrolling henchmen of the Red Hood in Warehouse 55 from the roof. While they patrolled Reaper's voice rang through the speakers and gave them orders.
"I want 55 protected well. Do not let anyone in or out! You understand?!"
"There are ten of them down there." Batman said. "We need to pick them off silently if we want to properly search this area without being seen."
"Okay. Got it." Batgirl said before jumping down onto one of the ceiling beams. She watched Batman as he knocked one of the henchmen out and hid. Batgirl searched the room for a perfect place to strike when Reaper spoke through the speakers again.
"I'm sure there used to be more of you down there."
"The Bat's here! Spread out and find him!" A henchman ordered. Just then, Reaper decided to speak again.
"Oh, err, is someone missing? I keep losing count."
Reaper laughed her head off when she saw Batman take out another pimp in the warehouse.
"Three down!" She cheered before turning her voice dark and threatening. "Not happy, boys."
"Jess! Will you stop fooling around already?" Jason yelled.
"Why don't you take a chill pill?" Jessica snapped back before looking back at the screen. "He's taken one of you out! And not in a nice first date kind of way."
"Jess! Get in here." Jason called. Jessica sighed before barking one last time into the speaker.
"Did you knuckleheads even read the contract? You do as Red Hood and I say or you will pay the price!"
"Jess!" Jason shouted.
"Get that pole out of your ass I'm coming!" Jessica shouted, logging off.
All the henchmen in Warehouse 55 were unconscious on the floor while Batman and Batgirl searched the place. Batman found a laptop in the manager's office and turned it on. Reaper then appeared on the screen.
"You having a bit of trouble up there?" She asked in her fake sympathetic voice.
"There's no escape, Reaper." Batman growled. "I will find you and your leader."
"Oh save your breath, Bats." Reaper said. "I'm very much safe."
"Where's Richard?" Batman demanded.
"Alright listen, no more tricks." Reaper said, turning serious. "Just two more puzzles and you can have the kid. Go straight to the place where you first met this guy."
Reaper held up a picture of a boy about sixteen with black hair and green eyes that were glinting with mischief. Batgirl's breath hitched and pain tugged at her chest. The boy in the picture was her best friend. Jason Todd.
"Bye now!" Reaper chirped before signing off. Batman walked off and Batgirl followed. How was her dead friend tied into this? Batgirl's pain and confusion turned into anger. If Batman didn't catch the Red Hood and Reaper, she will.
"Hey Red, we have trouble." Reaper announced a few minutes after their talk with Batman. Jason rolled his eyes.
"What is it this time?" He asked, irritably. Reaper was typing away on her laptop and four pictures appeared on the screen.
"Black Mask ain't happy about his men turning on him so he put a bounty on your head." She explained. "The one who kills you will get a ten million dollar prize."
"Crap."
"Yep."
Suddenly, the screen switched to a map of Gotham City and there was a disturbance near a casino. Black Mask's men had terrorized the traitors.
"Let's go, Jess." Red Hood demanded, heading for the door. Reaper let out her ghostly cackle before disappearing into the shadows.
This shouldn't take long. She thought to herself.
