Hey there! Please don't shoot! *Raises hands and ducks* I know, it's been freaking forever. But, in my defense, school got crazy and so was my summer! And, I am a junior now, so I am allowed to postpone adding chapters every now and then. But please bare with me! Anyways, I'll update on my birthday, or sometime before, and I will try to spit out a new chapter or two weekly, but don't read too much into that promise, okay? Anyways, I hope you enjoy the story!

DISCLAIMER! I do not own Pokemon. That belongs to the original owners. If I did, I would be playing X and Y before it came out. ~:3 Enjoy~!

We decided to stay one more night in Pewter City, before heading out to Cerulean. We were all exhausted, and we still needed to stock up on some items. Misty headed out to the store to get some Pokémon food, Brock headed out to buy some Potions and berries, and I went back to the hotel room, taking time to give Pikachu a bath. I have to admit, I think he liked it a lot more than I thought he would. When the others came back, we went to the dining room to get dinner.

"You know," Misty started. "I really am going to miss this place." She took another bite of her food, and moaned a bit. "The only reason is going to be this wonderful food! I love this food!" She took a huge bite of her chicken casserole thing and lightly squealed in delight. I chuckled and then Brock went off about how they have the best food in the Kanto region right here. I was chuckling silently to myself, and then let my Buddy have a few bites of my food. He let out a small noise of content and rubbed up against my cheek while I scratched him behind the ear.

"Yeah, Brock?" I cut him off as he was ranting about their Mac n' cheese. He looked at me, sort of, (Seriously, I can't even tell because his eyes are almost shut!) and stopped talking. "I think we should hit the hay; we have a long day ahead of us." He chuckled and looked over at Misty, who was yawning and rubbing her stomach.

"Yeah, that is a good idea. Misty looks like she will pass out and I'm a bit tired as well." He checked his watch for a second, and then stood up, pulling Misty's chair out. "Come on, Misty, it's time for bed now, okay?" She stood up and nodded, rubbing her eyes. I walked over to her, and looked at her.

"Can you walk, Mist? You aren't looking too good right now." She shook her head, and placed an arm on my shoulder. I placed a hand on her head, and she felt really warm. "Mist, you're burning up! Here, hold on to my neck, I'm gonna carry you upstairs. Pikachu, you're gonna either have to stay on my head or walk beside me, okay buddy?" He sat down on my head and I picked Misty up, holding her bridal-style. I feel her arms tighten around my neck. She was a lot lighter than I thought she'd be. I walked over to the elevator, called it down, and then leaned against the wall while I waited. She tapped me and signaled for me to get closer.

"Thanks, Red, for helping me. I'm sorry, I'm holding us back." She looked as if she was on the verge of tears, but I shook my head, smiling down at her.

"Mist, you know that you are never a burden. Everyone gets sick, and all you need is some TLC and my mom's home-made chicken soup. So don't apologize, it's okay. I'll help you get better, okay?" I looked down at her, and she smiles, wiping her eyes and nodding. She closed her eyes and was breathing evenly, looking peaceful. Brock came over and tapped my arm, pointing to the elevator, which had finally come down. I stepped inside and hit the button labeled three. It went up pretty fast, and we walked into the room.

I set Misty down on her bed, laying her down on her back. I pull her shoes off and take the pony out of her hair, letting it down. I pull off her jacket and grab the covers, pulling them up to her chin. She lets out a small sigh, nuzzles her head into the pillow, and then settles down. I smile, look down at her, and push her bangs out of her face.

"That should take care of her." I said, quietly. I turned towards Brock, while putting my coat on. "I'm going to head down to the store and pick up some medicine for her, okay? Keep an eye on her for me, please." He put a hand on my shoulder, stopping me, and shaking his head.

"No, I'll go. There are some weird people at night, and seeing how young you are, who knows what they'll do? No, I'll go and get the medicine for her. You stay here with her. If she wakes up, she'll want to see a familiar face. Put a cold wash cloth over her forehead to keep the fever down." I nod and pull off my coat, tossing it on the chair and kicking off my shoes. He grabs his jacket, wallet, and slips on his shoes, nods to me and walks out the door. I lock the door after him and go to the bathroom.

I find a wash cloth and get it wet with cold water. I wring it out, trying to get it as dry as I can, and then walk over to her bed. I see Pikachu lying next to her, as I silently question how he got there in the first place, when I didn't even remember him coming off of my shoulders. He nuzzles her cheek, I later find out that is his way of showing affection, and then settles down next to her. I place the cloth across her head, and hear a sigh of content come from her. I walk over to the kitchen, look into the cabinet above the stove, and notice cans of soup. Oh Misty, I thought. Always thinking ahead, even when we aren't paying attention. I pull out a pot from a small pantry beside the stove and open up the soup, pouring it in the pot to heat it up for her.

Brock comes in about ten minutes later, holding the bag out to me. Then he heads into the bathroom and brings out a new wash cloth, swapping it for the old one and then put the old one back into the bathroom. He walks over to me, and starts talking, while taking over the job of heating up the soup.

"So how is she holding up?" he asks, genuine concern written on his face.

"Misty is okay for now, but as soon as she is up, I am going to give her some soup. The fever hasn't risen, so that's good news, but I still can't help but worry." I look over at Misty, wanting to ask her how she is. She grimaces slightly, then relaxes as if it never happened. I breathe out a bit loudly, looking over at Brock. He had done the same thing. We looked at each other and chuckled.

"Well, on the bright side, at least we are on the same page." I said, looking over at Misty again. She shifts in ther sleep and then lays still again. I breathe out quietly, hoping I am not going to wake her.

"Yeah," Brock starts. "We are. Now I don't know about you, but I am beat. How about we get some sleep and then we see how she is holding up in the morning?" He looks over at the clock and yawns, causing me to yawn as well.

"That's a great plan. Night, Brock. Sleep well." I walk over to the couch in the room and lay down.

"Good night, Red." I barely feel Pikachu climb onto the couch and lay down next to me before falling asleep.

-.:^_^:.-

I wake up the next morning to Misty shaking me awake. She looked fine and didn't appear to have a fever of any sort.

"Good morning, sleepy head." She smiled at me and giggled. "Nice bed-head."

"Ha ha, very funny, Mist." I yawn and stretch, hearing a ton of stuff pop in my back. "How do you feel?" I ask her, putting my hand up to feel her forehead. It was nice and cool, as I thought it would be.

"Yep! The medicine Brock got me is amazing! It truly works! I am so thankful for what you guys have done for me. Thank you so much." She said, looking at me with the sweetest smile ever. I blushed a little, and turned my head so she couldn't see. I mumbled something along the lines of "My pleasure" and she giggled again and walked off.

"Oh, and by the way, we are leaving today, so get your stuff ready! We are headed off to Cerulean City!" I smiled and gathered my things, shoving them all in a bag.

I looked down at Pikachu, and smiled wide. "You ready, buddy?" I asked. His reply was an enthusiastic "Pika!" and with that, I slung my bag and Pikachu onto my shoulder, following Misty and Brock out the door. This next city was going to be wonderful.
