Hey guys! Don't kill me! I'm on break for about a week, so time to get writing! I read some comments of confusion, and I apologize for that, but I won't reveal anything, as I have no ideas of direction for the story yet, as it is still developing.
On another note, Thank You all for the wonderful reviews! They make me smile.
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, because if I did, Severus would be all mine ;)
Voices hazed throughout the room as she came to. Hermione's head swiveled on the fluffy pillow that laid beneath her head as she tried to decifer whose voice belonged to who. "You did nothing! She was gone for so long, and you all stood there!" A deeper voice followed the shrill feminine voice. "Would would you have us do? You children seem to be follwed by danger at every turn!" This person's voice was filled with poison and disdain. "Please stop!" She couldn't take anymore and sat up.
Those who filled the room stared at the ill girl who seemed about to collapse. "Miss Granger, you must rest," the Hogwarts nurse was frantic over her young patient. Hermione merely sat back on the hospital cot and glared at the Potion's Master who had been speaking before. Ginny was at her side, and seemed to have been the other voice. "How did I get here? All I remember was running in the forest, and then everything was cold." Her thirst for knowledge had never been about herself, but curiosity was in her nature. "We found you outside, 'Mione," her best girl-friend was in near tears as she spoke. "Yes," Snape snarled. "Those dunderheaded friends of yours led the giant outside to search for you in the forest, and found you. The question should be, however, is how you got there." Tawny eyes glared into onyx in a battle of wills.
"She's awake!" Their match was broken at the presence of her other two best friends. Ron practically shoved his sister aside as he went to her left side. Harry joined her at her right. "We've been so worried! Those other Aurors were useless in finding you. Where have you been?" Their questions were stopped as Madam Pomfrey had entered the room once again and shrieked, "Enough, children. Miss Granger needs to rest. There will be time for questions in the morning." Young heads fell in despair as they were forced from the hospital wing.
While all of this occured, a scream rang throughout The Forbidden Forest, but fell on deaf ears. Nami was filled with fear as her Alpha stalked toward her, his mate's wand in hand. "You let her GO!" Fenrir was snarling for her head to be wretched from her shoulders. The young beauty had always been too brazen, and she had finally crossed a forbidden line. "Tarnu, lock her in the cage." His Beta brought Nami into the silver cage used for punishments. That was the last night of the full moon, and the bitch would feel the full pain of the silver as she shed her human form. "She will not feed until the morrow." Power laced his words, and his Pack bowed in submission to their Alpha.
His beast was raging inside of him. He had to find his bitch, no matter the consequences. Pearl fangs glimmered in the light of the full moon, as his transformation overtook his body, and with that Fenrir was no more. His beast was in control.
She gasped in fear as the howl sounded in the night. Fear shook her body from the surrender of sleep, as her 'mate' called for her. She wanted to go to him, but her body and mind protested. Hermione's instincts tied her to the beast that had captured her. Tiny feet softly hit the cold bricks of the hospital room as she tried to escape. Quietly as to not alert the nurse, Hermione slowly made her way into the corridor. "Need to get out of here," she muttered.
The walls were dark and her vision blurred from the lack of light, but her feet led her to the place she needed to be. She sought comfort from her sister of heart. With sleep drowned eyes Hermione looked at the painting that blocked her path. "Golden lions," she whispered to the seemingly sleeping picture. The tired girl led herself to the Girl's dormitory, where she knew she'd find Ginny. "Gin, move over," Hermione whispered.
The two girls woke to the other girls shuffling off of their beds sleepily. Ginny whispered lightly to her sister. "How did you get there, Hermione?" Her whispers fell on deaf ears, as Hermione was too exhausted to comprehend her question. The red haired girl shrugged on her jumper over her uniform and handed the other girl a change of clothes. "Get ready so we can go to breakfast. You look like you haven't eaten in ages." The older witch dressed and joined her sister.
Everyone was relieved to see Hermione at breakfast. Harry and Ron had returned to the school in hopes of spending time with their friend. The Headmistress sat before her students with a twinkle in her eye that resembled that of the former Headmaster. "Students, I welcome you all this morning, as I see one of our beloved students has returned to us. Welcome back, Hermione Granger." With a wave of her wand, the feast had begun.
She was being smothered, when she wanted to hide away. A pain filled her chest, as she was away from the deadly werewolf. While she was happy to have escaped, she wondered about those of the Pack. The faces of the smiling children, the strong men that ran the camps, and the singing of the young women came to mind. Hermione was lost in thought, and her friends had noticed. Ron was tired of her silence. "How did you get there, Hermione?" His Auror training skills were kicked in when her eyes widened in fear. Harry noted her pause as well. "We need to talk.
The three friends ventured out of the castle that was their home for so long, and walked silently toward the black lake. Hermione shook slightly from the fear of Fenrir finding her, but the two boys thought it was the cold. Sending a warming charm her way, Harry spoke. "You need to tell us, 'Mione," his eyes held fear for her. "We all were worried sick!" Hermione told them of her kidnapping, but held the information of her being his mate. "I had to get away from there. I had to get back to Hogwarts, but I still don't have my wand." The boys hugged her tightly and tried to give her their strength, but she could hear him growling from a distance. With a cry of fear, she ran from the lake into the safety of the castle. "He can't get me." Oh how wrong she was. She just didn't know it yet.
