'Again with the directions! Uh, at least the directions are comprehendible.' I thought to myself as I once again began to move around the hallways of Tokiwadai. Following the directions, it was unavoidable that I would run into a few girls, but the way they looked at me with blushes and judging stares made me nonetheless very flustered and embarrassed. I normally notice one or two girls blushing when I am around so I got use to it when I went to school with Asuna. But, when faced with at least 200 girls that only blushed or judged me really made me embarrassed and being embarrassed is one of my only weaknesses.

'I really wish Asuna was here to accompany me, so the girls would stop giving me those looks.' I thought sadily as I quickened my pace to reach my destination.

Reaching my destination, I slowly opened a door to reveal nothing but darkness. 'Wait am I at the right place' I then returned to the door to make sure I had followed the directions correctly. 'Well, this is a good time to test some of my skills from SAO.' I thought as I turned on my night vision. As my eyes suddenly switched to night vision I saw what looked like 3 crossbows pointing at me from 3 different angles. 'Crap!' I jumped to the left as all 3 crossbow's arrows hit the wall directly behind the area I was previously standing. Crouching on the ground I opened my main menu screen and scrolled down to equipment. I then quickly equipped my Elucidator and proceeded to slowly pace through the open area on guard. After, doing a quick search of the immediate area I proceeded to cut the strings of all the crossbows to only find that they had no string but only barrels of rifles big enough to fit an arrow in. 'Wait if there is no string then they must have used air or some other propellant, but I see no air canisters or any marks of a propellant? How did they do it?' I ended my thought in confusion.

The lights suddenly turned on and revealed, what I thought was an empty space, but actually an array of equipment, scientists, and 1 Tokiwadai student. The scientists began to talk amongst themselves and gather all the information that came as a result of my little 'dodge'. I just stood there dumbfounded as how I did not notice this many people and equipment in the darkness. 'Wait! Shouldn't my Night Vision skill be fully mastered…' I opened my main menu and staring at my skills I noticed it was only 908/1000. 'Oh that's right the death game finished before I mastered Night Vision…' As they worked I noticed 2 familiar faces were among the crowd of scientists that came to watch what I could do, Kanmi and Kusakabe. When I noticed both of them Kanmi gave a bright, innocent smile while Kusakabe gave small, but kind smile. Kusakabe walked up to me and said,

"It has been a while Kirigaya-san, it is good to see you are in good health."

"You as well Kusakabe-sama." I said while sweating because seconds ago I had 3 arrows shot at me without early notice and she did not seem to care.

"Now, before we get down to business… Kongou-chan you can now leave."

"Wait! How did you fire the arrows without using any propellant!" I shouted at her and then began to mentally curse myself. 'Don't let random stuff just spill out of your mouth! Think first Kazuto!'

She then turned to me and put her right hand on her hip and said, "How did you come to that conclusion? I could have just been here to also observe."

"Why else would they have to involve a student in my own system scan? I don't believe they would really let a student see this."

"What? Why wouldn't they let anyone see your esp…"

'Crap I said too much.'

Kusakabe coughed and was about to explain, but was cut of by Kongou. "Well, anyway if you really want to know then let me at least introduce who I am." The girl Kongou then took out a fan and covered part of her face. "I am Kongou Mitsuko of Tokiwadai and am a Level 4 with the ability Aero hand."

My sweat began to drop, 'She really acts like she is the queen of the world or something.'

"Um, Kongou-san can you stop it with the condescending tone."

At the bluntness of my remark she blushed a little, but quickly covered it up with her fan. "A-a-anyway you now know who you are talking too?"

"Yes, I know and can you expand on this Aero hand ability" I said while using my fingers to make quotation marks around the (Aero Hand).

"Hmpf, fine I will tell a lowly life like you," 'There she goes again' "Aero hand is the ability to move objects through the air using your hands."

"Hmmm that sounds cool so you concentrated the air to fire the arrows at me… But, that doesn't explain how you managed to fire 3 at once."

Kongou smirked and placed her right hand on her chest and said in a condescending tone, "Well, since I am level 4 esper I can create multiple points where air is ejected. Also my ability allows me to create ejection points."

"Oh, so your ability is like strapping a rocket engine to the end of an object and launching it right?"

"That is correct." She said while waving the fan in front of her face.

"That is a nice power you have." I replied while smiling.

Kongou all of sudden had her face light up like a Christmas tree and she tried her best to cover up with her fan, but to no avail.

"I-I-I will t-t-take my leave now!" She said quickly as she speed walked out of the gym.

"What did I do wrong?" I said and at that comment Kasukabe facepalmed and mumbled something like are you dense.

Meanwhile in the Hallway

"huh…huh…huh…huh." As I breathed heavily after running away from the gym I couldn't help, but blush at the boys comment.

{"That is a nice power you have."}

No one has ever said anything nice about my power aside from my servants let alone a boy! 'No, Kongou you will not be happy because of a simple boy's comment.' My inner ojou-sama shouted at me, but my current mindset did allow my ojou-sama to take over.

'I hope I get to meet him again. No! No! Someone like me can't meet a boy like him…' I thought as I walked down the hallway blushing, creeping out the girls who I came across.

Back in the Gym

"Now that she is gone, lets continue with your testing." Kusakabe said while writing on a clipboard. My sweat began to drop at the thought of other life or death 'safe' tests.

"What are we going to be doing…?" I said hoping they wouldn't have some hidden floor boss hidden under the gym.

"Well, since you performed excellently in the first test we are going to down scale the next test. You just have to take your throwing picks and throw them down range at the targets."

"Ok, that sounds easy." I silently, and less than the blink of eye, fully equipped myself and reached behind my back for my throwing picks. My targets were targets you would use at a firing range with gun, the torso of a human body, and they were spaced approximately 10 Ft, 30Ft, 50 Ft, and 80 Ft away from me.

"Now you will have to hit all the targets with as much as accuracy possible. We will be testing to see how fast you throw your picks and how accurate they are."

[Kirigaya Kazuto, get ready!] Said the automated announcement system.

'Cool they got an announcement system, and it reminds me of NPC's back in SAO in the beta… How long has been since then…' I thought to myself as I began to get lost deep thought.

[Go!]

'Crap! I got lost in my thoughts again.' I thought as I fumbled to try to throw my picks. I activated my skill Blade Throwing and threw it as accurately as possible at the 10 Ft target and it hit spot on the area I wanted to hit. The thud the target made when hit was very satisfying to my ears and a something interesting was that the speed of my pick surprised me, I estimated it flew maybe at 300 meters per second. That speed was unimaginable to be thrown by a machine let alone a human's arm.

'SAO skills translated to real life are really powerful! I can't actually believe I was throwing at that speed in SAO!' I screamed in my mind.

I then threw my next pick at the 30Ft target and once again it dug into the target right on the mark. My third target was beginning to push the range I knew I could throw my pick because when I caught the Ragout Rabbit back in SAO, I threw my pick from maybe a little less than 50 Ft away. I took a chance and threw my pick using my skill and it did not falter in speed to hit its target.

'Hmm, so at least I know that the range of my skill is still effective. But, now I am entering my blind zone. My blade throwing skill was nearly mastered so it should be quite powerful, but I never really tested the range of the skill, so I don't know if I can hit the 80 Ft target. Well here goes nothing!'

I activated my blade throwing skill and threw at the target. There was no thud or satisfying sound of wood being broken, but the sound of polygons shattering. I stared wordlessly as the polygons floated up into the sky before disappearing.

'Wait! Wait! Wait! Once they reach their maximum range they just shatter!?'

[Kirigaya Kazuto, 94.8% accuracy on targets hit, 4 out of 5 targets, Time: 8 seconds. Level classification: undetermined]

"Hmm, that was a little disappointing. I was expecting you to hit all the targets. But, who could have predicted that your picks would shatter after reaching their maximum range of your skill." Kusakabe said in her usual serious monotone voice while Kanmi started to review the footage of what happened.

"Kirigaya-san come here, I need to show you what happened." Kanmi said while motioning for me to come closer to a monitor.

As I watched the slow motion, it was just as it appeared, the pick shattered into polygons and disappeared. The distance it shattered was at exactly 70 Ft and it left no trace.

'Well at least this is perfect if I really want to scare someone.' I thought menacingly.

"Actually Kirigaya-san, in all honesty we expected the pick to shatter at that distance." Kanmi whispered to me while, pulling out a suitcase.

"Why did you predict that?" I replied in a questioning tone.

"Well, since we are in the real world you have realize the amount of stress a material can take before it shatters, this was something you never had to account for in SAO. The closest thing you had to this is SAO was durability but, that cannot perfectly emulate the real life effect of a material under stress. In reality, most swords after a few good hits would be rendered useless and cannot be repaired. Your picks were made of stainless steel and they shattered after only 70 Ft just as we predicted." Kanmi said in a matter of fact tone, while she started to open the briefcase to reveal new throwing picks.

"These throwing picks are made of custom reinforced nanomaterial, which we predicted have an effective range of up to 1000 Ft. Nonetheless the distance it can be thrown is based off the maximum range of your skill."

"That is amazing! Why didn't you show this too me before?! I could have thrown my pick much farther with these new nano-picks!"

"Well, just like it name implies its custom made, and the current process takes around 5 days to make 10 throwing picks and at the time of you coming in for your Power Curriculum program we were not sure it could be completed. This is not even mentioning that each NL Throwing Pick or Nano Long range Throwing pick is around $250 US dollars each." Kanmi said while handing me 10 NL Picks.

"What aren't these picks too precious to be used! I can't possibly use picks that cost $250 dollars each, that is too expensive for me to use!"

"Don't worry about the cost, the military can fire a single rocket and that rocket can cost $80,000 US dollars. But, what worries us is the amount of NL Picks we can produce, that is why we advise you to only use in long range situations."

Some sweat dripped down the back of my head as I thought, 'There is a big difference between a computer-guided rocket and a simple throwing pick. Well, looks like I am going to be really only able to use these picks in emergency situations and even in those situation use them sparely.'

I picked up the NL picks and stored 5 of them in my inventory and the other 5 on my belt. They actually surprisingly were quite heavy, just the way I like my items to be. I showed my surprise expression on my face and Kusakabe seemed to pick up on it.

"You probably thought that nanomaterial was actually very light didn't you? Well in reality it is actually really light, but we coated the NL picks in a very dense nanomaterial because we saw how heavy some of your equipment is."

Kanmi then said to me, "Well, Kirigaya-san now we are going to continue on to your strength level and agility."

I groaned as I continued with my relentless system scan. In the strength test I managed to lift almost half a ton and kinda scared some of the scientist because when I was carrying the half-ton worth weights, I tripped towards them. But, I still achieved the weight maximum amount of weight I could carry as predicted. In the agility test I sprinted at 200 MPH over a distance of only 10 meters starting at a stand still and went from 0-100 in less than 0.20 seconds. Somehow once again, they predicted that I would go at 200 MPH over the 10 meter distance.

'Wow, Academy City must have some sort of super computers or programs that can predict all the data for my system scan.' The thought of supercomputer making predictions for my test made my inner tech side appear.

"Well, Kirigaya-san that concludes this section of the system scan. But, now we are going to do combat simulation system scan." Kusakabe said while walking up to me after my agility test.

"That sounds easy enough, where is it?" I replied while, looking around the gym for it.

"No, it's not going to be in here. It's going to be outside on the track field in front of the entire Tokiwadai student body."

"EHHH! Why! Aren't my abilities suppose to be kept on the down low!" 'Also, I can't keep my composure up too long in front of an entire school body of high leveled espers, not that they really mean much to me.'

"Well sort of but, the track field is the only place large enough for the test." Kanmi said while forcing a smile.

I don't know why but, I have a feeling that Aleister is purposely putting in me in public like a debut for me.

1 Hour Later

Boom! A loud boom echoed around Tokiwadai as the ground shook with the power of an earthquake for the 5th time today as I almost fell down.

'Geez, what is going on! Is it an earthquake? No, the sound is too big… its more like an explosion.' As I carefully steadied myself after the ground shook I refocused on the track field.

'Ok, its official I am really going to lose my composure. There are maybe what… 200 students out there? At least I have my hiding skill at the moment.' From my point of view I was right near the edge of the track field, but my hiding skill, which was mastered made me hidden from everyone even out in the open. Also, my Blackwyrm coat had bonus Hid stats, which made me even harder to see.

'Well, hiding works well in real life because no one has a searching skill like ingame. I wonder if someone has the ability to sense me somehow.'

The track field in front of me was littered with targets, logs, and what looked like a forest at the end. The student body was on the bleachers to the right of the field and looked preoccupied talking amongst themselves. I later learned that everyone has to remain outside the school until all system scans were done. I still counted as a part of the system scan so they were forced to wait outside much to my chagrin.

'Well this is just great! I was told some vague instructions that I have to destroy everything on the field as fast as possible until I reach the other end of the track field.' I thought as I sighed.

[Kirigaya Kazuto, Level 0 approach the start line]

I switched on the fighting mode mind of myself and walked to the beginning of the track field with slow calculated steps. I pretended not to notice any of the students as I began to derive a path through all the targets.

[Kirigaya-san, get ready]

I pulled my Elucidator and got into the same stance I normally use for a duel with single sword, down and low.

[GO!]

I quickly acquired my first target and activated Sonic Leap, which cut through the target like a hot knife through butter. I repeated the same skill a few times before changing to Horizontal and pushing my sprint skill to its limit. The next group targets were logs that were standing vertically and they were thick.

'Damn it, I can't use Sonic Leap here and its too thick to use Horizontal… maybe Horizontal Square will do the trick.'

I activated the skill and proceeded to slash the log going in a clockwise action. My first strike was a simple horizontal and the same thing was for second hit. The third hit was Horizontal with a spin added in and the final hit was at a slant upwards. I than saw the sky blue rhombus as it lingered in the air and smiled a little as I had executed the it quite well for not doing for maybe a year. The sound of the upper part of the tree, which had been cleanly cut off, hitting the ground could be heard across the field. As I stayed still for 2 seconds because of the cool down I found my next target which was less than 10 Ft. away. After my cool down ended I sprinted at full speed and activated Horizontal Square again and flawlessly accomplished it. I finished off the remaining 2 trees with my Horizontal Square and moved toward the new human targets and cut them up easily. These poor human targets threw body parts ever where over emphasizing the amount of damage I could cause. After dispatching the targets, I waited for my next orders.

[Defeat the Robot in any way possible.]

The Robot that was in the middle of forest of logs had a strange resemblance to 1st floor boss, Illfang the Kobold Lord. It was maybe 15 feet tall and had a weapon similar to the Nodachi. I couldn't help my self but smile at the challenge of defeating something like a floor boss.

'Now how to defeat this mimic of the 1st floor boss.' I thought as sprinted head on at the Robot.

The Robot did a simple swing downwards at me and I just increase my speed and ducked under the sword. 'Too slow now to use slant…. What!' As I activated my slant and tried to slash the Robots stomach it was able to move its left arm in the way of my slant and absorb the attack. The Robot than did a horizontal slash at me and I was forced to put some distance between the both of us.

'Might as well try to do Vertical Square, that might create an opening for me to use higher multiple hit skills.' I thought as I activated Vertical Square with very little issues.

Moving as fast as I could I did the first slash the robot's stomach so fast it couldn't even react in time to block or counter. As I moved to the other side of the robot, it swung its sword, which performed a clean, cut on my left arm, which spilled blood all over the ground.

'Damn it! In real life there is not such thing as pain absorber! In that case I can't afford to take another hit! I need to go faster!' I thought while grunting to complete the second strike of Vertical Square.

My third strike because of my bad arm, I decided to add in a spin because I didn't have system assist actually on, but nonetheless the system still recognized my hit as the third hit in the sequence to my joy. For the last strike, an upper cut, I was forced to add a back flip because of the Robot's horizontal slash. I finished Vertical Square and allowed a large smile to appear on my face as the sound of metal being shredded and a light blue square lingered in the air.

'Ha! That would tear that Robot in half…' My thoughts were halted by shock as the robot still stood there with most of its torso cut 2 Ft deep around its entire circumference.

'Well at least now is my chance! It can't move its feet so I can easily outmaneuver it.' The finish of my cool down marked the start of my extremely offensive attack. I slash the robots arms in order to damage the arms enough or overload its processors into failing. Slash up, stab, horizontal, vertical, down low attack. 'I need to go faster!' I shouted in my mind as I increased my attack speed to try to cause the Robot to falter and fall. The Robot than did the unexpected, with a reaction time only a computer could achieve it moved its sword and made a stab at me and I was forced to block with my sword.

'Damn it! I am now open to attack!' I thought as the Robot started its vertical downward slash.

The Elucidator moved forward and made contact with the Robot's broad sword as the Robot's sword was 3 inches away from my face. The downward force of the Robot's slash had forced up much of the dirt in the area and created a cloud of dust, which blocked all vision. The Robot then applied all the force it could must as I struggled to hold up its broad sword.

'I am going to lose at this rate. First, I need to back off than I need to increase my visibility.'

I ran forward to the let the sword hit the ground and as the Robot tried to pull it out of the ground, I did a full force slash through the air to blow away the dust. When the dust cleared, the robot seemed to come at me again with a horizontal slash.

'I had enough of this! Time to end this now!'

I activated Howling Octave, which made my sword turn orange and went into my deadly string of attacks. The first part of sword skill were 5 stabs, each time I stab at the robot my Elucidator into the robot it tore out wires, circuit boards, and insulation, littering the ground with them. Than, moving my blade so fast it could not react, I slashed downward and created a rip that formed from top to bottom. The next move of Howling Octave made me do a cut upward which widened the downward cut's hole.

"AAAHHHH!" I screamed while, performing the final part of Howling Octave, an powerful upper cut that threw the robot in the air.

As the robot landed it split in two and threw electronic equipment everywhere, I stood in my cool down position and admired my move.

'Hmm, I still can perform my most powerful one-handed sword skill without system assist…but it still needs more practice, well now I really have a lot of reasons to log onto ALO.'

After doing my customary sword swing before sheathing my sword I heard the sound of clapping and cheering come from around me. I was suddenly brought back to reality as my mind started to lose its combat state and fall back into an embarrassed, flustered state. Meekly scratching my cheek the students at Tokiwadai continued their round of applause and cheers, as they seemed to really have enjoyed my 'performance'. Their cheers began to quiet down as the system announcement system began to turn on.

[Kirigaya Kazuto, Course Time: 3 Minutes and 34 Seconds, Course Completion: 100%, New Record, Level Classification: Level 2]

All of a sudden the crowd quieted down and they all stared at me in way I swore I had seen a few hour ago.

"WHAT!"

I am sorry for the late chapter, school had a lot of tests before Christmas, but here it is I hope you enjoyed! Hopeful next week I will have a new chapter! I may have some ALO action in some upcoming chapters.
