I'm back, with a chapter! Whoop, whoop! Hopefully the wait wasn't too long and everything in your life is going good. Mine is great, though I wish it was Thanksgiving already. I'm ready for a break.

Any who, I was happy to receive some feedback from last chapter and am glad that people like this so much. I would say more, but I know all of you are ready to get on with the chapter so here it is.

Warning though: I'm introducing a character that is not an OC. She's actually from another DreamWorks film and I'll explain her at the end.

Disclaimer: I do not own Rise of the Guardians or the Guardians of Childhood. The movie belongs to DreamWorks and the books belong to William Joyce. This is a work of fiction so any relation to real person, events, yadayada is coincidental.

"… And now we move over to the weather," an announcer finished, their image shifting over to a man in a casual suit standing in front of a world map. "Thank you. Now for those of you that have been outside in the last few hours, you might have noticed some out of season weather patterns." He started, gesturing to the map behind him.

"The most series weather patterns seem to be up in the Arctic North, where the wind seems to be circling here before moving on." The screen zoomed in on an area that showed a bunch of blue arrows circling around each other before heading south.

"If we follow this path," he pointed to an arrow heading to North America, "the wind seems to be heading to this area here. Strangely, most of the trees and vegetation in this area have suddenly withered up and just fallen over. Scientists in the area are contributing this to the sudden north wind blowing down, bringing in off-season cold temperatures, along with excess nitrogen run off." A clip flashed on screen of blackened and dead trees that laid on top of decayed grass. The clip cut off and the man's face appeared again, pointing to another arrow.

"This one, as you can see, headed almost straight south to the coast of Northern Africa. Luckily it's far enough that no building or anything were damaged, but before this wind headed down, the area suddenly experienced a rapid heat flash with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature was so hot and sudden that satellites in the area nearly short-circuited so we have no images of this area at this time." The screen zoomed in on the area he was pointing at, revealing a blue arrow cutting in the center of a series of red arrows. In the background, the color of the water near the areas were in red, a sign that the temperature was abnormal for the area at the time, while the rest stayed a normal blue. Looking closely, the viewer could see a small area of red that made a thin, red trail to the larger red area. "So far, the marine life has not appeared to be greatly disturbed, but scientists are keeping a close eye on them to make sure. There is some change from the normal pattern of the water currents, but that is being attributed to the change in the moon's position and manmade water barriers."

The screen followed the third blue arrow to a remote area in Brazil. "Our last concern is this area right here. Normally, any cold winds that make it here usually come in from the south and get pushed back by these warmer winds, but this one from the north has held out enough to make it here." The radar zoomed in where the man was pointing his finger. "Like the other areas, this one has just experienced a strange phenomenon. Satellites have picked up on an excess of growth that happened too quickly to be considered normal. Remote locals along with local area specialist, J. Bennett, are claiming that this was caused by forest spirits, but many scientist are saying that it's probably a natural phenomenon that only happens once every four or five hundred years or so.

"However, some are saying that these events are linked to strange patterns that happened earlier today. For those of you just hearing about it," he continued as the screen zoomed back out to the whole map. Four location in Antarctica, an area off the coast of Florida, in a dessert, and in a rainforest had thin red circles around them. "There are have been strange readings coming from these four places. If we time lapse them," the computer simulated red dots that converged somewhere by in the Atlantic Ocean close a group of coastal island. "We can see that they converge here and then move off to where we're noticing the strange patterns we just talked about. Do these occurrences have any connection to one another and is there some global weather danger that we should be concerned about? As of now, these incidents are still being investigated, but it has been concluded that we're not in any immediate danger. Now let's move back to-"

One of the yetis cut off the screen before the image could switch, crunching its eyebrows in concern as it looked at a couple other yetis. Pitch stood next to them, his face blank as he tried to piece together what had happened. After he and the other yeti had left the library, he realized that he couldn't feel the four current season spirits and that the Guardians' fear and worry had suddenly grown. Normally he would have taken pleasure in exploiting their fears and teasing them for their weakness in acting sooner, but the situation with Mother Nature prevented him from engaging in his desires. His mind was still trying to piece together the situation when he felt a pair of small arms encircle his waist.

"Hey, papa," she called, setting her chin against his hip as he turned his head to look at her. A small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as he gently pried her hands away in order to kneel down. "Yes, my dear?" he asked, lightly stroking her hair.

She thought for a few seconds before leaning closer to the man's ear, revealing that she wanted to keep their conversation private. "I don't really like what the furry monster gave me. Will it be mean for me to ask to wear something else?" As she pulled back, Pitch couldn't help but share in her distaste for the yeti's choice. The shirt the young girl wore a bright cheery red shirt with sleeves that reached past her elbows. The neckline had a puffy collar with similar material at the ends of the sleeves and hem of the shirt. In the center was a large snowman with a lopsided smile and missing right eye. The pants weren't as bad as the shirt, but the neon green material with small reindeer was a real eye sore.

"No, my dear," he answered, standing back up while gesturing to one of the yetis. The group looked at each other uneasily before reaching a decision to send out a timid one with pale brown fur. "Would you mind taking her and finding a more acceptable wardrobe for her?" The yeti's eyes widened at the man's request, but a tugging from the girl tore their gaze away from him. Casting a harmless smile, the yeti took the girl's hand and led the now cheered up girl down one of the many hallways.

Pitch watched them go and continued staring down the empty hallway until he couldn't stand the remaining yetis' stares anymore. Putting on his best glare, he turned around and asked, "Don't you fur coats have anything better to do?" Most quickly turned around and went back to the workshop, checking every shadow to make sure the Nightmare King wasn't trying to pull anything. A few though couldn't help but let out a light chuckle at the man's protectiveness.

Ignoring them, Pitch went back to his thoughts, but was quickly growing bored of waiting for the Guardians. Deciding to have another look at the spell, he walked over to a nearby table and picked up the old book. As he turned to the page he marked, a small cloud of dust blew out, causing him to let out a soft cough. One of the yetis that was with him in the library caught sight of what happened and calmly walked to his side, mumbling 'Are you alright?'

"Yes, yes, I'm fine," Pitch answered, waving his hand. He ignored the rest of the creature's chatter as he focused on the spell. He initially thought that the spell would simply transport whoever the caster wanted out of harm's way until they could meet again. As he read on though, he found that there were three parts to it. The first was that caster would need to have some type of connection to their targets, whether it was a material they always carry with them, a bit of their blood, or a similar core to their own. The second part stated that the caster's targets would be taken out of danger, if any, but they would be placed in an area that the caster chooses, but then will later forget. The final part concluded that targets powers along with their memories would be locked away unless the caster makes physical contact with them or some event triggers their memory. The spell lasted only as long as the caster and targets were separated and that the caster would also suffer power and memory loss. At the bottom of the page it stated that the intention of the spell was to send the caster's chosen targets to wherever they wanted, but would have the caster forget where they were in case the caster wished to harm the targets.

"What a stupid spell," Pitch stated as he read the final sentence, closing the book with a loud thump. As dust blew around his face again, he caught a quick flash of green and gold from the corner of his eyes along with a series of chirps. Pitch stepped back into a dark corner as Tooth and Sandy settled near the Guardian tiles, with Tooth's fairies flying everywhere to settle their nerves and help coordinate teeth collecting. "I wonder where North and Bunny are," Tooth said, looking to Sandy who just shrugged.

Before she could say anything else, one of the doors in the workshop flew open, sending a cold chill through the room. When the door closed, North leaned his back against it while Bunny made a quick leap toward the fireplace. "Stupid bloody snow," Bunny called out, warming his feet. "North, next time you get lost out on the Arctic tundra, don't you dare call me!"

The older man gave a slight huff as he strode to Tooth and Sandy saying, "Bah, it's only nippy. During blizzard, it's much colder." "Still! Next remember to stash globes in your coat before yelling off somewhere!" Bunny retorted, switching his feet.

Just as North was about to say something else, Pitch glided from his corner, startling the four Guardians. "If you're quite done wasting time," he started, stopping behind Sandy who turned to glare at him, "I believe you have more pressing matters to attend to."

"Why does it matter to you, Pitch?" Bunny asked, abandoning the fireplace to step between Pitch and Sandy. The Nightmare King took a few steps back, presenting the book to North. The white haired man's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as he snatched the book from Pitch's hands.

"Where did you get this?" he asked, waving the object in question in front of Pitch's face. "From one of your libraries, of course," the shade replied, pushing the other man's arm away. "You really should clean the room out by the way. All the dust in the air will rot the paper if you're not careful."

North glared at Pitch before turning his eyes down to the book, flipping to the marked page. As he read, Tooth glanced around the room then turned to Pitch with a glare. "Where is Mother Nature at?" she asked, balling her fists by her sides. Bunny and Sandy looked themselves and when they didn't see the woman, they returned their gaze to Pitch. The shade just smirked as they focused their attention on him, saying, "With one of the yetis I presume. She should be back any second now, though you may not recognize her at first glance."

The trio's eyes widened and Sandy created an image of a woman next to a tree with a question mark above them. Bunny was about to say something, but Tooth beat him to it. "What did you do to her, Pitch?" she demanded, placing her fists on her sides. "I did nothing to her at all," he answered, throwing his hands up in mock surrender. "Though I believe Man in Moon played a huge role in what happened."

Away from the group, North's eyes widened as he finished reading the spell then glanced up at Pitch. "What did you make Mother Nature do?" North demanded, thrusting the book to the nearest yeti, who nearly dropped it. Pitch just smirked harder, knowing that they wouldn't know what to say in a minute. "I did not do anything to her, but as I've said, she and Manny seem to have worked something out. Talk to him if you have any questions. But I will say this: expect something unexpected."

"Enough wasting time, Pitch," Tooth stated, quickly flying over to stare down at the man. "What have you done with her?" Pitch still continued smirking and made no indication that he was going to answer her question. With her patience run out, Tooth was about to pull her arm back to knock out another of the man's teeth when a loud cry stopped them.

Before any of the Guardians could do anything, Tooth was roughly pushed back away from Pitch, causing her wings to freeze up in surprise. Without a way to steady herself, she fell back against Bunny, who manages to catch her. However, he felt something solid smack against his knees and it wasn't long until he also lost his balance.

Luckily, North managed to keep both of them from falling and didn't have anything disrupt his balance like the other two. As they recomposed themselves, Sandy let out his whips and immediately turned to glare at Pitch, who tried unsuccessfully to hold back a snicker.

Just as the Sandman was about to attack his opposite, he felt a weight hit him from behind. Unlike the other two however, Sandy managed to stay on his feet and didn't waste a second in scattering himself out. Without something to hold onto, the weight landed roughly on the floor as Sandy recollected himself. Before the figure could make another sound, he wrapped two whips around the body's waist and lifted them upside down a few feet above the ground.

The other three, who had only noticed the bright glow of the sand as it scattered, turned to face their adversary and completely grew still as they saw who it was. "Let me go, you evil monsters!" a small girl cried out, swinging her arms everywhere trying to hit something. Even though they couldn't see her face due to her thick hair, they knew that there was only one other person it could be.

"Mother Nature?" Bunny whispered, causing the girl to cease her moving. She lifted her hands to her face and pulled back her hair to focus her dark eyes on the four Guardians. Huffing, she pouted out her lip and responded, "My name's not Mother Nature, you meanies! It's Seraphina Renee Pitchiner, daughter of General Kozmotis Pitchiner and Lieutenant General Saturnina Heimirich. And even though I'm small, I still know enough fighting moves to take you all out with one eye closed!"

By now, Pitch could no longer hide his amusement and let out what sounded like a cross between a laugh and a cackle. He managed to compose himself to say to the stunned Guardians, "I warned you to expect the unexpected."

Giving up on untangling herself from the wind's hold, Avalon contented herself to just crossing her arms while laying on her back. While she was frustrated at Bradwr for taking her away from her fun and revenge, the lack of vegetation near the water allowed her mind to clear out until she no longer felt a driving want to puncture his chest with her bare hands.

Sighing for close to the hundredth time, Avalon lifted one of her arms to gaze at the self-inflicted scratches. The minor ones had already healed over, leaving the skin unblemished, but the larger ones were taking much longer and sported a dark purple hue near the exposed skin. She gently traced over those marks with her other hand, ignoring the wave of pain that it sent through her body.

Calmly, she closed her eyes and muttered a small spell to herself. As she finished, the tips of her fingers let out a soft glow and she didn't waste any time in pressing them against the most serious wounds. For a while all she could feel was pain, but slowly the skin starting closing up until all that was left was a thin, purple scratch line.

"This isn't going to turn out pleasant," she whispered to herself, tracing the foreign color. "A few specks must have gotten caught under the skin. I'm going to need to cut these back open when I get a chance otherwise-"

Her sentence was interrupted as the wind quickly stopped before turning her straight to the left. Letting out a loud curse, she balled her fist and yelled, "Cut it with the games, Bradwr! I am not in the mood!" The wind seemed to lose its hold on her a few times, but when Avalon made no indication that she was afraid, it grew silent once more as it continued taking her to its destination. "Stupid pest," she whispered, closing her eyes while still tracing her arms.

After what seemed like forever, Avalon felt dark energy straight in front of her along with three different sources. Refusing to show any weakness to the others, she stood up as best as she could and folded her arms across her chest, hoping to look intimidating and also trying to hard the scratches. As they came into view, a dark light shown below the water under their feet as the wind continued to hold them up.

To her satisfaction, none of them were unscratched and she couldn't help but let out a snicker at the bird like scratches that adored Thanatos' arms and the thin lines of blood across Bradwr's face. "Say anything at all," Thanatos started when she was close enough to hear, "And that will be the last thing you will ever say." Bradwr continued focusing his concentration on the wind, but Avalon didn't miss the warning glare that was sent her way. When she glanced at Nina, she didn't miss a long mark along the inside of the woman's right leg. Nina also sent the spirit a long glare, daring her to point out the wound.

Deciding that confronting them wasn't the most reasonable option at the moment, Avalon turned back to Bradwr. "So what now , Mr. It-Will-Be-Easy-To-Take-Out-Our- Replacements-And-Mother Nature?" she asked, matching the man's stare. "Or are you finally going to admit you're not always right?"

For a few tense minutes, Nina and Thanatos were sure that Bradwr was going to lash out his anger on Avalon. It wouldn't be the first time any of them had tried to hurt their fellow season spirits, but neither of them were really in the mood to run if Bradwr or Avalon decided to drag them into their fight. Luckily, they decided to save their fight for later as both slowly relaxed their stances, giving the two spectators a moment to breathe a small sigh of relief.

"I'll admit that we had greatly underestimated the young brats, but that doesn't mean everything is hopeless." As he finished his sentence, Thanatos looked down at his feet to the spot of dark color in the water. "So I'm assuming that means you're going to tell us why we're here at the Gates of Chaos instead of re-planning then, right?" he asked, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"Ah, I wondered why this place seemed so familiar. Though I never imagined that Eris would willingly enclose herself in her dimension," Avalon added, letting out a small giggle. Nina's face scrunched up in disgust at the other woman's statement before she turned to glare at Bradwr. "Why are we even getting involved with her again? She was no use to us the first time around, so why would this time be any different?"

"Oh, now don't be so nasty toward our favorite friend, Nina," Thanatos teased, smirking as she turned her focus to him. "Just because you two had a little spout-"

"'A little spout' my foot!" she interrupted, "that stupid she devil thinks that just because she possesses cosmic energy, that she can go around and mess with me! Well let me tell you something: if Bradwr is planning on doing what I think he's doing, then I'm just going to go and let those stupid 'Guardians' or whatever just crush my existence now. I would rather spend eternity in Tartarus then stand five minutes with her."

As Nina continued ranting to Thanatos, Avalon settled down beside Bradwr, who was running his hands over the water. "Looking for the doorbell or something?" she smirked, skimming her bare feet over the surface. "Something like that," he answered, not bothering to look up from his task. "Why did she have to go and lock up her domain? This just makes things so much more difficult."

Pouting slightly at the lack of attention from the other three, Avalon moved over a few feet from Bradwr's right and a few paces away from Nina and Thanatos. Letting out a sigh, she kneeled on top of the water and crossed her ankles behind her. Slowly, she circled her hand in the spot in front of her while softly muttering some dead language. When she finished, a dark circle of light appeared below her, catching the other three's attention.

Ignoring them, Avalon continued muttering as she ran her fingers across the circle, making a zigzag pattern as she went. No one said anything as she swiped her fingers up, causing the area to dim before the light completely went out. Avalon stayed perfectly still as Nina complained, "I told you that she-devil wouldn't be of any help. Can't even open her own-"

Suddenly, the sea below them let out a loud moan and then began splitting down the middle. Slowly, the two halves pushed back while the dark light gathered into a rectangle before solidifying into a door. The dark color was littered with scratches and images of every mass destruction that ever took place. Pictures of fires, giant beasts, wars, extreme famine, and slaughter covered ever surface except for a smooth spot of unblemished metal in the center. Whether than a door handle however, there was only a hole in the shape of clawed hand.

While Nina tried to hold back her shock and anger, Thanatos let out a soft whistle saying, "Eris sure knows how to decorate. But why did she decide to move the door to the bottom of the ocean?"

"It became too much of a hassle to keep it above the surface when humans stopped believing the Earth was flat," Avalon answered, lowering herself next to the hole. "And technically it's not at the bottom of the ocean, just half way down."

Thanatos just shrugged and went to join Avalon along with Bradwr. As the two boys settled, Bradwr turned up to Nina shouting, "Get down here before I drag you." Nina just glared at them, but when she met the man's cold eyes, she just sighed and jumped next to them. While she ignored them, Bradwr turned to Avalon and asked, "How did you know how to find the entrance?"

Avalon shrugged, saying, "Before we got imprisoned, Eris told me just in case I managed to escape. Out of all of us, she said that 'I was the most likely to escape due to my tendency to cause mass destruction of nature' or something like that."

Without another word, she lifted her hand and forced her hand to morph into the shape on the door. Satisfied, she placed it in the hole and sent a small wave of power through it. The wood started glowing and before anyone could say anything, the door suddenly split open and a strong breeze grabbed them before dragging them below.

When the door closed behind them, the group were dumped on roughly on a stone floor in the middle of a demolished temple. Around them, the dust rose and whirled around them, sending small grains at Nina.

"Well, well, well," a smooth female voice called out, catching their attention. "Look who has escaped and come straight to me." In front of them, a tall, dark shadow formed through the sand and advanced toward them. When it made it to the stone, the sand quickly fell down their frame to reveal a lean woman with dark gray skin. Her black hair continued scattering sand but her red eyes focused on the four people in front of her. The purple dress covering spread across her feet and moved like smoke trapped in a clear container.

Before any of them could blink, she suddenly appeared in front of Nina, smirking as the spirit let out a squeal of surprise at the woman. As her for continued to shift, she took a few steps back and lifting herself up, asked, "So what can Eris the 'she-devil' do for you today?"

And that's it! Yay Chapter 7 is done so I can move on to Chapter 8. Hopefully everyone enjoyed this and if not, well sorry about that but feel free to share me your thoughts on what you didn't like. Anyone that notices a spelling/grammar/story mistake, please tell me. I won't be mad, I swear!

Any way about Eris. She's from DreamWorks 'Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas' and serves as the film's villain. She's the goddess of discord and chaos and enjoys basically causing, well chaos. I'm not exactly sure which type of Goddess she is, but I think it's maybe Roman or Greek. While she is a villain, she's not really a bad villain. It's just in her nature to mess with the order of things, like Discord in 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magical' (yes I've watched it and have no shame!) Any who the reason I included her is because 1) I needed to think of a place for the old gang to meet up and her domain is very chaotic and shifty, so it made sense to me to put them there, 2) I can use her to introduce some of the old gang's past and how they became what they are, and 3) When I saw her after I typed the first few chapters I instantly thought 'I must include her!' so here she is! More of her and others to come.

Last note, Mother Nature has no confirmed name. But a lot of people refer to her as Seraphina and after testing it out, I started to really like it so it stuck to me. Her mother's name however is merely part of my imagination. The 'Lieutenant General' is supposed to indicate she is a higher rank than Pitch, who was a 'General', but I could be wrong on that so yep, I'm human. Her first name, Saturnina, is derived from the name 'Saturn' and 'Saturninus' (the Roman God) and can mean 'strength'. Her last name, Heimirich, is a Germanic name that means 'home ruler' and has several variations.

Well that's it so until next time, 'Keep on reading!' If any of you have questions, don't be afraid to ask and I'll try to get back with you ASAP!
