I'm sorry for any mistakes or errors. If you find any, please tell me and I'll edit the chapter.

After using the spell against Ryota, I had felt weird, for a lack of better terms. It didn't feel right, like the magic was not mine to begin with.

Yu stood next to the collapsed body of his fallen teammate, mouth gaping in shock, "What magic do you use, katana lady?" Laxus chuckled at the name the black-haired man gave him and Jellal looked at me, amused.

I frowned in response to the name, "I use Celestial Spirit magic, isn't it obvious?' I gestured to the keys that were dangling from my belt.

"But that's not possible! You couldn't have cast the spell like that using some weak power like that!"

W-weak? Did he just call the power of spirits weak?! As I became enraged, my aura responded to my emotions as it became sharper and stronger, filling up the entire room. Laxus and Jellal, who are still standing in the sidelines, had predicted this so they had already put up a barrier, "What did you say?!" I shouted, still angry. My aura surrounded the man, causing him to fall onto his knees, "Spirits are alive! Don't you dare call them weak, don't you dare call the magic that was passed to me by my mother weak! I am strong, strong enough to beat you without my spirits or weapons!" I yelled. I would regret my decision later on, but due to my pride I had threw away my pouch of keys, whip and katanas, the clattered near Jellal and Laxus.

"Oh? Bring it!" Yu shouted in anticipation, smirking. He got into his casting positions and chanted, "Water Make: Whip!" I laughed at the similarity to my Fleuve d'etoiles, "What a-are you laughing at?"

"Oh, nothing." I ran forward, smiling at his widened eyes as I appeared behind him. I walked backwards a few steps before moving to launch a butterfly kick. I jumped in the air and spun around, my left leg making the first contact to Yu's head and my right hitting a little lower right after. After my kick, I landed on the floor and had bent my legs to absorb the force of the impact.

Yu grabbed his head, and cursed. He flicked his wrist and the whip lashed towards my face, I ducked to dodge and jumped backwards before he could make another attempt at an attack, "Lamina." I said, after repeating the same process as before, placing one hand on my mark and another in front of me. This time though, a magic circle didn't appear and no magic had invoked. I stood there, confused before taking my turn to curse.

"Maybe you aren't so strong after all…" Yu smirked, pulled back his arm for a few seconds before snapping his forearm forward to launch his whip once more. I couldn't evade the attack fast enough this time, so the whip had hit my right side. I clutched my side, using my hands to check the damage level. No blood, not too much pain, those were good signs.

But why didn't the magic work? It worked before, so why not now? I didn't have the time to wonder as Yu started to dash towards me. He tried to punch me, but I side stepped and moved to make my own punch. I uppercutted him on the side of his jaw and he was sent flying. I guess all of the weights I put on my wrist while running with Laxus served a purpose in the end.

"Tch," He scoffed, rubbing the sore spot. He spat on the floor and allowed his whip to disperse into magical dust before rushing forward once more. This time he crescent kicked me but I moved back in time. I tried to punch his waist but my fist just felt air, I looked and saw that dodged.

Then, I felt wind brushing against my cut up tank top and soon, a rushing leg met my already damaged side. I was pushed back a few meters, and soon I felt the wind rushing out of me as I smashed against the wall, creating a small crater. I dropped onto my knees after the impact and then got up and coughed, having difficulty breathing properly.

My side, where the attack from the whip and the recent kick hit, started to throb with intense pain, I shut my eyes hoping that it would stop. I needed to know the extent of the damage, so I gently pressed a few fingers on the throbbing area. I immediately felt a scorching pain, my ribs were broken. I breathed in and took one step forward.

'Come on! Magic! Please work!' I prayed one last time. I knew that my combat skills weren't bad, but they weren't good enough right now and neither were my reflexes. I wouldn't be able to dodge fast enough if I'm limping like I am now, and I had discarded my weapons and keys. I inwardly hit myself for doing something so utterly stupid.

Suddenly, the same seal that appeared when I casted the deflection spell from before appeared on the ground right below my feet. It glowed brightly, blinding my eyes but at least it created a distraction. I didn't know what was happening, I didn't cast any spell.

"Are you Lucy Heartfillia?" A female voice said, her words echoing in the distance. I turned around, looking for a person but instead found none. I also saw that none of the other people there had reacted to the voice, so I knew that this person was speaking in my mind only.

"Y-yes." I thought in my head, realizing how silly I was. I face Yu and wondered why he didn't attack me yet.

"Hello, Lucy. My name is Ostentia, I am a spirit but one of the dead." The voice spoke, causing me to wonder. A spirit of the dead? "The Spirit Kind had granted you permission to use my power, but I believe that you still can't use it properly. You had contacted me using the dead language, Latin while casting a spell. Correct?"

"Y-yes, I did." I stuttered, still thinking about the complete stupidity of this situation. Yu still didn't make a move, so I knew that I still have some time left.

"Well, I allowed you to cast one spell considering how you were facing death that time. And as you weren't facing death just a few minutes ago, I refused to lend you my power. But now, I realize that you will die at this rate, so I will help you." I was confused. Wasn't it the Spirit King's power? Facing death? Dead language? What the hell is going on? "Just listen to what I say, Lucy. You will understand." At this time, Yu had been preparing a strong spell which explained why he didn't attack me.

I sighed and reluctantly nodded in reply, somehow knowing that she would see my response. What would Natsu say in these situations? Ah! "I'm all fired up!" I shouted and laughed. Laxus smirked and made a thumbs-up, I could see him mouth the words 'Go for it, Blondie.' which caused me to blush. I looked away a little faster than I should have because he saw the motion and just laughed.

At the sound of Laxus's hearted laugh, Jellal turned around to see me getting into a fight position, "I believe in you, Lucy!" He cheered, and as soon as I heard his voice, butterflies erupted in my stomach.

I nodded towards him, my blush had intensified by then. I have to win, they were watching.
