Chapter Seven: Guiding Star

The crimson haired dimensional traveler turned Silver Timelady sat in dimly lit room, sweat covering her body. The heat was horrific, but she had to endure. She had been stuck in this room for several months. Every day the temperature would rise just a little bit higher and she had to forcibly adapt her body to compensate. She was completely exhausted from the constant adjustments, and she couldn't sleep because of the damn heat. One minor lapse in concentration and her body would overheat, resulting in another regeneration. Then she would have to start over from the beginning.

She focused instead on her memories of Doctor Who, both classic and the reboot. She burned every single detail from the Doctor's entire timeline into her mind. She had done this many times so that she would let nothing slip away. The Doctor and her beloved Sage were the only things keeping from losing herself to Rassilon's insanity. She refused to let that bastard win. She would prove that she was stronger than he would ever be.

She gasped for breath when the temperature suddenly plummeted, signaling the end of the conditioning session. Over the intercom, she was instructed to regenerate in order to fully merge the conditioning into her body. She rose to her feet, swaying slightly, but she managed to activate her regeneration cycle. Silver flames of energy encompassed her and she could feel herself becoming alive again.

She had done this process so many times that it never really felt like dying anymore...more like an intense relief. The last one hundred years had been nothing but one conditioning session after another. She had been burned, frozen, electrocuted, poisoned, oxygen deprived, starved, drowned, stabbed repeatedly, riddled with holes from projectiles, shot with lasers of varying intensities, assaulted by all forms of radiation, forced to adjust to different kinds of planetary atmospheres, and even conditioned to turn pain into pleasure. That was just some of the things she had gone through, but those were some of the most memorable.

Her regeneration finally finished and she was rather pleased with the outcome. She had return to a more curvaceous form and her fiery red locks completely outclassed the Scottish girl who waited for her raggedy Doctor. She really needed a mirror so she could see what color her eyes had become. Ultimately, everything was secondary because her primary objective was to find her beloved Sage.

She had been separated from him for far too damn long and the moment the door opened, she bolted from the room. She ran through hallway after hallway, following the familiar pull of their shared bond, and she kidded to a halt upon seeing him. He was currently being snogged by another woman. Said woman was, in fact, Zelena Sarai, one of the scientists assigned to sexually assault the male bonded partners during the previous phase.

Artimes strolled forward, rolling her eyes as she went. She grabbed the woman and easily tossed her into the wall.

"Get your own bonded, Zelena." The red head stated her eyes glowing silver for a moment as she smirked.

Zelena glared at her, venom radiating from her body. The ginger raised an eyebrow, her eyes issuing a challenge to the scientist. The woman then huffed as she rose to her feet, storming away from the pair. The red head then turned her attention to the brunet male.

"Hello sweetie." She said with a seductive smile on her lips.

Sage beamed at her before sweeping her into his arms and snogging her senseless. They did not break apart for several minutes and when they did, he proceeded to pin her against the wall. Neither of them cared that they were in a very public venue...they only saw each other and nothing else mattered. He took her right there in the hallway, her screams of pleasure ricocheting off the walls.

It took them over an hour to finally make it back to their quarters. They joined over and over again. Sage worshiped his ginger haired goddess, ravishing her new body with a passion that could outlast the dual suns that shined down on their world. One hundred years was really too damn long.

Several hours later, Artimes walked out of the bathroom, drying her ginger locks with a towel. She was smiling because her last regeneration restored her forest green eyes. Her beloved Sage was reclining on the bed, wearing only his sleep pants. His eyes roamed over her hungrily and she tapped his nose playfully.

He smiled at her before pulling her onto the bed with him. She giggled as he rolled on top of her and began kissing her neck and shoulders.

"Combat training is next, but they won't separate us this time." The red head informed trying not to squirm under his heated touch.

"Uh huh." Sage replied moving the straps of her spaghetti strap shirt so he could have better access to her shoulders.

"I'm gonna have to fight the others, I don't want to kill them, Sage. Timelord science is so advanced that I can't even fake their deaths." She continued as he slipped her shirt down to expose her breasts.

Sage sighed and pulled back a little to look into her eyes.

"I know you don't want to kill them, Artimes, but they will be gunning for you. As a silver regen, you are the greatest threat to their survival. If they take you down then they can guarantee their lives." He replied his eyes dancing with understanding.

'I know it's hard, my love, but one day the nightmare will pass and you'll be free.' He continued mentally.

'We'll be free.' She countered her eyes determined.

His entire body stiffened, his eyes clouding with sorrow and guilt. She stared at him for a long moment.

'What aren't you telling me, Sage?' She asked seeing something that she had been ignoring.

He buried his face into her neck, not wanting to answer her, and dread started to fill her, her stomach tying up in knots.

'Don't ask me, please.' He pleaded his inner voice resonating with so much sorrow.

The red head stared up at the ceiling, her eyes misting over with unshed tears. Her beloved Sage rarely begged or pleaded with her and when he did, she knew that it was very bad. She had an idea about what was coming for them and no matter how she tried to deny it or fight it...everything pointed to it. She couldn't let it happen. Their story would not end that way.

'It won't happen and even if it did, they won't live long enough to regret it.' She replied her fury and hatred simmering just under the surface.

'I know. Just don't forget who you really are.' He responded his inner voice gently caressing her mind.

'And who am I?' She asked her emotions settling down.

'My guiding star...my Artimes.' He answered his voice full of love.

'My light...my Sage.' She replied just as passionately.

He lifted his head and kissed her, his mind filling her entire being with his love for her. He took his time pleasuring her. He worshiped her body with a deep reverence and devotion. She reveled in that love, no words could describe how much she loved him and she couldn't express the joy she had, knowing that she was his everything.

She swore a silent vow to overcome all the obstacles standing between them and their freedom. She would do whatever it took to end this terrible program and right the many wrongs that had been done to them and the others. She would get justice for the fallen and the Academics would know their pain.

Over the next few years, the Academics trained her in speed, stealth, espionage, all forms of combat, weapons handling, everything that would make her the perfect soldier and the art of killing. She hated learning how to kill; to take life painlessly or to inflict the most pain possible. They taught her how to torture people and how to inflict the maximum amount of pain and still keep someone alive.

The fury and hatred within her became stronger and stronger with each passing day. Never before in her human life had she ever felt hatred. She had always been so kind and forgiving. She always saw the best in people even when they couldn't see it in themselves. Now she was a Timelady and she realized why her human self could never feel hatred because she had never known a true and all encompassing love.

Without that love, she would never have known hatred. She understood that now and as she was escorted to the battleground, she thought about the other bonded pairs and the love they shared with one another. Out of the four hundred and seventeen participants at the beginning of the program, there were now only sixty nine that remained. So many lives lost, so much love that had been destroyed. It invoked a fury so deep that it was hard to breathe sometimes.

Artimes was about to go head to head with twelve other participants. She was given her best weapons, the alpha meson pistols and a pair of sais. The goal of this phase was to kill the others and be the last one standing. She hated the Academics for putting them through this, for turning them into weapons, but she hated Rassilon even more.

The Final Phase was coming and it left a very sour taste in her mouth. She had finally worked out what Sage had been attempting to hide from her. The Final Phase was to kill her bonded partner, shattering their shared link and breaking her spirit. If she didn't kill Sage, they would suffer a fate far worse than death for centuries. She knew they would make her watch, reveling in the that fact that she would have been the one that caused that outcome.

She could barely focus on the fight around her. Her body was doing what it was trained to do and she swore to never forget the names and faces of every person she was forced to kill. The memories of their final screams would further solidify her resolve to destroy this program and everyone attached to it. She would avenge them...she would avenge them all.

She continued to fight while trying to wrestle with the future that was coming. She knew Rassilon had taken a special interest in her and she knew that if she didn't kill Sage, he would torture him himself. The Lord President had been the one to rape her most frequently and most severely in the earlier phase of her training. Her jaw clenched, eyes raging with fury, as the memories flashed across her mind's eye.

Artimes watched as her final opponent bled out at her feet, the light fading from her eyes. Her mind stilled and her heart iced over as she made her decision. If she couldn't save her beloved Sage from the fate awaiting them then she would make certain no one else would suffer the way they did. She would lay waste to this complex, slaughter the Academics, and erase the Warrior program for good. She would then hunt down the puppet master, the Lord President, Rassilon.

She would make certain that he never escaped the Time War.

Lady Artz: That is it! Chapter Seven: Guiding Star is over and done with! I know that there wasn't much dialogue but I wanted more of her feelings to come through and show how she is thinking...and yes, you all probably want to kill me, but there is one more chapter before we get to the Final Phase.

Leaves lots of reviews and PM me any ideas you guys and gals might have for this story or even for my other ones too. Be on the look out for Chapter Eight: Forlorn Hearts! Until next time...dearies. *disappears*
