Francis put the phone down as he sighed and looked at Antonio. The frenchman flicked the chocolate haired man's forehead.

"If you already knew something was up you should have given her a break then."

Antonio pouted but then spoke;

"So how did your good friend react to the news?" Antonio diverted the topic. He was a great manager and he's exactly giving Gilberta a lot of job so she never has to go back to her plebeian days, he doesn't know the full picture but he did meet her when she was starting out.

When Gilberta was starting out there will be occasional days when she'd end up battered and bruised still. Gilberta never told anyone who beat the shit out of her whenever she'd appear with a bruise on some days, she would fake strength and brush it off. She'd say she fell or something like that.

Although Antonio would tell Gilberta that it's alright to tell him. She never did. She'd smile and thank him though.

It's been a few years since she ended up looking like that and Antonio thought it was because Gilberta was slowly becoming famous that she didn't have to hold on to whoever was abusing her.

Francis sighed. "He was startled but he said he was flying back here."

"We mean well but I do wonder if we should have told him. Gilberta hasn't even decided with what she'd do about it." Francis continued solemnly.

"We'd support her no matter what her decision would be." Antonio declared nonchalantly with a kind expression.

Gilberta combed her long hair, her free hand trailed down to her shoulders guiding the comb until it reached the end of her hair in front of her stomach. There was a small bump there barely noticeable to others.

She inhaled deeply and exhaled exasperated, it was weird for her. She knew what the first thing she should be doing it was pretty logical. She never planned to reproduce in her life. For her, her brother was everything and she never found the need or want a kid for that matter. Now that she's in this situation though it feels different knowing a life depends on her.

Gilberta has always been one who appreciates life no matter how small. As a child when their parents was still alive, she would often nurse chicks she'd find in the forest after the storms. Her room was filled with all sorts of animal she cared for.

A knock startled her train of thoughts. She closed her eyes as she told the person knocking to enter. It was Ludwig, he's eyes are solemn and he's got a light aura of someone who cares so much.

"The doctors said you can go home today but you have to take a lot of rest." Ludwig stated.

"That's great I'm starting to get tired of hospital food." Gilberta said with a grin. She didn't like looking like a loser in front of her brother. Gilberta loves her brother so much she was willing to sacrifice a lot of things for him. This was the reason that it was rare for Ludwig to see the other side of her but he knew it was there. Although she would hide when she was sad or angry or wounded like an animal she couldn't fully hide it from Ludwig.

Ludwig wasn't a kid anymore and he himself have strived to improve himself and his goal is to protect his sister. That one day he will be the one to do the protecting and not her.
