I'm not exactly sure how this chapter ended up being so short but I hope it's still good. Now wedding or lack of wedding yet though. I think it's a pretty good chapter so START THE STORY!

Yizziki knocked on the door to the mansion and waited for an answer, Ember right behind her. There was a pause and then Destiny slowly opened the door. Once she saw Yizziki she opened it the rest of the way but was surprised to find Ember there. "Hey Yizziki, Ember." She said carefully.

"I told her about the…" Yizziki started.

"You told her?" Destiny asked.

"She was getting worried and I needed help."

"Okay, I understand." She sighed.

"She actually had a good idea though but we need some information from you for it to work."

"Alright, I will help anyway I can."

"We just need to know who your fiancé is."

"His name is Thomas Aiden"

"Figured," Yizziki sighed.

"Yeah, well, what did you expect?" Destiny asked.

"Him actually but we needed to know for sure."

"Who is this boy?" Ember asked noticing the irritation in both voices.

"The one I told you about earlier from the party."

"That's him?" She nodded. "Okay, yes, we definitely have to stop this."

"Undoubtedly, then let's get to work."

"We just need to make your dad distrust him."

"Easier said than done." Destiny sighed.

"Why do you say that?" Ember asked.

"For starters, I don't think he actually trusts him to start with."

"Why do you say that?"

"'Cause I honestly think this is more about me than him."

"What does he gain?"

"Not sure, besides making sure I can never be happy which he's always been good at."

"Why do you think that is why he is doing that?"

"Most likely."

"No, there has to be another reason."

"And why is that?"

"Maybe more power and backing?"

"How would that get it?" Destiny asked.

"Well, does his family have any say when things are voted on here?"

"Well… yeah."

"Then they back him and their son gets well... you."

"I guess that make sense."

"We just need to see if they have other reasons."

"Well, if it will help."

"It will if they do."

"How?"

"Your father hates to be manipulated.

Destiny nodded, "I know that. How does that help me?"

"If you can prove to him they are manipulating him he will call the marriage off."

"That's a big if, especially since that's not really what they're doing."

"We do not know that for sure." Yizziki said thinking hard.

"We don't know either way for sure."

"Exactly why it is worth looking into." Destiny nodded of course not denying that. "Good so we are agreed."

"Yes we are." Destiny said SERIOUSLY hoping it works.

"Now where to start?" Yizziki asked.

"Find out more about this boy and his family first?" Ember pitched.

"Right good, we should start there and that means being around him.

Ember sighed, "Alright, for her."

"For Destiny." Yizziki nodded.

"Now?"

"Better sooner than later.

"That's true. Now then."

"Destiny, want to come?" Yizziki asked.

"I don't want to but that's really the only way you guys can get in."

"True." Yizziki sighed as Destiny stepped out dressed in a black shirt and pants.

"Then let's go." Destiny sighed.

"Mourning Clothes?" Yizziki asked.

"The wedding," Destiny said bitterly. Yizziki nodded in understanding sadly. "Yeah," Destiny sighed. "Just follow me." So they did and followed through the many large homes of the upper class ring.

They eventually went up to a large house and Destiny forced herself to knock. A butler dressed in a white and black suit answered the door. "Ah, Ms. Snow." He said giving a fake smile.

"I'm here to see my fiancé." Destiny said forcing her voice to stay steady.

"Oh, of course, wedding plans I take I?"

Destiny just nodded, "My friends here want to help."

"Of course, follow me." She gulped slightly and followed him inside. They went up a few red carpeted stairs and down a hall before he stopped. "He's right through that door." The butler said.

"Thank you." Destiny said. She took a deep breath and knocked on his bedroom door.

"Who is it?" He called.

"Destiny," She answered somehow managing to keep her voice smooth when she did.

"Oh, Destiny dear, come in." He said.

She opened the door resisting the urge to run or throw up. He sat on a large bed covered in white silk sheets. "Thomas, these are my friends Yizziki and Ember." She said motioning to them.

"Oh! Nice to meet you both." He said smugly. He got up and did a bow before going over and kissing Destiny making both urges even harder to resist. Destiny pushed him away after a short kiss.

"Not now." She said.

He shrugged, "Well, alright, so, what brings you girls here?"

"Wedding plans." Destiny said.

"Right," He smiled. "Let's get on that then."

"So then, location." Destiny sighed.

"How about the rose garden back at your mansion?"

"Yeah, that could work."

"Then it's agreed."

"Now, for colors, I was thinking purple and white."

"Why those?"

"You look wonderful in purple." He said.

"Well, thank you." She said awkwardly.

"My pleasure."

"Well, I guess that works then."

"Now how many guests?" He asked as Ember slipped out to look around.

"If I know my dad, everyone. It's also set to be televised being the president's daughter and all."

"Right of course does that include your ex?" He asked.

"Except him," Destiny said since her father had already made that very clear. If this goes through that's probably best anyways.

"So finally learned his lesson on dating those above his status?" He asked.

"I guess he did."

"Well, good then smart of him really."

"Yeah, maybe he'll find someone more fitting. Another resurrection more likely."

"Yes, that seems better for him."

Yizziki could tell this was hurting Destiny to talk about. "Yes it does." She said her voice almost cracking mostly because a part of her still believed it.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She lied.

"Well let's move on then." He said.

Meanwhile Ember was sneaking through the home. 'There must be something.' She thought desperately. Then she heard whispering and headed towards the door it was coming from and listened in.

"Honey, are you sure this is a wise idea?" Thomas' mother asked.

"Of course I am. We get close enough to Snow to break down his system and he won't suspect a thing. He'll think he won until it's too late."

"What about Thomas and Destiny?"

"He's happy and she gets what's coming to her. Where's the problem?"

"You it uses them as pawns and she is not a bad girl."

"Exactly," He whispered.

"She is not bad."

"She's supposed to be. She's a Snow. She needs to embrace her legacy."

"Why?"

"Because it's who she is meant to be."

"You don't know that."

"I do know that. She's a Snow for crying out loud. What else could she be?"

"The one that changes her family."

He snorted, "Unlikely."

"You'll never know now."

"That's not her responsibility." His wife just sighed and headed to the other door.

Ember was horrified but once that settled she realized that's exactly what she need. She snuck away and crept back to the room.

Thomas didn't seem to have even noticed her absence. "I think that is enough planning for today." Destiny said.

"Alright, what now then?"

"We should go." Destiny said.

"Alright, come back soon though."

"Right, I will." Destiny said.

"Good, can I at least get a kiss goodbye then?" Obviously Thomas asked.

"Yeah sure." Destiny said carefully. So he leaned in and kissed her. She hesitated, but kissed back so as not to raise suspicions.

After what felt like a lifetime to Destiny they separated and she knew the second she got out of there she needed to throw up. "Bye Thomas!" She called hurrying away.

Yizziki and Ember left as well and sure enough when she was clear out of the way that's exactly what she had done. "Sorry Destiny."

"It was inevitable anyway." She shuddered wiping her mouth. "Did you guys get anything?"

"Yes, sort of." Ember said.

"Then it wasn't for nothing. What did you get?"

Ember told them everything she had overheard.

"Assholes," Destiny growled. "You don't have any proof though?"

"No, just what I heard, sorry."

"We'll likely need proof but it's certainly a start."

"Yeah, wish I had gotten some."

"I know but I don't blame you. At least we know what's next."

"Yeah, it should help a lot." Yizziki said smiling at Ember.

They were surprised when Destiny hugged them both, "Thank you so much guys."

"It's no trouble."

"Still, I have no idea what I'd do with you two."

"You would be okay."

"Definitely not."

"Not as okay, but okay."

"There's no way I would have been able to stop it."

"You do not know that."

"You don't know I would."

"Fair enough glad we could help though."

"Good, it does mean a lot."

"You two get home." Destiny said.

"You sure?" Yizziki asked.

"Yeah, I'll be okay."

"I don't believe you."

"You do not have to. I will be okay."

"Why do I have to go though?"

"You can stay." Destiny said.

"Good, I plan on it."

"I stay too."

Destiny sighed, "Alright."

"Unless you want me to leave." Ember said.

"No, it's fine."

Back at Kawino's, he was in his room with Gantile but they weren't doing... that. They were talking. "You know, I have always wondered. How did you and Ember get so quick and sneaky?" Kawino asked.

"We snuck around home a lot as well it was one of the only ways to have fun."

"Oh, I guess that makes sense."

"Yeah and we needed food sometimes."

"So you stole it?" Kawino concluded not seeing any other way to make the connection.

"Yeah, from time to time." She quickly added. "Only when we had to though. It was either that or starve."

"I understand that."

"We were good though. Obviously never got caught."

"Yeah, I'm impressed."

She smiled, "Well, thank you."

"No thanks necessary." Kawino said kissing her cheek.

She turned slightly so he kissed her lips. He pulled back for a second surprised. "What?" She asked innocently.

"That was just unexpected." He said.

"Well, it was preferable."

"Just surprising." He said honestly.

"Nothing wrong with surprises as long as they're good."

"Yeah, I suppose so." He said then surprised her by kissing her again. She smiled into it and returned the kiss. His arms came up and wrapped securely around her waist pulling her onto his lap.

"This is… nice..." She said between kisses sitting comfortably on his lap.

"Yes...it is..." He said holding her close.

"Are you… happy?" She asked.

"Why...would I...not be?" He asked.

"I mean… in… general."

"Yeah...I'm...okay." He said.

"But are you… happy?" She asked again.

He pulled back from the kiss and looked at her. "Why would I not be happy?"

"Just with everything."

"Yes, it has been good and bad." He said.

"Good, I just worry about you." She said leaning against his chest.

"I know and I appreciate that." He said holding her there and stroking her hair as he fell so he was laying on his back.

"It's hard to be sad like this." He said continuing the stock.

"Yeah it is." She said kissing his neck. He was surprised having never had that before but really liked the feeling. "You like that?" She asked between kisses.

"Yes…" He said in almost a moan.

"I'm glad you do." She said kissing and biting up his neck.

"She never did that." He moaned.

"Really never?" She asked kissing over until she was hovering over his lips.

"No," He said then closed the gap.

"Well that...is... her lose." She said loving this.

"I think… so too."

"Did you...ever want...to...try more?"

"What do… you mean?" He asked knowing it from what Destiny said but not making the connection until a few seconds later, "Oh."

"Yes, that."

"I'm not… sure."

"Why not?" She asked pulling back so she was just lying on top of him.

"Well, the way they had made it sound I'm not sure I'm ready."

"Oh! Okay, I can respect that."

"Okay, thank you."

"You're not mad?" He asked carefully.

"No, it's one of those things that we would definitely both have to agree to. Otherwise they actually have a different word for it."

"They do?" He asked.

"Yeah, then it's called rape."

"Oh okay." He said.

"Yeah, I don't want to rape you." She said awkwardly.

"That's bad right?"

She nodded, "Extremely."

"Got it." He said awkwardly.

"Yeah, I would never do that to you."

"I would never to you either." He said.

"Good, it's best to keep that out of everywhere."

"Got it." He said hugging her.

"So, what do you want to do now then?"

"I do not know." He said.

A week later they had all gathered at Kawino's home. Kawino was close against Gantile when the TV came to life on its own. "Oh joy a public announcement." He sighed. Gantile sighed a well holding him close but turned her attention to it since it's mandatory.

"Attention people of Panem." It started. "I am proud to announce that Destiny Snow is engaged to be married in three weeks. Given her social status and family the wedding will be shown across Panem."

Kawino's jaw dropped. "I guess she already found someone else. She moved on..." He said distantly. Though he had Gantile even he had trouble even pretending that didn't bother him.

"Kawino can we talk?" She asked. He hesitated but nodded.

She took his hand and led him to the room. "You still have feelings for her don't you?" Gantile asked getting straight to the point.

"I...what?" He asked.

"Destiny,"

"What about her?" He asked.

"You're not over her. You still love her."'

"I don't know," He said. "Even if so it wouldn't matter." He reminded from the broadcast.

"You do though?" She asked.

"I just said I don't know."

"How do you feel when you hear she is getting married?"

"Well, shocked mostly but also…" Kawino started trying to put it to words.

"Does it hurt?" He hesitated but nodded. "How bad?" She asked.

"Well… not terribly."

"By your scale not a lot you mean?" She asked.

"Well, yeah."

"Then a lot." She sighed.

"I guess so…"

"Kawino you still love her." She said simply.

Kawino sighed, "Alright, I guess I do."

Gantile sighed, but smiled a little. "Yeah, I should have known." She said.

"It's okay then?"

"Yes, I suspected this might happen, so I tried not to get too attached in this way, until we found out for sure."

"Well, as I said it doesn't make a difference now."

"Well, I guess not." She sighed.

"Well, at least she's happy with whoever this boy is."

"Yeah, I suppose so."

"And I still am, too." He said putting an arm around her.

She smiled and hugged him. "Glad to hear it. So, I still get to have you?" She asked.

"Yes, you do." He answered.

She kissed him gently. "Okay." She said.

"Good, I don't want to lose you, too."

"You won't." She said.

"You promise?"

"No matter what I will be here for you."

"Good, I'll need it." He said looking at his prosthetic arm even though it's still in cloaking mode.

"I know." She said.

"So, I'm more than glad you are."

"You are sweet."

"Well, I try to be at least."

"You succeed." She said smiling as they headed back in.

"Everything okay?" Clove asked.

"Yeah everything is fine." She looked at him for a while trying to tell if he's lying. "It is."

"Well, alright then. If you're sure." She added.

"Yeah, I'm sure."

"Alright then." She said.

"You believe me then?"

"Yes, I do."

Clove looked over at the TV though having been told the truth. She sighed what could she do? She was starting to get worried that if they could stop the wedding Kawino might still choose Gantile. It would not be bad for him but it would kill Destiny.

Honestly it was a tough call on who he'd choose and figured it will be really hard for him as well since he clearly loves them both. 'What do I do?' She thought.

So there you have it. I hope you liked it. Marcus and I work really hard on them but with his work and my school it's just hard to find the time. As always, review and you are welcome to flame.
