Ash stopped in front of a weird green roofed shack with a chicken coop in the back. "Whose house is this?" Lillian inquired.
"You'll see," Ash said holding the parlor doors open for Lillian. When she walked in she saw the walls filled with shelves, with various items, and a large counter in the front. Behind the counter she saw a large purple striped sombrero with a sun on the top of it. "Olah!" Said a voice with a Mexican accent from the behind the counter. The hat revealed a person under it, once the man jumped up on a stool. He had a matching striped poncho and a thin handlebar mustache. "Welcome! I'm Diego," he introduced.
"Hi, I'm Lillian," Lillian introduced.
"She's new here, so I'm giving her the tour," Ash explained to Diego. Turning to Lillian he continued, "Diego and his brother Enrique run the general store here. Their third brother runs the Konahona general store."
"Yes, my brother Enrique is not here right now, he is talking to Raul at Konahona." Diego explained. "Anyway, would you like to buy anything?" Diego asked the two.
"No we're good for now, but we'll defiantly come by later," Ash promised. "See ya Diego," he said walking out of the store.
"It was nice to meet you," Lillian said following after Ash.
Once they were outside Ash started to talk, "be careful though, he'll try and get you into one of his schemes, but they almost never work," He warned. He waved at a girl and what looked like her dad who just walked into town. They had a few horses following after them. "That's Georgia and Grady, I showed you their store earlier, let's go," Ash said. He walked over to the two, Lillian followed behind him.
Georgia had curly red-brown hair with bangs and some of it clipped back. She had hazel colored eyes and wore a vest matching her dad's shirt. Her wide eyes gave her a sweet and innocent look. Her father, Grady, also had red-brown hair and hazel eyes, but he had a bushy mustache and wore a yellow beret and a sweater. "Hey Grady and Georgia, did you get what you needed?" Ash asked them.
"Yep, four thoroughbred horses," Georgia replied. She had a southern accent, making her sweet and innocent appearance work for her even more.
"Great! Well this is Lillian, she's new here," Ash introduced.
"It's a pleasure to meet ya," Georgia said happily.
"I'm Grady and this is Georgia, was that your horse I saw than at the empty, well, er, used to be empty farm?" Grady asked.
Lillian nodded, " his name's Grey."
Grady slapped his knee, "well I was telling Georgia her how we need to get some horses of that breed!" He exclaimed.
Georgia laughed, "Sorry about him, the first thing he usually asks a person is if they have a horse," she whispered to Lillian.
"We better be off Georgia, hope you like Bluebell," Grady said, leading the horses into his barn. Georgia waved and followed after her dad.
"Before you, Georgia was the last person to move to Bluebell. She got her just last year," Ash explained. "Let's go to Eileen's than save town hall for last," be announced.
"How long have you've lived here?" Lillian asked Ash. She was trying to figure out how old he was without directly asking.
"Born and raised, so 19 years," Ash replied, he stuck his hands in his pocket, "pretty much everyone was born here, except for Enrique, Diego, Raul, Georgia, Grady, and Phillip; he lives in Konahona," he continued.
"To be honest," Lillian started, "I didn't even remember which town I was heading towards. After my fall I couldn't even guess which town I chose originally…" Lillian trailed off.
Ash laughed, "I've never heard that before! But, why did you choose Bluebell than?" He asked.
"I don't know, Konahona just didn't seem like a fit for me," Lillian admitted. She had always wanted to try to live the rustic farming life. As soon as she turned 18, she had left the city and had arranged to live in one of the two towns... Unfortunately she forgot which one.
"Here we are, the blacksmiths house," Ash announced. Walking up to a building made out of a sturdy stone and had a yellow roof. It was simple and didn't have much to it. Ash held the door open for Lillian to walk in. The inside looked like a generic blacksmiths house. There were tables cluttered with metals and tools. A giant furnace in the middle made the inside extremely hot, and in the corner there was a small bed and dresser. From behind the furnace came a tall slender woman. She had short red-brown wavy hair held back with a blue headband. She had a serious expression and green eyes hidden by thin glasses. She had an orange short sleeved shirt with overalls not strapped over her shoulders and orange work gloves. She looked like she could be Georgia's mother, except for her stern, yet laid back appearance.
"Hello," She said simply to Lillian and Ash.
"Hey Eileen, this is Lillian," Ash said making up for the lack of conversation.
"Nice to meet you," Lillian said slightly louder than usual. The quietness made her feel like she needed to raise her voice for some reason.
Eileen just nodded in greeting, "I'm the blacksmith," she said.
"Well, Lillian will probably come back later for help," Ash assumed, "good to see ya," he said walking towards the door. Lillian waved bye to Eileen and followed Ash out.
Once they were outside Ash turned to Lillian, "she doesn't talk much, except to Grady though... Everyone thinks there is something between them?" Ash explained winking at the end. "Nathan is never here on Saturdays, so you can go meet him tomorrow if you want. Now our last stop, town hall!" He said with a flourish. "Rutger and Rose will probably tell you all you need to know."
Ash was walking up the steps to the large purple roofed village when Cheryl ran over. "Mom needs your help with the cattle," she explained. Ash looked disappointed but smiled anyway, "sure thing," he said to Cheryl. He turned to Lillian with an apologetic look in his eyes, "sorry gotta go, have fun," he said walking off towards his house. Cheryl stuck her tongue at Lillian before running after him.
Lillian waved, and then walked up the rest of the stairs. Cheryl didn't bother her; she was only like, 12 or 13. Lillian pushed open the double doors.
Kona Hona up soon! Can't wait to write that chapter!
