HeorieOtaku: Oh boy, oh boy. How I really never thought I would take this long. Anyways, extremely sorry for the reeeeallly long wait and I hope you enjoy the chapter.
P.S. I don't own anything that has to do with Fairy tail. But I do own the idea to make most of the story.
Chapter 7
Needing and Explination
Natsu and I had just gotten back from searching for information, but we found little to none. I had been looking at my house too for quite awhile alone, because, for absolutely no reason at all, Natsu had fallen asleep.
A sigh of annoyance escaped me. Natsu woke up all the sudden upon hearing that. "What is it Luce? Something wrong?"
Turning to look at him I glared. You really are going there. He stared at me, waiting patiently for my reply. I guess he is. "Well. Just maybe, if I had some help I just might find something. But nooooooo!" I felt my eyes roll around the circumference of my eyelids. "Somebody, just had to take a nap, while I looked alone in that huge library."
Ignoring me, Natsu huffed a big sigh, then spoke. "Hey, Luce. I think I know a place we can search for some memories." He smiled, as if trying to ease my glare I was still making.
I have no better Idea. "Okay. Shoot. Lets see if you can tell me a place that would do any good for us that we haven't searched."
He chuckled and a smirk spread across his face. "We could search through that drawer that you keep avoiding every time I suggest, or get near it." I felt a few sweat drops go down my face. He can't look in there. I keep all my special stuff in there.
His eyes brow rose as he gave another suggestion.. "Or we could just search through your clothes drawers for some kind of hidden diary that you don't quite remember." A tick mark formed on my head. Instinctively, I kicked him.
"Pervert!" I yelled as he went flying out the window.
I could hear him speaking some words as he flew out the window.
Looking the foot I kicked him with, I felt some pretty interesting memories come to mind. So that's why it seems so familiar for him to be in the house.
As I looked up, out the window, a pin of guilt hit me, as I realized he probably was too much of a Baka to understand what I had meant. Opps. I thought as I heard him stomping his way back to my door, probably swearing under his breath a bit. Or just confused about what he did wrong to deserve that. Too late now.
His steps, or stomping more like it, echoed through the house as he walked to my room. Barging through the door, he looked a little upset. "What did I do to deserve that?!" He rubbed his head where a bit bump was forming.
My head lowered realizing, yet again, that that wasn't the best choice I have made. "Sorry..." Even myself could barely hear what I had said, but Natsu, with his extra sensitive ears heard me.
Natsu sighed. "You're forgiven." Then his eyes narrowed at me. "Just don't do that again when I haven't done anything, please."
"Sorry..." I said one more time as my heart was aching a bit. I need to repay him for what I did.
He smirked. "You don't have to be...so I mean..." Before saying anything else, he turned to me. "Are you even listening?!" Maybe if I do this, it will make him feel better...
He stopped in surprise, though, as I kissed his forehead where the bump was forming. "Um...Lucy?" I could feel his face grow warm right as I was pulling away, only to see a red strawberry Natsu right in front of me.
"S-sorry..."
I looked down, realizing how irrational I had been, but was stopped when he grabbed my arm. "Stop saying sorry so much! That's not like you! I may be a bit of a Baka, but I do know when my Luce is hiding something from me!"
"Baka, Baka, Baka!" I yelled it over and over again in embarrassment. He's such a Baka! He should know I am not HIS property! He's making me blush! Natsu! You BAKA!
I pulled my hands and turned around pouting. "I am not hiding anything from you! I thought you trusted me Natsu! I would do anything to get you to have all your memory's back! Anything!"
"Why does it have to be about just-" He was cut off by someone knocking on the door.
I turned. "Come in." Not another word was said as I sighed, walked over to the door and looked through the looking hole.
"Erza?" I opened the door. "What are you doing here?"
"We have a slight problem..." She motioned to the spot behind her. "It seems that we have both had some things go amiss with the...um...Neko cats...or...um..." She seemed to not know how to explain things as I looked behind her to see two Neko kids that looked similar to the Neko's that Juvia and her had, as well as Juvia looking a bit confused.
"Oh...Let me call Levy, that way we can try to explain things to you all." My voice went to a whisper as I turned around, waving them to come in. "Although it may be hard for you to all understand if you haven't had the dream yet." I hesitated.
"What did you say? What dream? Are we missing something?" Erza sparked up, trying to prod into what i had said.
"It's nothing. I'll explain later." I closed the door behind them all, but as soon as they all were in, I found that the four froze in their places. What could it be that is making then so surprised?
I turned my head in there direction and saw Natsu staring right back at them. "Erza...Jellal..." He whispered their names to where i barely could hear them. "Gray...Juvia..." Natsu turned towards me. "Lucy. Why do I recognize these people?"
I froze. "I..." No words came out. I don't know. They haven't met before. I don't think. Except for the past. Wait...if I remember right, in the dream... there was a Jellal and a gray or something... My mouth formed the word 'oh' as I turned away from them.
"Lucy!" Erza's sharp tune tore through me. "What is going on here! It seems you know, but we don't!"
Stopping in my place, I grew weak. That's right. They don't know. They don't know the pain that we all went through together as a team in our past memories. "Please. I know it's hard to accept, but you have to trust me. I'll explain as soon as Levy gets here. But before she can even do that, I need to contact her. Please..." I could hear the pain in my voice as I said those words, along with my eyes watering.
I don't know what to do! It's happening too fast for me to keep up! Taking in a sharp breath, I wiped my eyes, not letting anyone speak another word as I ran to my room to where my phone was.
Picking it up and dialing Levy's number, I calmed myself down by taking a few deep breaths. It's going to be alright. Everything will be fine.
"Hello?" I could hear Levy on the other side of the phone.
"Um...hi Levy." My voice was almost monotone. "I think you need to come over...some things have come up and I need you to help me." Suddenly a few tears came down my cheeks. Why am I so scared to tell them the truth? I thought this would be a good thing, but I am so scared of the past...
"Lu-chan..." I could tell that she could hear me on the other side of the phone. "You know what! I'll be there in a little bit! I'm just as scared but...but..." I could hear her tear up a bit too. She probably realized how scary this actually was. "We'll get through this together. Bye then. I'll see you in a few minutes."
The phone beeped, signaling that she had hung up. I wiped my tears away again. Thanks Levy. See you soon.
Walking around the corner, I saw everyone staring at me. I took a breath and spoke up. "Levy will be here in a few minutes. Meanwhile, i'll explain what happened with my Neko..." I turned directly at Natsu, then sat down at the couch, motioning for them to sit down as well.
Once they were all in seats next to each other, I began. "He-" I pulled on Natsu for him to sit down next to me. "Is my Neko that I adopted..." I paused, feeling, yet again, how weird sounded now. "...about a couple weeks ago."
Everyone turned to Natsu and stared at him. After a moment, they looked back at me, which meant that I should carry on. "As you can see, he still has some features that he had as a cat, but on the other hand, he is getting closer to human every time..." I took a deep breath, preparing for the reaction. "He regains a memory of our past lives that we did not know of before hand."
At that moment there was not words. Silence. That was until Levy quietly peeked through the door of my living room. "Can I sit down?" Levy asked. With that, I patted on the other side of me that was open. She was then followed by the fully grown Gajeel who had almost no features of a cat as well. He's changed a bit since i saw him last. Not much, but still.
Gajeel sat next to Levy. All eyes stared at him for a moment, until hot eyes all stared at Levy and I. I knew they wanted an explanation right that moment. "What do you mean past life?!" Erza sparked again. "How is that possible!?"
Now irritated by how impatient she was being, I exploded. "It's magic, okay! Weather you like it or not, anything is possible with magic! Now will you let us explain!" Erza, for the first time in what seemed like forever, was actually surprised by my rare outburst. It seemed that as she sat down, she finally understood. Thank goodness...
Natsu, who had been quite for some time now, spoke up. "I know it's hard Erza, but we have all are in this together. I don't' really remember much about you except for small snippets, and it's hard. Sure, you, Lucy, juvia, and Levy have to go through losing your memory, but I have to go through a lot as well! I mean, I was a cat and knew of nothing for a while! Atleast you all knew each other! Gajeel and I had to start from the beginning! From the very start!" Natsu panted as he finished his tirade.
"Now..." He said. "Let Lucy and Levy speak..."
Dumphonded, Erza just sat there stunned. I took that opportunity to start. "Well...I guess he kind of explained about the memory thing, but it won't do you any good until you have had the dream about the past of fairy tail." My voice trailed off. I don't know how to explain it when they haven't experienced it yet.
Lucky for me, Levy stepped in. "It's really hard to explain, but to put it simply, these people, who we don't know, turned our most powerful Wizards of Fairy tail into Neko's and erased the memories of all the people who knew about them at all. Chances are, if we left the city, we might of had a chance to encounter what Fairy tail used to be, but since we have not left the city..." She lost her words, just like I did. Atleast you tried, Levy. I thought as I finally figured out what to say.
"Basically that is how it went. They attacked us and next thing we know, there are these Neko cats and we have found that they all our memories are replaced with fake ones. Ones that have no memory of everything." I paused for a second, soaking in what I had said and what Levy had said. Did Levy just say something I didn't know? "Wait. What did you say about other people memory of Fairy tail being erased?"
Levy looked directly at me and Natsu and responded to my question. "Yeah. That's why we haven't encountered anyone that knew anything about Natsu and the others." My mind kind of contemplated the thought.
Juvia spoke up then. "But what does that mean for these two?" She pointed to Gray and Jellal. "Are they one of the few that were turned into Neko's because they were so powerful?" She gave a confused look.
Then Erza intercepted with another question before I could say anything. "And what about the guild? You said that it was destroyed, right? So how is it standing if it was destroyed? It just doesn't add up? The only thing that make some sort of since is the Neko's." The two little Neko's looked up at their owners, not understanding what was happening.
Suddenly, I blinked as I noticed that Gray had taken off most of his cloths and only had his diaper and his cross necklace on. "Um, Juvia...he's kind of undressed himself."
Juvia looked down in shock. "Gray-kun! Juvia thought she told Gray-kun not to do that!" She forced the shirt and shorts back onto the resisting, cute half Neko half child.
"But I don't wanna have cloths on! It's too warm! It'll melt my ice!" Juvia finally got his clothes, making him pout and sit down with a grumpy expression.
"Juvia told Gray-kun a million times. You don't have ice on you. You can't perform magic at your age, either. Not yet!" I watched as she sighed. "Sorry. Gray-kun seems to do that a lot."
"It's okay." Erza spoke. "But for now, we need to research some more. For now, I don't' know weather it's true or not, but either way, if it is, something is wrong. Because if that did happen, then that would mean that the guild is just our imagination. Only an illusion."
What? How would that work? Is that even possible? That would mean that the real Fairy tail is in rubles, and if we can uncover that, we would prove all of it to be true. A light bulb went off in my head. "That's it!" I quickly sat up. "We have to to search for clues about all this! There has to be an explanation!"
I grabbed Natsu's hand and pulled him along. "Come on!"
"Wait, Lucy! Where are we going!" Natsu had on a surprised face as I pulled him towards the door.
"We are going on an adventure to find out what happened to Fairy Tail!" Pulling him behind me, I grabbed my bag and ran out the door.
"Lu-chan!" "Lucy, wait for us! Juvia is coming too!" I could hear them all calling for me to wait, but I couldn't. I was going to find out what happened to Fairy tail and everyone else. That was my goal at the moment. I'll definitely do this! Especially for Natsu! I will recover his memories!
