Chapter seven.

The land of frost

Human winters never bothered me. Never do I feel cold nor hot. But this winter I was anxious. I had been walking for 80 years now. Walking with no purpose just kept walking so he couldn't find, but something had pulled me to this land. Maybe it was the blizzard.. Maybe it was the smell of blood.. Or maybe it was the woman standing behind the bar. Yeah it was probably her. I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. Her blood called out to me. I could swear that her soul was calling out to me. I could hear it.

I tried to resist her. But I started to get angry. I wanted to kill and drink the blood of every man that came close to her. That was when I gave in and said hi.

She was bartending and was busy wiping the counter. "Hi"

She looked up at me through her eye lashes. "Hey... What's your poison?"

I looked at the table behind her. "The strongest thing you have please."

She looked doubtful but grabbed a glass bottle from be hind her and pored it into a glass. The liquid was a dark ember color. I take the glass and down it. It tasted like candle wax. I felt the liquor burn all the way down, but nothing happened. I couldn't get drunk except from blood wine. "Not bad, tho it tastes like candle wax."

She giggled as she pored me and other drink. "Your not the first person to say that. You are the first person not to fall off your stool from one drink."

I smiled at her. "I'm stronger than most men." I chuckle lightly as she rolled her eyes. "I take it you've been told that a as Well?"

"Yes but some times they get creative. The one guy asked me if I worked in a library cause he checking me out!" She grabbed her stomach as she busted out laughing.

I was caught between anger and awe. I was angry cause other guys were hitting on her, but I was in awe because she would laugh about them later. I down the drink and wrinkle my nose from the taste. "That's horrible."

"The drink or the horrible pick up line?"

"Both?" She laughs again and I smile. "You have a beautiful laugh."

She blushes a little. "Yea well I'm sure all girls laughs are as great as mine."

"No yours is the most beautiful."

She smiles. "Thanks. Im Sayuki by the way."

"Garma." I stand up and smile at her. "Wanna go get something to eat?"

She looked around the empty bar. "Sure I'll close up. Meet me out side in five minutes?"

I nodded and smiled at her as I walked to the door. I had waited five minutes and she popped her head through the door. She was wearing the most beautiful dress I had ever seen. She must have been hiding it under her apron. We had talked about everything and anything as we sat at a table. I barely touched my food, which she noticed. I had told her my stomach was a little up set from the alcohol.

We went out every night after that. She was the easiest person to talk to, and the easiest to make laugh. I didn't tell her too much but I told her about my sister Saku. She in return told me about how she was an only child and didn't know her parents. She was working at her grandfathers bar.

For a month we talked about the future and it made me a little sad. I couldn't tell her what I was. I just knew deep down she would hate me. Every time I looked into her beautiful eyes I regretted saying yes to Sasori, for letting him do this to me. But I knew if he hadn't I wouldn't be alive now laughing with the love of my life. It's true I loved her.

Trying to hide the fact that I was a vampire was very hard. She wanted to go out during the day to show me more of the town, and I could not for I would burst into flames. She couldn't go out at night for it was too cold for her. I was dead and I had no warmth to give her so we stayed at the bar talking or at her house sitting in front of the fire. I couldn't give her much but she seemed to be happy with my presence.

On the first of the second month, under her favorite Sakura tree, I asked her to marry me. She had jumped into my arms kissing my cold lips. I was the happiest man a live. But I knew I'd have to tell her one day. But looking into her happy eyes I knew I had to fix this. Find a way to change my self back into a human. For her I would give up eternity.

~Oo~

The day of the wedding I knocked lightly on her front door. I knew something was wrong instantly. I couldn't smell her, couldn't hear her, I couldn't feel her. I broke down her front door to find her house in a mess. I could smell him. He had been here, in the love of my life's house. Anger pushed its way from my stomach all the way to my head then too my toes. I was pissed. And I was going to kill Sasori. I just had to find him.

I ran though two lands looking for them. Where would Sasori take her? At that moment I really wish Saku was there.. Saku... Wait Sasori had two rules. One we never left, two we never fell in love.. Sasori had been I love once. He took Sayuki because I was in love with her! I knew at that moment where he had taken her. I just hoped I could get to her in time.
