Hey! How's everybody's Winter Break going? Here is my late holiday gift to all of you: Chapter 7! Whoo!

Zelda didn't know why she had snuck out to see the Statue of the Goddess. This place always made her feel so much more... complete. Zelda would often come here to remind herself how little her problems really mattered. Here, she felt like a small piece of some greater whole, yet it didn't make her feel insignificant. She always found herself feeling much more at ease and balanced after a visit to the Goddess.

And that's what I need right now... Peace... Clarity...Serenity...

Zelda took one deep breath and then another. Her emotions had been running high all day and she just needed a break.

She sat and prayed for a while but even after she had finished, she stayed on the pedestal. There was no point in returning to her room if she wasn't tired and besides, the night was comfortable; cool and quiet. So Zelda sat and listened to the silence. Until she heard him.

She heard the green boy's footsteps before she heard his voice. She knew it was Link. Who else could it have been?

"Hey Zelda."

She looked over her shoulder towards him. He was only a dark shadow outlined by moonlight, yet Zelda knew it was him. She knew his figure, his stance, the way he carried himself. In fact, that's probably why he appeared in her dream the way he did.

"Can I sit down?"

She nodded and moved over. Link sat down beside her and the silence settled over them.

They sat and wordlessly gazed up at the nighttime sky. They sat like that for a few moments and Zelda began wondering why Link had hunted her down and whether or not he had anything say. Finally, Link broke the silence with a heavy sigh. Zelda looked over to him and watched as he hung his head in shame.

"I'm sorry," the boy muttered under his breath.

"For what?" Zelda asked, genuinely confused.

"I... I just felt like I needed to apologize. For everything."

Zelda cocked her head to the side and gave him a puzzled look. Link met her gaze and explained.

"It's my fault we got caught and it's my fault we were out that late in the first place. If I hadn't fallen asleep we could have been back sooner. And then when you got upset earlier I did nothing to comfort you. I should have done something or, at the very least, I should have said something. I can't believe I didn't-"

But he was abruptly cut off by two soft hands taking hold of one of his own. Zelda cursed herself for being so bold, but she couldn't pull away now. So, even though she was blushing something fierce, she forced herself to look up at her friend and hold his gaze. She squeezed his hand lightly and took a deep breath before softly speaking.

"You did nothing wrong, Link, but I know that won't put your mind at ease. So, I'll tell you what you want to hear; I forgive you, Link. There is no part of me that likes you any less for what you did."

Zelda watched him intently as he glanced down at their hands then back up to her. He swallowed hard then placed his free hand on top of hers.

"You're sure?"

She only nodded and gave a small smile as a response.

He sighed and smiled back. "That's good to hear. I was worried for a minute." He softly patted her hand then slowly, almost reluctantly, dropped her hands and went back to looking up at the sky.

The silence settled over them again; however, this time Zelda couldn't help but feel like Link wanted to say something. As if something needed to be said. Just when Zelda was going to ask, Link cut through the silence once more.

"You know what's funny?" he said, almost as if he was talking to himself, "I feel like a lot has happened in such a short amount of time. I mean, it was just last night that I hear you say-"

But he stopped himself short.

Zelda gave him a quizzical look. "Heard me say what?"

The green boy seemed embarrassed for a minute. He took a deep breath then hesitantly asked:

"Is there any chance you still remember what you dreamed about last night?"

The dream...

"We almost talked about it earlier but we were, well... Interrupted, to put it lightly."

Zelda let out a small laugh then smiled. "I do remember..." How could she forget? That dream helped her realize her feelings. Still, what if Link didn't feel the same way? "I remember the dream but..."

"You don't want to talk about it?" Link guessed. "It's okay, I get it. I just thought that-"

"No, Link it's okay. I... umm. Well it's just that... Ugh!" Zelda gave an exasperated sigh and shook her head.

Link sat patiently and let her gather her thoughts.

I'm just telling him my dream. It's not some huge declaration of love it's just... a dream. And even if he doesn't feel the same way, I've already decided I'm okay with that.

She took a deep breath. "Okay. Here's how my dream went..."

The young hylian listened intently as she began the story.

"I went out to fly and had gone farther than I had ever gone before..."

A young girl flies a long way with her periwinkle Loftwing. She smiles and laughs as she does tricks and dives with the bird. Without a care in the world, the young maiden leaps off her bird and lands carefully onto a small island below her.

Once landed, the golden haired maiden begins... looking. She treads lightly and looks all around. The island is nothing special; no flowers or ponds or rocks, just a flat, grassy island. Yet the princess feels a certain... essence coming from it. The island is calling to her, try to get her to witness something. But what could it be?

Her bird interrupts her thoughts by letting out a loud caw and settling itself down near the edge of the island. Seeing the bird so happy makes her smile and she dismisses whatever essence she thought she was sensing. She begins to walk over to the bird but stops dead in her tracks.

There's someone not too far behind her. She can hear them breathing.

There was no one here earlier. There wasn't anything on this island.

The young woman slowly turns around to see the figure, a male by the looks of it. He stands at the opposite edge of the island and wears a deep green cloak, the color of forests; it covers his face and arms and drags down to the ground. He isn't much taller than her so he must be around her age, and yet she can tell he holds the courage of much older man. He seems... familiar, but the girl can't think of how she would know such a mysterious man.

The young man quickly walks over to her, crossing the small island in just a few strides. He stops suddenly once he is within arms quickly grabs her hand and then, with a slow, deliberate and gentle gesture, he pushes a small red flower into her palm. He closes her hand around the flower and for a moment she sees a smile under the shadow of his cloak.

Just as suddenly as he approached, the cloaked figure turns and begins to stride off in the direction he came from.

"No, wait!" the maiden mutters, barely loud enough to hear.

The young man continues.

"Hey! Hey you!"

This time the young woman's voice stops him just as he reaches the edge of the island.

She studies the red flower in her hand.

"I know you, I know I do. You've always been there, haven't you?"

No answer. A slight wind blows over them. It blows through her hair and rustles his cloak.

"I know you have. You're familiar and yet so strange at the same time. But maybe that's because I've never open my eyes."

More silence.

"If you are who I think you are, then... I think... no. I know it. I love you."

At first there is no response. But then the man begins to laugh. It's slight at first, but it slowly builds into a chuckle and finally whole-hearted laugh. The man turns on his heels.

"I knew that Zelda."

He reaches up and slowly removes his hood, revealing pointed ears, dirty blonde locks and sparklingly blue eyes.

"But why did it take you so long to figure it out?"

And as he said those last words, he let himself fall backwards and be caught by a crimson Loftwing which carried him and his dark green cloak further and further away from the speechless maiden.

"Link..."

I have notes to take, packets to do, presentations to finish, auditions to practice for and finals coming up. But my goal for this break is to FINISH THIS STORY! It's gonna be 9 chapters long so we are almost there. I'm so excited. I hope you guys have enjoyed this so far because I know I have.

By the way, what did you think of the dream sequence? Just curious because I'd like to do something like that again and I want to know how I can improve upon it.
