Day break was something of a refreshing burst of light as she opened her dark eyes. She hadn't seen the light of day in so long. Birds chirped outside of the large, sash window and rain slowly pattered against the glass, sliding down it quickly. It was almost like the skies were crying. The clouds covered the sky like something from a dream. They looked like fields of white, unblemished and beautiful. It reminded her of something that used to be every day for her. That same white she used to wear in her hair and her body. The same white that used to surround her and make her feel at home in paradise. Now it just looked dull. Sadly, she turned her back to the window and looked at the extinguished candle wick instead. The room had looked so much prettier the night before. It was now a tired grey and she thought it looked ugly. The dolls in the corner looked at her but were silent, as if they knew so many secrets. As if they'd seen so many things that they shouldn't have seen, heard things they shouldn't have heard. The only other thing that would have completed it was if they said things they shouldn't say. Gabriel smiled at the thought. 'See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.' She frowned again. But they wouldn't. They were just dolls. She'd removed the bathrobe in the night when she'd gotten too warm and it was now dangling half way off the bed between the blankets and the mattress.

Lifting the blanket away from her body, she shivered at the chill. England was cold that time of year. Especially in the mornings. Approaching the large wardrobe, she hesitantly pulled the doors open and eyed the clothing articles. There weren't very many things to wear. The demon had probably only filled the wardrobe to make it look more appealing. 'How sweet.' She thought with an eye roll. Her thoughts then brought her back to the night before and her cheeks warmed slightly as she looked down at her bare feet, ashamed. He'd treated her like a child. Well, like a Lady, she supposed. That was how women were treated nowadays. Just as helpless as children.

She opened the drawers below the main wardrobe and cocked her head. Neatly folded in the drawer were white, lacy knickers with intricate flower embroidery, a few bodices, and frilly thigh socks.

Taking one of each garment, she then slung them over one arm and closed the drawer. She had to admit, the fabrics smelt absolutely divine, like soap. They were soft too. She laced them on the bed and picked them up again one at a time to put them on. Fist the socks, which were soft and gradually became warm on her smooth but unshaven legs. Then the knickers which, although there was a breeze, felt flowy and wonderful. Then the bodice was the tricky part. Luckily, the bodices in the drawer were unlike corsets in the way where the laces were at the front. Slipping the bodice over her head and past her bosoms, she then went to pull the lace tight but then let out a silent scream of pain, bending over and clutching her chest. When she brought her hand away, there was fresh, watery blood all over her palm and she breathed in heavily, eyes tearing up from the throbbing. She contemplated on finding Sebastian, but that would be embarrassing and she didn't want a demon's help for anything. Especially not his help. Looking around the room, she spotted a box of tissues on the vanity and stumbled over, still holding her chest to stop the blood from ruining the beautifully washed lingerie.

Wait…

A devious glint came to her eyes and her lips twitched into almost a smirk when a thought came to mind.

-

"Would you mind explaining to me why there are patches of blood soaked into every garment in the drawers?"

Gabriel innocently looked up at the demon in response.

Sebastian narrowed his eyes at her and grabbed her by her upper arm, bending over to get to her level.

"You think you're being clever. But you're just asking for punishment." His voice was low and threatening, as if warning her of what was to come if she didn't stop making his job harder than it already was. If he needed anyone to mess up his work, he'd just get the other three morons of servants to do it. Gabriel turned her face and closed her eyes, huffing. This made Sebastian slightly curious. He raised a brow.

Was she…

Sulking..?

Standing to his full height of just over six foot and held his chin, observing her. How strange. Only clad in bloodied undergarments, the girl folded her arms and refused to look his way. Even when he'd robbed her of immortality, made her lose faith and punished her, she still refused to acknowledge him as superior to her. She wasn't even scared of him. Or so it seemed.

The white haired girl took a seat at the vanity and began brushed the white strands with a heavily bristled brush. She wasn't going to bend to his will that easily. She knew exactly what he wanted and she wasn't going to show him that she feared him. In the mirror, she saw him approach her with an eerily calm stride.

"Allow me to help…" Something in his voice made her wary. It was as if he was planning something. Not allowing her a moment to protest, he took the brush out of her hand and started to plough through her stubborn white locks with it, practically ripping her hair out. Her face contorted in pain as she opened her mouth, trying not to scream. Sebastian smirked at her expression in the reflection and pulled the brush through harder, making her cry out. Immediately, she clasped her mouth shut with her hand. Her nails were healing. No longer were they splintered and bloody. They just had small, dirty cracks in them at that point.

Sebastian stopped as tears streamed down her face. He smiled deviously.

"There, don't you look beautiful." He loomed over her shoulder and stared at her in the mirror, watching the water continuously falling from her onyx eyes.

Ciel Phantomhive tapped his fork against his plate, hungry. Where was Sebastian? Breakfast was supposed to have been served ten minutes ago. The door to the dining room opened and Sebastian strolled in with breakfast on the serving trolley. Once the smell of full English breakfast hit the boy's nose, he paid immediate attention to his Butler.

"Sebastian, what took you so long? I'm starving." He demanded grumpily. The butler placed the food on the table and bowed, a hand on his un-beating heart.

"My apologies, my lord. Preparing our guest was significantly tedious this morning as for her rambunctious attitude this morning." Ciel merely waved him off but stopped attempting to cut into a stubborn piece of bacon and looked up when their 'guest' walked in.

"My lord, may I present Lady Gabriel of Montebury."

Ciel roamed his eyes over her, displeased and disappointed. She just looked like a normal girl. Her white hair was somehow duller than he could recall, it had been cut to her breast and separated into two curled pig tails. Her dress was a dull grey and was slim on her lithe figure. The gown went all the way down to the floor and black heels peeked out from under the hemline. On her neck was a black ribbon choker that emphasized how small her neck was. Over all, he was bored already. He bit down on a piece of bacon but halted again. Those eyes… He hadn't remembered those. He could have sworn they were blue… Now they were as black as coal and maybe even darker. How peculiar. Ciel looked at Sebastian who pulled a chair out for her and aggressively pushed it back in just as she sat down, making her wheeze out a cough.

"Sebastian, come here."

Sebastian walked over and leant down, allowing his lord to whisper in his ear before he whispered back.

Gabriel stared at the table, not wanting to look at the boy so full of hatred and sin. Her eyes turned hard. She'd offered everything to her and he betrayed her so he could delve deeper into the dark and evil abyss.

"How interesting…" She heard his voice. She hated how the demon and the boy were so close. She wanted to rip them apart from one another. Maybe she envied the demon. He seemed to be such a large influence over the boy and she couldn't understand why. Surely she would have made for a better butler than him. She would have cared for him and helped him achieve his goals without taking his soul at the end. She would have brought him to the light.

"You,"

She refused to look up.

"I'm speaking to you."

Still, she didn't look. Instead, she turned her head and narrowed her sad eyes slightly. Sebastian stalked over to her and grabbed her face, giving her the fakest smile she'd ever seen.

"The master is speaking to you. Surely you don't want to be punished again…" His voice was sickly sweet. It was disgusting. When she looked at Ciel finally, Sebastian let go and went to pour tea. Her dead eyes concentrated on Ciel a bit too much and he became slightly uncomfortable under her gaze.

Ciel observed those eyes. The eyes of a fallen angel, losing faith. He smirked slightly and cocked his head to the side.

"Do you feel broken and depressed? Do you feel alone and lost?" She could hear the amusement in his voice but then it was gone and his face turned serious.

"I hope you do because then maybe you will understand why I hate you and your 'God.'"

The girl's eyes widened before her throat started to tighten as she tried to fight back tears. Staring the boy down, she sniffed.

"The only thing I feel," Sebastian stopped pouring tea, shocked that she had spoken. The girl continued, "The only thing I feel is pity for you."

Ciel's eyes turned angry and Sebastian turned around calmly, placing Ciel's tea down before walking to the girl and grabbing her by the arm, dragging her out if her chair making it emit an awful screeching noise against the floor. Before he exited the room with Gabriel in tow, he bowed to his lord.

"Excuse us, Master. But Lady Gabriel has forgotten her manners." And with that, they'd left the room.

Ciel slammed his fist down in anger. "Damn her." He hissed through his teeth. The former angel had been nothing but an obstacle in the way of his revenge ever since she started appearing in his dreams. And now she was live and in the flesh, she was going to be even more of a problem. He sat back in his chair, making it look like a throne. What if he were to break her in? Like you would do to a stubborn horse. That's all she was really; a filthy animal that needed to learn its place. But then he thought…

What if he used her as a pawn too?
