So another update! I figured you all deserve it after my long hiatus.

Harry's POV

Gantlos' sudden appearance startles me, especially the fact that he's blatantly showing fear in front of people other than his friends.

"What's wrong Gantlos?"

Gantlos frowns. "What do you mean what's wrong!? You come in here with a frown and you expect me to be calm? Did something happen with Duman? Is he okay?"

Oh, that's why he's worried. I guess I shouldn't have showed my weariness from casting the healing spell in front of him.

"Harry?" Anagan asks, looking just as anxious as Gantlos.

"Sorry if I scared you, I'm just tired from casting the spell. Duman's all right, he's healing, albeit slowly, but it's better than nothing. I wager it will take some time for him to fully heal. Speaking of which," I turn towards the Friar, glad I didn't have to go hunting for both him and Neville, Luna & Co. "Friar, Madam Pomfrey asked me to look for you. You're a skilled healer and she would like your help watching over Duman while he heals."

"Oh, someone in need of my help? Very well, I shall see to it that I don't keep Madam Pomfrey waiting." He says, fading through the wall and as I assume, to the Hospital Wing.

I turn back around to find everyone staring at me, especially Gantlos, who look less panicked now then he did earlier.

"Thank you...thank you Harry! You helped us even though we don't deserve it." Gantlos drops to his knees, hands covering his face. Concerned, I walk up to him and place my hand on his shoulder.

"Stand up Gantlos."

Gantlos looks up, eyes wide but he stands up as soon as he sees the gentle look on my face.

"You don't have to apologize. Call it the martyr in me, but I can't refuse helping those in need. And besides, everyone deserves a second chance."

Ogron barks out laughing. "So I guess you still are somewhat the same as you were when you were a teenager."

I shrug. "What can I say? Old habits die hard. Anyway, what were you all talking about with the Friar before I came in?"

"Oh he just overheard us talking about the witch-hunts." Neville says.

"Ah, the witch-hunts. I see. Not the greatest time in history for witches and wizards, more so witches."

"Yeah, about that. Now that we know of the horrors of these witch-hunts, why didn't you tell us there are ghosts in the castle!?" Stella demands.

"Technically, I did tell you. I was just vague about it."

"Wait, do you mean when you said they're other beings besides students in the castle?" Bloom asks.

"Yup."

"Well you could have been at least more specific." Tecna says, frowning.

"Yeah, but then you would have freaked out. Well some of you might have. I imagine you have similar yet different creatures in the magical dimension as we do on Earth."

"So about that ghost earlier...why exactly does he haunt this castle?" Roxy asks.

"You mean the Friar?" Luna asks.

"Yeah."

"He's one of the four house ghosts of Hogwarts." I say.

"Four houses?" Sky asks.

"Hogwarts is separated into four houses based on specific qualities of a wizard and witches personality. They are named after the four founders of the school, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowen Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin."

"So what are the traits of each house, and how are students sorted?" Nabu asks, curious.

"Gryffindor house is known for its Bravery and Chivalry, Hufflepuff for being just and loyal, Ravenclaw for intelligence and wit, and Slytherin for being cunning and resourceful. The Friar, who you just met is the house ghost for Hufflepuff since he himself was in that house when he went here."

"Wait, you mean to tell me there are more ghosts in the castle?" Stella asks, inching closer to Brandon who wraps a comforting arm around her.

"Yeah. Each house has its own ghost that was in the same house when they went to school. Most of the ghosts here are ones that were either afraid of death, had a strong connection with the place or unfinished business that wouldn't let them move on."

"That's creepy. How did you manage to go to school with ghosts floating about?" Layla asks.

"It's just a normal thing at Hogwarts. Of course everyone is startled when they first start school, but they become accustomed to it."

"Who are the other house ghosts?" Brandon asks.

"Nearly Headless Nick is his nickname, he's Gryffindor's house ghost while The Bloody Baron is the house ghost for Slytherin and The Grey Lady for Ravenclaw."

"Nearly Headless Nick?" Flora asks, looking disgusted.

"Yeah. He was sentenced to be be-headed but the blade was dull. It took forty-five hacks before he died of blood loss and his head was only partially severed, thus Nearly Headless Nick."

Flora looks more sick than the rest of her friends while the wizards don't seem fazed.

"Forget she asked." Musa mutters, looking disturbed.

"So which houses were you three in?" Helia asks, trying to divert attention away from the gruesome topic.

"Neville and I were in Gryffindor along with Ron and Hermione while Luna was in Ravenclaw."

Everyone stares blankly between Luna and I, asking if I'm serious. Many people think because Luna always has a dazed look on her face and her talk of imaginary creatures (which she has now proven are real) that it makes her an airhead.

"I know what you're thinking, but Luna is more then she appears."

And that's all I'm going to say. I only just met these people and the wizards I'm still wary of so there's no way I would trust them with Luna's secret.

Sensing I'm not going to elaborate, Riven asks. "What about that Draco guy? What house was he in?"

"Slytherin."

"It used to be considered the evil house of Hogwarts." Neville chimes in.

"Why?" Ogron, who had up until now been silent asks.

"Because it is the house that has produced the most dark wizards and witches."

"Interesting." Anagan says, looking thoughtful. I'm not sure whether to be wary about that or not.

"Indeed. I'm learning quite a bit to put into my database." Tecna says, completely missing that Anagan finds it interesting for another reason.

"Just don't go showing any humans or people not to be trusted that database. You already know why our kind hide away in our own world.

"Oh I won't, I just like to be prepared and obviously learning new things."

"As do I." Timmy chimes in.

I chuckle. "You two for sure would have been sorted into Ravenclaw."

"Oh, oh! Sort me next!" Stella chirps excitedly, jumping up and down.

"Sort all of us!" Bloom chimes in, looking just as excited.

"Okay, though I haven't known you all long so I'm just going based off the little I know. I think Sky, Brandon, Bloom and Layla would have been Gryffindor's, Stella, Roxy, Flora and Helia Hufflepuff's, Nabu, a Ravenclaw, and Riven, Musa, Ogron, Gantlos and Anagan as Slytherin's."

"Based on what you told us of the houses characteristics, that sounds about accurate." Tecna says. She goes to say something else but the doors to the classroom suddenly slam open, Hermione stands panting in the doorway.

Gantlos, who hasn't said a word since he apologized shoots out of his seat.

"Emergency Harry, we need you back in the medical wing!" Hermione says, rushing off with before saying anymore, but she doesn't have to because I'm right on her heels as Gantlos and the others are on mine.

We manage to make it to the medical wing in record time, Gantlos all but breaking the door down in his haste to get to Duman.

Madam Pomfrey doesn't even scold him like she usually would, too focused on pouring healing magic along with Ron and Hermione into Duman.

"What went wrong!?" I ask, rushing over and adding my own magic into the mix.

"We don't know. He was fine for the hour you were gone, but after that his symptoms started coming back." Ron says.

"I think that this man's illness goes deeper than magical exhaustion." The Friar says.

"What do you mean?" Anagan asks, worried.

"I can't be sure quite yet, but one thing I do know is he'll have to have you perform the healing spell on him every hour until his body adjusts to the magic. Ours is different from his, so that could be a cause."

Suddenly Luna chimes in. "What the Friar says is correct."

I don't even have to look at Luna to know she saw something about Duman's illness.

"We can help take over shifts when any of you get tired. Maybe even call in extra help." Neville says, gesturing between him and Luna.

"That would be great because we can no longer do this between just the four of us. There's something deeper at work here and if we don't find the cause soon, it could kill Duman."

Sorry this chapter was kind of boring, but some of the history of Hogwarts mentioned will come in handy in future chapters. Next chapter is where things will start to get more interesting and serious.
