Alternate Past Uncertain Future MkII
Author's Note: More than a few weapons from Halo 4 and Halo Wars will not be in here because of either A) I'm not sure where they fit even with the wikia's help, and B) some, like the MA5D of Halo 4, makes no fucking sense to me from a designer's standpoint. It's basically going from a modern M16A4 to the older M14 of the Cold War, not the M14 EMR of today, which wasn't the greatest compared to the M16A4.

MACH-system
Mass-Accelerated, Chemical Hybrid system. A system developed by the East Asian branch of Misirah Armories. The MACH system is a combination of both chemical-propellant based munitions and electromagnetic acceleration. In the majority of weapons using the MACH system, the firing mechanisms are still the same. The core of the system is the barrel, which is a miniaturized mass-accelerator, particularly a coil-gun for durability and reliability as opposed to the more powerful rail-gun method. A round fired from a weapon using the MACH system will be no different from one not using a MACH system, when being made and fired. However, a weapon leaving the barrel of a weapon using the MACH system will have a far greater velocity. The mass accelerator further accelerates a round by several factors, based on the platform it is being fired from, such as a rifle compared to a mounted gun.
The end result is a weapon capable of firing rounds at much greater velocities than previously thought capable in smallarms.

MA-Series:
The MA-series of rifles has served as the UNSC and, prior to its annexation by the aforementioned, the CMA's (Colonial Militia Administration) primary assault rifle. It continues to do so today with all branches of the UNSC and the CDF.
The current models in production are the MA5 and MA6 series of rifles, including their variants. Some of which are often mistaken as a different line, such as the MA37-ICWS and the stripped-down variant of the MA5-B series; MA2B.
Currently, the MA5-series sees service with various authorized militia groups, the CDF and law enforcement groups. Authorized militia groups are authorized to be with the MA37-variant line and the MA2B-variant. Law enforcement are allowed to carry the previously mentioned lines along with the MA5K . These variants are also available to non-law enforcement civilians, albeit being only capable of semi-auto fire, though there are discussions of creating a means to remove such limitations remotely should the need arise.
Only the CDF are authorized to carry the MA5B-line and the MA5C-line. The reason for this restriction is due to the capabilities of the MA5C and MA5B line. The MA5B is restricted to the CDF due to its incredible, baseline 60-round high capacity magazine and the high rate of fire, its bullpup-design also makes it very dangerous as it can serve as a close-quarters weapon. The MA5C is also restricted not because of its fire-rate or magazine capacity, both of which are near identical to the MA37 and MA5K lines. Rather it is because of it's, by comparison, incredibly high accuracy. The effective range at which an MA5C can be aimed and fired at is nearly double of all of the others of the MA5-series. There has been several document cases, both on and off the firing ranges, inside and outside of combat scenarios of the MA5C being used at distances only thought capable of being targeted by, at the very least, a M392 Designated Marksmen Rifle.
The current series used by the branches of the UNSC is the MA6-series. The platform and all variants, utilize what many consider to be a novel system. At its core, the firing mechanism of the MA6-series and all that came before it, are virtually identical. However, there is one great difference. The MA6 not only utilizes chemical-propellants, but magnetic acceleration as well. Chambered in 7.62x51mm ammunition, with a fire rate of 800 rpm, standard magazine capacity is 65 rounds per.
**Truncated due to lack of higher clearance**
The MA6-Series is the first automatic rifle that utilizes the MACH-system. Currently, only one variant exists of the MA6-series: the MA6A line. Appearance-wise, it is similar to the MA2B, with a rail instead of the smooth metal of the MA5B and later lines, allowing for the application of true iron sights. Another thing that makes the MA6A stand out from earlier series is the addition, or rather return, of rail mounts to the weapon, allowing for the addition of various attachments and alternate sights. Both the bottom, sides and top of the weapon support rail sights, usually left empty as default with the exception of the lower rail. Which has a solid-component that serves both as a grip and flashlight that gives the weapon a similar feeling to the MA5-series.
BR-series
The BR-series line, or Battle Rifle as all variants of the rifle has come to be called, is still unchanged and remains in use with the both the UNSC and the CDF and is strictly forbidden from civilian possession, except by authorized police and private militaries.
The proposed replacement to the BR55-series, the current production line, the BR60, is also to utilize the MACH-system and in the same 9.5mm ammunition of the earlier line.
A/N: Will add more small-arms as I think of them and more variants.
